so_o much_o and_o yet_o lest_o they_o shall_v imagine_v god_n speak_v only_o to_o affright_v they_o with_o word_n full_a of_o wind_n for_o hypocrite_n be_v wont_a to_o flatter_v themselves_o under_o this_o pretext_n that_o god_n speak_v not_o in_o good_a earnest_n but_o only_o fray_v man_n as_o if_o he_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o little_a child_n he_o say_v also_o i_o have_v think_v it_o he_o say_v before_o he_o speak_v that_o be_v as_o have_v respect_n to_o the_o prophet_n but_o now_o in_o say_v he_o think_v it_o he_o mean_v that_o the_o prophecy_n shall_v manifest_v their_o power_n wherein_o god_n have_v threaten_v the_o jew_n with_o ruin_n out_o of_o his_o own_o secret_a counsel_n this_o say_v he_o be_v decree_v with_o i_o afterward_o he_o add_v i_o repent_v not_o in_o a_o word_n he_o show_v that_o the_o jew_n be_v destinate_a to_o destruction_n lest_o they_o shall_v persuade_v themselves_o that_o god_n can_v be_v appease_v while_o they_o go_v on_o in_o their_o sin_n because_o he_o be_v determine_v to_o proceed_v in_o judgement_n against_o they_o and_o not_o only_o signify_v the_o same_o by_o his_o prophet_n but_o have_v also_o conclude_v thereof_o in_o his_o own_o breast_n the_o word_n repentance_n be_v take_v here_o for_o mutation_n or_o change_n for_o god_n be_v not_o subject_a to_o repent_v in_o regard_n all_o thing_n be_v well_o enough_o know_v to_o he_o but_o he_o speak_v after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n as_o i_o say_v erewhile_o god_n repentance_n improper_o attribute_v to_o god_n and_o that_o which_o follow_v remoove_v away_o all_o ambiguity_n or_o doubt_n for_o he_o say_v i_o will_v not_o turn_v away_o from_o it_o that_o be_v i_o will_v not_o call_v back_o my_o sentence_n it_o follow_v verse_n 29._o every_o city_n shall_v flee_v for_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o horseman_n and_o of_o the_o archer_n they_o shall_v dig_v into_o the_o thickness_n according_a to_o other_o into_o the_o cloud_n the_o hebrew_n word_n signify_v exposition_n will_v be_v the_o more_o firm_a if_o we_o retain_v the_o word_n cloud_n as_o touch_v the_o sum_n we_o see_v well_o enough_o what_o his_o meaning_n be_v namely_o that_o the_o enemy_n shall_v be_v of_o such_o agility_n that_o they_o shall_v outstrip_v the_o eagle_n by_o their_o nimbleness_n in_o come_v to_o subdue_v and_o overthrow_v the_o state_n of_o the_o jew_n or_o according_a to_o that_o which_o other_o think_v which_o also_o be_v most_o receive_v the_o jew_n shall_v be_v put_v to_o their_o shift_n in_o such_o wise_a that_o they_o shall_v not_o only_o flee_v out_o of_o their_o city_n but_o shall_v enter_v the_o top_n of_o the_o high_a mountain_n to_o hide_v themselves_o there_o among_o the_o tree_n and_o bush_n as_o among_o the_o cloud_n also_o they_o shall_v ascend_v up_o unto_o the_o rock_n why_o so_o because_o they_o shall_v not_o think_v themselves_o otherwise_o in_o safety_n in_o regard_n of_o the_o incursion_n and_o assault_n of_o the_o enemy_n upon_o my_o word_n to_o accomplish_v it_o for_o god_n attribute_n nothing_o to_o jeremiah_n that_o be_v proper_a or_o peculiar_a to_o himself_o but_o he_o only_o magnify_v the_o efficacy_n of_o his_o word_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o thou_o remain_v a_o faithful_a servant_n to_o i_o i_o will_v neither_o disappoint_v thou_o of_o thy_o hope_n nor_o those_o which_o shall_v obey_v thy_o prophecy_n sum_n the_o sum_n now_o the_o sum_n be_v that_o the_o chaldaean_n be_v come_v to_o destroy_v the_o city_n of_o jerusalem_n to_o take_v away_o and_o abolish_v the_o dignity_n both_o of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o of_o the_o priesthood_n this_o be_v foretell_v and_o threaten_v before_o as_o well_o by_o isaiah_n as_o other_o of_o the_o prophet_n but_o all_o the_o prophecy_n be_v contemn_v chaldaean_n domineer_v over_o the_o assyrian_n and_o thus_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o almost_o all_o the_o empire_n of_o the_o east_n the_o mede_n and_o persian_n except_v be_v subject_v under_o idol_n which_o their_o own_o finger_n have_v make_v for_o whence_o come_v it_o that_o the_o superstitious_a and_o infidel_n worship_v stock_n and_o stone_n but_o because_o themselves_o have_v frame_v unto_o they_o nose_n hand_n and_o ear_n no_o man_n be_v so_o mad_a to_o adore_v a_o formelesse_a log_n or_o trunk_n of_o wood_n who_o be_v it_o that_o set_v not_o light_a by_o a_o confuse_a lump_n of_o brass_n and_o silver_n neither_o will_v any_o be_v so_o senseless_a as_o to_o imagine_v a_o stone_n to_o be_v god_n but_o let_v there_o be_v but_o a_o little_a engrave_v or_o some_o artificial_a shape_n of_o a_o man_n add_v thereto_o and_o by_o and_o by_o poor_a blind_a and_o miserable_a idolater_n bow_v down_o before_o pillar_n picture_n and_o image_n ask_v the_o reason_n true_o because_o they_o have_v make_v they_o eye_n ear_n etc._n etc._n they_o then_o have_v make_v god_n therefore_o you_o now_o see_v the_o prophet_n drift_n when_o he_o say_v that_o the_o jew_n worship_v the_o clean_a from_o the_o blood_n of_o all_o man_n because_o he_o have_v teach_v from_o house_n to_o house_n and_o publish_v that_o whole_a council_n of_o god_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v act._n agree_v very_o well_o for_o the_o jew_n never_o dream_v that_o the_o king_n of_o babel_n will_v come_v up_o from_o a_o place_n so_o far_o remote_a from_o they_o in_o regard_n the_o passage_n be_v very_o uneven_a to_o lead_v or_o conduct_v a_o army_n through_o and_o yet_o the_o prophet_n say_v the_o lion_n shall_v come_v forth_o of_o his_o thicket_n or_o burrow_n and_o that_o nothing_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o hinder_v his_o passage_n nor_o entrance_n into_o the_o open_a field_n in_o the_o end_n he_o conclude_v that_o the_o city_n shall_v be_v raze_v so_o as_o no_o inhabitant_n shall_v that_o god_n will_v come_v in_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n which_o shall_v not_o serve_v as_o before_o to_o cleanse_v and_o purge_v they_o by_o send_v away_o their_o ofscouring_n into_o the_o wind_n
