T. for George Dawes over against Lincolns-Inne-Gate in Chancery Lane 1674. To the READER A Book of JUDGEMENTS out of which this was transcribed coming to the hands of a Stationer who desired to have it Printed if it might be thought fitting He requested my Perusal thereof and furtherance therein I found the same to be most of Special Judgements or Entries in the Court of Common Pleas in the times of King JAMES Queen ELIZABETH and some Ancienter for the most part ill written with too many Abbreviations by c. without Order Table or fitting Marginal Notes Yet finding most part to be of good Matter and Forms and thinking it fit to be Published I first Tabled it and then caused it to be written forth in as good a Method as I could which I Perused and somewhat Corrected adding Marginal Notes I conceive the same principally to concern the Prothonotaries of the Court of Common Pleas and their Clerks of Judgements but may be often useful to Clerks of the Kings Bench the Exchequer Ireland Counties Palatine Franchises and Corporarions and many other Practicers at Law Publick Charity more than any my own Profit concerns or Interest incited me to this work which if well accepted I have my ends I stile this A Second Book of Judgements there being a former Book of Judgements in English Published in the Year 1655.
