for_o the_o punishment_n which_o after_o the_o death_n of_o the_o body_n they_o be_v persuade_v through_o a_o secret_a feel_n of_o nature_n their_o soul_n be_v to_o suffer_v but_o now_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n the_o former_a cogitation_n do_v increase_v the_o joy_n and_o comfort_n of_o the_o virtuous_a see_v they_o not_o only_o rejoice_v at_o the_o death_n of_o the_o body_n by_o mean_n whereof_o they_o be_v discharge_v of_o all_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o world_n but_o also_o and_o this_o in_o far_o great_a measure_n at_o the_o certain_a expectation_n of_o that_o felicity_n and_o happiness_n wherewith_o after_o their_o death_n they_o shall_v be_v replenish_v now_o from_o all_o this_o heretofore_o deliver_v &_o set_v down_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o objection_n and_o reason_n of_o pliny_n be_v most_o weak_a &_o frivolous_a as_o procede_v rather_o from_o a_o inveterated_a hate_n and_o aversion_n of_o the_o contrary_a doctrine_n then_o from_o any_o force_n and_o ground_n of_o reason_n but_o here_o one_o perhaps_o may_v reply_v &_o say_v be_v it_o so_o that_o the_o soul_n be_v immortal_a notwithstanding_o it_o may_v so_o be_v that_o after_o this_o life_n it_o shall_v suffer_v no_o evil_n but_o enjoy_v great_a liberty_n busi_v itself_o in_o the_o contemplation_n of_o thing_n or_o if_o it_o shall_v suffer_v any_o punishment_n yet_o this_o sufferance_n shall_v not_o be_v perpetual_a but_o long_o or_o short_a according_a to_o the_o proportion_n &_o nature_n of_o its_o offence_n commit_v in_o this_o world_n and_o that_o great_a sin_n shall_v be_v expiate_v with_o a_o more_o long_a punishment_n or_o at_o least_o with_o a_o more_o grievous_a and_o lesser_a with_o a_o short_a or_o more_o gentle_a chastisement_n indeed_o i_o grant_v the_o frivolous_a and_o not_o warrant_v with_o any_o reason_n for_o grant_v that_o soul_n do_v live_v after_o this_o life_n what_o then_o be_v more_o easy_a to_o be_v believe_v then_o that_o they_o receive_v either_o reward_n or_o pain_n according_a to_o their_o different_a comporttment_n in_o this_o world_n since_o otherwise_o where_o shall_v the_o providance_n of_o god_n be_v or_o where_o justice_n but_o of_o this_o point_n we_o have_v abundant_o discourse_v above_o furthermore_o if_o soul_n for_o a_o certain_a time_n can_v subsist_v without_o a_o body_n why_o can_v they_o not_o for_o ever_o continue_v so_o for_o see_v they_o be_v simple_a and_o uncompounded_a substance_n they_o can_v in_o process_n of_o time_n grow_v old_a or_o loose_v their_o strength_n and_o vigour_n as_o body_n compound_v of_o element_n do_v now_o if_o they_o can_v but_o for_o one_o instant_n exist_v and_o live_v without_o a_o body_n they_o can_v they_o for_o all_o eternity_n persevere_v in_o that_o state_n as_o be_v not_o subject_a to_o any_o extinguishment_n or_o destruction_n as_o the_o whole_a school_n of_o the_o peripatetik_n and_o aristotle_n himself_o do_v teach_v for_o there_o be_v nothing_o they_o can_v be_v dissolve_v and_o vanish_v away_o into_o air_n by_o mean_n of_o fire_n as_o body_n be_v no_o less_o absurd_a for_o the_o soul_n be_v not_o a_o body_n or_o a_o oyle-substance_n which_o can_v be_v set_v on_o fire_n but_o it_o be_v a_o spirit_n more_o thin_a pure_a and_o light_n than_o either_o air_n or_o fire_n but_o what_o be_v
