be_v the_o plague_n and_o other_o judgement_n simile_n but_o so_o many_o messenger_n send_v to_o every_o one_o of_o we_o to_o knock_v and_o our_o answer_n must_v be_v lord_n i_o will_v repent_v of_o my_o evil_a way_n i_o will_v turn_v from_o my_o evil_a course_n and_o turn_v to_o thou_o if_o we_o give_v this_o answer_n god_n will_v take_v away_o his_o judgement_n or_o sanctify_v they_o and_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v send_v as_o sweet_a messenger_n to_o we_o to_o allure_v and_o comfort_v we_o that_o sin_n grieve_v the_o good_a spirit_n of_o god_n in_o other_o that_o it_o grieve_v the_o good_a angel_n that_o be_v about_o we_o that_o it_o gratify_v none_o but_o the_o devil_n the_o enemy_n of_o our_o salvation_n that_o it_o defile_v and_o slaine_v our_o soul_n wherein_o the_o image_n come_v i_o say_v from_o self-love_n and_o not_o from_o any_o change_n of_o heart_n as_o in_o the_o the_o humility_n of_o wretched_a person_n a_o little_a before_o the_o judge_n come_v though_o they_o have_v carry_v themselves_o as_o rebel_n before_o yet_o than_o they_o will_v humble_v themselves_o not_o out_o of_o any_o hatred_n to_o their_o course_n but_o out_o of_o fear_n of_o the_o judge_n so_o and_o what_o a_o stagger_a will_v this_o be_v to_o conscience_n when_o a_o man_n shall_v defer_v his_o repentance_n till_o god_n judgement_n seize_v upon_o he_o we_o see_v it_o be_v false_a for_o the_o most_o part_n because_o such_o person_n that_o be_v then_o humble_v when_o they_o recover_v they_o be_v as_o bad_a or_o worse_a then_o ever_o they_o be_v therefore_o a_o ancient_n say_v well_o he_o that_o be_v good_a only_a under_o the_o cross_n it_o never_o good_a it_o come_v not_o from_o any_o change_n that_o god_n work_v but_o mere_o from_o self-love_n therefore_o present_o let_v we_o repent_v of_o those_o way_n that_o god_n convince_v our_o conscience_n to_o be_v evil_a way_n god_n may_v strike_v we_o sudden_o those_o that_o forget_v god_n and_o care_v not_o for_o he_o now_o it_o always_o where_o there_o be_v most_o spirit_n and_o they_o be_v most_o joyful_a and_o comfortable_a and_o holy_a where_o christ_n be_v true_o lay_v open_a to_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n the_o peach_v of_o mere_a morality_n if_o man_n be_v not_o careful_a to_o open_a christ_n to_o know_v how_o salvation_n be_v wrought_v by_o christ_n and_o how_o all_o good_a come_v by_o christ_n it_o will_v never_o make_v a_o man_n perfect_o good_a and_o fit_v he_o for_o heaven_n it_o may_v make_v a_o man_n reform_v many_o abuse_n like_o a_o philosopher_n which_o have_v its_o reward_n and_o respect_n among_o man_n but_o nothing_o to_o give_v comfort_n at_o the_o hour_n of_o death_n and_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n only_o that_o whereby_o the_o spirit_n be_v convey_v be_v the_o knowledge_n and_o preach_v of_o christ_n in_o his_o state_n and_o office_n obedience_n again_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n be_v give_v in_o obedience_n to_o this_o gospel_n act_n 5.32_o he_o give_v the_o holy_a have_v gracious_a motion_n offer_v they_o but_o then_o they_o do_v not_o obey_v they_o therefore_o the_o spirit_n seize_v not_o upon_o they_o to_o rule_v in_o they_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n knock_v upon_o they_o he_o do_v not_o dwell_v in_o they_o and_o take_v up_o his_o lodging_n in_o they_o the_o spirit_n be_v give_v to_o they_o that_o obey_v the_o sweet_a motion_n of_o it_o now_o rest_n in_o the_o bare_a motion_n and_o never_o come_v to_o any_o perfection_n this_o be_v the_o state_n of_o reprobate_n in_o the_o church_n they_o have_v many_o motion_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o their_o heart_n be_v not_o subdue_v to_o obedience_n not_o to_o constant_a obedience_n therefore_o if_o we_o will_v have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n