and_o for_o the_o respective_a master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o cordweyner_n sadler_n girdler_n and_o currier_n of_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o their_o deputy_n and_o all_o customer_n comptroller_n farmer_n of_o custom_n supervisor_n searcher_n and_o other_o officer_n belong_v to_o the_o custom_n and_o to_o and_o for_o all_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n mayor_n and_o chief_a officer_n of_o corporation_n within_o this_o realm_n dominion_n of_o wales_n or_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o well_o by_o land_n as_o water_n to_o search_v for_o and_o seize_v any_o leather_n or_o raw_a hide_v wrought_v or_o unwrought_a cut_v or_o uncut_v pack_v up_o or_o unpacked_a intend_a or_o purpose_v to_o be_v transport_v by_o any_o person_n or_o whatsoever_o which_o shall_v hereafter_o buy_v any_o red_a tan_a leather_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n thereof_o shall_v before_o the_o next_o market-day_n within_o the_o say_a place_n for_o sale_n of_o leather_n give_v notice_n thereof_o to_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o company_n of_o curryers_n then_o exercise_v and_o use_v the_o art_n and_o mystery_n of_o a_o currier_n within_o the_o say_a city_n of_o london_n and_o three_o mile_n thereof_o and_o within_o three_o week_n after_o such_o notice_n shall_v deliver_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v deliver_v the_o say_a made-ware_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n of_o the_o same_o city_n any_o curried_a leather_n before_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v search_v and_o allow_v by_o the_o warden_n to_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o their_o come_n and_o make_v the_o like_a noise_n and_o give_v the_o like_a notice_n in_o every_o court_n alley_n or_o place_n into_o which_o the_o say_a cart_n can_v be_v carry_v away_o upon_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v forty_o shilling_n for_o every_o offence_n or_o neglect_n respective_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o the_o open_a street_n householder_n all_o open_a street_n to_o be_v pave_v and_o so_o keep_v by_o the_o several_a householder_n lane_n and_o alley_n within_o the_o say_a city_n and_o place_n aforesaid_a except_v only_o the_o new_a pave_v of_o such_o street_n and_o place_n for_o which_o any_o of_o the_o inhabitant_n have_v contribute_v and_o pay_v their_o respective_a proportion_n to_o notwithstanding_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a lady-day_n candle_n or_o light_n to_o be_v hang_v out_o every_o night_n from_o michaelmas_n to_o lady-day_n that_o every_o householder_n within_o the_o say_a city_n the_o suburb_n and_o liberty_n thereof_o and_o in_o all_o other_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a who_o house_n adjoin_v unto_o and_o be_v next_o the_o street_n from_o michaelmas_n until_o our_o lady-day_n yearly_a shall_v every_o night_n set_v or_o hang_v out_o candle_n or_o light_n in_o lantern_n or_o otherwise_o in_o some_o part_n of_o his_o death_n or_o otherwise_o reduce_v to_o the_o number_n of_o twenty_o and_o from_o thenceforth_o the_o number_n of_o twenty_o master-printer_n shall_v be_v continue_v and_o no_o more_o beside_o the_o king_n printer_n and_o the_o printer_n allow_v for_o the_o university_n to_o have_v the_o use_n and_o exercise_v of_o print_v of_o book_n at_o one_o time_n and_o but_o four_o master_n founder_n of_o of_o letter_n for_o print_v for_o any_o offence_n contrary_a to_o the_o same_o or_o otherwise_o that_o then_o the_o lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_z lord_z bishop_n london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o one_o of_o they_o shall_v nominate_v and_o appoint_v such_o other_o fit_a person_n or_o person_n to_o succeed_v and_o supply_v the_o place_n of_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o founder_n of_o letter_n as_o shall_v be_v void_a by_o death_n forfeiture_n or_o otherwise_o as_o aforesaid_a and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n which_o shall_v hereafter_o be_v allow_v or_o permit_v to_o have_v