put_v he_o to_o death_n for_o have_v the_o power_n be_v in_o their_o own_o hand_n but_o this_o be_v no_o matter_n of_o accusation_n to_o the_o roman_n hinder_v he_o not_o from_o speak_v of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n as_o he_o do_v sometime_o in_o reference_n to_o his_o appear_v in_o the_o world_n and_o be_v believe_v on_o by_o particular_a person_n sometime_o in_o reference_n to_o the_o power_n shall_v be_v give_v he_o by_o the_o father_n at_o his_o resurrection_n and_o sometime_o in_o reference_n to_o his_o come_n to_o judge_n the_o world_n at_o the_o last_o day_n in_o the_o full_a glory_n and_o completion_n of_o his_o kingdom_n these_o be_v way_n of_o declare_v himself_o which_o the_o jew_n can_v lay_v no_o hold_n on_o to_o bring_v he_o in_o danger_n with_o pontius_n pilate_n and_o get_v he_o seize_v and_o put_v to_o death_n another_o reason_n there_o be_v that_o hinder_v he_o as_o much_o as_o the_o former_a from_o profess_v himself_o in_o express_a word_n to_o be_v the_o their_o king_n so_o john_n tell_v we_o chap._n v._o 14_o 15._o then_o those_o man_n when_o they_o have_v see_v the_o miracle_n that_o jesus_n do_v say_v this_o be_v of_o a_o truth_n that_o prophet_n his_o innocence_n appear_v to_o all_o the_o world_n even_o to_o he_o that_o deliver_v he_o up_o to_o be_v crucify_v this_o it_o will_v have_v be_v impossible_a to_o have_v avoid_v if_o in_o his_o preach_a every_n where_o he_o have_v open_o assume_v to_o himself_o the_o title_n of_o their_o messiah_n which_o be_v all_o be_v want_v to_o set_v the_o people_n in_o a_o flame_n who_o draw_v by_o his_o miracle_n and_o the_o hope_n of_o find_v a_o deliverer_n in_o so_o extraordinary_a a_o man_n follow_v he_o in_o great_a number_n we_o read_v every_o where_o of_o multitude_n and_o in_o luke_n xii_o 1._o of_o myriad_o that_o be_v gather_v about_o he_o this_o conflux_n of_o people_n thus_o dispose_v will_v not_o have_v fail_v upon_o his_o declare_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n to_o of_o god_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n he_o yet_o make_v it_o not_o his_o business_n to_o persuade_v they_o that_o he_o himself_o be_v the_o messiah_n or_o do_v in_o his_o public_a preach_a declare_v himself_o to_o be_v he_o he_o inculcate_n to_o the_o people_n on_o all_o occasion_n that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v come_v he_o show_v the_o way_n of_o admittance_n into_o this_o kingdom_n viz._n repentance_n and_o baptism_n and_o teach_v the_o law_n of_o it_o viz._n good_a life_n according_a to_o the_o strict_a rule_n of_o virtue_n and_o morality_n but_o who_o the_o king_n not_o declare_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n without_o manifest_a danger_n of_o tumult_n and_o sedition_n and_o the_o miracle_n he_o do_v declare_v it_o so_o much_o that_o he_o be_v fain_o often_o to_o hide_v himself_o and_o withdraw_v from_o the_o concourse_n of_o the_o people_n the_o leper_n that_o he_o cure_v mark_v i._o though_o forbid_v to_o say_v any_o thing_n yet_o blaze_v it_o so_o abroad_o that_o jesus_n can_v no_o more_o open_o enter_v into_o the_o city_n but_o be_v without_o in_o desert_a place_n and_o there_o they_o come_v to_o he_o from_o every_o quarter_n and_o thus_o not_o be_v a_o stand_a law_n of_o his_o kingdom_n but_o a_o probationary_a command_n to_o this_o young_a man_n to_o try_v whether_o he_o true_o believe_v he_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n and_o be_v the_o people_n that_o john_n be_v the_o forerunner_n of_o the_o messiah_n that_o from_o the_o time_n of_o john_n the_o baptist_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o messiah_n begin_v to_o which_o time_n all_o the_o prophet_n and_o the_o law_n point_v luke_n vii_o and_o mat._n xi_o luke_n viii_o 1._o afterward_o he_o go_v through_o every_o city_n and_o village_n preach_v and_o show_v the_o good_a tiding_n be_v all_o so_o involve_v in_o parable_n that_o even_o the_o apostle_n themselves_o do_v not_o understand_v it_o if_o we_o inquire_v into_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o we_o shall_v possible_o have_v some_o light_n from_o the_o different_a subject_n of_o these_o two_o sermon_n there_o he_o preach_v to_o the_o people_n only_a morality_n clear_v the_o precept_n of_o the_o law_n from_o the_o false_a gloss_n which_o be_v receive_v in_o those_o day_n and_o set_v forth_o the_o duty_n of_o a_o good_a life_n in_o their_o full_a obligation_n and_o extent_n beyond_o what_o the_o judiciary_n law_n of_o the_o israelite_n do_v or_o the_o civil_a law_n of_o any_o country_n can_v prescribe_v or_o take_v notice_n of_o but_o here_o in_o this_o sermon_n by_o the_o seaside_n he_o speak_v of_o nothing_o but_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o messiah_n which_o he_o do_v all_o in_o parable_n one_o reason_n whereof_o st._n matthew_n give_v we_o chap._n xiii_o 35._o that_o it_o may_v be_v fulfil_v which_o be_v speak_v by_o the_o prophet_n say_v i_o will_v open_v my_o mouth_n in_o parable_n i_o will_v utter_v thing_n that_o have_v be_v keep_v secret_a from_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n another_o reason_n our_o saviour_n himself_o give_v of_o it_o v_o 11_o 12._o because_o to_o you_o be_v give_v to_o know_v the_o mystery_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o to_o they_o it_o be_v not_o give_v for_o whosoever_o have_v to_o he_o shall_v be_v give_v and_o he_o shall_v have_v more_o abundant_o but_o whosoever_o have_v not_o i._n e._n improve_v not_o the_o talent_n that_o he_o have_v from_o he_o shall_v be_v take_v away_o even_o that_o that_o he_o have_v one_o thing_n it_o may_v not_o be_v amiss_o to_o observe_v that_o our_o saviour_n here_o in_o the_o explication_n of_o the_o first_o of_o these_o parable_n to_o his_o apostle_n call_v the_o preach_v of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o messiah_n simple_o the_o word_n and_o luke_n viii_o 21._o the_o word_n of_o god_n from_o whence_o st._n luke_n in_o the_o act_n often_o mention_n it_o under_o the_o name_n of_o the_o word_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o we_o have_v elsewhere_o observe_v to_o which_o i_o shall_v here_o add_v that_o of_o act_n viii_o 4._o therefore_o they_o that_o be_v scatter_v abroad_o go_v every_o where_o preach_v the_o word_n which_o word_n as_o we_o have_v find_v by_o examine_v what_o
