duty_n and_o give_v every_o man_n his_o own_o and_o this_o be_v the_o religion_n of_o the_o common_a protestant_n but_o suppose_v thou_o be_v thus_o guiltless_a as_o thou_o say_v yet_o be_v thou_o winter_n as_o well_o as_o summer_n her_o night_n as_o well_o as_o day_n sometime_o the_o sun_n of_o righteousness_n most_o comfortable_o shine_v and_o impart_v his_o heat_n and_o light_n by_o his_o near_a approach_n unto_o she_o yea_o and_o sometime_o there_o be_v two_o sun_n in_o this_o firmament_n for_o together_o with_o the_o sun_n of_o the_o church_n the_o sun_n of_o the_o world_n affoard_v warm_a and_o comfortable_a day_n for_o the_o full_a beauty_n liberty_n and_o glory_n of_o the_o church_n but_o sometime_o again_o this_o sun_n depart_v in_o dispeasure_n and_o carry_v the_o sun_n of_o the_o world_n with_o he_o then_o be_v a_o black_a winter_n of_o the_o church_n nothing_o but_o storm_n and_o tempest_n persecution_n and_o trial_n one_o in_o the_o neck_n of_o another_o and_o scarce_o one_o fair_a gleam_n between_o now_o in_o such_o time_n the_o poor_a church_n be_v drive_v to_o travel_v for_o rest_n and_o the_o innocent_a dove_n of_o christ_n can_v find_v in_o she_o own_o land_n any_o rest_n for_o the_o sole_a of_o her_o foot_n well_o may_v she_o fly_v abroad_o to_o seek_v her_o security_n in_o all_o which_o time_n every_o christian_a be_v bind_v by_o this_o and_o such_o like_a precept_n to_o give_v her_o harbour_n and_o safe_a conduct_n till_o the_o dash_n and_o storm_n be_v over_o beside_o suppose_v the_o church_n in_o general_a at_o her_o best_a estate_n yet_o commend_v to_o the_o charitable_a and_o christian_a devotion_n of_o christian_a man_n and_o bind_v they_o to_o the_o cheerful_a receive_n and_o relieve_v of_o they_o in_o such_o necessity_n let_v they_o be_v stranger_n yet_o if_o they_o be_v of_o the_o household_n of_o faith_n they_o have_v right_a to_o harbour_v and_o relief_n and_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o this_o duty_n the_o apostle_n require_v that_o the_o minister_n be_v the_o foreman_n second_o it_o will_v be_v inquire_v whether_o every_o minister_n must_v be_v harbourous_a and_o hospitable_a and_o if_o he_o must_v what_o shall_v become_v of_o they_o who_o living_n be_v scarce_o able_a to_o harbour_v themselves_o and_o much_o more_o of_o the_o swarm_n of_o our_o tenne-pound_n man_n and_o very_o many_o scarce_o half_a that_o to_o maintain_v their_o family_n it_o seem_v that_o every_o minister_n ought_v to_o be_v a_o rich_a man_n ans._n it_o be_v not_o for_o i_o to_o prescribe_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o church_n constitution_n concern_v impropriation_n and_o nonresidencie_n harbourâ—es_n the_o former_a whereof_o be_v they_o restore_v to_o the_o church_n and_o the_o latter_a remove_v out_o of_o the_o church_n no_o doubt_n there_o be_v but_o that_o sufficient_a minister_n may_v be_v sufficient_o maintain_v &_o furnish_v to_o hospitality_n through_o the_o land_n but_o this_o i_o say_v that_o the_o poor_a minister_n may_v not_o exempt_v himself_o from_o this_o duty_n neither_o be_v altogether_o disable_v from_o it_o a_o poor_a man_n may_v be_v merciful_a and_o comfortable_a to_o the_o distress_a some_o way_n or_o other_o as_o if_o with_o peter_n and_o john_n he_o have_v not_o money_n nor_o gold_n nor_o meat_n to_o give_v yet_o such_o as_o he_o have_v he_o can_v give_v he_o can_v give_v counsel_n prayer_n and_o afford_v his_o best_a affection_n 3.5_o such_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n shall_v not_o be_v unaccept_v nor_o unrewarded_a of_o he_o 10.42_o who_o property_n be_v to_o accpet_v a_o man_n according_a to_o that_o he_o have_v and_o not_o according_a to_o that_o he_o have_v not_o where_o he_o see_v a_o ready_a mind_n 8.12_o thus_o must_v that_o place_n 1._o tim._n 5.10_o be_v understand_v such_o widow_n as_o be_v to_o be_v receive_v into_o the_o service_n of_o the_o church_n be_v to_o be_v choose_v of_o such_o as_o have_v be_v hospitable_a and_o harberous_a now_o in_o all_o likelihood_n many_o of_o they_o if_o not_o the_o most_o be_v very_o poor_a and_o have_v no_o great_a matter_n to_o be_v liberal_a of_o &_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n seem_v in_o the_o next_o word_n to_o declare_v wherein_o this_o hospitality_n may_v be_v show_v even_o by_o such_o as_o have_v know_v want_n namely_o if_o they_o have_v perform_v bodily_a labour_n unto_o they_o wash_v the_o saint_n of_o life_n and_o heat_n and_o as_o the_o root_n of_o a_o tree_n afford_v life_n sap_n and_o