let_v we_o labour_n to_o subject_v ourselves_o unto_o it_o when_o we_o have_v any_o good_a motion_n by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n or_o by_o conference_n or_o by_o read_v of_o good_a thing_n as_o holy_a thing_n have_v a_o savour_n in_o they_o the_o spirit_n breathe_v in_o holy_a exercise_n oh_o give_v way_n to_o the_o motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n we_o shall_v not_o have_v they_o again_o perhaps_o turn_v not_o back_o those_o bless_a messenger_n let_v we_o entertain_v they_o let_v the_o spirit_n dwell_v and_o rule_v in_o we_o it_o be_v the_o most_o bless_a lodger_n that_o ever_o we_o entertain_v in_o all_o our_o life_n if_o we_o let_v the_o spirit_n guide_v and_o rule_v we_o it_o will_v lead_v we_o and_o govern_v and_o support_v we_o in_o life_n and_o death_n and_o never_o leave_v we_o till_o it_o have_v have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n of_o rebel_a against_o it_o this_o be_v the_o state_n of_o many_o of_o we_o the_o lord_n be_v merciful_a to_o we_o and_o cure_v we_o that_o we_o do_v not_o only_o not_o receive_v the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n deep_o into_o we_o but_o if_o they_o be_v such_o a_o cross_n we_o in_o our_o pleasure_n and_o profit_n though_o the_o word_n and_o spirit_n join_v together_o there_o be_v a_o rise_n of_o the_o proud_a spirit_n of_o man_n against_o so_o much_o of_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o motion_n of_o it_o and_o against_o such_o part_n of_o the_o word_n as_o cross_v we_o this_o will_v be_v lay_v heavy_a to_o our_o charge_n one_o day_n that_o we_o will_v bring_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o our_o corruption_n and_o not_o bring_v our_o heart_n to_o god_n spirit_n and_o hereupon_o be_v those_o phrase_n in_o the_o scripture_n of_o tempt_v the_o spirit_n ananias_n and_o saphira_n tempt_v the_o spirit_n that_o be_v when_o man_n will_v do_v that_o which_o be_v naught_o and_o try_v whether_o god_n will_v forgive_v they_o and_o put_v it_o off_o or_o no_o how_o many_o be_v there_o that_o tempt_v the_o spirit_n that_o put_v it_o off_o perhaps_o i_o shall_v have_v the_o like_a motion_n another_o time_n i_o shall_v have_v better_a occasion_n when_o i_o can_v gain_v no_o more_o when_o i_o can_v have_v my_o pleasure_n no_o more_o thus_o man_n resist_v the_o spirit_n as_o saint_n stephen_n say_v that_o be_v when_o the_o spirit_n discover_v to_o they_o what_o they_o shall_v believe_v and_o what_o they_o shall_v do_v and_o they_o see_v it_o cross_v their_o resolution_n to_o be_v naught_o hereupon_o they_o resist_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o else_o will_v close_v with_o their_o soul_n and_o sanctify_v they_o and_o fit_v they_o for_o heaven_n if_o they_o will_v give_v way_n to_o it_o and_o there_o be_v a_o quench_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v when_o man_n have_v sweet_a motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o present_o by_o some_o ill_a language_n or_o course_n of_o life_n they_o defile_v their_o vessel_n and_o quench_v the_o sweet_a motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n of_o all_o these_o of_o tempt_v of_o resist_v and_o quench_v the_o spirit_n for_o undoubted_o live_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o church_n we_o have_v many_o heavenly_a motion_n especial_o those_o that_o have_v so_o much_o goodness_n in_o they_o as_o to_o attend_v upon_o god_n ordinance_n they_o have_v those_o motion_n at_o those_o time_n that_o they_o never_o have_v after_o perhaps_o
