they_o intend_v be_v in_o truth_n further_o off_o so_o it_o fare_v with_o many_o yea_o with_o all_o such_o as_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o reason_n and_o humane_a understanding_n they_o lose_v themselves_o in_o the_o wood_n &_o bush_n of_o their_o deep_a and_o learned_a speculation_n so_o that_o the_o long_o they_o travel_v the_o further_o they_o be_v from_o god_n and_o rest_n in_o he_o this_o rational_a habitation_n be_v also_o twofold_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o subject_a matter_n in_o and_o about_o which_o it_o be_v occupy_v viz._n humane_a or_o divine_a and_o in_o take_v a_o farewell_n of_o both_o these_o part_n of_o the_o rational_a contentment_n in_o this_o especial_o do_v the_o child_n of_o god_n outstrip_v the_o natural_a and_o verbal_a professor_n for_o the_o natural_a prefessor_n for_o so_o i_o call_v all_o brainsick_a disputer_n take_v a_o cold_a farewell_n of_o the_o sensual_a life_n only_o or_o rather_o he_o exchange_v his_o gross_a sensual_a life_n into_o a_o more_o close_o sensual_a life_n and_o commune_v partly_o in_o conceit_n and_o partly_o in_o truth_n out_o of_o the_o fleshly_a and_o sensual_a life_n he_o now_o arive_v in_o the_o haven_n of_o some_o speculation_n or_o knowledge_n either_o in_o thing_n humane_a or_o divine_a or_o in_o both_o so_o that_o this_o man_n by_o virtue_n of_o his_o knowledge_n can_v dispute_v and_o reason_n of_o the_o outward_a and_o bodily_a part_n of_o god_n worship_n he_o can_v discourse_v of_o white_a and_o black_a round_a and_o square_a of_o kneel_v and_o subscribe_v and_o run_v a_o infinite_a discourse_n against_o antichristian_a government_n and_o this_o rational_a discourse_n he_o call_v the_o language_n of_o canaan_n indeed_o so_o it_o be_v the_o language_n of_o canaan_n for_o other_o land_n of_o rest_n his_o heart_n know_v not_o than_o what_o arise_v from_o these_o thing_n wherein_o he_o be_v establish_v this_o speculation_n be_v his_o summum_fw-la bonum_fw-la and_o from_o this_o his_o knowledge_n and_o his_o work_n he_o deduct_v note_n and_o mark_n of_o his_o unfit_a faith_n and_o real_a fidelity_n suppose_v and_o imagine_v that_o he_o believe_v which_o faith_n never_o fail_v he_o till_o he_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o it_o but_o the_o true_a christian_a take_v his_o farewell_n as_o of_o the_o sensuality_n so_o of_o all_o rational_a contentment_n and_o bid_v all_o comprehensibleness_n farewell_n as_o be_v too_o weak_a and_o unworthy_a for_o his_o soul_n to_o have_v society_n withal_o and_o so_o become_v more_o strong_a in_o desire_n then_o curious_a in_o speculation_n and_o long_v more_o to_o feel_v communion_n with_o god_n then_o to_o be_v able_a to_o dispute_v of_o the_o genus_fw-la or_o species_n of_o any_o question_n humane_a or_o divine_a and_o thus_o in_o depth_n of_o desire_n be_v humble_v in_o the_o high_a degree_n of_o knowledge_n and_o press_v to_o know_v god_n in_o powerful_a experience_n this_o man_n do_v no_o long_o commit_v sacrilege_n or_o spiritual_a whotedome_n in_o the_o secret_a of_o his_o heart_n either_o with_o know_v or_o do_v though_o his_o knowledge_n be_v great_a and_o his_o obedience_n surpass_v many_o but_o be_v true_o nullify_v and_o make_v nothing_o and_o so_o be_v become_v a_o fool_n in_o all_o fleshly_a wisdom_n have_v nothing_o to_o glory_n in_o but_o only_o the_o lord_n second_o we_o be_v to_o the_o heart_n deni_v to_o receive_v any_o contentment_n from_o either_o of_o they_o we_o be_v to_o know_v that_o the_o christian_n can_v use_v the_o object_n of_o his_o sense_n as_o though_o he_o use_v they_o not_o and_o so_o the_o world_n and_o the_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n he_o be_v in_o the_o inward_o of_o his_o heart_n true_o go_v and_o separate_v in_o his_o affection_n from_o all_o create_v good_a so_o that_o this_o man_n do_v not_o stoical_o refuse_v the_o lawful_a liberty_n of_o any_o creature_n that_o god_n have_v make_v but_o whereas_o before_o they_o be_v as_o lord_n over_o profess_v what_o we_o will_v know_v what_o we_o can_v practise_v in_o religious_a exercise_n till_o nature_n be_v spend_v yet_o if_o there_o be_v a_o restless_a heart_n covet_v and_o long_v for_o more_o gain_n more_o glory_n etc._n etc._n this_o man_n have_v not_o know_v the_o peace_n of_o god_n but_o the_o peace_n which_o he_o have_v if_o he_o have_v any_o be_v a_o peace_n of_o his_o own_o frame_n and_o be_v attend_v with_o continual_a insatiety_n the_o second_o symptom_n of_o the_o heart_n arrival_n be_v the_o joy_n which_o it_o possess_v mary_n heart_n dorh_fw-mi magnify_v the_o lord_n and_o her_o spirit_n do_v rejoice_v in_o god_n her_o saviour_n the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v joy_n and_o how_o can_v they_o but_o rejoice_v in_o who_o it_o dwell_v yea_o such_o be_v this_o joy_n as_o it_o wipe_v away_o all_o sorrow_n in_o respect_n of_o that_o fear_n and_o torment_v which_o be_v in_o the_o conscience_n arise_v from_o god_n wrath_n from_o the_o believer_n eye_n i_o say_v not_o all_o sorrow_n for_o now_o this_o slavish_a sorrow_n arise_v from_o fear_n be_v do_v away_o there_o be_v beget_v another_o kind_n of_o grief_n in_o the_o soul_n viz._n a_o grief_n because_o the_o soul_n sin_v and_o not_o because_o it_o shall_v be_v punish_v for_o the_o love_n of_o god_n have_v cast_v out_o this_o fear_n so_o that_o this_o joy_n be_v a_o joy_n most_o unspeakable_a and_o glorious_a and_o this_o joy_n be_v that_o which_o reverend_a ward_n in_o his_o book_n call_v the_o life_n of_o faith_n do_v so_o extort_v as_o it_o be_v from_o a_o christian_a for_o he_o say_v plain_o that_o he_o will_v not_o believe_v that_o faith_n can_v be_v without_o joy_n and_o certain_o that_o joy_n must_v needs_o be_v great_a which_o be_v no_o other_o thing_n but_o god_n in_o power_n make_v glad_a the_o heart_n of_o man_n we_o see_v how_o great_o our_o affection_n of_o joy_n be_v move_v and_o stir_v with_o almost_o unspeakable_a delight_n in_o the_o real_a partake_n of_o some_o earthly_a endowment_n judge_v then_o how_o much_o more_o be_v they_o enlarge_v with_o joy_n which_o not_o