quicken_a of_o grace_n to_o all_o the_o the_o part_n of_o obedience_n without_o which_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n in_o any_o thing_n 2._o outward_a such_o as_o be_v the_o true_a love_n of_o god_n and_o man_n for_o as_o it_o make_v we_o the_o son_n of_o god_n so_o it_o cause_v we_o to_o carry_v ourselves_o as_o child_n desirous_a to_o please_v our_o father_n in_o all_o thing_n to_o perform_v unto_o he_o all_o the_o part_n of_o his_o worship_n public_a and_o private_a to_o love_v his_o word_n to_o confess_v his_o truth_n though_o with_o the_o loss_n of_o our_o life_n to_o think_v of_o he_o to_o speak_v of_o he_o to_o delight_v in_o his_o presence_n and_o fellowship_n and_o give_v up_o ourselves_o whole_o to_o obey_v he_o in_o his_o commandment_n and_o correction_n again_o it_o make_v we_o to_o love_v god_n image_n in_o our_o brethren_n and_o out_o of_o this_o love_n issue_v a_o desire_n and_o endeavour_v to_o help_v they_o heavenward_o and_o care_v to_o perform_v all_o other_o office_n of_o love_n towards_o their_o outward_a man_n their_o person_n their_o life_n their_o good_n their_o name_n etc._n etc._n these_o be_v the_o bless_a fruit_n of_o that_o faith_n which_o be_v unfeigned_a 1._o tim._n 1.5_o which_o work_v by_o love_n gal._n 5.6_o and_o thus_o have_v we_o show_v the_o first_o point_n wherein_o the_o nature_n of_o sound_a faith_n stand_v the_o second_o point_n be_v why._n why_o soundness_n of_o faith_n be_v require_v rather_o of_o old_a man_n be_v a_o grace_n which_o every_o one_o young_a aswell_o as_o old_a must_v strive_v unto_o answ._n 1._o because_o they_o have_v have_v the_o use_n of_o the_o word_n long_o and_o therefore_o experience_n of_o god_n way_n and_o work_a shall_v show_v forth_o the_o power_n of_o faith_n unto_o other_o and_o therein_o become_v as_o clear_a pattern_n and_o precedent_n unto_o they_o and_o therefore_o whereas_o a_o lesser_a measure_n may_v be_v accept_v in_o the_o young_a yet_o for_o these_o to_o yield_v to_o doubt_v to_o waver_v in_o the_o truth_n to_o be_v corrupt_a in_o judgement_n to_o stick_v in_o extremity_n or_o faint_v in_o affliction_n be_v a_o great_a sin_n and_o more_o hateful_a unto_o god_n who_o more_o severe_o correct_v it_o in_o old_a man_n who_o shall_v be_v leader_n unto_o other_o yea_o although_o they_o be_v dear_a otherwise_o unto_o he_o moses_n himself_o if_o by_o doubt_v he_o shall_v dishonour_v god_n shall_v be_v bar_v the_o good_a land_n for_o it_o three_o their_o age_n and_o experience_n in_o all_o meeting_n must_v have_v the_o honour_n and_o place_n of_o speech_n when_o the_o young_a sort_n must_v either_o sit_v silent_a or_o with_o elihu_n speak_v in_o their_o turn_n when_o they_o have_v do_v of_o they_o the_o young_a expect_v solution_n of_o doubt_n and_o difficulty_n counsel_n in_o case_n of_o conscience_n and_o wise_a advice_n out_o of_o their_o experience_n now_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v taint_v with_o false_a opinion_n and_o dotage_n or_o shake_v as_o â—eeds_n in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n and_o truth_n they_o can_v but_o become_v hurtful_a and_o unprofitable_a unto_o such_o who_o eye_n be_v upon_o they_o when_o they_o see_v they_o as_o inconstant_a in_o the_o faith_n and_o as_o subject_a to_o waver_v and_o reel_v as_o namely_o that_o every_o man_n must_v labour_v to_o recompense_v the_o decay_n of_o nature_n with_o increase_n of_o grace_n the_o weakness_n of_o the_o body_n with_o soundness_n of_o mind_n the_o fail_v of_o the_o outward_a man_n with_o the_o fortify_v of_o the_o inward_a the_o wiseman_n wish_v tim_o to_o prepare_v against_o the_o inconvenience_n of_o old_a age_n with_o the_o remembrance_n of_o god_n in_o the_o youth_n 12.1_o how_o much_o more_o shall_v old_a man_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o ruin_n and_o decay_n by_o this_o mean_n repair_v and_o fortify_v themselves_o and_o the_o righteousness_n receive_v new_a vigour_n and_o strength_n not_o to_o flourish_v only_o but_o to_o be_v more_o fruitful_a than_o ever_o and_o whereas_o among_o man_n those_o that_o see_v old_a and_o decrepit_a age_n for_o want_n of_o natural_a heat_n and_o moisture_n shriule_n and_o die_v away_o yet_o even_o these_o same_o be_v true_a member_n of_o the_o church_n have_v once_o the_o life_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n breathe_v into_o their_o soul_n be_v never_o afterward_o destitute_a of_o radical_a heat_n and_o moisture_n but_o renew_v their_o age_n as_o the_o eagle_n and_o with_o their_o
