league_n with_o the_o king_n of_o portugal_n xvi_o and_o because_o there_o be_v yet_o no_o agreement_n make_v concern_v freighting_a of_o the_o ship_n of_o the_o subject_n of_o the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o great_a britain_n by_o the_o portugall_n for_o their_o commerce_n and_o navigation_n into_o brasill_n it_o have_v please_v both_o party_n that_o commissioner_n or_o ambassador_n shall_v be_v appoint_v and_o send_v by_o the_o say_a king_n within_o two_o year_n who_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o treat_v and_o agree_v concern_v this_o article_n xvii_o and_o because_o the_o right_n of_o commerce_n and_o peace_n shall_v be_v make_v unprofitable_a if_o the_o subject_n of_o the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o great_a britain_n shall_v be_v trouble_v for_o their_o conscience_n while_o they_o go_v to_o and_o from_o the_o kingdom_n and_o dominion_n of_o the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o portugal_n or_o reside_v there_o for_o commerce_n or_o business_n therefore_o that_o their_o commerce_n be_v safe_a and_o secure_a as_o well_o on_o land_n as_o on_o sea_n the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o portugal_n shall_v take_v care_n and_o provide_v that_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v molest_v or_o disturb_v for_o the_o say_a case_n of_o conscience_n so_o as_o they_o give_v not_o scandal_n unto_o other_o and_o although_o the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o portugal_n do_v acknowledge_v that_o he_o have_v not_o power_n to_o determine_v and_o dispose_v of_o faith_n and_o religion_n yet_o out_o of_o his_o love_n and_o great_a affection_n to_o the_o most_o renown_a king_n of_o great_a britain_n and_o the_o english_a nation_n he_o shall_v take_v care_n that_o the_o english_a and_o other_o subject_n of_o the_o say_a king_n shall_v have_v and_o enjoy_v as_o great_a liberty_n in_o the_o practice_n and_o exercise_v of_o their_o religion_n within_o the_o kingdom_n dominion_n and_o territory_n of_o the_o king_n of_o portugal_n as_o shall_v be_v permit_v to_o the_o subject_n of_o any_o other_o prince_n or_o commonwealth_n whatsoever_o xviii_o if_o it_o shall_v happen_v hereafter_o which_o god_n forbid_v that_o any_o controversy_n and_o doubt_n shall_v arise_v between_o the_o say_v most_o renown_a king_n whereby_o there_o may_v be_v danger_n of_o the_o interruption_n of_o commerce_n and_o intercourse_n between_o their_o subject_n there_o shall_v be_v public_a monition_n give_v to_o the_o subject_n on_o both_o part_n in_o all_o and_o singular_a the_o kingdom_n and_o province_n of_o each_o king_n and_o after_o such_o monition_n they_o shall_v have_v two_o year_n on_o both_o part_n to_o transport_v their_o merchandize_n and_o good_n and_o that_o no_o trouble_n impediment_n or_o hurt_n shall_v be_v do_v in_o the_o mean_a time_n either_o to_o thing_n or_o person_n on_o either_o part_n xix_o and_o if_o during_o this_o peace_n and_o amity_n any_o thing_n shall_v be_v attempt_v commit_v or_o do_v against_o the_o force_n and_o effect_v thereof_o by_o land_n sea_n or_o fresh-water_n by_o any_o of_o the_o say_a king_n their_o heir_n and_o successor_n their_o vassal_n or_o subject_n yet_o notwithstanding_o this_o peace_n and_o amity_n shall_v remain_v in_o strength_n and_o virtue_n and_o the_o attempter_n and_o offender_n only_o and_o none_o other_o shall_v be_v punish_v for_o such_o their_o attempt_n xx._n item_n it_o be_v