but_o they_o either_o resist_v they_o or_o quench_v they_o and_o wrong_v and_o grieve_v the_o spirit_n as_o saint_n paul_n say_v grieve_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n whereby_o you_o be_v seal_v to_o the_o day_n of_o redemption_n ephes._n 5._o man_n speak_v or_o do_v somewhat_o that_o grieve_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o they_o their_o conscience_n be_v enlighten_v by_o the_o spirit_n tell_v they_o that_o they_o have_v do_v that_o which_o be_v naught_o yet_o notwithstanding_o for_o this_o or_o that_o advantage_n to_o please_v this_o or_o that_o company_n they_o will_v speak_v or_o the_o beg_n and_o get_v luke_n 11.13_o how_o much_o more_o shall_v your_o heavenly_a father_n give_v his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o they_o that_o ask_v he_o insinuate_v that_o we_o can_v ask_v nothing_o great_a than_o the_o spirit_n a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o sanctify_a judgement_n next_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o his_o sin_n through_o christ_n he_o beg_v nothing_o more_o than_o the_o spirit_n to_o witness_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n and_o to_o fit_v he_o for_o other_o favour_n especial_o to_o fit_v we_o for_o the_o world_n to_o come_v god_n can_v give_v nothing_o great_a nor_o we_o can_v beg_v nothing_o great_a if_o we_o have_v sanctify_v judgement_n than_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n therefore_o let_v we_o have_v a_o high_a esteem_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o the_o motion_n of_o it_o and_o out_o of_o a_o high_a esteem_n in_o our_o heart_n beg_v of_o god_n the_o guidance_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o he_o will_v lead_v we_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o subdue_v our_o corruption_n that_o we_o may_v not_o be_v lead_v by_o our_o own_o lust_n and_o so_o consequent_o by_o satan_n that_o lead_v we_o by_o our_o own_o lust_n in_o the_o way_n that_o lead_v to_o perdition_n so_o much_o for_o that_o i_o will_v put_v my_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n and_o he_o shall_v show_v judgement_n to_o the_o gentile_n after_o christ_n be_v full_o furnish_v as_o he_o be_v furnish_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o with_o a_o commission_n from_o heaven_n from_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n have_v this_o high_a commission_n and_o gift_n for_o it_o by_o the_o spirit_n he_o fall_v upon_o his_o office_n present_o we_o be_v never_o fit_a for_o any_o thing_n till_o we_o have_v the_o spirit_n and_o when_o we_o have_v the_o spirit_n it_o be_v active_a and_o vigorous_a and_o work_a he_o shall_v show_v judgement_n to_o the_o gentile_n object_n what_o be_v mean_v by_o judgement_n here_o by_o judgement_n be_v mean_v law_n answ._n he_o shall_v declare_v his_o law_n here_o his_o truth_n and_o together_o with_o declare_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v his_o evangelicall_n law_n he_o shall_v declare_v it_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o bow_v the_o neck_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n to_o the_o obedience_n of_o this_o his_o judgement_n christ_n then_o by_o himself_o and_o his_o apostle_n and_o minister_n shall_v declare_v his_o truth_n which_o be_v the_o sceptre_n of_o his_o government_n to_o the_o gentile_n and_o not_o only_o declare_v it_o as_o prince_n do_v their_o law_n by_o proclamation_n and_o statute_n etc._n etc._n but_o he_o shall_v declare_v it_o to_o the_o heart_n by_o his_o spirit_n now_o in_o the_o hebrew_n language_n ordinary_o wise_a government_n be_v call_v judgement_n he_o shall_v declare_v judgement_n that_o be_v his_o manner_n of_o government_n he_o shall_v declare_v it_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o cause_v our_o spirit_n to_o submit_v to_o it_o and_o indeed_o grace_n be_v call_v judgement_n in_o the_o phrase_n of_o scripture_n the_o grace_n of_o sanctification_n because_o it_o be_v agreeable_a to_o judgement_n to_o god_n law_n it_o be_v agreeable_a to_o it_o and_o