part_n but_o if_o the_o eye_n be_v evil_a but_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v worldly_a set_v upon_o wealth_n either_o for_o itself_o or_o for_o those_o height_n or_o fine_a thing_n or_o pleasure_n which_o wealth_n do_v procure_v if_o it_o be_v unsatisfied_a in_o these_o thing_n for_o itself_o or_o envious_a at_o other_o for_o they_o the_o whole_a body_n will_v be_v full_a of_o darkness_n the_o whole_a life_n will_v be_v very_o un-christian_a such_o a_o disposition_n of_o mind_n as_o that_o quite_o draw_v a_o man_n off_o from_o the_o temper_n that_o christ_n require_v the_o unsatisfied_a the_o with_o several_a example_n and_o proof_n of_o this_o and_o it_o be_v a_o doctrine_n worth_a the_o take_a notice_n of_o it_o have_v prove_v to_o so_o many_o person_n a_o plea_n for_o action_n otherwise_o abominable_a they_o follow_v their_o conscience_n it_o be_v it_o may_v be_v mistake_v in_o judgement_n but_o it_o be_v uprightness_n of_o heart_n sincerity_n of_o conscience_n now_o to_o take_v off_o this_o colour_n which_o i_o shall_v do_v with_o all_o imaginable_a plainess_n our_o saviour_n john_n 16._o 2._o foretell_v to_o his_o disciple_n they_o shall_v put_v you_o out_o of_o the_o same_o jew_n s._n paul_n say_v rom._n 10._o 2._o i_o bear_v they_o record_v that_o they_o have_v a_o zeal_n of_o god_n but_o not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n that_o be_v i_o must_v testify_v a_o law_n of_o god_n then_o indeed_o outdate_v which_o yet_o through_o a_o zealous_a earnestness_n they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o but_o yet_o the_o follow_v this_o zeal_n and_o conscience_n be_v plague_v with_o total_a induration_n of_o of_o that_o people_n c._n 11._o 8_o 9_o 10._o nor_o be_v this_o s._n paul_n heat_n against_o that_o persecute_v nation_n but_o that_o apostle_n do_v more_o plain_o yet_o and_o home_n to_o our_o matter_n say_v of_o himself_o act_v 23._o 1._o i_o have_v live_v in_o all_o good_a conscience_n before_o god_n until_o this_o day_n i_o have_v all_o my_o life_n long_o sense_n shall_v be_v man_n of_o such_o faith_n and_o expectation_n as_o to_o trust_v and_o hope_n in_o thing_n that_o have_v so_o constant_o so_o daily_o mock_v their_o confidence_n and_o desire_n yet_o be_v not_o only_a infidel_n to_o all_o god_n bless_a preparation_n which_o they_o have_v nor_o reason_n nor_o experience_n against_o but_o also_o have_v no_o sense_n nor_o relish_v of_o himself_o in_o present_a not_o taste_v nor_o see_v how_o gracious_a the_o lord_n be_v it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o desire_n of_o earthly_a sensual_a thing_n do_v make_v the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n now_o though_o this_o doctrine_n be_v false_a and_o pernicious_a yet_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o torment_n must_v attend_v strong_a passion_n and_o most_o infinite_a desire_n which_o be_v radicate_v in_o the_o sinner_n heart_n and_o which_o he_o carry_v hence_o and_o can_v there_o deposit_v and_o to_o which_o yet_o satisfaction_n be_v impossible_a against_o his_o his_o water_n that_o he_o can_v reach_v or_o taste_v of_o be_v his_o lake_n of_o fire_n without_o metaphor_n so_o that_o desire_v alone_o without_o its_o satisfaction_n be_v so_o much_o of_o hell_n and_o yet_o this_o be_v the_o worldly_a sensual_a man_n estate_n exact_o here_o on_o earth_n for_o he_o have_v nothing_o but_o desire_n and_o lust_n and_o his_o condition_n be_v not_o easy_a at_o all_o for_o how_o be_v tantalus_n more_o wretched_a than_o a_o midas_n or_o than_o any_o covetous_a wretch_n who_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o affluence_n and_o heap_n hunger_n as_o much_o as_o midas_n do_v for_o meat_n and_o for_o gold_n too_o and_o a_o touch_n neither_o for_o his_o use_n so_o that_o the_o world_n delight_n be_v very_a like_o the_o misery_n of_o hell_n and_o man_n with_o so_o much_o eager_a and_o impatient_a pursuit_n do_v but_o anticipate_v their_o torment_n and_o invade_v damnation_n here_o and_o if_o the_o case_n be_v so_o sure_o there_o be_v no_o great_a self-denial_n in_o our_o psalmist_n here_o when_o he_o resolve_v to_o desire_v nothing_o upon_o earth_n in_o comparison_n of_o his_o god_n it_o be_v no_o such_o glorious_a conquest_n of_o my_o appetite_n to_o make_v it_o not_o pursue_v a_o present_a hell_n and_o a_o eternal_a one_o annex_v to_o it_o before_o a_o saviour_n yet_o the_o world_n do_v so_o some_o there_o be_v that_o desire_n money_n rather_o and_o although_o when_o judas_n do_v so_o this_o desire_n can_v not_o bear_v itself_o but_o cast_v all_o back_n again_o and_o though_o it_o do_v disgorge_v it_o burst_v he_o too_o the_o sin_n itself_o
