it_o put_v a_o drop_n of_o wine_n into_o the_o sea_n it_o be_v change_v into_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o sea_n and_o so_o though_o we_o can_v be_v change_v into_o the_o divine_a nature_n yet_o we_o shall_v be_v swallow_v up_o in_o god_n so_o as_o we_o shall_v not_o any_o further_a mind_n ourselves_o our_o own_o good_a as_o a_o create_a thing_n nor_o ourselves_o as_o creature_n but_o altogether_o god_n our_o mind_n shall_v be_v so_o whole_o upon_o god_n as_o if_o they_o be_v whole_o empty_v of_o any_o create_v good_a and_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v but_o with_o a_o increated_a good_a it_o shall_v not_o will_v any_o thing_n to_o itself_o nor_o to_o any_o other_o creature_n but_o all_o to_o god_n and_o so_o whole_o take_v upon_o with_o god_n and_o upon_o that_o ground_n because_o they_o have_v that_o likeness_n unto_o god_n and_o partake_v of_o the_o divine_a nature_n here_o we_o do_v good_a to_o other_o because_o of_o their_o likeness_n to_o ourselves_o but_o the_o saint_n shall_v will_v all_o good_a to_o god_n not_o because_o god_n be_v like_o they_o but_o because_o they_o be_v like_a to_o god_n so_o that_o they_o shall_v love_v themselves_o for_o god_n there_o be_v three_o degree_n of_o love_n to_o god_n love_v god_n of_o god_n for_o ourselves_o and_o love_a god_n for_o himself_o and_o love_v ourselves_o for_o god_n the_o one_o be_v but_o a_o natural_a love_n the_o second_o be_v a_o gracious_a love_n the_o three_o be_v a_o love_n of_o the_o glorify_a saint_n first_o to_o love_n god_n for_o ourselves_o so_o a_o hypocrite_n may_v love_v god_n because_o he_o have_v gift_n and_o many_o blessing_n from_o god_n this_o be_v but_o a_o natural_a love_n but_o grace_n go_v further_a than_o nature_n that_o be_v to_o love_n god_n for_o himself_o though_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v any_o thing_n yet_o if_o we_o be_v gracious_a we_o love_v god_n for_o himself_o but_o the_o glorify_a saint_n go_v further_o than_o grace_n and_o that_o be_v to_o love_v themselves_o for_o god_n whereas_o heretofore_o we_o do_v only_a love_n god_n for_o ourselves_o or_o for_o himself_o now_o we_o come_v to_o love_v ourselves_o for_o god_n and_o in_o this_o kind_n of_o love_n of_o god_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o ourselves_o in_o he_o the_o soul_n shall_v be_v ravish_v with_o god_n and_o be_v in_o a_o kind_n of_o ecstasy_n eternal_o now_o there_o be_v a_o twofold_a ecstasy_n one_o that_o be_v through_o the_o weakness_n of_o the_o inferior_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n when_o the_o mind_n of_o a_o man_n be_v take_v up_o about_o a_o high_a object_n serious_o the_o other_o faculty_n be_v weak_a they_o fail_v and_o so_o man_n come_v to_o be_v in_o a_o trance_n and_o ecstasy_n many_o have_v have_v great_a joy_n that_o they_o have_v even_o die_v discern_v with_o it_o the_o heart_n have_v so_o dilate_v itself_o as_o the_o vital_a spirit_n have_v fly_v out_o but_o there_o be_v a_o ecstasy_n come_v from_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o object_n that_o the_o mind_n be_v busy_v about_o but_o without_o any_o weariness_n of_o any_o inferior_a faculty_n if_o then_o we_o put_v all_o together_o that_o have_v be_v say_v about_o god_n and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o have_v god_n to_o be_v the_o portion_n of_o the_o saint_n you_o see_v the_o principal_a part_n of_o heaven_n and_o the_o spiritual_a part_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o saint_n here_o be_v faith_n call_v for_o and_o why_o shall_v not_o our_o faith_n go_v beyond_o reason_n to_o rectify_v reason_n as_o reason_n rectify_v sense_n these_o thing_n be_v high_a and_o great_a mystery_n when_o as_o reason_n say_v how_o can_v this_o be_v as_o when_o