take_v no_o advantage_n by_o other_o man_n ignorance_n to_o spread_v itself_o and_o to_o get_v growth_n in_o the_o blindness_n of_o error_n but_o at_o the_o time_n of_o christ_n birth_n all_o the_o liberal_a art_n do_v most_o flourish_v there_o be_v a_o general_a peace_n through_o the_o whole_a world_n the_o roman_a empire_n full_o settle_v and_o establish_v poet_n orator_n philosopher_n historian_n never_o more_o excellent_a for_o thus_o it_o stand_v with_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n that_o their_o wit_n and_o quality_n may_v serve_v as_o trial_n and_o touchstone_n of_o his_o truth_n to_o examine_v the_o several_a miracle_n the_o mystery_n and_o moral_a precept_n of_o his_o law_n that_o both_o in_o themselves_o and_o in_o other_o they_o may_v be_v for_o confirmation_n of_o the_o say_v that_o the_o power_n of_o god_n may_v likewise_o discover_v itself_o for_o the_o great_a the_o adversary_n and_o opposition_n be_v the_o more_o noble_a be_v the_o conquest_n and_o therefore_o god_n by_o the_o weakness_n and_o foolishness_n of_o preach_v confound_v the_o strength_n and_o wisdom_n of_o this_o world_n do_v therein_o manifest_a a_o miracle_n to_o continue_v for_o all_o succeed_a age_n now_o this_o faith_n as_o find_v a_o strong_a opposition_n by_o learning_n and_o humane_a knowledge_n so_o in_o the_o apostle_n it_o can_v not_o be_v accompany_v with_o ignorance_n and_o therefore_o as_o god_n give_v they_o the_o gift_n of_o tongue_n so_o undoubted_o the_o knowledge_n of_o nature_n the_o same_o god_n be_v the_o god_n both_o of_o nature_n and_o grace_n for_o they_o can_v not_o demonstrate_v the_o one_o without_o some_o reference_n and_o relation_n to_o the_o other_o here_o you_o see_v the_o church_n plant_v now_o in_o the_o great_a world_n as_o man_n come_v near_o the_o first_o mould_n so_o be_v they_o more_o perfect_a both_o for_o strength_n of_o body_n and_o continuance_n of_o year_n that_o so_o they_o may_v intend_v a_o propagation_n of_o their_o kind_n so_o be_v it_o in_o the_o growth_n of_o the_o church_n the_o first_o father_n which_o do_v near_o approach_v to_o the_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n have_v a_o great_a measure_n of_o knowledge_n by_o the_o imposition_n of_o their_o hand_n that_o so_o they_o may_v be_v better_o enable_v and_o instruct_v for_o the_o conversion_n of_o nation_n father_n thus_o the_o prophet_n in_o the_o old_a law_n speak_v of_o the_o flourish_a kingdom_n of_o christ_n seem_v to_o point_n at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o father_n and_o as_o it_o be_v to_o seal_v they_o before_o hand_n and_o to_o proclaim_v they_o to_o the_o whole_a world_n as_o orthodoxal_a and_o therefore_o as_o fit_a precedent_n and_o example_n for_o all_o future_a age_n and_o succession_n to_o follow_v so_o that_o to_o detract_v from_o the_o father_n and_o the_o primitive_a age_n be_v to_o detract_v from_o god_n providence_n and_o under_o colour_n of_o a_o naked_a text_n which_o may_v wâ—ll_n admit_v diverse_a exposition_n to_o draw_v all_o thing_n to_o innovation_n and_o uncertainty_n in_o the_o last_o place_n i_o will_v speak_v of_o the_o life_n and_o of_o the_o death_n both_o of_o ourselves_o and_o of_o the_o ancient_n as_o man_n come_v not_o to_o that_o strength_n and_o growth_n which_o heretofore_o he_o do_v ancient_n so_o undoubted_o he_o be_v soon_o ripen_v and_o come_v to_o that_o weakness_n which_o nature_n have_v appoint_v he_o them_z heretofore_o he_o do_v and_o be_v not_o of_o that_o sound_a constitution_n as_o the_o ancient_n be_v he_o have_v not_o that_o certainty_n in_o the_o course_n of_o his_o life_n but_o upon_o all_o occasion_n out_o of_o his_o weakness_n he_o be_v apt_a and_o ready_a to_o fall_v this_o i_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o our_o gentry_n in_o these_o day_n shall_v desire_v to_o match_v their_o child_n so_o young_a and_o that_o the_o child_n themselves_o shall_v in_o the_o spring_n or_o morning_n of_o their_o age_n be_v so_o fit_a to_o engender_v now_o for_o the_o length_n of_o our_o life_n some_o have_v be_v much_o mistake_v suppose_v that_o it_o may_v be_v fit_o gather_v by_o the_o reign_v of_o prince_n in_o former_a time_n whereas_o indeed_o there_o be_v little_a heed_n to_o be_v take_v unto_o they_o see_v the_o time_n of_o their_o government_n have_v no_o relation_n to_o the_o year_n of_o their_o age_n but_o to_o the_o death_n of_o their_o ancestor_n or_o to_o the_o time_n of_o their_o election_n so_o that_o if_o you_o will_v suppose_v the_o predecessor_n to_o live_v long_o the_o successor_n may_v likewise_o live_v long_o yet_o reign_v but_o a_o short_a time_n and_o heretofore_o prince_n do_v more_o adventure_n themselves_o in_o the_o danger_n of_o their_o war_n than_o now_o they_o
