The office of the apostles and of ministers that are set over others The effect of the Gospel preached Then Peter said unto him Lord Luke V. 41 speakest thou this parable unto us or even to all Luke Ch. 12 V. 42 And the Lord said Who then is that faithfull and wise steward whom his lord shall make ruler over his houshold to give them their portion of meat in due season Blessed is that servant Luke V. 43 whom his lord when he cometh shall finde so doing Luke V. 44 Of a truth I say unto you that he will make him ruler over all that he hath Luke V. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart My lord delayeth his coming and shall begin to beat the men-servants and the maidens and to eat and drink and to be drunken Luke V. 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him and at an houre when he is not ware and will cut him in sunder and will appoint him his portion with the unbeleevers And that servant which knew his lords will Luke V. 47 and prepared not himself neither did according to his will shall be beaten with many stripes Luke V. 48 But he that knew not and did commit things worthy of stripes shall be beaten with few stripes For unto whomsoever much is given of him shall be much required and to whom men have committed much of him they will ask the more Luke V. 49 I am come to send fire on the earth and what will I if it be alreadie kindled Luke V. 50 But I have a baptisme to be baptized with and how am I straitned till it be accomplished * Matth. CXI An exhortation to repentance because of Gods patience The parable of the barren fig-tree L Luke Ch. 13 V. 1 THere were present at that season some that told him of the Galileans whose bloud Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices Luke V. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans because they suffered such things I tell you Nay Luke V. 3 but except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and slew them Luke V. 4 think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem I tell you Nay but except ye repent Luke V. 5 ye shall all likewise perish He spake also this parable Luke V. 6 A certain man had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard and he came and sought fruit thereon and found none Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard Luke Ch. 13 V. 7 Behold these three yeares I

V. The blessed Virgin visiteth Elisabeth L Luke Ch. 1 V. 39 ANd Marie arose in those dayes and went into the hill-countrey with haste into a citie of Judah And entred into the house of Zacharias Luke Ch. 1 V. 40 and saluted Elisabeth Luke Ch. 1 V. 41 And it came to passe that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Marie the babe leaped in her wombe and Elisabeth was saled with the holy Ghost Luke Ch. 1 V. 42 And she spake out with a loud voice and said Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy wombe And whence is this to me Luke Ch. 1 V. 43 that the mother of my Lord should come to me For lo Luke Ch. 1 V. 44 assoon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine eares the babe leaped in my wombe for joy And blessed is she that beleeved Luke Ch. 1 V. 45 for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. V. 30 Wherefore if God so clothe the grasse of the field which to day is and to morrow is cast into the oven shall he not much more clothe you Matth. Ch. 10 V. 16 behold Luke V. 3 I send you forth as lambes among wolves Luke V. 4 Carrie neither purse nor scrip nor shoes and salute no man by the way * Matth. Ch. 10 V. 11 And into whatsoever house ye enter Luke V. 5 first say Peace be to this house Luke V. 6 And if the sonne of peace be there your peace shall rest upon it if not it shall turn to you again Luke V. 7 And in the same house remain eating and drinking such things as they give for the labourer is worthy of his hire Go not from house to house Luke V. 8 And into whatsoever citie ye enter and they receive you eat such things as are set before you Luke V. 9 And heal the sick that are therein and say unto them * Matth. XCVIII Christ teacheth in the temple at Jerusalem at the feast of tabernacles J John Ch. 7 V. 11 THen the Jews sought him at the feast and said Where is he John V. 12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him for some said He is a good man others said Nay but he deceiveth the people Howbeit John V. 13 no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews John V. 14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught And the Jews marvelled John V. 15 saying How knoweth this man letters having never learned Jesus answered them John V. 16 My doctrine is not mine but his that sent me John V. 17 If any man will do his will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of my self He that speaketh of himself John V. 18 seeketh his own glorie but he that seeketh his glorie that sent him the same is true and no unrighteousnesse is in him Did not Moses give you the Law John V. 19 and yet none of you keepeth the Law * John Ch. 5 V. 18 why go ye about to kill me The people answered