character_n of_o believer_n for_o than_o they_o know_v that_o other_o mighty_a privilege_n belong_v to_o they_o of_o course_n but_o what_o may_v not_o these_o believer_n cheat_v and_o lie_v commit_v adultery_n steal_v murder_n and_o rebel_n why_o yes_o they_o may_v and_o nothing_o be_v more_o common_a than_o to_o see_v such_o believer_n do_v such_o thing_n but_o how_o then_o can_v they_o escape_v the_o charge_n of_o all_o that_o gild_n that_o natural_o follow_v from_o such_o enormity_n why_o thus_o you_o must_v in_o this_o case_n with_o great_a care_n and_o accuracy_n distinguish_v between_o the_o act_n of_o lie_v and_o the_o sin_n of_o lie_v the_o act_n of_o steal_v and_o the_o sin_n of_o steal_v and_o the_o act_n of_o rebellion_n and_o the_o sin_n of_o rebellion_n now_o though_o all_o these_o act_n be_v frequent_a and_o usual_a with_o such_o person_n yet_o they_o be_v sure_a as_o they_o order_v the_o matter_n never_o to_o be_v guilty_a of_o the_o sin_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o it_o be_v not_o the_o quality_n of_o the_o action_n that_o derive_v a_o qualification_n upon_o the_o person_n so_o as_o to_o render_v he_o such_o or_o such_o good_a or_o bad_a but_o it_o be_v the_o antecedent_n quality_n or_o condition_n of_o the_o person_n that_o denominate_v his_o action_n and_o stamp_v they_o good_a or_o evil._n so_o that_o they_o be_v those_o only_o who_o be_v first_o wicked_a that_o do_v wicked_a action_n but_o believer_n and_o the_o godly_a though_o they_o do_v the_o very_a same_o thing_n yet_o they_o so_o much_o outwit_n the_o devil_n in_o the_o do_n of_o they_o that_o they_o never_o commit_v the_o same_o sin_n but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o come_v they_o by_o such_o a_o great_a and_o strange_a privilege_n why_o they_o will_v tell_v you_o it_o be_v because_o they_o be_v not_o under_o the_o oblige_a power_n of_o the_o law_n and_o if_o you_o ask_v further_o how_o they_o come_v to_o get_v from_o under_o that_o common_a obligation_n that_o lie_v so_o hard_a and_o heavy_a upon_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n they_o will_v tell_v you_o it_o be_v from_o this_o that_o believer_n instead_o of_o the_o law_n have_v the_o spirit_n actual_o dwell_v in_o they_o and_o by_o a_o admirable_a kind_n of_o invisible_a clockwork_n move_v they_o just_a as_o a_o spring_n do_v a_o watch_n and_o that_o immediate_o by_o himself_o alone_o without_o the_o mediation_n of_o any_o write_a law_n or_o rule_n to_o guide_v or_o direct_v and_o much_o less_o to_o command_v or_o oblige_v they_o so_o that_o the_o spirit_n we_o see_v be_v to_o be_v their_o sole_a director_n without_o and_o very_o often_o contrary_a to_o the_o write_v law_n a_o excellent_a contrivance_n doubtless_o to_o authorise_v and_o sanctify_v the_o black_a and_o most_o flagitious_a action_n that_o can_v proceed_v from_o man._n for_o since_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o they_o so_o confident_o suppose_v themselves_o to_o have_v can_v so_o much_o as_o in_o thing_n good_a and_o lawful_a by_o any_o certain_a diagnostic_n be_v distinguish_v from_o the_o motion_n of_o a_o man_n be_v own_o heart_n they_o very_o easy_o make_v a_o step_n further_o and_o even_o in_o thing_n unlawful_a conclude_v the_o motion_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n to_o be_v the_o impulse_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o this_o present_o alter_v the_o whole_a complexion_n of_o a_o action_n that_o will_v otherwise_o look_v but_o very_o scurvy_o and_o make_v it_o absolute_o pure_a and_o unblameable_a or_o rather_o perfect_a and_o meritorious_a so_o that_o let_v a_o man_n have_v but_o impudence_n and_o wickedness_n enough_o to_o libel_v his_o maker_n and_o to_o entitle_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o all_o that_o he_o do_v or_o desire_n sur-naming_a his_o own_o inclination_n and_o appetite_n though_o never_o so_o irregular_a and_o impure_a the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o you_o may_v upon_o very_o sure_a ground_n turn_v he_o loose_v and_o bid_v he_o sin_n if_o he_o can_v and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o sort_n of_o doctrine_n which_o once_o believe_v like_o the_o floodgate_n of_o hell_n pull_v up_o le_fw-fr we_o in_o a_o deluge_n and_o inundation_n of_o all_o sin_n and_o vice_n upon_o the_o live_v of_o men._n and_o if_o this_o be_v the_o natural_a effect_n of_o the_o doctrine_n themselves_o we_o can_v in_o all_o reason_n but_o infer_v that_o the_o interest_n