the_o use_n of_o a_o printing-press_n or_o printing-house_n upon_o or_o before_o such_o his_o allowance_n obtain_v shall_v become_v bind_v with_o surety_n to_o his_o majesty_n in_o the_o court_n of_o kings-bench_n or_o before_o some_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o justice_n of_o assize_n or_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n at_o their_o several_a quarter-session_n in_o the_o sum_n of_o three_o hundred_o pound_n not_o to_o print_v or_o suffer_v to_o be_v print_v in_o his_o house_n or_o press_v any_o book_n or_o book_n whatsoever_o but_o such_o as_o shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n be_v lawful_o license_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a printing-presses_a who_o only_o may_v keep_v above_o two_o printing-presses_a that_o none_o of_o the_o say_a master_n printer_n so_o to_o be_v allow_v from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v keep_v above_o two_o printing-presses_a at_o once_o unless_o he_o have_v be_v master_n or_o vpper-warden_n of_o the_o company_n who_o be_v hereby_o allow_v to_o keep_v three_o press_n and_o no_o more_o unless_o for_o some_o great_a and_o special_a occasion_n for_o the_o public_a he_o or_o they_o have_v for_o a_o time_n leave_v of_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n or_o lord_n bishop_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o to_o have_v or_o use_v one_o or_o more_o above_o the_o aforesaid_a number_n as_o their_o lordship_n or_o either_o of_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o be_v it_o also_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a retain_v what_o number_n of_o apprentice_n they_o may_v retain_v that_o no_o printer_n or_o printer_n except_o the_o king_n printer_n nor_o founder_n or_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v shall_v take_v or_o retain_v any_o more_o or_o great_a number_n of_o apprentice_n then_o be_v herein_o after_o limit_v and_o appoint_v that_o be_v to_o say_v every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n that_o be_v or_o have_v be_v master_n or_o upper_a warden_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v three_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o and_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n that_o be_v of_o the_o livery_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v two_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o and_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v of_o the_o yeomanry_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v one_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o neither_o by_o copartnership_n bind_v at_o the_o scrivener_n nor_o any_o other_o way_n whatsoever_o neither_o shall_v it_o be_v lawful_a for_o any_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n when_o any_o apprentice_n or_o apprentice_n shall_v run_v or_o be_v put_v away_o to_o take_v another_o apprentice_n or_o other_o apprentice_n in_o he_o or_o their_o place_n or_o place_n unless_o the_o name_n or_o name_n of_o he_o or_o they_o so_o go_v away_o be_v raze_v out_o of_o the_o hall-book_n and_o never_o admit_v again_o and_o because_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o secret_a print_n in_o corner_n have_v be_v cause_v for_o want_n of_o orderly_a employment_n for_o journeymen-printer_n the_o say_v several_a master_n printer_n employ_v journeyman_n printer_n and_o founder_n of_o letter_n to_o be_v employ_v and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v so_o to_o be_v allow_v as_o aforesaid_a be_v hereby_o require_v to_o take_v special_a care_n that_o all_o journey-men-printer_n and_o journey-men-founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v who_o be_v lawful_o free_a of_o the_o say_v respective_a mystery_n be_v set_v to_o work_n and_o employ_v in_o their_o respective_a trade_n and_o if_o any_o such_o journey-man-printer_n or_o journey-man-founder_n of_o letter_n be_v of_o honest_a and_o good_a behaviour_n and_o able_a in_o his_o trade_n do_v want_n employment_n he_o shall_v repair_v to_o any_o of_o the_o say_a master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o for_o the_o