ancient_a and_o laudable_a custom_n of_o the_o primitive_a church_n in_o the_o pure_a time_n and_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o extol_n those_o rite_n which_o indeed_o be_v as_o much_o as_o can_v be_v say_v for_o any_o of_o our_o ceremony_n the_o cannon_n conclude_v thus_o in_o the_o practice_n or_o omission_n of_o this_o rite_n we_o desire_v that_o the_o rule_n of_o charity_n prescribe_v by_o the_o apostle_n may_v be_v observe_v which_o be_v that_o they_o who_o use_v the_o liberty_n despise_v not_o they_o which_o use_v it_o not_o and_o they_o who_o use_v it_o not_o condemn_v not_o those_o that_o use_v it_o canon_n 7._o 1640._o and_o this_o their_o council_n and_o commend_v have_v not_o be_v in_o vain_a but_o receive_v and_o submit_v unto_o throughout_o by_o those_o who_o be_v so_o persuade_v of_o these_o rite_n as_o they_o have_v commend_v they_o and_o so_o will_v it_o have_v be_v in_o respect_n of_o other_o the_o rite_n of_o our_o church_n and_o the_o free_a submission_n in_o practice_n of_o a_o rite_n though_o but_o from_o a_o few_o number_n of_o grave_a and_o pious_a person_n will_v have_v advance_v the_o esteem_n of_o such_o ceremony_n in_o the_o opinion_n of_o other_o much_o more_o than_o the_o force_a submission_n of_o great_a multitude_n 2._o as_o a_o further_a answer_n let_v we_o consider_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o crime_n with_o respect_n to_o the_o penalty_n the_o crime_n as_o express_v in_o our_o law_n be_v a_o wilful_a and_o obstinate_a or_o contemptuous_a omission_n as_o in_o 19_o eliz._n c._n 2o._o in_o the_o act_n for_o uniformity_n where_o these_o word_n wilful_a and_o obstinate_a i_o will_v think_v be_v not_o descriptive_a and_o to_o be_v understand_v reduplicative_a as_o a_o aggravation_n and_o as_o if_o all_o omission_n must_v of_o necessity_n proceed_v from_o wilfulness_n and_o obstinacy_n but_o distinctive_a and_o to_o be_v understand_v specificative_a some_o omission_n be_v from_o wilfulness_n and_o contempt_n but_o there_o
