to_o the_o neighbour_a paroch_n vacant_a or_o want_v minister_n for_o the_o time_n 2._o that_o all_o minister_n indulge_v in_o one_o and_o the_o same_o diocese_n celebrate_v the_o communion_n upon_o one_o and_o the_o same_o lord_n day_n and_o that_o they_o admit_v none_o to_o their_o communion_n belong_v to_o other_o paroch_n without_o restificats_n from_o the_o minister_n thereof_o 3._o that_o they_o preach_v only_o in_o these_o kirk_n and_o not_o in_o the_o churchyard_n nor_o in_o any_o place_n else_o under_o the_o pain_n to_o be_v repute_n and_o punish_v as_o keeper_n of_o conventicle_n 4._o that_o they_o remain_v within_o and_o depart_v not_o forth_o of_o the_o paroch_n to_o which_o they_o be_v confine_v without_o licence_n from_o the_o bishop_n of_o the_o diocese_n only_o 5._o that_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o discipline_n all_o such_o case_n as_o be_v former_o referable_a to_o presbytery_n continue_v still_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n and_o where_o there_o be_v no_o presbyterial_a meeting_n that_o these_o case_n be_v refer_v to_o the_o presbytery_n of_o the_o next_o bound_n 6._o that_o the_o ordinary_a due_n payable_a to_o burser_n clerk_n of_o presbytery_n and_o synod_n be_v pay_v by_o the_o said_n minister_n as_o former_o and_o that_o the_o say_n minister_n may_v have_v competent_a time_n for_o transport_v of_o their_o family_n and_o dispose_v upon_o their_o good_n the_o said_n lord_n suspend_v their_o confinement_n for_o the_o space_n of_o three_o month_n to_o the_o effect_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o may_v go_v about_o their_o affair_n provide_v that_o during_o the_o time_n of_o the_o say_a suspension_n they_o do_v keep_v and_o observe_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o order_n and_o instruction_n foresaid_n and_o other_o act_n make_v anent_o outted_a minister_n there_o be_v another_o act_n of_o council_n make_v this_o same_o day_n concern_v all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o outted_a minister_n nor_o as_o yet_o by_o name_n indulge_v and_o license_v and_o concern_v some_o new_o ordain_v as_o follow_v halyroodhouse_n septemb_n 3._o 1672._o the_o lord_n commissioner_n grace_n and_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o maj._n privy_a council_n consider_v that_o within_o brugh_n to_o call_v and_o conveen_n before_o they_o all_o outted_a minister_n since_o the_o year_n 1661._o and_o not_o dispose_v on_o as_o say_v be_v and_o who_o be_v not_o under_o a_o sentence_n or_o censure_v of_o state_n reside_v in_o the_o respective_a jurisdiction_n or_o bound_n or_o who_o shall_v in_o any_o time_n thereafter_o reside_v therein_o to_o require_v they_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v and_o communicate_v in_o the_o kirk_n of_o those_o paroch_n where_o they_o dwell_v or_o repair_v to_o or_o dwell_v in_o some_o other_o paroch_n where_o they_o will_v be_v ordinary_a hearer_n and_o communicate_v and_o to_o declare_v their_o resolution_n herein_o and_o condescend_v upon_o the_o paroch_n where_o they_o intend_v to_o have_v their_o residence_n and_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o communicate_v with_o power_n to_o the_o say_a sheriff_n and_o other_o magistrate_n foresaid_n to_o seize_v upon_o and_o imprison_v their_o person_n within_o the_o space_n of_o a_o month_n after_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o require_v and_o in_o case_n any_o of_o the_o say_a minister_n shall_v reside_v in_o the_o paroch_n where_o there_o be_v minister_n indulge_v by_o the_o such_o be_v but_o the_o receive_n of_o the_o instruction_n and_o imposition_n of_o christ_n send_v and_o deliver_v by_o christ_n mediate_o by_o such_o as_o stand_v in_o a_o right_a line_n of_o subordination_n to_o he_o as_o sole_a head_n