and said John V. 20 Thou hast a devil who goeth about to kill thee Jesus answered and said unto them John V. 21 I have done one work and ye all marvell John V. 22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision not because it is of Moses but of the fathers and ye on the sabbath-day circumcise a man John V. 23 If a man on the sabbath-day receive circumcision that the law of Moses should not be broken are ye angrie at me because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath-day Judge not according to the appearance John V. 24 but judge righteous judgement John V. 25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem Is not this he whom they seek to kill But lo he speaketh boldly John V. 26 and they say nothing unto him do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ John Ch. 7 V. 27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is but when Christ cometh no man knoweth whence he is John V. 28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught saying Ye both know me and ye know whence I am and I am not come of my self but he that sent me is true whom ye know not But I know him for I am from him John V. 29 and he hath sent me John V. 30 Then they sought to take him but no man laid hands on him because his houre was not yet come John V. 31 And many of the people beleeved on him and said When Christ cometh will he do moe miracles then these which this man hath done John V. 32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him and the Pharisees and the chief Priests sent officers to take him Then said Jesus unto them John V. 33 Yet a little while am I with you and then I go unto him that sent me John V. 34 * John Ch. 13 V. 33 Ye shall seek me and shall not finde me and where I am thither ye cannot come Then said the Jews among themselves John V. 35 Whither will he go that we shall not finde him will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles and teach the Gentiles John V. 36 What manner of saying is this that he said Ye shall seek me and shall not sinde me and where I am thither ye cannot come CHAP. XCIX What was done the last day of the feast of tabernacles J John V. 37 IN the last day that great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried saying If any man thirst John V. 38 let him come unto me and drink He that beleeveth on me as the scripture hath said out of his bellie shall flow rivers of living water
commit adultery Mr. Mark V. 10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter Mark V. 11 And he saith unto them Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another committeth adultery against her Mark V. 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband and be married to another she committeth adultery M Matth. V. 10 His disciples say unto him If the case of the man be so with his wife Matth. Ch. 19 V. 11 it is good not to marry But he said unto them All men cannot receive this saying Matth. V. 12 save they to whom it is given For there are some eunuchs which were so born from their mothers wombe and there are some eunuchs which were made eunuchs of men and there be eunuchs which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdome of heavens sake He that is able to receive it let him receive it CHAP. V. 20 all these things have I kept from my youth up what lack I yet L Luke V. 22 Now when Jesus heard these things Mr. Mark V. 21 then beholding him he loved him M Matth. V. 21 And Jesus said unto him L Luke V. 22 Yet lackest thou one thing M Matth. V. 21 if thou wilt be perfect Mr. Mark V. 21 go thy way L Luke V. 22 sell all that thou hast and distribute unto the poore and thou shalt have treasure in heaven and come Mr. Mark V. 21 take up thy crosse and follow me M Matth. V. 22 But when the young man heard that saying L Luke V. 23 he was very sorrowfull Mr. Mark V. 22 and sad at that saying and M Matth. V. 22 went away sorrowfull L Luke V. 23 for he was very rich M Matth. V. 22 for he had great possessions L Luke V. 24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowfull Mr. Mark V. 23 and Jesus when he had looked round about L Luke V. 24 he said Mr. Mark V. 23 unto his disciples How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdome of God! M Matth. V. 23 Verily I say unto you that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdome of heaven Mr. Mark V. 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words But Jesus answereth again and saith unto them Children how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdome of God! M Matth. V. 24 And again I say unto you It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter into the kingdome of God Matth. Ch. 19 V. 25 When his disciples heard it they were exceedingly amazed L Luke Ch. 18 V. 26 And they that heard it said Mr. Mark Ch. 10 V. 26 saying among themselves L Luke Ch. 18 V. 26 Who then can be saved Mr. Mark V. 