christ_n be_v speak_v of_o the_o new_a birth_n say_v nicodemus_n how_o can_v this_o be_v let_v but_o faith_n get_v as_o far_o above_o reason_n as_o reason_n have_v get_v above_o sense_n and_o we_o may_v easy_o see_v how_o they_o can_v be_v by_o sense_n if_o a_o man_n look_v up_o to_o the_o firmament_n and_o see_v the_o sun_n shine_v he_o will_v think_v it_o be_v little_o big_a than_o a_o bushel_n or_o the_o like_a now_o reason_n will_v tell_v man_n otherwise_o reason_n that_o tell_v man_n that_o this_o creature_n that_o appear_v to_o be_v but_o in_o this_o bigness_n it_o be_v many_o hundred_o time_n big_a than_o the_o earth_n now_o if_o reason_n can_v rectify_v sense_n so_o far_o why_o shall_v not_o faith_n go_v beyond_o reason_n as_o far_o now_o reason_n will_v tell_v we_o of_o much_o happiness_n that_o may_v be_v have_v we_o may_v conceive_v by_o reason_n by_o understanding_n that_o the_o rational_a creature_n be_v capable_a of_o abundance_n of_o glory_n but_o when_o you_o hear_v thing_n deliver_v by_o the_o word_n which_o be_v more_o than_o reason_n can_v conceive_v let_v we_o get_v faith_n to_o rectify_v reason_n and_o we_o shall_v not_o call_v those_o truth_n into_o question_n and_o yet_o know_v that_o our_o glory_n will_v be_v beyond_o our_o faith_n as_o our_o faith_n be_v beyond_o our_o reason_n here_o you_o may_v see_v that_o most_o people_n in_o the_o world_n arise_v mistake_v heaven_n and_o look_v at_o heaven_n in_o a_o sensual_a manner_n when_o we_o speak_v of_o heaven_n where_o have_v we_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o look_v at_o heaven_n in_o these_o spiritual_a excellency_n about_o enjoy_v god_n in_o this_o manner_n as_o the_o jew_n look_v for_o a_o carnal_a messiah_n who_o kingdom_n shall_v be_v in_o the_o earth_n and_o who_o glory_n shall_v be_v external_a not_o consider_v the_o spiritual_a kingdom_n of_o christ_n so_o most_o in_o the_o world_n look_v but_o for_o a_o carnal_a heaven_n it_o be_v a_o good_a evidence_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o grace_n if_o you_o can_v look_v to_o heaven_n with_o a_o right_a eye_n in_o a_o right_a manner_n to_o look_v at_o the_o spiritual_a part_n and_o spiritual_a excellency_n in_o heaven_n but_o that_o which_o make_v people_n to_o call_v these_o thing_n in_o question_n be_v first_o because_o they_o be_v not_o acquaint_v with_o god_n but_o be_v sensual_a their_o heart_n be_v acquaint_v with_o nothing_o but_o sensual_a and_o earthly_a thing_n and_o therefore_o their_o heart_n be_v not_o raise_v to_o these_o thing_n but_o they_o look_v at_o they_o as_o notion_n but_o that_o soul_n that_o be_v acquaint_v with_o god_n and_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n and_o
many_o pollution_n and_o many_o sin_n and_o yet_o at_o last_o lose_v all_o this_o reward_n for_o close_v with_o some_o secret_a sin_n o_o take_v heed_n lest_o this_o be_v any_o of_o your_o portion_n you_o have_v be_v vile_a and_o you_o have_v reform_v your_o way_n in_o many_o thing_n and_o be_v not_o guilty_a of_o such_o and_o such_o sin_n as_o you_o be_v before_o but_o look_v to_o yourselves_o that_o you_o do_v not_o lose_v all_o this_o reward_n for_o some_o one_o sin_n at_o last_o let_v they_o do_v what_o they_o will_v in_o profession_n if_o their_o heart_n do_v not_o come_v off_o from_o every_o sin_n it_o be_v all_o nothing_o not_o but_o that_o there_o may_v be_v some_o remainder_n of_o sin_n and_o yet_o the_o heart_n be_v take_v off_o from_o every_o sin_n but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o secret_a close_n with_o any_o sin_n all_o your_o profession_n and_o the_o leave_v of_o all_o the_o other_o be_v to_o no_o purpose_n it_o will_v never_o bring_v you_o to_o this_o reward_n as_o suppose_v a_o wife_n shall_v be_v very_o serviceable_a to_o her_o husband_n