wish_v there_o be_v how_o inconsiderable_a be_v they_o to_o the_o multitude_n who_o live_v more_o by_o sense_n than_o by_o reason_n or_o faith_n who_o the_o innate_a beauty_n and_o pleasure_n of_o virtue_n can_v never_o invite_v to_o admire_v she_o who_o will_v never_o deny_v their_o lust_n if_o they_o can_v gratify_v they_o without_o danger_n will_v quick_o pursue_v their_o revenge_n to_o death_n be_v they_o not_o afraid_a that_o the_o avenger_n of_o blood_n even_o in_o this_o world_n will_v overtake_v they_o man_n may_v talk_v of_o good_a nature_n and_o right_a reason_n propose_v fair_a and_o worthy_a commendation_n and_o description_n of_o virtue_n and_o honesty_n and_o loyalty_n to_o invite_v man_n to_o close_v with_o they_o and_o possible_o by_o these_o motive_n may_v persuade_v some_o of_o good_a understanding_n and_o honest_a inclination_n to_o do_v so_o but_o such_o discourse_n will_v have_v as_o little_a effect_n upon_o the_o vulgar_a and_o the_o rabble_n with_o who_o government_n have_v to_o deal_v as_o fine_a word_n upon_o a_o unruly_a beast_n which_o be_v to_o be_v hold_v in_o with_o the_o bit_n and_o bridle_n lest_o he_o fall_v upon_o thou_o and_o be_v to_o be_v keep_v in_o the_o right_a way_n with_o no_o other_o argument_n than_o with_o a_o strait_a rein_n and_o prudent_a management_n of_o the_o whip_n and_o spur._n if_o we_o take_v away_o the_o law_n then_o and_o if_o they_o be_v not_o due_o execute_v they_o be_v virtual_o remove_v we_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o vizor_n of_o honesty_n and_o religion_n that_o be_v now_o wear_v by_o many_o will_v be_v quick_o pull_v off_o that_o vice_n will_v grow_v bold_a and_o impudent_a and_o walk_v barefaced_a among_o we_o that_o rebellion_n and_o murder_n and_o open_a violence_n will_v become_v the_o nation_n law_n instead_o of_o those_o of_o peace_n honesty_n and_o religion_n that_o will_v present_o be_v abolish_v take_v away_o the_o belief_n of_o a_o hell_n one_o part_n of_o the_o sanction_n of_o divine_a law_n and_o i_o fear_v that_o most_o man_n will_v quick_o forget_v their_o duty_n to_o their_o god_n and_o remove_v the_o punishment_n from_o humane_a law_n and_o they_o will_v as_o soon_o forget_v that_o to_o their_o prince_n and_o neighbour_n too_o it_o be_v therefore_o the_o rod_n and_o axe_n that_o in_o some_o measure_n secure_v the_o crown_n and_o sceptre_n and_o in_o this_o rebellious_a age_n guard_n have_v be_v find_v to_o be_v a_o necessary_a defence_n and_o security_n for_o the_o person_n of_o prince_n the_o gibbet_n and_o the_o pillory_n be_v serviceable_a instrument_n for_o the_o support_n and_o maintenance_n of_o government_n and_o property_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o man_n life_n their_o name_n and_o their_o estate_n but_o allow_v all_o this_o to_o be_v so_o that_o good_a law_n be_v necessary_a and_o that_o without_o temporal_a reward_n and_o punishment_n man_n will_v not_o obey_v they_o yet_o all_o this_o be_v no_o more_o than_o what_o the_o vice_n of_o man_n have_v make_v necessary_a and_o it_o make_v no_o more_o against_o the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o proposition_n than_o that_o because_o the_o most_o of_o man_n be_v vicious_a that_o therefore_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v a_o duty_n to_o be_v virtuous_a or_o that_o because_o many_o man_n be_v honest_a only_o for_o a_o good_a name_n or_o for_o fear_n of_o punishment_n if_o they_o shall_v be_v otherwise_o that_o therefore_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v so_o from_o a_o principle_n of_o conscience_n to_o proceed_v in_o proof_n of_o the_o second_o part_n of_o the_o proposition_n viz._n that_o neither_o the_o barc_n hope_v of_o a_o reward_n nor_o dread_n of_o punishment_n in_o this_o world_n shall_v
