rebuke_v of_o the_o jew_n which_o as_o touch_v sin_n be_v like_a or_o worse_o than_o the_o heathen_a how_o be_v it_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o it_o behove_v a_o godly_a and_o true_a chrystian_a man_n to_o take_v heed_n and_o be_v fearful_a how_o he_o judge_v his_o neighbour_n and_o condemn_v his_o brother_n in_o all_o his_o fault_n or_o in_o such_o as_o he_o thynk_v himself_o blame_v worthy_a lest_o he_o judge_v that_o nought_o which_o god_n accept_v &_o take_v for_o good_a or_o that_o for_o good_a which_o of_o itself_o be_v stark_o nought_o 12._o therefore_o oh_o thou_o vain_a man_n what_o soever_o thou_o be_v the_o boast_v thyself_o in_o the_o act_n &_o holiness_n of_o thine_o own_o life_n and_o condemn_v another_o man_n in_o his_o do_n thou_o very_o be_v to_o rash_a in_o judgement_n and_o in_o great_a danger_n of_o god_n indignation_n for_o in_o that_o thou_o condemn_v another_o man_n thou_o just_o also_o condemn_v thyself_o because_o thou_o do_v even_o the_o same_o which_o thou_o condemn_v in_o the_o other_o and_o thus_o thou_o be_v guilty_a with_o he_o who_o thou_o judge_v of_o the_o same_o crime_n thou_o give_v sentence_n utter_o against_o thy_o own_o self_n some_o one_o man_n may_v soon_o be_v beguile_v and_o another_o may_v peradventure_o easy_o annoy_v his_o condemnation_n among_o man_n which_o give_v their_o judgement_n only_o upon_o conjecture_n but_o no_o man_n may_v annoy_v the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n who_o see_v in_o secret_a all_o thing_n who_o judgement_n be_v true_a and_o who_o sentence_n be_v pronounce_v not_o upon_o conjecture_n or_o doubtful_a case_n but_o according_a to_o truth_n and_o most_o certain_a knowledge_n as_o he_o be_v almighty_a and_o a_o god_n of_o truth_n therefore_o oh_o thou_o gentile_a for_o even_o thou_o doâ—_n i_o mean_v all_o this_o while_n judgement_n and_o speak_v unto_o thou_o even_o in_o the_o vowel_n of_o chryst_n that_o thou_o diligent_o take_v heed_n lest_o through_o pride_n in_o thyself_o thou_o over_o rash_o condemn_v the_o poor_a and_o unhappy_a jew_n which_o be_v now_o fall_v into_o the_o aforesaid_a abominable_a vice_n for_o assure_v thyself_o in_o condemn_v the_o jew_n thou_o do_v not_o only_o give_v sentence_n against_o thine_o own_o self_n because_o thou_o comitte_v even_o the_o same_o fault_n but_o shall_v be_v sure_a also_o to_o abide_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n against_o thou_o as_o it_o be_v against_o the_o jew_n for_o think_v thou_o to_o avoid_v the_o punishment_n of_o god_n which_o finne_v against_o he_o and_o can_v not_o avoid_v the_o displeasure_n of_o he_o in_o this_o world_n and_o in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v who_o respect_v no_o person_n and_o who_o thou_o haste_v to_o grievous_o offend_v or_o do_v thou_o think_v it_o convenient_a to_o avoid_v the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n see_v thou_o will_v suffer_v no_o man_n to_o avoid_v thy_o judgement_n which_o offend_v thou_o or_o do_v the_o softness_n of_o our_o lord_n in_o leave_v thou_o unpunished_a for_o a_o time_n give_v thou_o occasion_n to_o contemn_v and_o despise_v he_o as_o though_o he_o do_v wink_v at_o thy_o sin_n or_o favour_v thou_o in_o the_o do_n of_o they_o thou_o shall_v rather_o revolve_v with_o thyself_o that_o his_o softness_n merciful_a lenity_n long_o suffer_v and_o great_a gentleness_n do_v not_o put_v away_o from_o thou_o his_o justice_n sharp_a judgement_n and_o punishment_n 17._o but_o meek_o and_o gentle_o