of_o false_a human_a and_o carnal_a virtue_n be_v less_o miserable_a than_o the_o way_n of_o vice_n we_o must_v needs_o say_v that_o all_o vice_n do_v grow_v of_o ignorance_n the_o spring_n and_o root_n of_o all_o error_n and_o evilles_n so_o that_o of_o a_o truth_n so_o much_o miserable_a a_o man_n be_v as_o he_o be_v gluttonous_a lecherous_a covetous_a envious_a ambitious_a proud_a partial_a or_o a_o servant_n of_o other_o vice_n and_o so_o much_o be_v a_o man_n happy_a as_o he_o be_v adorn_v with_o true_a virtue_n neither_o can_v the_o saint_n of_o god_n in_o what_o state_n soever_o they_o be_v find_v be_v right_o call_v miserable_a as_o neither_o the_o wicked_a can_v be_v call_v happy_a although_o the_o blind_a foolish_a frantic_a false_a lying_z and_o miserable_a world_n say_v and_o judge_v the_o contrary_a as_o also_o in_o judge_v the_o wise_a naught_o and_o fool_n good_a it_o be_v deceive_v for_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o a_o man_n in_o asmuch_o as_o he_o be_v good_a in_o somuch_o he_o must_v in_o deed_n be_v wise_a and_o as_o he_o be_v naught_o so_o much_o he_o be_v a_o fool_n blind_a and_o full_a of_o pernicyous_a ignorance_n as_o therefore_a felicity_n cannot_a be_v without_o virtue_n nor_o virtue_n without_o light_n and_o wisdom_n for_o that_o the_o one_o depend_v upon_o the_o other_o and_o they_o be_v link_a together_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o the_o one_o can_v spring_v grow_v nor_o decrease_v without_o the_o other_o so_o also_o misery_n can_v be_v without_o vice_n nor_o vice_n without_o ignorance_n then_o see_v that_o man_n be_v not_o move_v to_o do_v any_o thing_n by_o evil_a but_o by_o good_a only_o the_o which_o good_a be_v not_o find_v but_o only_o of_o those_o which_o walk_v by_o the_o way_n of_o virtue_n as_o also_o the_o evil_n be_v only_o find_v of_o those_o which_o walk_v by_o the_o path_n of_o vice_n we_o must_v needs_o say_v that_o they_o which_o leave_v virtue_n for_o vice_n sin_n through_o ignorance_n whereof_o grow_v all_o sin_n error_n misery_n and_o evil_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o all_o ignoraunce_n hurtful_a unto_o the_o soul_n do_v spring_n of_o the_o ignorance_n or_o want_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o of_o their_o chief_a and_o principal_a head_n like_v as_o all_o our_o true_a and_o wholesome_a light_n do_v grow_v and_o have_v the_o first_o beginning_n of_o the_o light_n which_o we_o have_v of_o god_n therefore_o we_o must_v of_o necessity_n say_v that_o of_o the_o ignorance_n of_o god_n grow_v all_o our_o evil_n and_o all_o our_o goodness_n come_v of_o that_o clear_a light_n which_o we_o have_v of_o his_o bounty_n inasmuch_o as_o that_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a for_o we_o to_o have_v a_o lyvely_a &_o clear_a knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o to_o dishonour_v he_o yea_o it_o love_n when_o it_o be_v set_v upon_o creature_n be_v no_o more_o so_o sincere_a a_o love_n nor_o so_o pure_a spiritual_a divine_a and_o full_a of_o charity_n as_o it_o be_v when_o it_o seek_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o furtherance_n of_o his_o gospel_n but_o be_v carnal_a &_o profane_a so_o when_o our_o hope_n be_v set_v on_o pleasure_n treasure_n honour_n dignity_n and_o felicity_n without_o be_v direct_v and_o elevate_v unto_o god_n they_o be_v no_o true_a hope_n but_o false_a vain_a and_o deceitful_a see_v then_o the_o true_a hope_n be_v found_v whole_o upon_o god_n and_o who_o so_o have_v he_o alone_o for_o his_o refuge_n and_o