here_o we_o may_v observe_v a_o notable_a fruit_n of_o rebellion_n for_o so_o long_o as_o the_o israelite_n serve_v god_n who_o service_n indeed_o be_v the_o only_a true_a liberty_n they_o be_v free_v from_o all_o servitude_n and_o bondage_n but_o when_o they_o refuse_v to_o serve_v god_n as_o their_o lord_n and_o master_n &_o will_v not_o be_v rule_v by_o his_o word_n and_o spirit_n they_o be_v compel_v to_o serve_v crueli_a tyrant_n in_o a_o miserable_a and_o perpetual_a servitude_n yea_o which_o be_v worse_o they_o be_v not_o only_o the_o captive_n of_o their_o enemy_n but_o the_o perpetual_a bondslave_n of_o their_o arch_a enemy_n the_o devil_n as_o many_o as_o do_v not_o turn_v unto_o god_n and_o again_o betake_v themselves_o to_o his_o service_n three_o whereas_o the_o lord_n pronounce_v this_o definitive_a 20_o release_v from_o temporal_a affliction_n do_v not_o always_o follow_v true_a repentance_n hos_fw-la 1._o 10._o 2._o 20_o sentence_n that_o he_o will_v never_o have_v pity_n on_o they_o to_o deliver_v they_o out_o of_o their_o bondage_n and_o yet_o upon_o the_o true_a repentance_n of_o many_o of_o they_o pardon_v their_o sin_n and_o receive_v they_o and_o the_o rest_n but_o this_o mercy_n be_v promise_v unto_o they_o first_o because_o they_o do_v not_o go_v forward_o in_o these_o sin_n with_o such_o obstinacy_n and_o impenitency_n as_o the_o israelite_n do_v but_o under_o the_o government_n of_o their_o godly_a king_n jehosaphat_n ezechias_n josias_n and_o the_o rest_n oftentimes_o return_v again_o to_o the_o lord_n by_o true_a repentance_n and_o forsake_v their_o idolatry_n restore_v god_n pure_a worship_n and_o service_n and_o after_o they_o be_v lead_v captive_a they_o make_v profitable_a use_n of_o their_o affliction_n and_o which_o be_v worst_a of_o all_o they_o combine_v themselves_o with_o the_o syrian_n the_o enemy_n of_o god_n &_o conspire_v how_o they_o may_v bring_v the_o poor_a afflict_a kingdom_n of_o off_o as_o be_v a_o desperate_a cure_n and_o final_o reject_v they_o from_o be_v his_o church_n and_o people_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o present_o execute_v this_o last_o punishment_n after_o he_o have_v inflict_v the_o former_a for_o after_o they_o be_v lead_v into_o captivity_n and_o live_v as_o captive_n in_o the_o land_n of_o the_o mede_n under_o the_o empire_n and_o government_n of_o the_o the_o mede_n prevail_v against_o the_o assyrian_n they_o be_v drive_v out_o of_o the_o country_n of_o the_o mede_n and_o scatter_v into_o diverse_a part_n of_o the_o world_n so_o as_o they_o can_v not_o any_o more_o assemble_v together_o nor_o exercise_v their_o own_o worship_n nor_o use_v their_o own_o ceremony_n and_o so_o mix_v themselves_o in_o marriage_n with_o the_o gentile_n and_o embrace_v their_o religion_n they_o be_v whole_o exclude_v out_o of_o god_n covenant_n and_o lose_v both_o the_o name_n and_o privilege_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v number_v among_o pagan_n and_o infidel_n but_o here_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v how_o this_o can_v stand_v objection_n with_o god_n covenant_n make_v unto_o the_o posterity_n not_o only_o of_o juda_n but_o of_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n and_o how_o it_o can_v agree_v with_o the_o word_n follow_v that_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n shall_v be_v as_o the_o sand_n of_o the_o sea_n etc._n etc._n i_o answer_v that_o howsoever_o the_o answer_n lord_n reject_v the_o whole_a body_n and_o common_a wealth_n of_o israel_n general_o consider_v yet_o not_o all_o and_o every_o person_n among_o the_o israelite_n for_o he_o word_n in_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o prophet_n &_o expect_v the_o execution_n of_o those_o punishment_n which_o be_v threaten_v against_o their_o country_n leave_v their_o own_o habitation_n and_o adjoin_v themselves_o to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o juda_n and_o be_v lead_v captive_a with_o they_o into_o babylon_n and_o likewise_o with_o they_o return_v out_o of_o their_o captivity_n as_o appear_v ezra_n 2._o 2._o ezra_n 2._o moreover_o god_n no_o doubt_n have_v his_o number_n among_o those_o who_o be_v lead_v captive_a by_o salmanasser_n who_o though_o they_o lose_v the_o outward_a name_n of_o god_n people_n and_o the_o note_n of_o a_o visible_a church_n the_o purity_n of_o doctrine_n public_o preach_v and_o the_o right_a use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n public_o administer_v yet_o they_o want_v not_o the_o spiritual_a grace_n of_o his_o spirit_n not_o be_v exclude_v out_o of_o his_o church_n invisible_a and_o howsoever_o they_o be_v reject_v from_o the_o old_a covenant_n yet_o they_o have_v their_o part_n in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n last_o for_o the_o future_a time_n many_o of_o these_o who_o be_v scatter_v over_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n after_o the_o come_n and_o ascension_n of_o christ_n be_v by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o god_n minister_n convert_v to_o the_o faith_n and_o receive_v together_o with_o the_o gentile_n into_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o admit_v as_o true_a subject_n of_o christ_n kingdom_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o because_o the_o great_a number_n of_o the_o people_n who_o be_v lead_v captive_a neglect_n and_o contempt_n of_o god_n judgement_n so_o that_o this_o physic_n of_o god_n correction_n either_o work_v upon_o the_o conscience_n and_o purge_v away_o the_o corruption_n of_o sin_n or_o if_o it_o have_v no_o operation_n it_o make_v the_o party_n disease_v worse_o than_o he_o be_v before_o and_o move_v the_o lord_n our_o physician_n to_o administer_v a_o purgation_n of_o great_a force_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o make_v profitable_a use_n of_o lesser_a punishment_n or_o else_o the_o lord_n will_v inflict_v those_o which_o be_v more_o grievous_a either_o till_o not_o spare_v we_o who_o be_v but_o wild_a branch_n as_o the_o apostle_n reason_v rom._n 11._o 21._o message_n rom._n 11._o 21._o the_o prophet_n holy_a boldness_n in_o deliver_v his_o message_n five_o we_o be_v to_o observe_v that_o when_o the_o prophet_n threaten_v against_o the_o people_n their_o final_a rejection_n they_o be_v in_o a_o most_o flourish_a and_o prosperous_a estate_n and_o therefore_o no_o doubt_n give_v small_a credit_n to_o the_o prophet_n word_n it_o be_v a_o ambassage_n exceed_v dangerous_a expose_v he_o to_o the_o malice_n and_o outrage_n of_o a_o insolent_a