wrought_v by_o it_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o it_o be_v the_o best_a judgement_n for_o grace_v whereby_o the_o soul_n be_v subject_a to_o the_o judgement_n and_o law_n and_o rule_v of_o god_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o best_a judgement_n because_o it_o be_v agreeable_a to_o god_n judgement_n grace_n judge_v aright_o of_o thing_n and_o subdue_v all_o thing_n the_o affection_n and_o inward_a man_n to_o itself_o but_o why_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n call_v judgement_n judgement_n it_o be_v call_v so_o frequent_o in_o the_o psalm_n and_o in_o other_o place_n of_o scripture_n because_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n show_v what_o god_n do_v judge_v judgement_n be_v original_o in_o god_n who_o be_v the_o first_o truth_n and_o the_o first_o good_a the_o first_o truth_n judge_v best_a of_o truth_n what_o be_v light_n and_o what_o be_v darkness_n what_o be_v truth_n and_o what_o be_v error_n what_o be_v good_a and_o what_o be_v ill_a what_o be_v safe_a and_o what_o be_v dangerous_a all_o will_v grant_v that_o god_n be_v the_o first_o light_n and_o the_o firâ—t_o truth_n therefore_o he_o do_v original_o judge_v of_o the_o difference_n of_o thing_n for_o even_o as_o in_o the_o creation_n he_o put_v a_o eternal_a difference_n between_o thing_n shall_v be_v above_o another_o and_o all_o in_o judgement_n so_o in_o the_o govern_n of_o mankind_n he_o show_v his_o judgement_n by_o his_o word_n and_o that_o word_n show_v how_o god_n judge_v of_o thing_n law_n show_n judgement_n what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v and_o what_o be_v not_o to_o be_v do_v the_o gospel_n show_v god_n judgement_n what_o he_o will_v have_v we_o believe_v and_o hope_v for_o and_o how_o we_o must_v carry_v ourselves_o in_o way_n of_o thankefullness_n if_o we_o do_v this_o than_o the_o gospel_n the_o word_n of_o god_n judge_v what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o we_o shall_v be_v save_v if_o we_o do_v the_o contrary_a the_o word_n again_o judge_v what_o our_o state_n shall_v be_v we_o shall_v be_v damn_v so_o it_o be_v call_v judgement_n because_o it_o judge_v what_o be_v good_a and_o what_o be_v ill_a and_o because_o it_o determine_v what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o if_o we_o obey_v or_o disobey_v hereupon_o it_o be_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v a_o glass_n wherein_o we_o may_v see_v our_o own_o condition_n infallible_o what_o will_v become_v of_o we_o the_o word_n of_o god_n judge_v thus_o he_o that_o live_v in_o such_o and_o such_o sin_n shall_v come_v to_o this_o end_n god_n will_v inflict_v these_o and_o these_o judgement_n upon_o he_o judgement_n in_o the_o first_o place_n be_v you_o shall_v do_v this_o and_o this_o because_o it_o be_v good_a judgement_n in_o the_o second_o place_n be_v because_o you_o have_v not_o do_v this_o this_o shall_v befall_v you_o so_o the_o evangelicall_n judgement_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v this_o he_o that_o repent_v and_o believe_v shall_v not_o perish_v but_o have_v everlasting_a life_n but_o he_o that_o arm_n and_o furnish_v his_o heart_n to_o rebellion_n he_o shall_v perish_v in_o his_o sin_n he_o that_o believe_v not_o be_v condemn_v already_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n hang_v over_o his_o head_n so_o from_o this_o that_o god_n truth_n be_v call_v judgement_n we_o may_v know_v how_o to_o judge_v of_o ourselves_o even_o as_o god_n judge_v in_o his_o word_n we_o may_v see_v our_o own_o face_n and_o condition_n there_o he_o that_o be_v a_o man_n of_o death_n may_v see_v it_o in_o the_o word_n and_o he_o that_o be_v appoint_v for_o happiness_n may_v there_o see_v his_o condition_n again_o judgement_n not_o only_o the_o word_n of_o god_n the_o gospel_n