bright_a beam_n of_o god_n mercy_n break_v forth_o and_o shine_v upon_o our_o heart_n after_o a_o dark_a and_o cloudy_a night_n of_o affliction_n it_o be_v most_o comfortable_a to_o glad_a and_o true_o repent_v to_o behave_v use_n 1_o himself_o as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n &_o as_o in_o his_o sight_n so_o as_o he_o dare_v do_v nothing_o that_o may_v offend_v the_o eye_n of_o god_n this_o show_v most_o plain_o that_o most_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v far_o from_o true_a repentance_n and_o be_v never_o bear_v a_o new_a see_v many_o will_v make_v conscience_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o man_n which_o yet_o make_v no_o bone_n to_o commit_v it_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n what_o man_n be_v so_o shameless_a to_o commit_v adultery_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o man_n yet_o there_o be_v many_o that_o fear_v not_o nor_o blush_v not_o to_o commit_v it_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n saint_n paul_n say_v they_o steal_v commit_v adultery_n and_o do_v all_o evil_a in_o the_o night_n alas_o 4.5_o phil._n 4.5_o night_n and_o day_n be_v all_o alike_o to_o god_n the_o lord_n be_v at_o our_o elbow_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o remember_v this_o and_o as_o we_o will_v not_o oh_o thy_o god_n see_v thou_o thou_o stand_v in_o his_o presence_n he_o hear_v &_o see_v all_o thou_o do_v and_o though_o thou_o may_v keep_v it_o close_o from_o the_o eye_n of_o man_n yet_o thou_o knowledge_n a_o heavenly_a knowledge_n a_o save_a knowledge_n which_o be_v of_o that_o nature_n and_o quality_n that_o it_o put_v all_o those_o which_o have_v it_o into_o a_o real_a possession_n of_o eternal_a life_n it_o be_v the_o way_n to_o eternal_a life_n it_o be_v the_o key_n to_o open_v the_o gate_n of_o heaven_n unto_o we_o and_o it_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o finger_n of_o god_n that_o put_v we_o into_o real_a possession_n of_o eternal_a life_n three_o we_o have_v to_o consider_v another_o special_a fruit_n or_o quality_n of_o this_o save_a knowledge_n that_o it_o will_v never_o to_o eternal_a life_n let_v we_o then_o pray_v unto_o god_n that_o he_o will_v put_v his_o fear_n into_o our_o heart_n that_o we_o may_v not_o sin_n against_o he_o for_o till_o such_o time_n as_o we_o have_v this_o fear_n of_o god_n till_o we_o be_v true_o humble_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o mourn_v for_o they_o and_o live_v and_o behave_v ourselves_o as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v never_o attain_v to_o this_o knowledge_n which_o be_v the_o right_a way_n to_o bring_v we_o to_o eternal_a life_n for_o though_o man_n have_v never_o so_o great_a knowledge_n in_o the_o word_n of_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o be_v his_o sanctifier_n all_o other_o knowledge_n be_v but_o carnal_a and_o shall_v not_o profit_v he_o to_o salvation_n we_o see_v man_n can_v be_v content_a to_o take_v great_a pain_n to_o study_v for_o worldly_a knowledge_n the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o tongue_n of_o art_n and_o science_n the_o knowledge_n of_o philosophy_n of_o trade_n and_o occupation_n and_o that_o to_o maintain_v a_o temporal_a life_n and_o shall_v we_o which_o be_v christian_n take_v no_o pain_n to_o study_v the_o word_n and_o to_o hear_v it_o preach_v and_o teach_v unto_o we_o thereby_o to_o attain_v to_o this_o bless_a knowledge_n which_o shall_v last_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o and_o never_o leave_v we_o till_o it_o bring_v we_o to_o eternal_a life_n and_o yet_o alas_o we_o see_v that_o most_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v