the_o church_n of_o corinth_n have_v their_o elder_n by_o who_o council_n they_o be_v rule_v it_o be_v more_o likely_a by_o paul_n his_o epistle_n all_o circumstance_n consider_v that_o they_o have_v as_o then_o none_o especial_a and_o peculiar_a elder_n if_o any_o man_n come_v in_o and_o say_v that_o these_o thing_n happen_v after_o the_o apostle_n time_n and_o that_o hierome_n do_v not_o so_o much_o respect_v the_o church_n of_o corinth_n as_o diverse_a other_o and_o therefore_o speak_v not_o of_o corinth_n but_o of_o the_o people_n who_o be_v fall_v into_o diverse_a schism_n i_o come_v upon_o he_o again_o and_o tell_v he_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o he_o to_o say_v so_o but_o it_o must_v be_v prove_v out_o of_o approve_a history_n what_o those_o scism_n be_v and_o how_o and_o because_o that_o in_o the_o begin_n there_o be_v none_o of_o that_o order_n namely_o so_o long_o as_o the_o faithful_a be_v of_o one_o hart_n &_o one_o soul_n and_o no_o man_n say_v the_o thing_n he_o possess_v be_v his_o own_o but_o after_o that_o through_o the_o instigation_n of_o satan_n the_o greek_n begin_v to_o mutiny_v against_o the_o hebrew_n for_o the_o avoid_v of_o contention_n there_o be_v some_o choose_v to_o be_v deacon_n among_o they_o so_o therefore_o ordain_v of_o custom_n not_o of_o any_o divine_a institution_n the_o which_o how_o weke_o it_o follow_v he_o be_v but_o a_o week_n man_n that_o can_v well_o judge_v for_o albeit_o the_o apostle_n allege_v some_o other_o secundary_a cause_n yet_o it_o be_v most_o certain_a the_o creation_n of_o deacon_n do_v chieffy_a begin_v of_o that_o and_o therefore_o i_o say_v in_o like_a manner_n that_o albeit_o i_o shall_v confess_v
that_o the_o first_o occasion_n of_o create_v one_o bishop_n over_o &_o above_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o elder_n be_v by_o reason_n of_o schism_n notwithstanding_o it_o therefore_o follow_v not_o that_o it_o be_v do_v for_o that_o cause_n only_o or_o that_o it_o be_v not_o do_v of_o any_o divine_a institution_n but_o the_o occasion_n of_o creation_n of_o bishop_n allege_v by_o hierom_n be_v first_o institution_n but_o of_o the_o antiquity_n of_o this_o custom_n we_o will_v call_v hierome_n himself_o for_o a_o witness_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v he_o not_o only_o in_o this_o place_n but_o also_o in_o his_o epistle_n to_o euagrius_n at_o alexandria_n say_v he_o even_o to_o heraclas_n &_o dionysius_n bishop_n the_o elder_n choose_v one_o from_o among_o themselves_o and_o place_v he_o be_v due_a to_o the_o pastor_n of_o the_o church_n that_o all_o that_o do_v pertain_v to_o the_o first_o order_n of_o church-goods_a which_o i_o before_o note_v the_o which_o indeed_o after_o the_o subversion_n of_o monastery_n be_v not_o to_o be_v take_v for_o waste_v so_o long_o as_o there_o be_v any_o church_n remain_v whereupon_o i_o infer_v that_o all_o popish_a idolatry_n be_v put_v down_o only_o those_o thing_n which_o maintain_v either_o tyranny_n or_o idolatry_n do_v devolue_v by_o right_a to_o the_o chequer_n the_o