in_o many_o thing_n and_o forsake_v many_o lover_n yet_o if_o she_o entertain_v but_o any_o one_o lover_n beside_o her_o husband_n her_o husband_n do_v not_o care_n for_o all_o her_o service_n and_o respect_n and_o so_o it_o be_v with_o those_o that_o make_v profession_n look_v that_o there_o be_v no_o one_o secret_a sin_n lodge_v in_o your_o heart_n if_o there_o be_v you_o will_v lose_v all_o it_o be_v a_o vexation_n to_o lysimachus_n a_o king_n that_o his_o stay_n to_o drink_v one_o draught_n of_o water_n lose_v he_o his_o kingdom_n and_o so_o it_o will_v be_v a_o vexation_n to_o any_o that_o have_v go_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n that_o he_o have_v lose_v heaven_n for_o one_o sin_n it_o be_v a_o grievous_a affliction_n upon_o moses_n that_o he_o come_v towards_o canaan_n within_o the_o sight_n of_o it_o and_o yet_o for_o one_o sin_n not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n at_o the_o water_n of_o meribah_n he_o be_v deprive_v of_o it_o it_o go_v to_o his_o heart_n and_o so_o it_o will_v be_v a_o grievous_a thing_n when_o you_o shall_v come_v towards_o heaven_n and_o for_o one_o sin_n not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n as_o you_o ought_v you_o shall_v be_v deprive_v of_o heavenly_a canaan_n many_o prodigal_n have_v a_o inheritance_n and_o at_o one_o cast_v of_o the_o dice_n lose_v it_o to_o lose_v this_o inheritance_n at_o one_o cast_n be_v a_o grievous_a thing_n a_o man_n may_v escape_v many_o wound_n and_o shot_n in_o the_o war_n and_o yet_o may_v be_v kill_v at_o last_o with_o the_o wound_n of_o a_o penknife_n or_o the_o wound_n of_o a_o pin_n or_o needle_n so_o many_o that_o have_v escape_v many_o gross_a sin_n may_v by_o some_o little_a secret_a lust_n be_v deprive_v of_o the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n you_o that_o be_v go_v on_o in_o this_o way_n that_o tend_v to_o the_o reward_n take_v heed_n you_o do_v not_o lose_v all_o for_o some_o one_o sin_n three_o those_o that_o you_o be_v near_o your_o end_n as_o christ_n say_v to_o the_o young_a man_n he_o be_v not_o far_o from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n as_o the_o israelite_n be_v within_o a_o few_o day_n journey_n of_o canaan_n and_o yet_o lose_v it_o so_o many_o though_o they_o be_v near_o in_o their_o profession_n and_o have_v have_v as_o it_o be_v the_o taste_n of_o heaven_n yet_o turn_v back_o again_o they_o lose_v all_o as_o if_o a_o man_n be_v go_v a_o rich_a voyage_n and_o just_a as_o he_o be_v enter_v into_o the_o haven_n there_o shall_v come_v a_o gust_n of_o wind_n and_o blow_v he_o home_o again_o how_o do_v it_o grieve_v he_o i_o be_v just_a at_o the_o haven_n and_o if_o i_o have_v enter_v i_o have_v be_v enrich_v for_o ever_o so_o many_o have_v go_v on_o in_o the_o profession_n of_o religion_n if_o they_o have_v continue_v who_o know_v but_o that_o they_o may_v have_v have_v all_o this_o reward_n but_o for_o want_v of_o continuance_n they_o have_v lose_v all_o and_o they_o be_v come_v short_a of_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n we_o may_v say_v to_o they_o as_o the_o angel_n say_v to_o hagar_n hagar_n from_o whence_o come_v thou_o and_o whither_o go_v thou_o so_o it_o may_v be_v say_v to_o a_o apostata_fw-la poor_a creature_n from_o whence_o come_v thou_o and_o whither_o go_v thou_o thou_o come_v from_o heaven_n and_o eternal_a life_n and_o thou_o be_v go_v to_o hell_n and_o eternal_a death_n you_o know_v how_o earnest_a the_o apostle_n be_v with_o the_o galatian_n when_o they_o have_v once_o receive_v the_o faith_n and_o draw_v back_o again_o say_v he_o who_o have_v bewitch_v you_o be_v there_o ever_o such_o wickedness_n like_o this_o to_o receive_v that_o faith_n that_o bring_v such_o happiness_n and_o after_o you_o have_v receive_v it_o