so_o bewitch_v with_o the_o love_n of_o the_o world_n and_o earthly_a thing_n which_o be_v but_o momentany_a and_o last_v but_o for_o a_o time_n that_o they_o either_o contemn_v or_o at_o least_o they_o neglect_v this_o bless_a knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n which_o will_v make_v they_o happy_a and_o bless_a for_o evermore_o this_o they_o never_o seek_v for_o nor_o will_v not_o put_v their_o head_n out_o of_o their_o door_n to_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n whereby_o they_o may_v attain_v to_o this_o knowledge_n but_o let_v such_o carnal_a man_n and_o woman_n know_v that_o they_o contemn_v this_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n here_o he_o will_v likewise_o contemn_v they_o hereafter_o and_o say_v unto_o they_o depart_v from_o i_o you_o curse_v i_o know_v you_o not_o see_v this_o knowledge_n thus_o to_o know_v god_n the_o father_n use_v 4_o to_o be_v our_o father_n christ_n his_o son_n our_o saviour_n &_o redeemer_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n our_o comforter_n &_o sanctifier_n be_v the_o right_a way_n to_o eternal_a life_n and_o put_v our_o soul_n in_o real_a possession_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n then_o all_o they_o which_o want_v this_o knowledge_n must_v needs_o abide_v in_o death_n they_o live_v in_o blindness_n and_o ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o his_o word_n the_o devil_n must_v needs_o carry_v they_o blindfold_a to_o perdition_n for_o the_o want_n of_o this_o knowledge_n be_v it_o that_o bring_v man_n to_o eternal_a confusion_n alas_o poor_a miserable_a soul_n when_o wisdom_n come_v and_o cry_v at_o our_o door_n and_o yet_o man_n shall_v most_o ungrateful_o contemn_v this_o knowledge_n and_o refuse_v instruction_n and_o trample_v this_o precious_a pearl_n under_o foot_n sure_o these_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v they_o what_o they_o will_v be_v they_o do_v voluntary_o strip_v themselves_o of_o eternal_a life_n nay_o like_o blind_a bayard_n they_o run_v their_o poor_a soul_n into_o the_o pit_n of_o hell_n before_o they_o be_v aware_a and_o therefore_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n if_o we_o never_o have_v this_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o yet_o now_o let_v we_o labour_v for_o it_o if_o we_o have_v it_o then_o let_v we_o labour_v that_o it_o may_v become_v effectual_a unto_o we_o to_o purge_v we_o to_o quicken_v we_o to_o change_v we_o that_o it_o be_v not_o idle_a and_o naked_a hitherro_n have_v i_o show_v the_o nature_n and_o property_n of_o this_o knowledge_n now_o because_o this_o knowledge_n be_v so_o excellent_a so_o heavenly_a and_o divine_a therefore_o it_o must_v knowledge_n it_o be_v god_n himself_o that_o be_v the_o object_n of_o a_o sanctify_a knowledge_n it_o be_v not_o the_o knowledge_n of_o tongue_n it_o be_v not_o the_o knowledge_n of_o philosophy_n and_o of_o the_o nature_n of_o thing_n all_o which_o be_v commendable_a in_o themselves_o but_o the_o thing_n which_o we_o must_v know_v and_o which_o be_v the_o object_n of_o this_o heavenly_a and_o bless_a knowledge_n it_o be_v god_n himself_o this_o be_v teach_v by_o our_o bless_a saviour_n â—_o io._n 17.3_o 2._o cor._n 13._o â—_o this_o be_v life_n eternal_a that_o they_o know_v thou_o the_o be_v that_o this_o knowledge_n of_o the_o true_a god_n be_v not_o attain_v unto_o by_o nature_n answer_v it_o be_v not_o in_o any_o man_n as_o he_o be_v a_o natural_a man_n to_o attain_v to_o this_o heavenly_a knowledge_n 8.7_o rom._n 8.7_o let_v natural_a education_n be_v never_o so_o good_a and_o man_n never_o so_o excellent_a in_o wit_n or_o