allure_v thou_o unto_o himself_o and_o draw_v thou_o thereby_o to_o hearty_a and_o true_a repentance_n and_o use_v unto_o thou_o first_o his_o gentleness_n to_o the_o end_n that_o for_o his_o sake_n again_o with_o like_a virtue_n thou_o shall_v begin_v to_o hate_v and_o reform_v thyself_o but_o thou_o do_v all_o to_o the_o contrary_a for_o thou_o make_v of_o his_o gentleness_n towards_o thyself_o abuse_v a_o occasion_n of_o thine_o own_o damnation_n because_o thou_o will_v not_o by_o gentleness_n and_o meekness_n be_v orderly_a bring_v into_o the_o right_a service_n of_o god_n wherefore_o the_o more_o that_o god_n stir_v thou_o hereby_o to_o perfect_a piety_n and_o true_a godliness_n the_o more_o thou_o heap_a upon_o thyself_o the_o treasure_n of_o condemnation_n and_o the_o ire_n of_o god_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o as_o a_o christian_a conform_v thine_o act_n thereunto_o which_o although_o he_o do_v not_o now_o hasty_o appearâ—_n unto_o thou_o with_o the_o swiftness_n of_o his_o fury_n yet_o have_v he_o his_o time_n of_o judgement_n over_o thou_o 61._o &_o will_v most_o just_o be_v revenge_v upon_o thou_o at_o the_o terrible_a and_o most_o dreadful_a day_n of_o doom_n vengeance_n when_o he_o shall_v put_v apart_o his_o clemency_n and_o softness_n and_o give_v more_o sharp_a and_o bitter_a punishment_n both_o unto_o thou_o and_o to_o all_o such_o as_o before_o be_v more_o stir_v to_o repentance_n by_o his_o great_a mildness_n unspeakable_a love_n and_o gentleness_n at_o which_o great_a and_o terrible_a day_n he_o will_v give_v his_o judgement_n not_o according_a to_o the_o manner_n and_o custom_n of_o man_n sometime_o favour_v one_o party_n more_o than_o another_o or_o like_o such_o a_o one_o which_o be_v often_o deceive_v in_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o judgement_n but_o as_o a_o god_n almighty_a 61._o most_o upright_o &_o true_o know_v all_o thing_n will_v reward_v every_o man_n most_o upright_o according_a to_o his_o due_a desert_n to_o some_o he_o will_v give_v everlasting_a life_n that_o be_v to_o all_o those_o which_o persevere_v in_o godly_a life_n and_o conversation_n do_v not_o hunt_v after_o the_o corrupt_a frail_a and_o vain_a pleasure_n of_o this_o world_n but_o do_v seek_v after_o the_o true_a glory_n honour_n of_o god_n &_o immortality_n and_o to_o some_o which_o in_o their_o pride_n and_o stateliness_n have_v rather_o obey_v to_o injustice_n than_o to_o true_a righteousness_n to_o lie_v untruth_n &_o superstition_n 1._o than_o to_o the_o truth_n and_o holiness_n of_o god_n commandment_n shall_v be_v give_v the_o reward_n of_o indignation_n the_o ire_n of_o god_n the_o affliction_n and_o torment_v of_o the_o devil_n and_o of_o a_o gnaw_a and_o damn_a conscience_n which_o punishment_n abide_v indifferent_o all_o man_n that_o careless_o live_v to_o offend_v but_o first_o of_o all_o the_o jew_n and_o then_o the_o gentile_a that_o the_o jew_n may_v have_v the_o first_o plague_n and_o punishment_n which_o first_o of_o all_o other_o have_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n offer_v unto_o he_o contrariwise_o glory_n honour_n peace_n and_o immortality_n shall_v be_v give_v indifferent_o unto_o all_o man_n that_o embrace_v god_n will_v and_o live_v well_o but_o first_o unto_o abraham_n and_o to_o the_o jew_n 2._o and_o after_o to_o the_o gentile_a for_o god_n have_v no_o respect_n to_o person_n as_o other_o judge_n of_o the_o world_n have_v but_o he_o be_v perfect_o just_a upright_o and_o true_o indifferent_a