the_o esteem_n man_n have_v of_o they_o xiii_o the_o relative_a merit_n of_o man_n be_v many_o time_n much_o great_a than_o their_o personal_a merit_n and_o since_o our_o duty_n be_v to_o be_v of_o our_o duty_n for_o though_o it_o be_v certain_o contain_v in_o the_o immutable_a order_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o exact_o know_v to_o we_o and_o if_o it_o be_v yet_o many_o time_n there_o be_v so_o lie_v the_o difficulty_n for_o we_o must_v at_o the_o same_o time_n have_v regard_n to_o the_o right_n of_o kindred_n of_o friendship_n and_o of_o society_n so_o that_o it_o often_o happen_v that_o we_o be_v oblige_v to_o prefer_v a_o enemy_n before_o a_o friend_n a_o enemy_n who_o be_v a_o friend_n of_o our_o relation_n esteem_v by_o the_o prince_n and_o serviceable_a to_o the_o state_n before_o a_o friend_n who_o be_v a_o person_n useless_a to_o the_o public_a or_o have_v little_a or_o no_o affection_n for_o those_o who_o ought_v to_o be_v most_o dear_a to_o we_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o general_a rule_n for_o the_o government_n of_o ourselves_o in_o the_o duty_n of_o esteem_n respect_n and_o benevolence_n which_o we_o owe_v to_o other_o man_n but_o what_o be_v liable_a to_o a_o great_a many_o exception_n and_o that_o which_o extreme_o perplex_v all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v in_o this_o matter_n be_v that_o the_o duty_n of_o esteem_n respect_n and_o benevolence_n be_v of_o different_a kind_n and_o many_o time_n in_o the_o same_o kind_n we_o ought_v to_o prefer_v one_o man_n as_o to_o the_o duty_n of_o benevolence_n before_o another_o to_o who_o we_o absolute_o owe_v the_o duty_n of_o esteem_n and_o respect_n xv._o see_v then_o the_o order_n of_o our_o duty_n be_v change_v and_o govern_v by_o the_o different_a circumstance_n of_o thing_n which_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a to_o foresee_v every_o man_n shall_v careful_o examine_v they_o and_o retire_v into_o himself_o to_o consult_v the_o immutable_a law_n without_o regard_v those_o false_a interest_n which_o the_o passion_n continual_o represent_v and_o when_o he_o find_v himself_o at_o a_o loss_n he_o shall_v have_v recourse_n to_o such_o as_o be_v better_a skilled_a than_o i_o in_o these_o