understanding_n or_o any_o other_o gift_n of_o 4.23_o thus_o particular_o to_o know_v and_o believe_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v their_o jesus_n and_o saviour_n who_o have_v die_v for_o they_o to_o save_v their_o soul_n and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o sweetness_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o marrow_n of_o all_o religion_n not_o simple_o to_o know_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v a_o saviour_n but_o to_o know_v that_o he_o be_v my_o saviour_n not_o simple_o to_o know_v that_o he_o die_v for_o sinner_n but_o for_o i_o the_o chief_a of_o all_o sinner_n not_o simple_o to_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o eternal_a life_n but_o to_o know_v that_o there_o be_v eternal_a life_n lay_v up_o for_o i_o so_o that_o we_o see_v that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o a_o christian_n to_o know_v the_o history_n of_o the_o bible_n that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o saviour_n of_o the_o world_n and_o die_v for_o those_o which_o believe_v in_o he_o for_o this_o knowledge_n the_o devil_n himself_o have_v he_o know_v and_o do_v acknowledge_v jesus_n christ_n to_o be_v the_o saviour_n of_o the_o world_n but_o we_o must_v labour_v for_o this_o particular_a knowledge_n this_o certain_a and_o experimental_a knowledge_n so_o as_o we_o can_v say_v in_o truth_n of_o heart_n note_n note_n i_o believe_v and_o know_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v not_o only_o the_o saviour_n of_o the_o world_n but_o my_o saviour_n not_o only_o that_o he_o die_v for_o they_o which_o believe_v in_o he_o but_o that_o he_o die_v for_o i_o and_o shed_v his_o blood_n to_o save_v my_o soul_n and_o though_o this_o be_v true_a that_o though_o but_o one_o man_n or_o woman_n in_o the_o whole_a world_n shall_v be_v save_v yet_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v this_o certain_a knowledge_n to_o believe_v i_o be_o the_o man_n i_o be_o the_o woman_n and_o they_o which_o have_v this_o certain_a and_o unfalilble_a knowledge_n they_o be_v in_o the_o right_a way_n to_o eternal_a life_n but_o they_o which_o have_v only_o a_o general_n and_o confuse_a knowledge_n swim_v in_o the_o brain_n alas_o they_o abide_v in_o death_n the_o three_o special_a thing_n which_o we_o must_v know_v be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n us._n how_o god_n the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v to_o be_v know_v of_o us._n when_o as_o we_o can_v find_v and_o feel_v the_o work_n of_o god_n spirit_n within_o we_o when_o we_o acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v the_o author_n and_o sole_a worker_n of_o this_o knowledge_n when_o we_o can_v know_v by_o experience_n in_o our_o own_o self_n in_o our_o soul_n and_o conscience_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n be_v in_o we_o 13.5_o gal._n 2_o 20._o 2._o cor._n 13.5_o that_o we_o can_v say_v with_o the_o apostle_n christ_n live_v in_o i_o and_o that_o he_o do_v make_v we_o with_o boldness_n to_o call_v upon_o god_n and_o to_o cry_v unto_o he_o abba_n father_n 8.15_o rom._n 8.15_o when_o we_o do_v feel_v the_o bless_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o mortify_v our_o corrupt_a nature_n by_o little_a and_o little_a weaken_v god_n in_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n which_o have_v great_o deface_v in_o we_o by_o reason_n of_o sin_n and_o satan_n this_o be_v that_o knowledge_n which_o whosoever_o find_v put_v and_o pour_v into_o their_o soul_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n jesus_n they_o be_v happy_a and_o bless_a they_o be_v in_o real_a possession_n of_o eternal_a