to_o all_o man_n therefore_o what_o so_o ever_o they_o be_v that_o offend_v have_v no_o law_n shall_v so_o perish_v without_o law_n and_o who_o so_o ever_o have_v receive_v the_o law_n and_o offend_v therein_o shall_v also_o be_v condemn_v by_o the_o law_n 1._o neither_o shall_v it_o be_v enough_o for_o the_o jew_n to_o have_v hear_v the_o law_n and_o so_o to_o think_v himself_o the_o rather_o just_a before_o god_n but_o they_o which_o in_o christ_n do_v the_o act_n and_o deed_n of_o the_o law_n shall_v be_v before_o he_o justify_v and_o impute_v righteous_a god_n only_o himself_o be_v all_o goodness_n and_o therefore_o he_o most_o allow_v and_o approve_v the_o good_a work_v of_o man_n though_o there_o be_v among_o they_o punishment_n no_o law_n at_o all_o write_v and_o the_o displeasure_n of_o god_n be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o over_o they_o which_o have_v a_o law_n because_o they_o frame_v not_o their_o life_n according_a to_o the_o law_n how_o be_v it_o it_o can_v be_v true_o say_v that_o there_o be_v man_n which_o live_v to_o themselves_o without_o law_n for_o all_o nation_n that_o be_v though_o they_o have_v not_o the_o write_a law_n of_o moses_n yet_o they_o do_v in_o effect_v the_o work_n of_o moses_n law_n because_o they_o have_v the_o law_n of_o nature_n graft_v in_o their_o heart_n and_o what_o so_o ever_o thing_n be_v command_v and_o do_v under_o the_o law_n by_o they_o that_o have_v it_o write_v in_o book_n and_o table_n the_o same_o do_v they_o also_o which_o have_v the_o law_n of_o nature_n graft_v in_o their_o heart_n for_o all_o such_o their_o own_o conscience_n do_v secret_o save_v or_o condemn_v they_o they_o have_v cogitation_n and_o thought_n within_o themselves_o 25._o that_o daily_o do_v both_o accuse_v and_o excuse_v they_o god_n shall_v judge_v all_o these_o according_a to_o the_o same_o secret_a law_n of_o nature_n which_o though_o it_o be_v not_o now_o open_o know_v
to_o man_n yet_o god_n which_o know_v all_o thing_n and_o see_v all_o thing_n in_o secret_a shall_v give_v his_o judgement_n thereafter_o but_o this_o judgement_n shall_v be_v do_v of_o god_n by_o his_o dear_a son_n which_o be_v now_o our_o lord_n and_o most_o righteous_a saviour_n and_o shall_v be_v at_o the_o judgement_n day_n the_o judge_n of_o all_o the_o world_n which_o thing_n be_v the_o true_a say_n of_o the_o gospel_n lest_o it_o be_v take_v of_o some_o for_o a_o fable_n or_o dream_n whereof_o i_o now_o most_o reverent_o speak_v therefore_o oh_o thou_o jew_n that_o stand_v so_o much_o in_o thine_o own_o conceit_n and_o be_v proud_a that_o be_v call_v a_o jew_n 8._o make_v thy_o reckon_v upon_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v give_v of_o god_n only_o unto_o thou_o and_o do_v vaunt_v and_o boast_n god_n to_o be_v the_o author_n of_o thy_o religion_n who_o mind_n and_o pleasure_n thou_o know_v by_o the_o scripture_n that_o come_v from_o he_o and_o be_v bring_v up_o and_o teach_v in_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o law_n whereby_o thou_o do_v not_o only_o know_v what_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v avoid_v and_o what_o to_o be_v follow_v and_o of_o all_o good_a thing_n what_o be_v the_o best_a but_o also_o think_v thyself_o able_a to_o be_v a_o guide_n unto_o the_o blind_a and_o to_o shine_v before_o they_o which_o be_v in_o darkness_n that_o be_v to_o be_v a_o teacher_n of_o they_o that_o be_v rude_a and_o to_o be_v a_o instructor_n of_o they_o which_o have_v no_o knowledge_n all_o which_o