so_o please_v he_o have_v make_v we_o toad_n &_o serpent_n second_o we_o must_v consider_v his_o good_a providence_n over_o we_o how_o he_o have_v preserve_v our_o life_n from_o time_n to_o time_n and_o save_v we_o from_o many_o danger_n and_o his_o great_a patience_n must_v not_o be_v forget_v how_o he_o have_v spare_v we_o from_o the_o righteous_a judgement_n of_o our_o sin_n he_o may_v have_v cast_v we_o into_o hell_n in_o our_o mother_n womb_n or_o so_o soon_o as_o we_o be_v bear_v for_o our_o original_a sin_n but_o he_o have_v give_v we_o a_o large_a time_n of_o repentance_n here_o also_o we_o must_v consider_v his_o exceed_a favour_n in_o the_o time_n and_o place_n of_o our_o birth_n and_o life_n he_o may_v have_v suffer_v we_o to_o have_v be_v bear_v among_o infidel_n but_o behold_v we_o be_v bear_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o god_n church_n he_o may_v have_v deprive_v we_o of_o the_o mean_n of_o our_o salvation_n his_o holy_a word_n and_o sacrament_n but_o in_o his_o tender_a mercy_n he_o have_v vouchsafe_v they_o unto_o we_o to_o bring_v our_o soul_n to_o life_n he_o may_v have_v 17._o harden_v our_o heart_n against_o his_o fear_n and_o blind_v our_o eye_n against_o his_o light_n 8._o but_o yet_o he_o have_v enlighten_v our_o mind_n to_o know_v his_o truth_n and_o soften_v our_o heart_n cause_v we_o to_o cry_v unto_o he_o for_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o thrift_n and_o carefulness_n on_o the_o other_o side_n be_v not_o the_o more_o sincere_a profession_n of_o religion_n term_v precysenes_n puritanisme_n hypocrisy_n and_o such_o like_a do_v not_o he_o that_o refrayn_v the_o common_a sin_n of_o the_o time_n make_v himself_o a_o prey_n to_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o ungodly_a now_o where_o these_o thing_n be_v though_o the_o mouth_n say_v i_o be_o a_o sinner_n yet_o the_o heart_n think_v i_o be_o righteous_a and_o so_o it_o be_v apparent_a this_o thought_n be_v common_a among_o us._n sect._n 3_o man_n thought_n of_o security_n in_o the_o day_n of_o peace_n the_o three_o evil_a thought_n concern_v a_o man_n self_n be_v a_o thought_n of_o security_n in_o the_o time_n of_o peace_n and_o prosperity_n man_n say_v thus_o in_o their_o heart_n i_o be_o free_a from_o all_o god_n judgement_n i_o be_o in_o no_o danger_n of_o hell_n death_n or_o damnation_n but_o sure_o enough_o of_o salvation_n it_o may_v be_v think_v that_o none_o be_v so_o bewitch_v of_o the_o devil_n as_o to_o have_v this_o conceit_n of_o himself_o but_o the_o scripture_n be_v most_o plain_a in_o the_o proof_n hereof_o psal._n 10._o 6._o the_o wicked_a man_n such_o as_o be_v 12._o freeze_v in_o their_o dregs_n no_o man_n stir_v up_o himself_o to_o say_v 6._o what_o have_v i_o do_v now_o the_o cause_n hereof_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o this_o curse_a thought_n of_o security_n whereby_o a_o man_n say_v thus_o in_o his_o heart_n i_o be_o free_a from_o god_n judgement_n read_v matth._n 2d_o 37._o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o day_n of_o noah_n say_v our_o saviour_n ourselves_o free_a from_o they_o and_o will_v not_o believe_v till_o the_o besom_n of_o his_o wrath_n sweep_v we_o all_o away_o remedy_n as_o the_o flood_n do_v the_o old_a world_n wherefore_o to_o redress_v among_o we_o this_o damnable_a thought_n of_o security_n let_v we_o consider_v our_o grievous_a sin_n in_o particular_a and_o set_v before_o our_o eye_n the_o curse_n of_o god_n both_o man_n heart_n touch_v himself_o be_v this_o in_o time_n of_o misery_n he_o say_v his_o cross_n be_v great_a and_o worse_a than_o indeed_o they_o be_v so_o jobe_n complain_v in_o his_o affliction_n that_o 3._o his_o grief_n &_o misery_n be_v heavy_a than_o the_o sand_n of_o the_o sea_n shore_n and_o the_o church_n in_o great_a affliction_n call_v thus_o to_o passenger_n 12._o behold_v and_o see_v if_o there_o be_v any_o sorrow_n like_a unto_o my_o sorrow_n which_o be_v do_v unto_o i_o and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o thought_n of_o every_o man_n heart_n natural_o appear_v by_o experience_n want_n of_o judgement_n right_o to_o discern_v the_o state_n of_o their_o affliction_n and_o the_o want_n of_o strength_n to_o support_v it_o as_o it_o be_v for_o if_o thou_o be_v faint_a in_o the_o day_n of_o adversitte_n thy_o strength_n be_v small_a for_o the_o remedy_n of_o this_o evil_a thought_n 10._o first_o we_o must_v seek_v to_o rectify_v the_o imagination_n by_o bring_v the_o mind_n to_o a_o right_a conâ—eit_n of_o the_o affliction_n this_o be_v a_o special_a course_n to_o be_v observe_v in_o deal_v with_o they_o that_o be_v oppress_v with_o any_o distress_n for_o a_o strong_a conceit_n of_o a_o man_n own_o misery_n do_v many_o time_n more_o hurt_v than_o the_o misery_n itself_o therefore_o be_v sure_a the_o judgement_n be_v well_o inform_v and_o then_o the_o cure_n be_v half_o wrought_v and_o the_o cross_n half_o remove_v this_o do_v the_o party_n afflict_v may_v well_o consider_v the_o desert_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o endless_a torment_n