and_o king_n of_o his_o mediatory_a kingdom_n and_o act_v only_o as_o in_o that_o relation_n and_o subordination_n but_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n as_o magistrate_n as_o such_o be_v not_o minister_n of_o christ_n as_o head_n of_o his_o mediatory_a kingdom_n so_o nor_o do_v they_o act_v in_o give_v out_o law_n and_o instruction_n as_o christ_n herald_n and_o minister_n ministerial_o explain_v and_o apply_v the_o rule_n and_o instruction_n of_o christ_n nor_o do_v they_o press_v these_o instruction_n as_o christ_n instruction_n nor_o in_o his_o name_n and_o authority_n but_o as_o in_o all_o other_o thing_n so_o here_o they_o act_n with_o a_o autocratorical_a and_o architecctonick_a power_n so_o that_o when_o they_o give_v instruction_n to_o minister_n to_o regulate_v they_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o ministry_n they_o do_v it_o by_o their_o magistraticall_a and_o architectonick_a power_n by_o which_o they_o do_v all_o other_o magistratical_a acts._n hence_o be_v it_o that_o such_o as_o receive_v instruction_n to_o regulate_v they_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o ministry_n from_o magistrate_n do_v acknowledge_v this_o magisterial_a and_o architectonick_a power_n in_o church-matter_n to_o be_v competent_a to_o the_o magistrate_n as_o such_o and_o themselves_o to_o be_v formal_a ambassador_n and_o servant_n of_o the_o magistrate_n for_o who_o receive_v instruction_n from_o one_o act_v magisterial_o and_o architectonical_o in_o church-matter_n do_v own_o themselves_o as_o his_o servant_n which_o can_v be_v say_v of_o such_o as_o receive_v instruction_n from_o church-judicatories_a which_o act_n but_o ministerial_o and_o thereby_o formal_o declare_v that_o the_o architectonick_a and_o autocratorical_a power_n over_o church-matter_n agree_v alone_o to_o christ_n who_o servant_n they_o declare_v themselves_o to_o be_v in_o that_o very_a act_n of_o hold_v forth_o these_o instruction_n as_o the_o instruction_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o in_o his_o name_n this_o be_v one_o main_a difference_n hence_o second_o minister_n receive_v instruction_n for_o regulate_v they_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o ministry_n from_o magistrate_n act_v like_o themselves_o magisterial_o and_o architectonical_o do_v if_o not_o formal_o yet_o at_o least_o virtual_o deny_v christ_n to_o be_v the_o only_a head_n and_o lawgiver_n of_o his_o church_n act_v and_o rule_v with_o a_o supreme_a power_n for_o this_o architectonick_a and_o supreme_a power_n in_o the_o church_n be_v competent_a to_o christ_n only_o and_o he_o have_v substitute_v none_o as_o his_o vicar-general_a neither_o prince_n not_o prelate_n pope_n nor_o other_o as_o be_v easy_a to_o evince_v if_o needful_a and_o so_o there_o be_v but_o one_o architectonick_a supreme_a magisterial_a power_n in_o the_o church_n and_o if_o this_o be_v attribute_v to_o the_o magistrate_n christ_n be_v put_v from_o his_o right_n and_o so_o such_o minister_n as_o by_o receive_v instruction_n from_o magistrate_n to_o regulate_v they_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o ministry_n do_v attribute_v this_o power_n to_o the_o magistrate_n must_v of_o necessity_n take_v and_o have_v their_o commission_n from_o magistrate_n and_o become_v their_o ambassador_n and_o not_o christ_n because_o by_o this_o deed_n as_o they_o spoil_v christ_n of_o his_o prerogative_n and_o crown_n attribute_v that_o unto_o magistrate_n which_o be_v proper_a to_o he_o so_o they_o acknowledge_v their_o dependence_n on_o and_o subordination_n to_o magistrate_n and_o not_o upon_o and_o to_o christ._n but_o nothing_o of_o this_o kind_n can_v follow_v upon_o receive_v of_o instruction_n from_o church-judicatories_a act_v as_o christ_n servant_n and_o in_o the_o