thing_n though_o god_n have_v show_v they_o unto_o thou_o in_o give_v the_o law_n only_o unto_o thou_o shall_v thou_o therefore_o think_v thyself_o better_a than_o the_o gentile_a no_o very_o work_v but_o the_o law_n which_o god_n have_v give_v thou_o for_o good_a make_v thy_o cause_n and_o matter_n worse_a before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n except_o thou_o direct_a thy_o life_n and_o conversation_n according_a to_o the_o law_n in_o which_o thou_o do_v so_o much_o glory_n and_o make_v thy_o boast_n else_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o law_n whereof_o thou_o so_o great_o make_v thine_o account_n dangerous_a shall_v be_v a_o very_a snare_n to_o take_v thou_o withal_o to_o thine_o utter_a overthrow_n and_o confusion_n therefore_o oh_o thou_o vain_a man_n which_o boast_v of_o the_o law_n why_o do_v thou_o advance_v thyself_o on_o this_o manner_n why_o teach_v thou_o another_o and_o leave_v thyself_o untaught_a 7._o why_o do_v thou_o preach_v that_o theft_n shall_v not_o be_v commit_v and_o yet_o thou_o thyself_o be_v a_o thief_n why_o do_v thou_o command_v other_o to_o forsake_v adultery_n and_o thou_o thyself_o be_v defile_v therewith_o why_o do_v thou_o banish_v idolatry_n in_o another_o and_o be_v thyself_o pollute_v with_o worship_v of_o image_n and_o in_o conclusion_n why_o do_v thou_o glory_n amongst_o man_n in_o that_o thou_o have_v receive_v the_o law_n at_o god_n hand_n and_o in_o transgress_v the_o fame_n do_v dishonour_v god_n for_o in_o that_o thou_o seek_v praise_n and_o honour_n of_o man_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n thou_o be_v become_v a_o vessel_n of_o much_o dishonour_n to_o god_n which_o shall_v by_o thou_o only_o have_v all_o the_o honour_n and_o glory_n and_o although_o no_o man_n iniquity_n can_v in_o deed_n dishonour_n god_n yet_o thou_o do_v as_o much_o as_o in_o thou_o lie_v to_o dishonour_v he_o of_o the_o like_a sort_n of_o man_n 36._o the_o holy_a prophet_n héertofore_o have_v speak_v as_o it_o be_v write_v in_o isaiah_n and_o ezechiel_n the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n say_v they_o be_v slander_v by_o you_o and_o have_v through_o your_o fault_n a_o evil_a report_n among_o the_o nation_n that_o be_v incline_v to_o idolatry_n in_o as_o much_o as_o you_o proud_o glory_n in_o the_o only_a title_n of_o the_o law_n and_o yet_o among_o yourselves_o do_v live_v most_o sinful_o and_o wretched_o against_o the_o law_n neither_o be_v it_o sufficient_a for_o thou_o to_o be_v a_o jew_n bear_v or_o to_o be_v of_o the_o jew_n religion_n for_o than_o shall_v circumcision_n only_o profit_v thou_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o thou_o perform_v the_o thing_n for_o who_o cause_n circumcision_n be_v first_o give_v and_o also_o accomplish_v such_o thing_n in_o thy_o life_n which_o thou_o profess_v in_o thy_o ceremony_n otherwise_o if_o thou_o transgress_v the_o law_n it_o shall_v no_o more_o profit_v thou_o to_o be_v circumcise_a before_o the_o face_n of_o the_o just_a god_n than_o though_o thou_o be_v never_o circumcise_a wherefore_o like_v as_o circumcision_n be_v turn_v to_o uncircumcision_n unless_o thou_o also_o perform_v the_o other_o deed_n of_o the_o law_n which_o appertain_v to_o good_a manner_n and_o upright_o conversation_n even_o so_o uncircumcision_n shall_v not_o hurt_v the_o gentile_a but_o shall_v be_v accept_v for_o circumcision_n if_o be_v leave_v and_o forsake_v the_o ceremony_n of_o the_o law_n and_o perform_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o