end_n can_v not_o be_v confound_v yea_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o we_o obtain_v all_o that_o which_o with_o the_o say_a hope_n we_o look_v and_o safe_a expectation_n that_o god_n will_v grant_v i_o that_o be_v for_o his_o glory_n like_a as_o if_o for_o a_o example_n i_o hope_v to_o have_v at_o god_n hand_n some_o temporal_a benefit_n either_o corporal_a or_o spiritual_a this_o hope_n in_o i_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o spiritual_a desire_n that_o i_o have_v of_o the_o foresay_a thing_n for_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o not_o for_o my_o own_o gain_n with_o a_o sure_a and_o certain_a expectation_n that_o god_n will_v give_v it_o i_o when_o it_o be_v for_o his_o glory_n not_o for_o any_o merit_n of_o i_o but_o only_o for_o his_o mere_a goodness_n and_o for_o christ_n who_o die_v for_o i_o upon_o the_o cross_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o heaven_n we_o shall_v have_v all_o that_o we_o can_v and_o aught_o to_o desire_v therefore_o be_v without_o desire_n and_o expectation_n of_o any_o better_a thing_n we_o shall_v be_v also_o without_o hope_v as_o paul_n do_v write_v 13_o 1._o cor._n 13_o and_o here_o it_o may_v be_v see_v how_o they_o be_v deceive_v which_o say_v that_o a_o man_n may_v believe_v both_o good_a and_o evil_a but_o no_o man_n can_v hope_v for_o any_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o be_v good_a nor_o fear_v any_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o be_v evil_a so_o that_o according_a to_o their_o opinion_n a_o man_n may_v agreeable_o say_v i_o believe_v that_o i_o shall_v have_v prosperity_n and_o also_o adversity_n but_o a_o man_n can_v congruent_o say_v i_o trust_v that_o i_o shall_v have_v adversity_n but_o he_o must_v say_v i_o fear_v that_o i_o shall_v have_v adversity_n and_o i_o hope_v that_o i_o shall_v have_v prosperity_n this_o their_o opinion_n be_v false_a forasmuch_o as_o albeit_o adversity_n can_v not_o be_v desire_v of_o carnal_a man_n nor_o therefore_o be_v hope_v for_o because_o they_o account_v adversity_n to_o be_v a_o naughty_a thing_n yet_o notwithstanding_o spiritual_a man_n which_o know_v that_o adversity_n be_v good_a and_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n can_v both_o desire_n and_o hope_n for_o it_o so_o that_o a_o good_a christian_a may_v congruentlye_o say_v i_o hope_v that_o god_n of_o his_o mere_a goodness_n and_o grace_n will_v give_v i_o adversity_n with_o grant_v i_o patience_n and_o further_o that_o he_o will_v do_v thus_o much_o favour_n that_o i_o may_v spend_v my_o blood_n for_o his_o glory_n then_o see_v that_o hope_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o godly_a and_o spiritual_a desire_n that_o we_o have_v of_o thing_n for_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n with_o a_o sure_a and_o certain_a expectation_n that_o god_n for_o christ_n and_o his_o mere_a goodness_n will_v give_v they_o we_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o shall_v be_v to_o his_o glory_n it_o be_v of_o necessity_n that_o this_o hope_n can_v never_o be_v confound_v but_o shall_v obtain_v all_o thing_n and_o this_o because_o that_o such_o desire_n and_o spiritual_a expectation_n have_v not_o for_o foundation_n refuge_n and_o end_n any_o other_o but_o god_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v say_v that_o they_o be_v of_o god_n wherefore_o not_o vain_a god_n be_v he_o that_o give_v i_o that_o desire_n which_o be_v my_o guide_n i_o wish_v to_o have_v those_o thing_n to_o the_o