time_n be_v who_o thereupon_o shall_v receive_v he_o or_o they_o into_o work_n if_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n have_v not_o a_o journeyman_n already_o although_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o with_o his_o apprentice_n or_o apprentice_n be_v able_a without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o say_a journeyman_n to_o discharge_v his_o own_o work_n upon_o pain_n that_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o refuse_v to_o receive_v such_o journeyman_n repair_v to_o he_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v five_o pound_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n wager_n at_o law_n privilege_n or_o protection_n shall_v be_v admit_v the_o moiety_n of_o which_o forfeiture_n shall_v go_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o the_o informer_n who_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o within_o six_o month_n next_o after_o the_o say_a offence_n commit_v and_o if_o any_o journeyman_n or_o journeyman_n printer_n or_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v shall_v refuse_v employment_n be_v offer_v to_o he_o or_o they_o by_o any_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o or_o neglect_v it_o when_o he_o or_o they_o have_v undertake_v it_o he_o or_o they_o so_o refuse_v or_o neglect_v shall_v suffer_v three_o month_n imprisonment_n at_o the_o least_o without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n upon_o conviction_n of_o such_o his_o say_a refusal_n or_o neglect_n by_o two_o witness_n before_o any_o one_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v apprehend_v and_o no_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n shall_v from_o henceforth_o employ_v either_o to_o work_v at_o the_o case_n or_o press_n or_o otherwise_o about_o his_o print_n any_o other_o person_n or_o person_n then_o such_o only_a as_o be_v englishman_n and_o fréeman_n or_o the_o son_n of_o fréeman_n or_o apprentice_n to_o the_o say_a trade_n or_o mystery_n of_o print_v or_o sound_v of_o letter_n for_o print_v respective_o and_o for_o the_o better_a discover_v of_o print_n in_o corner_n without_o licence_n be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o messenger_n of_o his_o majesty_n chamber_n paper_n who_o may_v search_v house_n and_o shop_n for_o suspect_a book_n and_o paper_n by_o warrant_n under_o his_o majesty_n sign_n manual_n or_o under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o or_o more_o of_o his_o majesty_n principal_a secretary_n of_o state_n or_o the_o master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o say_a company_n of_o stationer_n or_o any_o one_o of_o they_o shall_v have_v power_n and_o authority_n with_o a_o constable_n to_o take_v unto_o they_o such_o assistance_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v needful_a and_o at_o what_o time_n they_o shall_v think_v fit_a to_o search_v all_o house_n and_o shop_n where_o they_o shall_v know_v or_o upon_o some_o probable_a reason_n suspect_v any_o book_n or_o paper_n to_o be_v print_v bind_v or_o stitch_v especial_o printing-house_n bookseller_n shop_n and_o warehouse_n and_o bookbinders_a house_n and_o shop_n and_o to_o view_v there_o what_o be_v imprint_v bind_v or_o stitch_v and_o to_o examine_v whether_o the_o same_o be_v license_v and_o to_o demand_v a_o sight_n of_o the_o say_a licence_n and_o if_o the_o say_a book_n so_o imprint_v bind_v or_o stitch_v shall_v not_o be_v license_v then_o to_o seize_v upon_o so_o much_o thereof_o as_o shall_v be_v find_v imprint_v together_o with_o the_o several_a offender_n and_o to_o bring_v they_o before_o one_o or_o more_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n who_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v and_o require_v to_o commit_v such_o offender_n to_o prison_n there_o to_o remain_v until_o they_o shall_v be_v try_v and_o acquit_v or_o convict_v and_o punish_v for_o the_o say_v offence_n and_o in_o case_n the_o say_a searcher_n shall_v upon_o their_o say_a search_n find_v any_o book_n or_o book_n or_o part_n of_o book_n unlicensed_a which_o they_o shall_v suspect_v to_o contain_v matter_n therein_o