life_n but_o as_o for_o those_o which_o want_v this_o knowledge_n seem_v they_o never_o so_o excellent_a nor_o think_v they_o never_o so_o well_o of_o themselves_o they_o be_v but_o miserable_a and_o curse_a and_o abide_v in_o eternal_a death_n and_o damnation_n doct._n have_v thus_o at_o large_a show_v what_o be_v that_o knowledge_n here_o speak_v of_o dangerous_a ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o his_o word_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n be_v dangerous_a and_o also_o the_o excellent_a fruit_n &_o effect_n that_o come_v from_o it_o and_o what_o it_o be_v that_o we_o must_v know_v as_o also_o what_o great_a profit_n this_o knowledge_n bring_v to_o all_o those_o which_o have_v it_o namely_o eternal_a life_n it_o shall_v not_o now_o be_v amiss_o to_o consider_v in_o a_o word_n how_o dangerous_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v to_o want_v this_o save_a knowledge_n &_o what_o great_a misery_n come_v to_o man_n and_o woman_n by_o ignorance_n and_o want_v of_o knowledge_n the_o bless_a son_n of_o god_n himself_o who_o be_v most_o true_a nay_o the_o very_a truth_n and_o life_n itself_o when_o he_o will_v show_v the_o root_n and_o very_a spawn_n of_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n he_o tell_v the_o scribe_n &_o pharisee_n 22.29_o mat._n 22.29_o you_o err_v because_o you_o know_v not_o the_o scripture_n and_o the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o to_o what_o shall_v we_o impute_v this_o in_o these_o day_n that_o man_n run_v into_o error_n and_o teach_v false_a heretical_a nay_o damnable_a doctrine_n sure_o to_o this_o because_o man_n know_v not_o the_o scripture_n and_o have_v no_o knowledge_n in_o the_o word_n what_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o man_n live_v in_o sin_n in_o drunkenness_n whoredom_n adultery_n swear_v covetousness_n &_o c_o alas_o the_o cause_n of_o all_o be_v this_o because_o they_o have_v no_o knowledge_n there_o be_v a_o excellent_a place_n to_o this_o purpose_n in_o the_o prophet_n hosea_n 1.2_o hos_fw-la 1.2_o where_o the_o lord_n by_o his_o prophet_n take_v up_o a_o great_a and_o grievous_a complaint_n against_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n because_o there_o be_v no_o mercy_n nor_o truth_n to_o be_v find_v but_o that_o man_n live_v in_o swear_v lie_v kill_a whore_v thieve_a etc._n etc._n and_o the_o reason_n of_o all_o these_o be_v there_o lay_v down_o in_o these_o word_n there_o be_v no_o knowledge_n of_o god_n in_o the_o land_n read_v the_o four_o chapter_n of_o and_o a_o affect_a ignorance_n all_o these_o kind_n of_o ignorance_n be_v here_o forbid_v and_o condemn_v as_o the_o great_a enemy_n to_o this_o knowledge_n the_o first_o of_o these_o be_v simple_o for_o want_v of_o mean_n ignorance_n 1_o of_o simple_a ignorance_n which_o few_o man_n in_o these_o day_n and_o time_n wherein_o we_o live_v be_v able_a to_o object_n for_o the_o voice_n of_o god_n minister_n have_v sound_v the_o lord_n trumpet_n of_o warning_n in_o most_o place_n of_o this_o land_n so_o that_o if_o man_n now_o shall_v be_v ignorant_a it_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o wilful_a and_o a_o affect_a ignorance_n for_o by_o the_o mercy_n of_o our_o god_n we_o live_v now_o in_o such_o time_n as_o knowledge_n be_v even_o thrust_v upon_o man_n both_o by_o public_a authority_n and_o the_o restless_a labour_n of_o god_n faithful_a minister_n 4._o 2._o cor._n 4._o so_o that_o we_o may_v conclude_v with_o the_o apostle_n if_o the_o gospel_n be_v hide_v it_o be_v hide_v to_o they_o that_o perish_v who_o the_o prince_n of_o this_o world_n have_v blind_v their_o mind_n yet_o notwithstanding_o that_o man_n