they_o when_o i_o tender_v my_o petition_n there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n at_o all_o vote_v or_o speak_v by_o the_o committee_n at_o my_o last_o come_n before_o they_o when_o mr._n stephens_n be_v in_o the_o chair_n which_o appear_v plain_o if_o we_o consider_v in_o the_o first_o place_n what_o the_o report_n be_v according_a unto_o mr._n ashe_n his_o testimony_n before_o recite_v which_o say_v that_o mr._n stephens_n in_o his_o report_n inform_v the_o house_n that_o the_o opinion_n of_o the_o committee_n be_v i_o have_v slight_v and_o contemn_v the_o authority_n of_o the_o present_a parliament_n and_o forfeit_v their_o mercy_n contain_v in_o the_o article_n of_o exeter_n now_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o mr._n stephens_n have_v no_o direction_n from_o the_o committee_n at_o his_o being_n there_o to_o report_v that_o unto_o the_o house_n as_o their_o opinion_n by_o the_o order_n before_o recite_v which_o be_v no_o more_o but_o that_o he_o shall_v report_v unto_o the_o house_n my_o refuse_v the_o negative_a oath_n and_o covenant_n my_o committal_n for_o it_o my_o carriage_n and_o my_o desire_n for_o a_o allowance_n of_o maintenance_n but_o they_o declare_v no_o opinion_n at_o all_o touch_v my_o carriage_n nor_o do_v ever_o put_v it_o to_o the_o question_n so_o as_o i_o must_v now_o leave_v it_o to_o the_o reader_n judgement_n whether_o of_o we_o two_o speak_v truth_n the_o committee_n or_o from_o mr._n ashe_n the_o chairman_n but_o from_o the_o committee_n he_o have_v no_o such_o instruction_n to_o report_n that_o sir_n john_n stawel_n have_v slight_v and_o contemn_v the_o authority_n of_o the_o present_a parliament_n and_o forfeit_v their_o mercy_n contain_v in_o the_o article_n of_o exeter_n as_o appear_v by_o their_o order_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o infer_v that_o if_o the_o parliament_n do_v not_o make_v sir_n john_n stawel_n a_o traitor_n sir_n john_n stawel_n have_v make_v they_o traitor_n therefore_o this_o must_v needs_o proceed_v from_o mr._n ashe_n who_o as_o it_o seem_v by_o what_o be_v say_v before_o do_v put_v his_o own_o word_n into_o mr._n stephen_n his_o mouth_n or_o otherwise_o mr._n stephen_n must_v have_v speak_v what_o he_o do_v without_o any_o ground_n or_o authority_n whatsoever_o and_o this_o i_o suppose_v mr._n ashe_n will_v be_v very_o unwilling_a to_o acknowledge_v of_o his_o good_a friend_n who_o have_v so_o faithful_o serve_v he_o to_o my_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n reader_n here_o i_o conclude_v this_o vindication_n of_o myself_o and_o my_o remonstrance_n against_o that_o false_a and_o scurrilous_a pamphlet_n publish_v by_o mr._n john_n ashe_n to_o justify_v himself_o and_o asperse_v i_o i_o have_v most_o clear_o prove_v that_o all_o his_o act_n in_o my_o business_n have_v proceed_v out_o of_o