contrary_a to_o the_o doctrine_n or_o discipline_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n or_o against_o the_o state_n and_o government_n then_o upon_o such_o suspicion_n to_o seize_v upon_o such_o book_n or_o book_n or_o part_n of_o book_n or_o book_n and_o to_o bring_v the_o same_o unto_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_z lord_z bishop_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o one_o of_o they_o or_o to_o the_o secretary_n of_o state_n or_o one_o of_o they_o respective_o who_o shall_v take_v such_o further_a course_n for_o the_o suppress_n thereof_o as_o to_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o shall_v seem_v fit_a and_o be_v it_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o and_o every_o printer_n and_o printer_n of_o book_n founder_n and_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n and_o all_o and_o every_o other_o person_n and_o person_n work_v in_o or_o for_o the_o say_a trade_n punish_v offender_n against_o this_o act_n how_o to_o be_v punish_v who_o from_o and_o after_o the_o ten_o day_n of_o june_n in_o in_o the_o year_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o two_o shall_v offend_v against_o this_o present_a act_n or_o any_o article_n clause_n or_o thing_n herein_o contain_v and_o shall_v be_v thereof_o convict_v by_o verdict_n confession_n or_o otherwise_o shall_v for_o the_o first_o offence_n be_v dis-enabled_n from_o exercise_v his_o respective_a trade_n for_o the_o space_n of_o three_o year_n and_o for_o the_o second_o offence_n shall_v for_o ever_o thenceaft_a be_v disable_v to_o use_v or_o exercise_v the_o art_n or_o mystery_n of_o print_v or_o of_o sound_v letter_n for_o printing_n &_o shall_v also_o have_v and_o receive_v such_o further_a punishment_n by_o fine_a imprisonment_n or_o other_o corporal_a punishment_n not_o extend_v to_o life_n or_o limb_n as_o by_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o court_n of_o king_n bench_n or_o justice_n of_o oyer_n and_o terminer_n or_o justice_n of_o assize_n in_o their_o several_a circuit_n or_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n in_o their_o several_a quarter_n session_n shall_v be_v think_v fit_a to_o be_v inflict_v the_o which_o say_v justice_n of_o the_o peace_n in_o their_o several_a quarter_n session_n shall_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n to_o hear_v and_o determine_v all_o and_o every_o offence_n and_o offence_n that_o shall_v be_v commit_v against_o this_o act_n or_o against_o any_o branch_n thereof_o upon_o indictment_n or_o information_n by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n to_o be_v take_v before_o they_o in_o their_o session_n of_o peace_n respective_o and_o shall_v yearly_o certify_v into_o the_o court_n of_o exchequer_n as_o in_o other_o like_a case_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v the_o fine_n by_o they_o impose_v for_o any_o the_o offence_n aforesaid_a and_o shall_v and_o may_v also_o by_o virtue_n hereof_o award_v process_n and_o execution_n for_o the_o take_n or_o punish_v such_o offender_n as_o in_o any_o other_o case_n they_o lawful_o may_v do_v by_o any_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n university_n print_a copy_n to_o be_v send_v to_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o two_o university_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o printer_n shall_v reserve_v three_o print_a copy_n of_o the_o best_a and_o large_a paper_n of_o every_o book_n new_o print_v or_o reprint_v by_o he_o with_o addition_n and_o shall_v before_o any_o public_a vend_v of_o the_o say_a book_n bring_v they_o to_o the_o master_n of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n and_o deliver_v they_o to_o he_o one_o whereof_z shall_v be_v deliver_v to_o the_o keeper_n of_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o other_o two_o to_o be_v send_v to_o the_o vicechancellor_n of_o the_o two_o university_n respective_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o public_a library_n of_o the_o say_a university_n university_n proviso_n for_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o two_o university_n provide_v