question_n now_o what_o duty_n may_v we_o learn_v from_o this_o that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v reject_v of_o the_o jew_n as_o if_o he_o have_v be_v a_o more_o notorious_a malefactor_n than_o be_v the_o murderer_n barrabas_n answer_n we_o be_v to_o bear_v it_o patient_o though_o we_o be_v for_o christ_n sake_n account_v the_o offscouring_a and_o vile_a among_o the_o people_n of_o the_o earth_n rejoice_v in_o this_o that_o we_o know_v we_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o acceptable_a to_o our_o god_n and_o that_o our_o praise_n be_v the_o great_a before_o he_o while_o we_o walk_v in_o his_o holy_a way_n proof_n explication_n and_o proof_n the_o example_n of_o our_o saviour_n be_v notable_a to_o this_o purpose_n for_o see_v he_o the_o most_o worthy_a and_o excellent_a above_o all_o other_o do_v bear_v the_o great_a indignity_n for_o we_o reason_n require_v that_o we_o poor_a wretch_n and_o vile_a sinner_n aught_o to_o esteem_v it_o our_o chief_a honour_n to_o be_v abase_v for_o he_o here_o also_o from_o the_o most_o unworthy_a deal_n of_o the_o jew_n against_o our_o saviour_n we_o may_v clear_o behold_v how_o extreme_a the_o hatred_n of_o the_o wicked_a be_v against_o the_o godly_a even_o because_o of_o their_o godliness_n which_o they_o do_v extreme_o hate_v yea_o we_o may_v evident_o perceive_v that_o our_o superstitious_a wicked_a be_v more_o full_a of_o hatred_n than_o those_o that_o be_v more_o heathenish_a and_o profane_a pilate_n be_v not_o so_o hateful_a against_o our_o saviour_n as_o caiphas_n the_o high_a priest_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o wicked_a jew_n be_v and_o so_o at_o this_o day_n the_o turk_n be_v more_o peaceable_a towards_o the_o true_a christian_a in_o his_o dominion_n then_o be_v the_o pope_n where_o he_o have_v through_o christ_n and_o of_o his_o miracle_n and_o second_o of_o the_o sincere_a preach_n of_o the_o same_o his_o holy_a doctrine_n by_o his_o faithful_a minister_n as_o a_o duty_n belong_v to_o this_o advancement_n of_o our_o saviour_n at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n we_o have_v one_o notable_a testimony_n and_o proof_n heb._n 2.1_o etc._n etc._n where_o after_o the_o declaration_n of_o the_o do_v more_o brief_o mention_v the_o substance_n of_o this_o article_n but_o also_o those_o which_o do_v most_o historical_o &_o large_o lay_v it_o forth_o unto_o we_o with_o all_o the_o holy_a circumstance_n thereof_o for_o this_o we_o be_v to_o understand_v as_o a_o further_a reason_n to_o stir_v up_o &_o sharpen_v our_o diligence_n that_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o weightines_n of_o this_o article_n it_o be_v very_o often_o repeat_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n not_o only_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n but_o also_o in_o the_o old_a though_o not_o so_o full_o and_o plain_o as_o it_o be_v here_o in_o the_o new_a touch_v the_o old_a testament_n that_o one_o testimony_n of_o the_o apostle_n jude_n mention_v in_o the_o new_a testament_n where_o he_o write_v thus_o ver_fw-la 14_o the_o contrary_a if_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o our_o meat_n and_o drink_n do_v make_v we_o drowsy_a and_o unwilsome_a when_o we_o shall_v go_v about_o good_a and_o holy_a duty_n and_o only_o apt_a to_o rise_v from_o the_o table_n to_o play_v and_o spend_v our_o time_n in_o vanity_n or_o to_o go_v about_o some_o lewd_a practice_n or_o other_o then_o whether_o we_o have_v eat_v much_o or_o to_o take_v care_n how_o they_o may_v religious_o husband_n and_o employ_v that_o which_o they_o have_v already_o like_o good_a steward_n of_o god_n then_o covetous_o to_o hunt_v after_o more_o like_o vassal_n of_o their_o own_o lust_n according_a to_o that_o more_o full_a instruction_n of_o our_o saviour_n luke_n chapter_n 16._o verse_n 9_o 10_o 11_o 12_o 13._o a_o most_o excellent_a doctrine_n we_o do_v continual_o remember_v in_o our_o prayer_n instant_o to_o entreat_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n and_o heavenly_a father_n to_o give_v we_o grace_n that_o we_o be_v never_o find_v like_o the_o careless_a people_n of_o the_o world_n such_o as_o be_v in_o the_o day_n of_o noah_n and_o in_o the_o day_n of_o lot_n upon_o who_o his_o fearful_a judgement_n fall_v while_o they_o lie_v secure_o in_o their_o sin_n and_o in_o the_o contempt_n of_o that_o warning_n which_o god_n give_v unto_o they_o but_o that_o we_o may_v be_v like_o noah_n who_o believe_v the_o warning_n of_o god_n and_o