deed_n the_o whole_a sum_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v a_o pure_a and_o a_o clean_a life_n and_o shall_v also_o obey_v christ_n which_o be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o law_n therefore_o thou_o jewe_v the_o gentile_a shall_v be_v make_v equal_a with_o thou_o in_o this_o behalf_n yea_o he_o shall_v be_v prefer_v before_o thou_o and_o be_v better_o take_v than_o thou_o because_o he_o know_v no_o circumcision_n and_o his_o innocence_n and_o clean_a life_n shall_v make_v thine_o iniquity_n more_o damnable_a because_o he_o not_o profess_v the_o law_n do_v yet_o declare_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n in_o the_o act_n of_o his_o good_a and_o godly_a life_n where_o thou_o glory_v in_o the_o word_n and_o syllable_n of_o the_o law_n and_o profess_v circumcision_n do_v violate_v that_o which_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o the_o law_n god_n which_o judge_v not_o after_o the_o outward_a appearance_n of_o the_o body_n but_o after_o the_o godliness_n of_o the_o spirit_n take_v no_o man_n for_o a_o jew_n except_o he_o perform_v in_o deed_n the_o profession_n of_o a_o jew_n and_o he_o name_v not_o i_o a_o jew_n 8._o that_o have_v the_o manifest_a note_n &_o mark_v of_o the_o jew_n neither_o be_v he_o circumcise_a that_o have_v his_o privy_a skin_n cut_v but_o he_o be_v a_o very_a jew_n that_o be_v right_o a_o jew_n 2._o and_o circumcise_v in_o his_o heart_n which_o god_n only_o behold_v and_o thereafter_o judge_v all_o man_n to_o conclude_v therefore_o he_o be_v circumcise_a which_o rather_o have_v his_o heart_n circumcise_v than_o he_o which_o have_v his_o privy_a member_n circumcise_v which_o also_o do_v not_o rejoice_v in_o the_o mark_n and_o note_n make_v with_o a_o stone_n as_o the_o circumcision_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v but_o rejoice_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o mind_n of_o the_o law_n for_o he_o that_o have_v only_o his_o flesh_n circumcise_a may_v go_v for_o a_o jew_n amongst_o man_n but_o he_o worthy_o god_n take_v for_o a_o jew_n who_o heart_n be_v purge_v and_o cleanse_v from_o the_o filth_n of_o vice_n and_o sin_n and_o be_v press_v and_o ready_a to_o the_o love_n of_o jesus_n christ_n of_o who_o only_o to_o be_v allow_v be_v the_o most_o high_a and_o chief_a felicity_n the_o three_o chapter_n ¶_o paul_n show_v what_o preferment_n the_o jew_n have_v and_o that_o both_o the_o jew_n and_o gentile_n be_v under_o sin_n and_o be_v only_o justify_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n but_o here_o will_v some_o man_n say_v see_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o law_n depend_v upon_o godliness_n and_o innocence_n of_o life_n and_o upon_o the_o only_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n what_o pre-eminence_n then_o have_v the_o jew_n more_o than_o the_o gentile_a or_o what_o prevail_v it_o the_o jew_n to_o be_v circumcise_v see_v that_o godliness_n and_o faith_n make_v the_o uncircumcised_a as_o good_a with_o god_n as_o the_o circumcise_a â—ea_o and_o that_o also_o more_o be_v see_v the_o circumcision_n of_o a_o jew_n that_o offend_v make_v his_o cause_n worse_o yes_o very_o the_o jew_n have_v great_a pre-eminence_n first_o he_o may_v rejoice_v in_o that_o he_o be_v by_o nature_n call_v a_o jew_n to_o who_o proper_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v commit_v timo._n or_o else_o because_o that_o only_a the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n