shall_v want_v these_o mean_n of_o knowledge_n yet_o will_v not_o their_o ignorance_n excuse_v they_o in_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n it_o may_v excuse_v Ã _fw-la tanto_fw-la but_o not_o Ã _fw-la toto_fw-la as_o divine_n affirm_v their_o punishment_n may_v be_v something_o the_o less_o but_o it_o shall_v not_o free_v they_o from_o have_v any_o at_o all_o the_o second_o kind_n of_o ignorance_n that_o be_v here_o condemn_v as_o a_o utter_a engine_n to_o this_o knowledge_n ignorance_n 2_o of_o careless_a ignorance_n be_v careless_a ignorance_n which_o be_v indeed_o the_o only_a sin_n of_o these_o time_n when_o have_v the_o mean_n of_o knowledge_n we_o care_v not_o for_o it_o but_o neglect_n and_o contemn_v it_o this_o be_v far_o worse_a than_o the_o former_a and_o if_o the_o former_a sort_n of_o ignorance_n will_v not_o excuse_v a_o man_n much_o less_o will_v this_o oh_o it_o be_v the_o sin_n of_o thousand_o in_o the_o world_n at_o this_o day_n that_o out_o of_o negligence_n and_o carelessness_n neglect_v the_o mean_n of_o knowledge_n offer_v unto_o they_o 4._o 2._o cor._n 4._o oh_o what_o a_o fearful_a sin_n be_v this_o consider_v that_o if_o the_o gospel_n be_v hide_v it_o be_v hide_v to_o they_o that_o perish_v and_o that_o christ_n jesus_n will_v come_v at_o the_o last_o to_o render_v vengeance_n

what_o profit_n shall_v we_o have_v if_o we_o shall_v pray_v unto_o he_o and_o again_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o serve_v the_o lord_n and_o what_o profit_n be_v it_o that_o we_o have_v keep_v his_o commandment_n poor_a soul_n they_o think_v themselves_o to_o be_v in_o good_a estate_n that_o they_o have_v knowledge_n enough_o so_o long_o as_o they_o can_v say_v the_o lord_n prayer_n the_o ten_o commandment_n and_o the_o creed_n and_o so_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o they_o despise_v knowledge_n and_o contemn_v the_o mean_n especial_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n they_o remain_v so_o blind_a and_o so_o ignorant_a as_o they_o be_v the_o three_o main_a cause_n of_o ignorance_n be_v man_n natural_a corruption_n 10.14_o 3_o natural_a corruption_n of_o man_n jer._n 10.14_o every_o man_n by_o nature_n be_v a_o beast_n by_o his_o own_o knowledge_n man_n by_o nature_n have_v no_o more_o knowledge_n of_o god_n than_o a_o beast_n when_o adam_n fall_v he_o lose_v that_o excellent_a knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o now_o by_o nature_n we_o be_v blind_a &_o ignorant_a without_o the_o true_a knowledge_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n till_o the_o lord_n do_v enlighten_v we_o and_o open_v our_o eye_n and_o reveal_v his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n unto_o we_o in_o the_o ministry_n of_o his_o word_n the_o glorious_a gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n now_o let_v we_o come_v to_o the_o remedy_n ignorance_n of_o god_n word_n be_v a_o great_a sin_n ignorance_n remedy_n of_o ignorance_n and_o a_o fearful_a judgement_n of_o god_n upon_o any_o people_n for_o they_o can_v never_o come_v to_o faith_n repentance_n obedience_n and_o etetnall_a life_n so_o long_o as_o they_o live_v in_o it_o no_o they_o must_v needs_o live_v in_o all_o sin_n against_o god_n and_o man_n well_o same_o 1_o to_o see_v our_o ignorance_n and_o to_o repent_v of_o the_o same_o will_v you_o know_v how_o to_o get_v out_o of_o your_o ignorance_n and_o so_o from_o under_o this_o fearful_a and_o heavy_a judgement_n of_o god_n that_o lie_v so_o heavy_a upon_o you_o will_v you_o come_v to_o knowledge_n to_o know_v god_n the_o father_n and_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n which_o be_v the_o only_a way_n
