the_o thing_n therein_o contain_v the_o acknowledgement_n whereof_o be_v implicit_o require_v of_o every_o covenanter_n 1._o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o say_v that_o the_o rage_n power_n and_o presumption_n of_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n in_o the_o sense_n there_o intend_v be_v at_o this_o time_n increase_v 2._o nor_o can_v true_o affirm_v that_o we_o have_v use_v or_o give_v consent_n to_o cause_n for_o since_o evil_a may_v not_o be_v do_v that_o good_a may_v come_v thereof_o we_o can_v yet_o be_v persuade_v that_o the_o cause_n of_o religion_n liberty_n and_o peace_n may_v be_v support_v or_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n the_o good_a of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o the_o honour_n of_o the_o king_n seek_v to_o be_v advance_v by_o such_o mean_n as_o to_o our_o best_a understanding_n be_v both_o improper_a for_o those_o end_n and_o destitute_a of_o all_o warrant_n from_o the_o law_n either_o of_o god_n or_o of_o this_o realm_n last_o in_o the_o conclusion_n our_o heart_n tremble_v to_o think_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v require_v to_o pray_v that_o other_o christian_a church_n may_v be_v encourage_v by_o our_o example_n to_o join_v in_o the_o like_a association_n and_o covenant_n to_o free_v themselves_o from_o the_o antichristian_a yoke_n etc._n etc._n wherein_o 1._o to_o omit_v that_o we_o do_v not_o know_v any_o antichristian_a yoke_n under_o which_o we_o be_v hold_v in_o these_o kingdom_n and_o from_o which_o we_o owe_v to_o this_o either_o war_n or_o covenant_n our_o freedom_n unless_o by_o the_o antichristian_a yoke_n be_v mean_v episcopal_a government_n which_o we_o hope_v no_o man_n that_o pretend_v to_o truth_n and_o charity_n will_v affirm_v 2._o we_o do_v not_o yet_o see_v in_o the_o fruit_n of_o this_o association_n or_o covenant_n among_o ourselves_o any_o thing_n so_o lovely_a as_o to_o invite_v we_o to_o desire_v much_o less_o to_o pray_v that_o other_o christian_a church_n shall_v follow_v our_o example_n herein_o 3._o to_o pray_v to_o the_o purpose_n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o covenant_n express_v seem_v to_o we_o all_o one_o in_o effect_n as_o to_o beseech_v almighty_a god_n the_o god_n of_o love_n and_o peace_n 1._o to_o take_v all_o love_n and_o peace_n out_o of_o the_o heart_n of_o christian_n and_o to_o set_v the_o whole_a christian_a world_n in_o a_o combustion_n 2._o to_o render_v the_o reform_a religion_n and_o all_o protestant_n odious_a to_o all_o the_o world_n 3._o to_o provoke_v the_o prince_n of_o europe_n to_o use_v more_o severity_n towards_o those_o of_o the_o reform_a religion_n if_o not_o for_o their_o own_o security_n to_o root_v they_o quite_o out_o of_o their_o several_a dominion_n 4._o the_o tyranny_n and_o yoke_n of_o antichrist_n if_o lay_v upon_o the_o neck_n of_o subject_n by_o their_o same_o reform_a religion_n 2._o absolute_o and_o without_o exception_n to_o preserve_v and_o yet_o upon_o supposition_n to_o extirpate_v the_o selfsame_a thing_n viz._n the_o present_a religion_n of_o the_o church_n of_o scotland_n 3._o to_o reform_v church-government_n establish_v in_o england_n and_o ireland_n according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o to_o extirpate_v that_o government_n which_o we_o be_v persuade_v to_o be_v according_a thereunto_o for_o the_o introduce_n of_o another_o whereof_o we_o be_v not_o so_o persuade_v 4._o to_o endeavour_v real_o the_o