always_o that_o nothing_o in_o this_o act_n contain_v shall_v be_v construe_v to_o extend_v to_o the_o prejudice_n or_o infringe_n of_o any_o the_o just_a right_n and_o privilege_n of_o either_o of_o the_o two_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n touch_v and_o concern_v the_o licens_v or_o print_v of_o book_n in_o either_o of_o the_o say_a university_n house_n peer_n house_n provide_v always_o that_o no_o search_n shall_v be_v at_o any_o time_n make_v in_o the_o house_n or_o house_n of_o any_o the_o péer_v of_o this_o realm_n or_o of_o any_o other_o person_n or_o person_n not_o be_v free_a of_o or_o use_v any_o of_o the_o trade_n in_o this_o act_n before_o mention_v but_o by_o special_a warrant_n from_o the_o king_n majesty_n under_o his_o sign_n manual_n or_o under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o or_o both_o of_o his_o majesty_n principal_a secretary_n of_o state_n or_o for_o any_o other_o book_n than_o such_o as_o be_v in_o print_v or_o shall_v be_v print_v after_o the_o ten_o of_o june_n 1662._o and_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a thereof_o in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o london_n proviso_n for_o bookseller_n and_o stationer_n london_n provide_v also_o that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v extend_v to_o prohibit_v any_o bookseller_n who_o have_v serve_v seven_o year_n and_o be_v free_a of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n london_n from_o import_v or_o bring_v into_o this_o realm_n any_o book_n ready_a bind_v not_o former_o prohibit_v which_o have_v be_v print_v ten_o year_n before_o the_o say_a importation_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o or_o any_o aforesaid_a that_o neither_o this_o act_n nor_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v shall_v be_v construe_v to_o prohibit_v any_o person_n or_o person_n to_o sell_v book_n or_o paper_n who_o have_v sell_v book_n or_o paper_n within_o westminster-hall_n the_o palace_n of_o westminster_n or_o in_o any_o shop_n or_o shop_n within_o twenty_o yard_n of_o the_o great_a gate_n of_o westminster-hall_n aforesaid_a before_o
this_o act_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n differ_v from_o the_o rite_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n then_o every_o such_o keeper_n of_o a_o gaol_n or_o house_n of_o correction_n shall_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o ten_o pound_n to_o be_v levy_v raise_v and_o dispose_a by_o such_o person_n penalty_n the_o penalty_n and_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o the_o penalty_n for_o the_o first_o and_o second_o offence_n against_o this_o act_n be_v to_o be_v levy_v raise_v and_o dispose_a provide_v always_o that_o no_o person_n shall_v be_v punish_v for_o any_o offence_n against_o this_o act_n prosecute_v within_o what_o time_n offender_n must_v be_v prosecute_v unless_o such_o offender_n be_v prosecute_v for_o the_o same_o within_o three_o month_n after_o the_o offence_n commit_v and_o that_o no_o person_n who_o shall_v be_v punish_v for_o any_o offence_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v punish_v for_o the_o same_o offence_n by_o virtue_n of_o any_o other_o act_n or_o law_n whatsoever_o provide_v also_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v punish_v marry_a woman_n how_o to_o be_v punish_v that_o judgement_n of_o transportation_n shall_v not_o be_v give_v against_o any_o feme-covert_a unless_o her_o husband_n be_v at_o the_o same_o time_n under_o the_o like_a judgement_n and_o not_o discharge_v by_o the_o payment_n of_o money_n as_o aforesaid_a but_o that_o instead_o thereof_o she_o shall_v by_o the_o respective_a court_n be_v commit_v to_o the_o goal_n or_o house_n of_o correction_n there_o to_o remain_v without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n for_o any_o time_n not_o exceed_a twelve_o month_n unless_o her_o husband_n shall_v pay_v down_o such_o sum_n not_o exceed_a forty_o pound_n to_o redéem_v she_o from_o imprisonment_n as_o shall_v be_v peace_n may_v enter_v into_o house_n suspect_v for_o conventicle_n and_o chief_a magistrate_n respective_o impower_v