or_o will_v be_v rooted-out_a if_o this_o be_v general_o practise_v and_o that_o be_v all_o the_o defendant_n desire_v who_o honour_n the_o king_n person_n and_o authority_n as_o much_o as_o the_o he_o force_v or_o the_o like_a and_o then_o resistance_n shall_v be_v as_o well_o lawful_a as_o if_o he_o be_v absent_a or_o even_o necessary_a to_o rescue_v he_o out_o of_o such_o wicked_a hand_n command_n of_o a_o bewitch_v or_o distract_a person_n to_o the_o ruin_n of_o religion_n law_n and_o liberty_n still_o preserve_v his_o person_n safe_a 6._o suppose_v it_o be_v certain_a he_o be_v not_o force_v nor_o bewitch_v nor_o distract_v yet_o do_v as_o bad_a as_o any_o force_a bewitch_v or_o distract_a person_n can_v possible_o do_v by_o command_v such_o tyrannical_a act_n what_o reason_n can_v be_v imagine_v why_o such_o a_o command_n shall_v tie_v subject_n hand_n from_o resist_v his_o follower_n offer_v to_o act_v his_o tyranny_n more_o than_o if_o he_o be_v force_v bewitch_v or_o distract_v be_v the_o liberty_n of_o his_o body_n and_o mind_n from_o those_o violence_n a_o enslave_v of_o his_o people_n to_o his_o lawless_a lust_n of_o cruelty_n and_o mischief_n 6._o if_o he_o say_v further_o that_o even_o his_o officer_n or_o soldier_n if_o they_o have_v his_o seal_n or_o warrant_n may_v not_o be_v resist_v in_o the_o remote_a country_n then_o beside_o the_o counterfeit_a seal_n and_o warrant_n kill_v all_o the_o king_n faithful_a subject_n and_o strengthen_v so_o himself_o and_o his_o party_n as_o the_o king_n shall_v after_o have_v no_o power_n to_o save_v himself_o law_n observe_v will_v secure_v sufficient_o from_o this_o and_o liberty_n to_o resist_v illegal_a violence_n will_v appear_v to_o be_v necessary_a to_o the_o king_n safety_n as_o well_o as_o the_o subject_n king_n have_v seldom_o or_o never_o be_v murder_v or_o depose_v where_o law_n have_v be_v preserve_v in_o their_o vigour_n but_o often_o where_o illegal_a violence_n have_v have_v place_n let_v this_o also_o not_o be_v forget_v 7._o well_o but_o thus_o the_o case_n i_o suppose_v be_v understand_v if_o not_o by_o the_o doctor_n yet_o by_o the_o general_a of_o those_o that_o take_v the_o king_n part_n against_o the_o parliament_n that_o neither_o the_o king_n in_o person_n nor_o any_o of_o his_o officer_n or_o soldier_n that_o have_v commission_n from_o he_o may_v be_v resist_v because_o that_o be_v to_o resist_v the_o king_n which_o say_v they_o all_o the_o apostle_n forbid_v and_o threaten_v rom._n 13.2_o but_o here_o again_o i_o blame_v the_o doctor_n negligent_a handle_n of_o that_o place_n upon_o divers_a consideration_n further_o 1._o without_o doubt_v the_o first_o verse_n be_v to_o be_v regard_v as_o be_v the_o foundation_n of_o the_o second_o as_o appear_v by_o the_o word_n therefore_o yet_o that_o he_o have_v great_o neglect_v perhaps_o for_o fear_v the_o scan_n of_o it_o will_v do_v he_o a_o ill_a turn_n as_o i_o shall_v by_o and_o by_o chance_n as_o i_o think_v high_o power_v for_o high_a power_n and_o so_o never_o to_o tell_v we_o whether_o the_o other_o power_n who_o be_v high_o in_o relation_n to_o the_o common-people_n though_o inferior_a in_o relation_n to_o the_o supreme_a s._n peter_n governor_n may_v be_v resist_v or_o not_o even_o with_o arms._n perhaps_o this_o fraudulent_o also_o 3._o in_o the_o second_o verse_n he_o be_v very_o careless_a to_o tell_v we_o whether_o resistance_n which_o be_v three_o time_n in_o english_a but_o there_o be_v two_o greek_a word_n the_o first_o be_v different_a from_o the_o second_o and_o three_o signify_v all_o kind_n of_o opposition_n though_o without_o arm_n to_o the_o high_a and_o supreme_a power_n at_o least_o but_o then_o much_o more_o with_o arm_n or_o whether_o it_o only_o signify_v resist_v with_o arm_n and_o no_o other_o there_o forbid_a and_o make_v damnable_a yet_o this_o a_o needful_a question_n for_o a_o conscience_n to_o be_v resolve_v in_o and_o more_o ordinary_o then_o about_o resist_v and_o so_o will_v well_o have_v become_v the_o doctor_n learning_n and_o pretend_a care_n of_o conscience_n and_o even_o regard_n of_o authority_n to_o have_v sit_v now_o that_o such_o a_o kind_n of_o power_n be_v in_o the_o judge_n i_o appeal_v to_o experience_n in_o the_o case_n follow_v a_o