be_v and_o all_o this_o be_v before_o they_o appear_v at_o the_o council_n this_o be_v no_o evidence_n mr._n pollexfen_v say_v against_o the_o archbishop_n because_o he_o be_v not_o there_o and_o nothing_o have_v be_v prove_v against_o he_o as_o do_v in_o middlesex_n and_o for_o the_o other_o 6_o lord_n the_o lord_n precedent_n do_v not_o say_v that_o this_o be_v the_o petition_n that_o they_o say_v they_o have_v to_o deliver_v to_o the_o king_n nor_o do_v he_o see_v they_o deliver_v any_o thing_n but_o that_o be_v still_o lest_o doubtful_a so_o that_o it_o stand_v upon_o presumption_n and_o not_o upon_o proof_n however_o the_o king_n counsel_n desire_v to_o leave_v it_o fair_o to_o the_o jury_n upon_o this_o fact_n and_o then_o therefore_o the_o bishop_n counsel_n desire_v to_o be_v hear_v in_o their_o defence_n and_o first_o sir_n robert_n sawyer_n in_o a_o long_a and_o learned_a speech_n tell_v the_o jury_n that_o the_o charge_n against_o the_o bishop_n be_v that_o they_o do_v conspire_v to_o diminish_v the_o royal_a authority_n and_o to_o this_o end_n make_v a_o libel_n against_o the_o king_n but_o that_o the_o evidence_n fall_v far_o short_a of_o this_o which_o only_o prove_v that_o the_o bishop_n in_o as_o private_a and_o humble_a a_o manner_n as_o they_o can_v present_v the_o paper_n to_o the_o king_n which_o be_v a_o petition_n to_o be_v relieve_v against_o a_o order_n of_o council_n which_o they_o conceive_v they_o be_v aggrieve_v by_o and_o herein_o be_v no_o sedition_n either_o in_o the_o matter_n or_o manner_n of_o deliver_v it_o that_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v question_v but_o that_o any_o subject_a command_v by_o the_o king_n to_o do_v a_o unlawful_a thing_n or_o what_o be_v against_o his_o conscience_n may_v humble_o tell_v the_o while_o sir_n robert_n be_v speak_v to_o these_o thing_n the_o ld._n ch._n justice_n say_v aside_o that_o he_o must_v not_o suffer_v this_o they_o intend_v to_o dispute_v the_o king_n power_n in_o suspending_a law_n mr._n justice_n powel_n reply_v to_o he_o that_o they_o can_v not_o avoid_v that_o point_n because_o if_o the_o king_n have_v no_o such_o power_n which_o be_v his_o judgement_n