which_o be_v out_o of_o we_o in_o the_o book_n of_o god_n be_v call_v judgement_n but_o the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o the_o soul_n sanctification_n be_v call_v judgement_n hence_o we_o may_v observe_v what_o be_v the_o most_o judicious_a course_n in_o the_o world_n the_o most_o judicious_a frame_n of_o soul_n when_o it_o be_v frame_v to_o the_o judgement_n and_o truth_n of_o god_n be_v the_o first_o truth_n when_o a_o man_n be_v sanctify_v and_o set_v in_o a_o holy_a frame_n it_o be_v from_o a_o sanctify_a judgement_n the_o flesh_n be_v subject_a to_o the_o spirit_n here_o be_v all_o in_o a_o gracious_a
order_n the_o base_a part_n do_v not_o rule_v the_o high_a but_o the_o high_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n a_o sanctify_a judgement_n rule_v all_o because_o the_o whole_a be_v in_o right_a judgement_n therefore_o sanctification_n be_v call_v judgement_n and_o other_o course_n though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o fashionable_a be_v but_o madness_n and_o folly_n and_o disorder_n in_o the_o censure_n of_o the_o scripture_n nothing_o be_v judgement_n and_o true_a wisdom_n but_o sanctification_n and_o obedience_n flow_v from_o sanctification_n therefore_o say_v moses_n in_o deuteronomie_n then_o shall_v you_o be_v know_v to_o be_v a_o wise_a people_n when_o you_o obey_v the_o law_n that_o i_o have_v give_v you_o only_o that_o show_v a_o wise_a judicious_a man_n to_o be_v obedient_a to_o god_n own_o eye_n but_o the_o issue_n of_o it_o be_v death_n say_v solomon_n this_o be_v the_o state_n of_o all_o man_n that_o be_v not_o lead_v with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n truth_n and_o spirit_n sanctify_v and_o frame_v their_o soul_n to_o obedience_n they_o be_v foolish_a and_o disobedient_a and_o deceive_v and_o so_o it_o will_v prove_v with_o they_o in_o the_o end_n serve_v diverse_a lust_n and_o pleasure_n live_v in_o malice_n and_o envy_n hate_v one_o another_o now_o when_o god_n by_o his_o bless_a truth_n and_o spirit_n set_v up_o his_o rule_n in_o the_o heart_n it_o bring_v all_o into_o captivity_n as_o saint_n paul_n say_v it_o bring_v all_o the_o inner_a man_n into_o subjection_n the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v the_o weapon_n of_o god_n these_o judgement_n be_v mighty_a in_o operation_n together_o with_o the_o spirit_n to_o beat_v down_o all_o strong_a hold_n and_o to_o set_v up_o another_o judgement_n there_o it_o bring_v all_o into_o captivity_n to_o the_o truth_n and_o command_n of_o god_n and_o to_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o word_n and_o spirit_n beat_v down_o all_o the_o strong_a hold_n that_o be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o heart_n by_o satan_n and_o our_o corruption_n so_o we_o see_v here_o what_o be_v mean_v by_o this_o phrase_n he_o shall_v declare_v judgement_n to_o the_o gentile_n it_o be_v a_o militant_a word_n therefore_o i_o have_v stand_v somewhat_o the_o long_a in_o unfolding_n of_o it_o preach_v now_o this_o be_v wrought_v by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n he_o shall_v declare_v judgement_n to_o the_o gentile_n all_o grace_n come_v by_o declare_v the_o gospel_n be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o salvation_n let_v but_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v god_n judgement_n how_o man_n shall_v be_v save_v and_o how_o they_o will_v not_o have_v god_n judgement_n but_o man_n tradition_n declare_v he_o know_v the_o declare_v of_o god_n judgement_n will_v breed_v a_o alteration_n quick_o in_o man_n disposition_n for_o when_o he_o say_v he_o shall_v declare_v judgement_n to_o the_o gentile_n he_o mean_v the_o consequent_a as_o well_o as_o the_o thing_n he_o shall_v so_o declare_v judgement_n that_o they_o shall_v yield_v spiritual_a obedience_n and_o come_v