as_o aforesaid_a to_o put_v this_o act_n in_o execution_n shall_v and_o may_v with_o what_o aid_n force_n and_o assistance_n they_o shall_v think_v fit_a for_o the_o better_a execution_n of_o this_o act_n after_o refusal_n or_o denial_n enter_v into_o any_o house_n or_o other_o place_n where_o they_o shall_v be_v inform_v and_o such_o conventicle_n as_o aforesaid_a be_v or_o shall_v be_v hold_v provide_v that_o no_o dwellinghouse_n of_o any_o péer_n of_o this_o realm_n peer_n the_o house_n of_o peer_n whilst_o he_o or_o his_o wife_n shall_v be_v there_o resident_a shall_v be_v search_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n but_o by_o immediate_a warrant_n from_o his_o majesty_n under_o his_o sign_n manual_n or_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lieutenant_n or_o one_o of_o the_o deputy-lieutenant_n or_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n whereof_o one_o to_o be_v one_o commissioner_n of_o the_o lieutenancy_n for_o the_o city_n of_o london_n provide_v also_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a correction_n what_o person_n may_v be_v not_o commit_v to_o the_o house_n of_o correction_n that_o no_o person_n shall_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n be_v commit_v to_o the_o house_n of_o correction_n that_o shall_v satisfy_v the_o say_a justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o chief_a magistrate_n respective_o that_o he_o or_o she_o and_o in_o case_n of_o a_o feme-covert_a that_o her_o husband_n have_v a_o estate_n of_o frée-hold_a or_o copyhold_n to_o the_o value_n of_o five_o pound_n per_fw-la annum_fw-la or_o personal_a estate_n to_o the_o value_n of_o fifty_o pound_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o and_o in_o regard_n a_o certain_a sect_n call_v quaker_n and_o other_o sectary_n 1._o person_n serve_v with_o process_n refuse_v to_o take_v a_o oath_n 14_o car._n 2._o cap._n 1._o be_v find_v not_o only_o to_o offend_v in_o the_o matter_n provide_v against_o by_o this_o act_n but_o also_o to_o obstruct_v the_o proceed_v of_o justice_n by_o their_o obstinate_a refusal_n to_o to_o hear_v and_o determine_v difference_n between_o landlord_n and_o tenant_n etc._n etc._n and_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o coif_n of_o the_o exchequer_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o any_o three_o otherwise_o ruin_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o say_a fire_n or_o for_o or_o concern_v the_o payment_n defalcation_n apportion_v or_o abatement_n of_o any_o rent_n or_o rent_n other_o than_o arrear_n of_o rent_n only_o due_a before_o the_o first_o day_n of_o september_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o six_o or_o for_o or_o touch_v any_o covenant_n condition_n or_o penalty_n relate_v thereunto_o or_o for_o touch_v or_o concern_v the_o prefix_v or_o limit_v of_o any_o time_n for_o such_o repair_v or_o new_a building_n rebuilding_n or_o any_o rate_n or_o contribution_n to_o be_v bear_v or_o pay_v thereunto_o by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n body_n politic_a or_o corporate_a interest_v in_o the_o premise_n and_o all_o incident_n relate_v thereunto_o and_o that_o they_o or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o from_o time_n to_o time_n with_o or_o without_o any_o adjournment_n summary_o and_o sine_fw-la forma_fw-la &_o figura_fw-la judicii_fw-la and_o without_o the_o formality_n of_o proceed_n in_o court_n of_o law_n or_o equity_n shall_v and_o may_v upon_o the_o verdict_n or_o inquisition_n of_o juror_n testimony_n of_o witness_n upon_o oath_n examination_n of_o party_n interest_v or_o by_o all_o or_o any_o of_o the_o say_a way_n or_o otherwise_o according_a to_o their_o discretion_n procee_v to_o the_o hear_n and_o determine_v of_o the_o demand_n or_o difference_n between_o the_o say_a party_n concern_v the_o premise_n and_o that_o the_o definitive_a order_n of_o the_o say_a justice_n and_o baron_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v be_v final_a as_o between_o the_o say_a party_n their_o heir_n executor_n administrator_n successor_n and_o assign_v and_o all_o claim_n by_o from_z or_o under_o