to_o turn_v back_o again_o who_o have_v bewitch_v you_o and_o this_o be_v the_o four_o use_n five_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o glorious_a recompense_n of_o reward_n for_o the_o people_n of_o god_n this_o shall_v then_o encourage_v 5._o such_o as_o be_v look_v towards_o and_o such_o as_o be_v walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n first_o it_o may_v encourage_v to_o begin_v betimes_o in_o god_n 1._o way_n it_o be_v your_o wisdom_n to_o begin_v to_o work_v at_o the_o first_o hour_n see_v god_n will_v reward_v so_o rich_o if_o you_o be_v to_o work_v for_o another_o and_o you_o know_v he_o will_v give_v you_o a_o great_a sum_n of_o money_n for_o every_o hour_n you_o wrought_v you_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v betimes_o at_o work_n that_o day_n you_o that_o be_v young_a you_o be_v defer_v and_o put_v off_o your_o repentance_n what_o a_o sottish_a delusion_n be_v this_o what_o do_v you_o lose_v you_o lose_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o the_o reward_n you_o may_v have_v therefore_o you_o little_a one_o as_o soon_o you_o come_v to_o know_v any_o thing_n of_o the_o way_n of_o god_n embrace_v they_o for_o you_o shall_v be_v reward_v abundant_o for_o every_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n therefore_o the_o lose_v the_o time_n of_o youth_n yea_o the_o lose_n of_o any_o opportunity_n of_o do_v any_o gracious_a action_n be_v a_o eternal_a loss_n for_o if_o god_n reward_v every_o one_o according_a to_o his_o work_n than_o the_o loss_n of_o a_o opportunity_n to_o do_v a_o good_a work_n be_v a_o eternal_a loss_n they_o that_o have_v neglect_v opportunity_n let_v they_o consider_v what_o they_o have_v lose_v and_o you_o that_o have_v your_o time_n before_o you_o begin_v betimes_o if_o a_o man_n be_v work_v and_o know_v not_o when_o he_o shall_v be_v pay_v or_o how_o he_o shall_v get_v his_o wage_n he_o will_v come_v late_a to_o work_v and_o will_v be_v negligent_a but_o god_n will_v not_o have_v you_o come_v into_o his_o vineyard_n upon_o those_o term_n but_o promise_v he_o will_v reward_v you_o and_o therefore_o begin_v betimes_o second_o here_o be_v a_o encouragement_n to_o god_n 2._o people_n to_o be_v strict_a if_o we_o look_v for_o such_o a_o glorious_a reward_n we_o have_v need_n be_v accurate_a many_o cry_n out_o what_o need_v man_n be_v so_o strict_a indeed_o if_o they_o have_v no_o high_a end_n than_o your_o base_a end_n you_o may_v say_v so_o a_o base_a hypocrite_n what_o need_v he_o be_v so_o strict_a but_o for_o a_o gracious_a heart_n that_o have_v such_o high_a and_o noble_a and_o glorious_a end_n as_o these_o be_v in_o his_o work_n as_o a_o crown_n and_o glory_n and_o the_o like_a he_o have_v need_n be_v strict_a and_o precise_a in_o ordinary_a piece_n of_o work_n by_o which_o workman_n do_v not_o expect_v much_o they_o be_v not_o so_o strict_a and_o exact_a but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v about_o some_o curious_a work_n that_o he_o expect_v some_o great_a matter_n for_o than_o he_o will_v be_v very_o strict_a and_o so_o because_o god_n people_n do_v expect_v such_o great_a matter_n for_o religion_n no_o wonder_n that_o they_o be_v so_o strict_a and_o precise_a three_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o glorious_a reward_n here_o be_v a_o encouragement_n to_o be_v very_o fervent_a and_o zealous_a 3._o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n because_o they_o serve_v such_o a_o god_n and_o shall_v have_v such_o reward_n say_v the_o apostle_n in_o rom._n 12._o 11._o be_v fervent_a in_o spirit_n serve_v the_o lord_n as_o