in_o and_o be_v save_v let_v the_o devil_n do_v his_o worst_a let_v all_o seducer_n of_o soul_n do_v their_o worst_a if_o they_o will_v but_o give_v way_n to_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n let_v but_o judgement_n be_v declare_v let_v god_n arm_n be_v stretch_v forth_o in_o deliver_v the_o truth_n he_o will_v soon_o gain_v soul_n out_o of_o the_o captivity_n and_o bondage_n of_o satan_n they_o know_v it_o well_o enough_o therefore_o by_o all_o the_o way_n they_o can_v they_o stop_v the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o disgrace_n and_o hinder_v it_o and_o set_v up_o man_n tradition_n instead_o of_o the_o gospel_n but_o i_o will_v not_o enlarge_v myself_o far_a upon_o these_o word_n but_o go_v on_o to_o the_o next_o he_o shall_v not_o strive_v nor_o cry_v neither_o shall_v any_o man_n hear_v his_o voice_n in_o the_o street_n these_o word_n set_v down_o the_o mild_a carriage_n and_o sweet_a and_o amiable_a manner_n of_o christ_n carriage_n upon_o earth_n here_o in_o his_o first_o come_v to_o work_v the_o great_a work_n of_o our_o redemption_n he_o do_v not_o carry_v the_o matter_n in_o a_o outward_a glorious_a manner_n in_o pomp_n but_o he_o will_v have_v his_o miracle_n conceal_v oft_o time_n and_o himself_o hide_v his_o godhead_n be_v hide_v under_o the_o veil_n of_o his_o manhood_n he_o can_v not_o they_o abroad_o ourselves_o it_o be_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ._n let_v we_o labour_n to_o have_v humility_n of_o spirit_n humility_n that_o that_o may_v grow_v up_o with_o we_o in_o all_o our_o performance_n that_o all_o thing_n that_o we_o speak_v and_o do_v may_v savour_v of_o a_o spirit_n of_o humility_n that_o we_o may_v seek_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o all_o thing_n more_o than_o our_o own_o and_o let_v we_o commit_v the_o fame_n and_o credit_n of_o what_o we_o be_v or_o do_v to_o god_n he_o will_v take_v care_n of_o that_o let_v we_o take_v care_n to_o be_v and_o to_o do_v as_o we_o shall_v and_o then_o for_o noise_n and_o report_n let_v it_o be_v good_a or_o ill_a as_o god_n will_v send_v it_o we_o know_v oft_o time_n it_o fall_v out_o that_o that_o which_o be_v accidental_a thing_n let_v they_o fall_v out_o as_o god_n in_o his_o wisdom_n see_v good_a so_o let_v we_o look_v through_o good_a report_n and_o bad_a report_n to_o heaven_n let_v we_o do_v the_o great_a massacre_n he_o can_v not_o sleep_v without_o music_n and_o the_o like_a all_o that_o they_o have_v and_o enjoy_v in_o the_o world_n all_o their_o greatness_n it_o will_v not_o satisfy_v and_o stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o conscience_n but_o when_o they_o sin_n they_o feel_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n arrest_v and_o they_o aâ—e_v as_o iâ—_n be_v shut_v up_o in_o prison_n under_o the_o terror_n of_o a_o accuse_a conscience_n till_o they_o come_v to_o eternal_a imprisoment_n in_o the_o chain_n of_o hell_n and_o damnation_n this_o be_v the_o estate_n of_o the_o great_a man_n in_o the_o world_n that_o be_v not_o in_o christ._n they_o be_v not_o so_o happy_a as_o we_o think_v they_o be_v they_o be_v imprison_v in_o their_o own_o heart_n though_o they_o walk_v at_o never_o so_o much_o liberty_n abroad_o and_o do_v what_o they_o list_v for_o sin_n and_o death_n go_v together_o and_o before_o eternal_a death_n come_v the_o expectation_n and_o terror_n of_o it_o seize_v on_o they_o for_o the_o present_a so_o that_o whatsoever_o our_o first_o birth_n be_v though_o it_o be_v noble_a and_o great_a yet_o by_o it_o we_o be_v bondslave_n under_o sin_n and_o death_n unless_o our_o second_o birth_n our_o new_a birth_n make_v amends_o for_o flâ—â—e_n for_o the_o baseness_n of_o our_o first_o birth_n this_o prerogative_n our_o spiritual_a nobleness_n be_v such_o a_o estate_n life_n time_n etc._n etc._n