private_a man_n have_v a_o suit_n with_o the_o king_n about_o land_n or_o house_n and_o the_o like_a the_o king_n have_v possession_n and_o some_o officer_n or_o tenant_n of_o his_o hold_n it_o for_o the_o king_n the_o judge_n have_v hear_v the_o cause_n give_v sentence_n for_o the_o subject_a adjudge_v he_o to_o have_v the_o possession_n deliver_v he_o by_o the_o king_n tenant_n or_o officer_n he_o refuse_v and_o arm_n himself_o to_o keep_v possession_n still_o upon_o this_o after_o due_a summons_n and_o process_n of_o law_n a_o writ_n of_o rebellion_n shall_v go_v out_o against_o the_o officer_n of_o the_o king_n even_o though_o he_o shall_v list_v and_o they_o for_o want_v of_o a_o parliament_n call_v or_o sit_v dare_v not_o defend_v themselves_o at_o all_o but_o if_o he_o find_v that_o they_o believe_v no_o such_o doctrine_n but_o without_o dispute_n of_o law_n or_o conscience_n resolve_v rustical_o not_o to_o be_v rob_v of_o their_o good_n at_o pleasure_n or_o use_v like_o mere_a slave_n but_o that_o they_o will_v defend_v follower_n unto_o they_o as_o â—mpâ—oâ—_n and_o dudley_n be_v in_o the_o begin_n of_o h._n the_o 8._o though_o they_o proceed_v with_o colour_n of_o the_o penal_a law_n and_o even_o to_o provide_v for_o his_o own_o maintenance_n as_o 〈◊〉_d â—_o in_o such_o a_o case_n some_o against_o his_o will_n call_v a_o parliament_n anno_fw-la of_o his_o reign_n and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v he_o will_v not_o he_o dare_v not_o hearken_v to_o those_o that_o will_v persuade_v he_o to_o dissolve_v it_o because_o than_o he_o shall_v bring_v all_o confusion_n beside_o want_n upon_o himself_o again_o aid_n etc._n etc._n if_o he_o mean_v in_o parliament_n such_o a_o prince_n never_o mean_v to_o call_v any_o if_o out_o of_o parliament_n this_o be_v the_o grievance_n that_o he_o take_v it_o against_o than_o 60._o that_o be_v of_o a_o different_a judgement_n and_o withdraw_v repl._n satisfaction_n may_v well_o be_v give_v first_o by_o say_v it_o be_v evident_a the_o major_a part_n of_o the_o peer_n whether_o their_o refuse_v to_o concur_v in_o the_o relief_n of_o ireland_n and_o in_o secure_v the_o kingdom_n even_o in_o petition_v the_o king_n for_o the_o settle_n of_o the_o militia_n which_o yet_o the_o king_n after_o acknowledge_v necessary_a to_o be_v settle_v be_v not_o the_o true_a and_o only_a cause_n of_o those_o tumult_n that_o be_v and_o if_o so_o where_o be_v their_o judgement_n to_o see_v the_o mean_n of_o safety_n or_o their_o conscience_n to_o provide_v for_o it_o and_o then_o whether_o their_o own_o guilt_n do_v not_o more_o send_v or_o drive_v they_o away_o than_o any_o violence_n of_o the_o tumult_n which_o tumult_n yet_o i_o approve_v not_o nor_o ever_o do_v but_o if_o god_n so_o punish_v those_o that_o will_v not_o discharge_v the_o trust_n it_o be_v easy_a to_o answer_v that_o question_n why_o so_o many_o remain_v shall_v see_v more_o that_o be_v better_a then_o thrice_o so_o many_o if_o so_o many_o dissent_v and_o withdraw_v as_o for_o the_o question_n be_v now_o state_v of_o a_o prince_n bend_v to_o subvert_v religion_n law_n and_o liberty_n for_o we_o be_v still_o upon_o that_o general_a supposition_n in_o this_o section_n for_o whatever_o they_o see_v he_o will_v be_v sure_a as_o far_o as_o he_o see_v his_o own_o strength_n to_o consent_v to_o nothing_o that_o shall_v hinder_v his_o design_n and_o therefore_o to_o plead_v and_o then_o come_v in_o that_o manner_n to_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o to_o demand_v those_o five_o and_o whereas_o the_o doctor_n say_v the_o king_n be_v bind_v by_o oath_n to_o maintain_v the_o government_n and_o revenue_n as_o by_o law_n they_o be_v establish_v repl._n 1_o he_o discover_v a_o secret_a to_o we_o which_o we_o understand_v not_o before_o all_o man_n stand_v amaze_v at_o the_o late_a oath_n to_o this_o effect_n for_o the_o government_n and_o among_o other_o argument_n against_o it_o not_o a_o few_o considerable_a man_n of_o the_o ministry_n and_o gentry_n before_o the_o all_o the_o ministry_n and_o university_n and_o master_n of_o art_n and_o schoolmaster_n and_o physician_n who_o will_v have_v have_v influence_n enough_o into_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n within_o