they_o as_o touch_v the_o matter_n contain_v in_o such_o order_n from_o which_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o appeal_n or_o review_n otherwise_o then_o as_o be_v hereafter_o mention_v nor_o shall_v any_o writ_n of_o error_n or_o certiorari_fw-la lie_n for_o the_o removal_n or_o reversal_a of_o the_o same_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_a justice_n and_o think_v it_o convenient_a to_o order_n the_o surrender_v increase_v abridge_n cease_v determine_v or_o charge_v of_o any_o estate_n in_o the_o premise_n or_o to_o order_v new_a or_o long_a lease_n or_o estate_n not_o exceed_a forty_o year_n to_o be_v make_v of_o any_o of_o the_o premise_n by_o the_o proprietor_n or_o owner_n thereof_o or_o other_o person_n interest_v therein_o to_o any_o tenant_n or_o sub-tenant_n or_o late_a occupier_n of_o the_o same_o their_o executor_n administrator_n successor_n or_o assign_v at_o such_o rent_n and_o fines_n or_o without_o any_o rent_n or_o fine_a as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a unless_o in_o such_o case_n where_o the_o law_n of_o this_o realm_n do_v forbid_v the_o diminish_n of_o ancient_a and_o accustomable_a rent_n all_o which_o order_n according_a to_o the_o tenor_n thereof_o shall_v be_v obey_v by_o all_o person_n concern_v therein_o respective_o and_o shall_v conclude_v and_o bind_v they_o their_o heir_n successor_n executor_n administrator_n and_o assign_v respective_o notwithstanding_o any_o disability_n in_o respect_n of_o coverture_n infancy_n nonsanity_n of_o memory_n estate_n tail_n or_o in_o right_n of_o the_o church_n or_o otherwise_o and_o that_o infant_n feme_v covert_a idiot_n person_n of_o non-sane_a memory_n or_o beyond_o the_o sea_n tenant_n in_o tail_n bishop_n dean_n and_o chapter_n and_o other_o ecclesiastical_a person_n and_o their_o successor_n corporation_n and_o all_o other_o person_n or_o person_n body_n natural_a and_o politic_a their_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o their_o respective_a interest_n shall_v be_v bind_v and_o conclude_v by_o such_o respective_a order_n or_o order_n according_a to_o the_o tenor_n or_o purport_n thereof_o any_o law_n statute_n or_o custom_n or_o other_o matter_n or_o thing_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o and_o for_o the_o better_a enable_v the_o say_a justice_n and_o baron_n to_o procee_v with_o effect_n in_o the_o say_a cause_n complaint_n how_o to_o proceed_v upon_o complaint_n be_v it_o also_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_a justice_n and_o baron_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o as_o aforesaid_a upon_o the_o complaint_n or_o request_n of_o any_o person_n or_o person_n concern_v in_o any_o of_o the_o say_a house_n or_o building_n and_o other_o the_o premise_n shall_v issue_v out_o note_n or_o warrant_n under_o their_o hand_n or_o the_o hand_n of_o any_o such_o three_o of_o they_o thereby_o warn_v the_o person_n or_o person_n body_n politic_a and_o corporate_a therein_o name_v and_o concern_v in_o the_o say_v late_a house_n or_o building_n and_o other_o the_o premise_n in_o such_o complaint_n mention_v to_o appear_v before_o they_o at_o such_o time_n and_o place_n as_o in_o such_o note_n or_o note_n shall_v in_o that_o behalf_n be_v specify_v and_o upon_o appearance_n of_o the_o say_a person_n or_o person_n summon_v or_o upon_o default_n of_o by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_a justice_n and_o baron_n or_o any_o three_o of_o they_o for_o the_o matter_n and_o according_a to_o the_o power_n herein_o before_o mention_v shall_v be_v and_o shall_v be_v take_v to_o be_v a_o court_n of_o record_n and_o that_o the_o judgement_n and_o determination_n that_o shall_v be_v make_v betwixt_o party_n and_o party_n by_o authority_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v record_v in_o a_o book_n or_o book_n of_o parchment_n to_o be_v provide_v for_o that_o purpose_n and_o that_o every_o such_o judgement_n and_o determination_n shall_v be_v sign_v by_o three_o or_o more_o of_o the_o say_a justice_n or_o baron_n which_o say_v book_n or_o book_n of_o record_n shall_v be_v place_v and_o entrust_v in_o the_o