for_o communion_n with_o a_o church_n be_v fit_a for_o heaven_n and_o therefore_o the_o question_n may_v be_v true_a who_o shall_v dwell_v in_o thy_o holy_a hill_n who_o shall_v be_v partaker_n of_o these_o thing_n bless_a be_v they_o that_o shall_v eat_v bread_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n but_o who_o be_v they_o it_o be_v necessary_a you_o shall_v labour_v to_o make_v this_o sure_a sandy_a foundation_n certain_o we_o do_v not_o know_v what_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n towards_o mankind_n be_v if_o we_o content_v ourselves_o with_o slight_a hope_n but_o if_o god_n have_v enlighten_v your_o soul_n to_o know_v the_o reality_n and_o glory_n of_o they_o they_o will_v never_o be_v at_o rest_n till_o you_o have_v get_v certain_a and_o infallible_a ground_n for_o they_o in_o thing_n of_o small_a consequence_n we_o be_v content_a with_o slight_a evidence_n but_o if_o a_o man_n have_v to_o deal_v in_o any_o business_n upon_o which_o his_o whole_a estate_n depend_v he_o will_v not_o have_v any_o man_n think_v it_o ill_o if_o he_o do_v make_v sure_a if_o he_o will_v have_v bond_n and_o seal_n so_o we_o shall_v make_v sure_a of_o heaven_n and_o of_o glory_n because_o it_o be_v such_o a_o great_a matter_n some_o i_o suppose_v that_o mere_o upon_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o greatness_n of_o these_o thing_n can_v but_o have_v some_o misgive_a thought_n if_o these_o thing_n be_v so_o great_a sure_o they_o concern_v not_o i_o they_o belong_v not_o to_o i_o can_v i_o think_v in_o my_o conscience_n that_o i_o be_o that_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o god_n shall_v have_v such_o great_a thought_n upon_o and_o shall_v look_v upon_o i_o so_o as_o to_o make_v it_o the_o great_a design_n that_o he_o have_v to_o glorify_v the_o riches_n of_o his_o mercy_n upon_o i_o what_o work_n of_o god_n grace_n have_v i_o ever_o have_v upon_o i_o i_o will_v not_o have_v those_o that_o be_v affect_v with_o the_o greatness_n of_o god_n grace_n to_o mankind_n think_v that_o these_o thing_n do_v not_o belong_v to_o they_o because_o they_o be_v great_a but_o those_o that_o never_o have_v their_o heart_n affect_v with_o the_o excellency_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n grace_n towards_o man_n when_o they_o hear_v of_o the_o greatness_n and_o glory_n of_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v reserve_v for_o the_o saint_n they_o may_v just_o have_v their_o conscience_n misgive_v they_o and_o think_v sure_o they_o do_v not_o belong_v to_o they_o can_v thou_o that_o be_v a_o base_a drunkard_n that_o prize_v nothing_o but_o a_o little_a drink_n and_o some_o outward_a thing_n think_v that_o god_n shall_v make_v it_o the_o great_a work_n that_o he_o have_v in_o the_o world_n for_o to_o communicate_v the_o riches_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o goodness_n unto_o thou_o the_o greatness_n of_o these_o thing_n may_v be_v enough_o to_o cast_v thou_o off_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o beggar_n a_o beggar_n come_v and_o ask_v a_o alm_n if_o a_o man_n put_v his_o hand_n in_o his_o to_o the_o dainty_n and_o infinite_a treasure_n of_o god_n can_v such_o a_o swinish_a heart_n such_o a_o base_a filthy_a unclean_a spirit_n as_o you_o be_v that_o never_o mind_v nothing_o but_o the_o satisfy_n of_o your_o base_a lust_n think_v that_o these_o be_v for_o you_o you_o can_v but_o have_v misgive_a thought_n and_o think_v either_o these_o thing_n be_v but_o notion_n or_o else_o i_o have_v no_o part_n in_o they_o chap._n lv._o to_o who_o the_o recompense_n of_o reward_n appertain_v but_o how_o may_v any_o know_v that_o they_o shall_v have_v quest_n this_o glorious_a reward_n carnal_a and_o sensual_a heart_n because_o they_o have_v ans_fw-fr no_o principle_n of_o god_n grace_n to_o show_v they_o the_o great_a thing_n of_o god_n and_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n they_o think_v
