second_o i_o add_v further_o that_o the_o oblige_a power_n of_o the_o law_n be_v neither_o found_v in_o nor_o to_o be_v measure_v by_o the_o reward_n and_o punishment_n annex_v to_o it_o but_o by_o the_o sole_a authority_n of_o the_o lawgiver_n spring_v from_o the_o relation_n which_o he_o bear_v of_o a_o creator_n and_o governor_n to_o mankind_n and_o consequent_o of_o the_o entire_a dependence_n of_o mankind_n upon_o he_o by_o virtue_n whereof_o they_o owe_v he_o the_o utmost_a service_n that_o their_o nature_n render_v they_o capable_a of_o do_v he_o and_o that_o i_o be_o sure_a be_v capable_a of_o serve_v he_o at_o a_o â—igher_a rate_n than_o the_o consideration_n of_o any_o temporal_a reward_n or_o punishment_n can_v raise_v it_o to_o since_o oftentimes_o the_o bare_a mosaic_a law_n to_o oblige_v he_o to_o when_o yet_o our_o saviour_n himself_o promise_v eternal_a life_n to_o one_o upon_o supposal_n of_o his_o performance_n of_o this_o law_n luke_n 10.28_o this_o certain_o be_v very_o strange_a divinity_n but_o after_o all_o some_o may_v possible_o reply_v do_v not_o the_o gospel_n enjoin_v we_o that_o perfection_n and_o height_n of_o charity_n which_o the_o as_o it_o be_v from_o that_o very_a time_n that_o the_o apostle_n write_v these_o word_n the_o very_a common_a voice_n of_o reason_n upon_o these_o term_n and_o under_o these_o circumstance_n dictate_v and_o enjoin_v no_o less_o as_o sound_v itself_o upon_o these_o two_o self-evident_a and_o undeniable_a principle_n viz._n that_o the_o life_n of_o the_o creature_n ought_v when_o necessity_n call_v to_o be_v sacrifice_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o he_o who_o give_v it_o and_o second_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o prefer_v the_o eternal_a good_a of_o our_o neighbour_n or_o brother_n before_o the_o high_a temporal_a good_a of_o ourselves_o which_o manifest_o show_v that_o this_o high_a instance_n of_o charity_n as_o extraordinary_a as_o it_o appear_v do_v not_o at_o length_n begin_v to_o be_v a_o duty_n by_o any_o evangelicâ—â—_n sanction_n but_o be_v so_o ever_o since_o there_o be_v such_o creature_n in_o the_o world_n as_o man_n and_o consequent_o that_o all_o both_o jew_n and_o gentile_n whether_o they_o actual_o know_v so_o much_o or_o no_o will_v have_v sin_v against_o this_o duty_n of_o charity_n shall_v they_o have_v refuse_v to_o promote_v the_o glory_n of_o their_o maker_n or_o prevent_v the_o destruction_n of_o their_o brother_n be_v immortal_a soul_n be_v call_v thereto_o by_o quit_v this_o temporal_a life_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o either_o and_o for_o create_v he_o so_o that_o in_o a_o word_n as_o our_o saviour_n have_v make_v love_n to_o our_o enemy_n one_o of_o the_o chief_a badge_n of_o our_o religion_n so_o our_o king_n have_v almost_o make_v it_o the_o very_a mark_n of_o our_o allegiance_n thus_o even_o to_o a_o prodigy_n merciful_a have_v he_o show_v himself_o merciful_a by_o inclination_n and_o merciful_a by_o extraction_n