be_v catch_v to_o that_o nation_n either_o for_o this_o cause_n that_o god_n vouchsafe_v to_o be_v their_o instructor_n and_o teacher_n himself_o sure_o it_o be_v a_o honourable_a thing_n to_o be_v of_o that_o nation_n which_o god_n so_o high_o esteem_v and_o further_o the_o jew_n have_v pre-eminence_n because_o the_o same_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o say_a instructor_n goodness_n may_v be_v the_o ready_a to_o the_o true_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n for_o as_o he_o be_v more_o near_o
last_o with_o open_a mouth_n that_o they_o be_v not_o save_v &_o bring_v to_o salvation_n by_o their_o own_o deserve_n but_o by_o the_o gratuity_n &_o only_a mercy_n of_o god_n through_o his_o son_n christ_n jest_n they_o in_o their_o pride_n shall_v blind_o boast_v themselves_o and_o glory_n in_o their_o own_o strength_n and_o virtue_n good_a and_o though_o god_n in_o this_o manner_n work_v these_o thing_n amongst_o man_n yet_o he_o himself_o be_v so_o far_o from_o the_o cause_v or_o consent_v of_o any_o man_n fall_n into_o sin_n or_o vice_n that_o he_o in_o most_o miraculous_a manner_n and_o far_o pass_v the_o capacity_n of_o man_n turn_v that_o thing_n which_o be_v naught_o in_o some_o unto_o other_o great_a weal_n &_o commodity_n but_o peradventure_o i_o speak_v further_o in_o this_o secret_a mystery_n of_o god_n than_o be_v seemly_a for_o one_o man_n to_o commune_v with_o another_o for_o weigh_v most_o reverent_o with_o myself_o the_o omnipotency_n of_o god_n &_o his_o secret_a council_n in_o this_o behalf_n such_o a_o stunnage_n &_o amazement_n possess_v my_o spirit_n that_o i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o declare_v and_o make_v it_o manifest_a unto_o man_n but_o only_o may_v marvel_v and_o cry_v out_o thereat_o say_v oh_o the_o deepness_n of_o god_n wisdom_n 17._o and_o of_o his_o abundante_fw-la knowledge_n who_o judgement_n no_o man_n reason_n can_v comprehend_v and_o who_o secret_a council_n and_o way_n no_o creature_n do_v yet_o ever_o understand_v for_o what_o man_n ever_o since_o the_o world_n begin_v know_v at_o any_o time_n the_o mind_n of_o the_o lord_n or_o what_o man_n be_v ever_o with_o he_o of_o his_o privy_a council_n 2._o either_o who_o have_v first_o give_v unto_o he_o any_o such_o benefit_n that_o his_o goodness_n towards_o we_o may_v be_v call_v a_o reward_n for_o our_o deserve_n and_o not_o only_o rather_o the_o mere_a grace_n and_o kindness_n of_o he_o god_n have_v so_o see_v unto_o the_o profit_n of_o mankind_n that_o though_o it_o surmount_v the_o knowledge_n and_o wisdom_n of_o man_n yet_o very_o it_o be_v after_o such_o a_o sort_n that_o it_o can_v in_o no_o wise_n be_v amend_v or_o make_v more_o profitable_a which_o will_v that_o all_o we_o in_o such_o manner_n shall_v acknowledge_v his_o bountifulness_n towards_o we_o merit_n that_o we_o shall_v all_o whole_o and_o only_o depend_v upon_o the_o goodness_n thereof_o without_o any_o vain_a trust_n or_o confidence_n of_o our_o own_o merit_n forasmuch_o as_o all_o our_o evil_n and_o infelicity_n that_o be_v in_o we_o we_o may_v just_o impute_v they_o unto_o our_o own_o self_n but_o all_o the_o goodness_n and_o the_o joy_n to_o come_v do_v only_o proceed_v from_o the_o mercy_n and_o love_n of_o god_n which_o do_v bestow_v they_o upon_o we_o as_o the_o only_a author_n and_o procurer_n of_o the_o same_o and_o who_o continuance_n also_o lie_v in_o his_o hand_n as_o the_o only_a tutor_n and_o most_o gracious_a preserver_n of_o they_o so_o that_o
