c_o r_o diev_n et_fw-fr mon_fw-fr droit_n honi_fw-fr soit_fw-fr qvi_fw-fr mal_fw-fr y_fw-fr pense_fw-fr by_o the_o king_n a_o proclamation_n for_o a_o general_n fast_o charles_n r._n whereas_o the_o lord_n spiritual_a and_o temporal_a and_o commons_o in_o this_o present_a parliament_n assemble_v have_v by_o their_o address_n to_o we_o make_v know_v unto_o we_o that_o they_o be_v deéply_v sensible_a of_o the_o sad_a and_o calamitous_a condition_n of_o this_o our_o kingdom_n occasion_v by_o the_o impious_a and_o horrid_a conspiracy_n of_o popish_a party_n who_o have_v not_o only_o plot_v and_o intend_v the_o destruction_n of_o our_o royal_a person_n but_o the_o total_a subversion_n of_o the_o government_n and_o true_a religion_n establish_v among_o we_o and_o that_o the_o same_o detestable_a machination_n be_v still_o obstinate_o prosecute_v by_o they_o as_o well_o by_o foment_v division_n among_o our_o loyal_a protestant_a subject_n as_o all_o other_o the_o most_o wicked_a contrivance_n notwithstanding_o the_o many_o discovery_n thereof_o by_o god_n great_a mercy_n and_o wonderful_a providence_n late_o bring_v to_o light_n all_o which_o dreadful_a judgement_n be_v now_o impend_v over_o we_o most_o deserveble_o for_o our_o many_o and_o grievous_a sin_n and_o can_v otherwise_o in_o humane_a reason_n be_v prevent_v but_o by_o the_o particular_a blessing_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o consultation_n and_o endeavour_n of_o our_o great_a council_n now_o assemble_v in_o parliament_n have_v most_o humble_o beseech_v we_o that_o a_o day_n may_v be_v most_o solemn_o set_v apart_o wherein_o ourselves_o and_o all_o our_o loyal_a subject_n may_v by_o fast_v and_o prayer_n endeavour_v a_o reconciliation_n with_o almighty_a god_n and_o with_o humble_a and_o penitent_a heart_n implore_v he_o by_o his_o power_n and_o goodness_n to_o divert_v those_o judgement_n and_o defeat_v the_o wicked_a counsel_n and_o device_n of_o our_o enemy_n to_o unite_v the_o heart_n of_o our_o loyal_a posterity_n and_o more_o especial_o to_o bestow_v his_o abundant_a blessing_n on_o ourselves_o and_o this_o present_a parliament_n that_o our_o consulation_n and_o endeavour_n may_v produce_v honour_n safety_n and_o prosperity_n to_o ourselves_o and_o our_o people_n we_o have_v to_o this_o their_o humble_a request_n most_o ready_o incline_v and_o do_v by_o this_o our_o royal_a proclamation_n command_v a_o general_n and_o public_a fast_o to_o be_v keep_v throughout_o this_o whole_a kingdom_n in_o such_o manner_n as_o be_v hereafter_o direct_v and_o prescribe_v that_o so_o both_o we_o and_o our_o people_n may_v send_v up_o our_o prayer_n and_o supplication_n to_o almighty_a god_n to_o and_o for_o the_o purpose_n aforesaid_a and_o to_o the_o end_n that_o so_o religious_a a_o exercise_n may_v be_v perform_v at_o one_o and_o the_o same_o time_n we_o do_v hereby_o publish_v and_o declare_v to_o all_o our_o love_a subject_n and_o do_v strait_o charge_v and_o command_n that_o on_o wednesday_n be_v the_o two_o and_o twenty_o day_n of_o december_n instant_a this_o fast_a shall_v be_v religious_o keep_v and_o celebrate_v throughout_o our_o kingdom_n of_o england_n dominion_n of_o wales_n and_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n and_o that_o the_o same_o may_v be_v perform_v with_o all_o decency_n and_o uniformity_n we_o by_o the_o advice_n of_o our_o reverend_a bishop_n have_v direct_v to_o be_v compose_v print_a and_o publish_v such_o a_o form_n of_o divine_a service_n as_o we_o think_v fit_a to_o be_v use_v in_o all_o church_n and_o place_n at_o the_o time_n aforesaid_a and_o have_v give_v charge_n to_o our_o bishop_n to_o disperse_v the_o same_o according_o all_o which_o we_o do_v hereby_o express_o charge_v and_o command_n shall_v be_v reverent_o and_o decent_o observe_v by_o all_o our_o love_a subject_n as_o they_o tender_v the_o favour_n of_o almighty_n god_n and_o will_v avoid_v his_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n against_o this_o land_n and_o upon_o pain_n of_o undergo_a such_o punishment_n as_o we_o may_v just_o instict_v upon_o all_o such_o as_o shall_v contemn_v or_o neglect_v so_o religious_a a_o duty_n give_v at_o our_o court_n at_o whitehall_n the_o second_o day_n of_o december_n 1680._o in_o the_o two_o and_o thirty_o year_n of_o our_o reign_n god_n save_v the_o king_n london_n print_v by_o the_o assign_v of_o john_n bill_n thomas_n newcomb_n and_o henry_n hill_n printer_n to_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n 1680._o