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith M Matth. V. 26 unto them unto them With men this is unpossible Mr. Mark V. 27 but not with God for M Matth. V. 26 all things L Luke V. 27 which are unpossible with men are possible with God CHAP. CXXXII Peter desires to know the reward of his apostleship The parable of the labourers in the vineyard Mr. Mark V. 28 ANd M Matth. V. 27 then answered Peter and Mr. Mark V. 28 began to say M Matth. V. 27 and said unto him Behold we have forsaken all and followed thee what shall we have therefore Mr. Mark V. 29 And Jesus answered and said M Matth. V. 28 unto them Verily I say unto you that ye which have followed me in the regeneration when the Sonne of man shall sit in the throne of his glorie ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones Matth. CLII. The parable of the vineyard let out to unthankfull husbandmen L Luke V. 9 THen began he to speak to the people this parable M Matth. V. 33 Heare another parable There was a certain Mr. Mark Ch. 12 V. 1 man M Matth. V. 33 an housholder which planted a vineyard and hedged it round about Mr. Mark Ch. 12 V. 1 and digged a place for the winefat M Matth. V. 33 a wine-presse in it and built a tower and let it out to husbandmen and went into a farre countrey L Luke V. 9 for a long time M Matth. V. 34 And when the time of the fruit drew neare Mr. Mark Ch. 12 V. 2 at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard L Luke Ch. 20 V. 10 But the husbandmen Mr. Mark V. 3 caught him and beat him and sent him away emptie Mark V. 4 And again he sent unto them another servant L Luke V. 11 and they beat him also Mr. Mark V. 4 Mark V. 3 and at him they cast stones and wounded him in the head L Luke V. 11 and entreated him shamefully and sent him away emptie Mr. Mark V. 5 And again he sent another L Luke V. 12 the third and they wounded him also and cast him out Mr. Mark V. 5 and him they killed and M Matth. V. 33 he sent his servants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits of it And the husbandmen took his servants Matth. V. 35 and beat one Matth. V. 39 And they caught him and cast him out of the vineyard L Luke V. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him M Matth. V. 40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh what will he do unto those husbandmen Matth. Ch. 21 V. 41 They say unto him He will miserably destroy those wicked men and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen which shall render him the fruits in their seasons Matth. V. 42 Jesus saith unto them L Luke Ch. 20 V. 16 He shall come and destroy those husbandmen and shall give the vineyard to others and when they heard it they said God forbid And he beheld them and said Luke V. 17 M Matth. V. 42 Did ye never reade in the scriptures Mr. Mark Ch. 12 V. 10 this scripture L Luke V. 17 what is this then that is written The stone which the builders rejected the same is become the head of the corner M Matth. V. 43 This is the Lords doing and it is marvellous in our eyes Therefore I say unto you The kingdome of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof Matth. V. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken but on whomsoever it shall fall Matth. V. 45 it will grinde him to powder And when the chief priests L Luke V. 19 and the Scribes M Matth. V. 15 to another two and to another one to every man according to his severall abilitie and straightway took his journey Then he that had received the five talents Matth. V. 18 he also gained other two But he that had received one went and digged in the earth and hid his lords money Matth. V. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh and reckoneth with them And so he that had received five talents Matth. V. 20 came and brought other five talents saying Lord thou deliveredst unto me five talents behold I have gained besides them five talents moe Matth. V. 21 His lord said unto him Well done thou good and faithfull servant thou hast been faithfull over a few things I will make thee ruler over many things enter thou into the joy of thy lord Matth. V. 23 his hand with me in the dish the same shall betray me L Luke V. 22 And truely the Sonne of man goeth as it was determined Mr. Mark V. 21 as it is written of him but wo to that man by whom the Sonne of man is betrayed good were it for that man if he had never been born J John V. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus bosome one of his disciples whom Jesus loved John V. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckened to him that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake John V. 25 He then lying on Jesus breast saith unto him Lord who is it John V. 26 Jesus answered He it is to whom I shall give a sop when I have dipped it And when he had dipped the sop he gave it to Judas Iscariot the sonne of Simon And after the sop Satan entred into him John Ch. 13 V. 27 Then said Jesus unto him That thou doest do quickly Now no man at the table knew John V. 28 for what intent he spake this unto him John V. 29 For some of them thought because Judas had the bag that Jesus had said unto him Buy those things that we have need of against the feast or that he should give something to the poore M Matth.