and_o for_o death_n i_o will_v set_v a_o roman_a spirit_n against_o death_n say_v a_o roman_a what_o be_v it_o such_o a_o matter_n to_o die_v it_o be_v nothing_o to_o die_v they_o set_v a_o good_a face_n on_o the_o matter_n and_o this_o be_v the_o conceit_n of_o many_o man_n till_o they_o come_v to_o it_o but_o alas_o to_o be_v enthral_v to_o death_n it_o be_v another_o matter_n sin_n for_o behind_o death_n there_o be_v a_o gulf_n a_o man_n may_v break_v the_o hedgewell_n enough_o with_o a_o strong_a resolution_n to_o die_v it_o be_v nothing_o to_o die_v if_o there_o justice_n for_o they_o and_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n have_v quicken_v that_o dead_a body_n of_o he_o that_o be_v surety_n for_o we_o himself_o we_o may_v well_o say_v who_o shall_v lay_v any_o he_o do_v as_o a_o public_a person_n christ._n whatsoever_o may_v be_v terrible_a to_o we_o we_o must_v look_v upon_o it_o first_o in_o christ._n if_o we_o look_v upon_o the_o corruption_n and_o defilement_n in_o our_o nature_n look_v upon_o the_o pure_a nature_n of_o christ_n his_o nature_n be_v sanctify_v in_o his_o birth_n and_o he_o be_v a_o public_a person_n therefore_o this_o be_v for_o i_o and_o though_o i_o be_v defile_v in_o my_o own_o nature_n and_o carry_v the_o remainder_n of_o corruption_n about_o i_o yet_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n sanctify_v his_o nature_n and_o death_n and_o resurrection_n and_o ascension_n to_o glory_n in_o heaven_n for_o all_o that_o he_o do_v be_v as_o a_o public_a person_n as_o the_o second_o adam_n but_o now_o before_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n come_v to_o free_v i_o i_o and_o christ_n must_v be_v one_o there_o must_v be_v a_o union_n between_o i_o and_o christ_n i_o must_v be_v a_o member_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o freedom_n of_o sanctification_n which_o faith_n lay_v hold_v on_o whosoever_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n be_v none_o of_o he_o christ_n as_o a_o head_n derive_v to_o i_o the_o holy_a spirit_n to_o sanctify_v my_o nature_n and_o of_o his_o fullness_n we_o receive_v grace_n for_o grace_n so_o the_o spirit_n of_o sanctification_n in_o christ_n free_v i_o from_o the_o dominion_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n it_o be_v say_v here_o what_o that_o by_o christ_n we_o have_v spiritual_a liberty_n and_o freedom_n not_o from_o sin_n and_o death_n but_o from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o death_n it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o be_v free_v from_o sin_n and_o death_n and_o another_o thing_n to_o be_v free_v from_o the_o law_n of_o they_o for_o we_o be_v not_o indeed_o free_v from_o sin_n and_o death_n but_o from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n that_o be_v from_o the_o condemn_a power_n of_o sin_n that_o though_o sin_n be_v in_o we_o yet_o it_o do_v not_o condemn_v we_o and_o though_o we_o die_v yet_o the_o sting_n be_v pull_v out_o death_n be_v but_o a_o passage_n to_o a_o better_a life_n so_o i_o say_v in_o justification_n we_o be_v free_v from_o the_o condemn_a power_n of_o sin_n and_o in_o sanctification_n from_o the_o command_a power_n of_o sin_n when_o we_o be_v knit_v once_o to_o christ_n we_o have_v the_o obedience_n of_o christ_n we_o in_o justification_n and_o the_o holiness_n of_o christ_n be_v derive_v to_o we_o as_o from_o the_o head_n to_o the_o member_n in_o sanctification_n and_o so_o we_o be_v free_v from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n to_o understand_v this_o a_o little_a better_o the_o same_o spirit_n that_o sanctify_v the_o natural_a body_n the_o humane_a nature_n of_o christ_n whereby_o he_o become_v bone_n of_o our_o bone_n and_o flesh_n of_o our_o flesh_n the_o same_o spirit_n do_v sanctify_v the_o mystical_a body_n of_o christ_n
