though_o none_o of_o they_o desire_v such_o a_o oath_n for_o their_o protection_n or_o seek_v after_o it_o yet_o be_v voluntary_o institute_v and_o take_v why_o may_v not_o they_o own_o the_o extent_n of_o it_o which_o reach_v to_o they_o more_o than_o to_o any_o beside_o as_o be_v clear_o describe_v and_o not_o for_o their_o own_o sake_n altogether_o do_v they_o own_o the_o benefit_n of_o it_o but_o that_o he_o which_o have_v take_v it_o may_v be_v clear_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o perform_v of_o his_o oath_n for_o his_o felicity_n and_o the_o increase_n and_o continuance_n of_o good_a government_n they_o desire_v as_o much_o as_o their_o own_o protection_n and_o they_o will_v not_o have_v any_o man_n so_o wicked_a or_o the_o cause_n of_o perpetual_a infamy_n to_o be_v give_v to_o this_o nation_n so_o much_o as_o that_o any_o thing_n shall_v be_v destroy_v or_o break_v down_o which_o be_v swear_v to_o be_v uphold_v and_o maintain_v in_o the_o nation_n lest_o the_o heathen_a ruler_n rise_v in_o condemnation_n against_o the_o doer_n thereof_o these_o with_o many_o other_o argument_n which_o may_v be_v produce_v press_v many_o to_o endeavour_v the_o fulfil_n of_o the_o say_a oath_n for_o his_o own_o sake_n who_o have_v take_v it_o and_o that_o first_o of_o all_o by_o that_o oath_n the_o people_n of_o god_n may_v own_o protection_n in_o this_o commonwealth_n scripture_n but_o contrary_a to_o it_o as_o be_v manifest_a and_o so_o not_o to_o be_v maintain_v and_o upholdâ—n_v in_o their_o profession_n and_o practice_n of_o religion_n by_o the_o protector_n oath_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o desire_v that_o such_o shall_v be_v destroy_v or_o overthrow_v or_o bind_v or_o imprison_v or_o any_o cruelty_n do_v to_o they_o though_o their_o practice_n be_v not_o according_a to_o scripture_n but_o it_o be_v desire_v that_o such_o may_v live_v in_o peace_n in_o the_o commonwealth_n enjoy_v their_o religion_n to_o themselves_o without_o any_o molestation_n from_o any_o ouâ—ward_a law_n or_o outward_a power_n for_o many_o will_v not_o that_o any_o shall_v be_v compel_v to_o or_o from_o any_o exercise_n in_o religion_n by_o a_o outward_a law_n but_o let_v they_o defend_v themselves_o in_o their_o religion_n from_o those_o who_o may_v be_v move_v of_o the_o lord_n to_o reprove_v they_o or_o declare_v against_o they_o or_o covince_n they_o so_o that_o many_o will_v have_v religion_n to_o defend_v itself_o and_o that_o the_o magistrate_n with_o their_o law_n may_v preserve_v the_o peace_n in_o the_o commonwealth_n and_o man_n person_n and_o estate_n and_o not_o their_o opinion_n and_o judgement_n and_o we_o will_v they_o may_v not_o limit_v or_o stint_v tender_a conscience_n for_o many_o may_v be_v of_o a_o tender_a conscience_n in_o those_o thing_n wherein_o their_o conscience_n be_v not_o true_o inform_v and_o such_o shall_v not_o be_v condemn_v to_o death_n but_o to_o bâ—_z win_v by_o sound_a doctrine_n and_o instruct_v by_o those_o