very_a way_n and_o manner_n of_o their_o act_n declare_v christ_n to_o be_v the_o sole_a head_n and_o supreme_a governor_n of_o his_o church_n for_o as_o the_o church-judicatories_a act_n but_o ministerial_o so_o the_o receiver_n of_o instruction_n from_o they_o can_v own_v no_o other_o power_n in_o they_o because_o they_o receive_v these_o instruction_n from_o they_o as_o authorize_v of_o christ_n with_o power_n ministerial_o to_o declare_v his_o mind_n and_o will_n and_o this_o be_v a_o second_o difference_n which_o lead_v i_o to_o a_o three_o which_o be_v this_o christ_n have_v never_o appoint_v magistrate_n as_o such_o to_o act_n under_o he_o after_o such_o a_o manner_n in_o the_o regulation_n of_o his_o church_n and_o mediatory_a kingdom_n as_o he_o have_v appoint_v minister_n and_o church-judicatories_a now_o to_o receive_v instruction_n from_o a_o usurper_n be_v to_o acknowledge_v the_o power_n of_o the_o usurper_n &_o a_o dependence_n upon_o he_o as_o his_o servant_n and_o therefore_o as_o a_o king_n will_v not_o own_o that_o man_n as_o his_o ambassador_n who_o take_v his_o instruction_n from_o a_o usurper_n so_o nor_o can_v that_o man_n formal_o look_v upon_o himself_o as_o the_o king_n ambassador_n but_o as_o the_o ambassador_n of_o that_o usurper_n but_o when_o one_o take_v instruction_n from_o the_o council_n act_v in_o subordination_n to_o the_o king_n and_o clear_v his_o mind_n by_o virtue_n of_o his_o commission_n impower_v they_o thereunto_o he_o be_v true_o the_o king_n ambassador_n though_o the_o council_n do_v immediate_o give_v he_o his_o instruction_n so_o a_o minister_n receive_v his_o instruction_n immediate_o from_o church-judicatories_a be_v nevertheless_o the_o ambassador_n of_o christ_n for_o the_o church-judicatory_a act_v in_o subordination_n to_o christ_n and_o only_o clear_v up_o his_o mind_n by_o virtue_n of_o his_o commission_n impower_v they_o thereunto_o thus_o i_o have_v manifest_v the_o invalidity_n of_o this_o informer_n argument_n and_o withal_o show_v that_o mr._n b._n have_v good_a ground_n to_o say_v what_o he_o say_v and_o to_o reject_v these_o instruction_n upon_o that_o very_a ground_n that_o if_o he_o have_v accept_v of_o they_o he_o shall_v have_v acknowledge_v himself_o not_o christ_n but_o their_o ambassador_n and_o withal_o have_v show_v that_o the_o indulge_v minister_n in_o receive_v these_o instruction_n have_v declare_v themselves_o not_o to_o be_v the_o servant_n &_o ambassador_n of_o christ_n but_o of_o the_o magistrate_n &_o therefore_o can_v be_v own_v as_o no_o other_o our_o informer_n tell_v we_o in_o the_o next_o place_n that_o there_o be_v some_o speech_n betwixt_o my_o l._n chanc._n and_o mr_n bâ—_n and_o that_o mr_n b._n do_v not_o deny_v that_o the_o council_n may_v confine_v he_o when_o the_o chanc._n ask_v that_o at_o he_o and_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o rule_n our_o informer_n suppose_v that_o hereby_o he_o overturn_v his_o own_o universal_a negative_a wherein_o he_o be_v no_o less_o mistake_v than_o he_o be_v in_o his_o last_o reason_n for_o though_o it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o council_n declare_v no_o more_o free_a subject_n and_o unworthy_a of_o the_o common_a privilege_n of_o all_o free_a subject_n and_o so_o actual_o under_o the_o scandal_n of_o disloyal_a and_o censure_v person_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o reproach_n to_o the_o ministry_n so_o it_o can_v not_o but_o expose_v they_o to_o contempt_n and_o make_v their_o office_n vile_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o world_n and_o their_o pain_n fruitless_a when_o their_o ministry_n be_v make_v contemptible_a and_o if_o there_o be_v some_o further_a design_n in_o this_o obvious_a it_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o worthy_a of_o
