die_v that_o thou_o may_v be_v in_o this_o kingdom_n of_o faith_n wherefore_o sin_n shall_v encounter_v with_o thou_o in_o vain_a death_n be_v take_v away_o christ_n be_v with_o thou_o who_o can_v hurt_v thou_o who_o can_v do_v any_o evil_n unto_o thou_o here_o life_n and_o death_n sin_n and_o innocence_n christ_n and_o satan_n do_v fight_v one_o with_o a_o other_o but_o christ_n life_n &_o innocence_n do_v overcome_v and_o conquer_v this_o be_v soon_o speak_v but_o not_o so_o easy_o feel_v yea_o the_o contrary_a sure_o be_v rather_o feel_v wherefore_o if_o thou_o will_v esteem_v and_o consider_v this_o kingdom_n according_a to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o world_n thou_o shall_v utter_o err_v and_o be_v deceive_v the_o world_n call_v that_o a_o good_a &_o peaceable_a kingdom_n where_o all_o thing_n be_v quiet_a prosperous_a and_o go_v well_o forward_o where_o be_v safety_n peace_n and_o innocence_n outward_o but_o here_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n and_o grace_n although_o it_o always_o appear_v otherwise_o wherefore_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v in_o spirit_n and_o faith_n &_o not_o to_o be_v judge_v according_a to_o the_o person_n or_o outward_a appearance_n neither_o ought_v it_o to_o seem_v strange_a that_o this_o kingdom_n do_v flourish_v in_o the_o mid_n of_o sin_n the_o force_n of_o satan_n &_o death_n whereof_o zacharias_n here_o sing_v even_o from_o the_o bottom_n of_o his_o hart_n and_o know_v well_o how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v faith_n and_o the_o spirit_n reveal_v it_o concern_v sin_n i_o have_v see_v or_o know_v thereof_o about_o with_o we_o so_o long_a sin_n be_v not_o extinguish_v nor_o can_v be_v whole_o subdue_v we_o may_v well_o go_v about_o and_o endeavour_n to_o subdue_v it_o notwithstanding_o old_a adam_n will_v lead_v his_o life_n also_o until_o he_o shall_v dye_v and_o come_v unto_o the_o grave_n what_o shall_v i_o need_v to_o say_v any_o more_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v a_o certain_a special_a kingdom_n wherein_o every_o one_o of_o the_o saint_n be_v compel_v to_o make_v this_o confession_n almighty_a god_n unto_o who_o power_n all_o thing_n acknowledge_v themselves_o subject_a sinner_n who_o hate_v the_o feel_n of_o sin_n strive_v against_o it_o from_o his_o hart_n he_o be_v not_o a_o christian_n which_o think_v that_o he_o have_v no_o sin_n neither_o feel_v any_o but_o if_o thou_o know_v any_o such_o he_o be_v a_o antichristian_a and_o not_o a_o true_a christian_a the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n therefore_o consist_v among_o sin_n it_o be_v establish_v there_o where_o he_o have_v set_v it_o that_o be_v in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n yea_o set_v david_n himself_o before_o your_o eye_n and_o you_o shall_v find_v he_o to_o have_v be_v a_o sinner_n who_o notwithstanding_o be_v bold_a to_o glory_n that_o he_o be_v a_o servant_n acceptable_a to_o his_o lord_n there_o be_v none_o of_o the_o faithful_a which_o ought_v to_o be_v ashamed_a of_o this_o which_o go_v of_o he_o where_o do_v there_o appear_v so_o much_o as_o any_o thing_n like_o unto_o those_o thing_n which_o man_n have_v tell_v i_o of_o he_o they_o be_v deceive_v themselves_o and_o deceive_v i_o also_o he_o show_v himself_o a_o enemy_n rather_o than_o a_o friend_n why_o do_v he_o not_o so_o much_o as_o speak_v a_o word_n and_o friendly_o deny_v i_o help_v if_o i_o be_v unworthy_a thereof_o he_o hold_v his_o peace_n like_a unto_o a_o block_n &_o vouchsafe_v not_o to_o speak_v a_o word_n neither_o offer_v his_o help_n here_o sure_o christ_n give_v a_o grievous_a blow_n to_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o silly_a woman_n so_o it_o be_v a_o incomparable_a torment_n to_o they_o that_o believe_v be_v in_o distress_n when_o god_n show_v himself_o such_o a_o one_o at_o their_o prayer_n like_v unto_o one_o that_o be_v angry_a and_o who_o they_o pray_v unto_o in_o vain_a hide_v so_o deep_o his_o grace_n that_o they_o now_o perceive_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o he_o will_v not_o perform_v those_o thing_n which_o he_o have_v promise_v and_o that_o so_o he_o will_v show_v his_o own_o word_n to_o be_v false_a that_o true_o happen_v to_o the_o israelite_n at_o the_o red_a sea_n and_o to_o many_o other_o excellent_a holy_a man_n canaan_n the_o constancy_n of_o this_o woman_n of_o canaan_n but_o what_o do_v this_o woman_n to_o these_o thing_n she_o remove_v out_o of_o her_o sight_n &_o mind_n that_o christ_n show_v himself_o so_o ungentle_a and_o hard_a to_o be_v entreat_v she_o be_v constant_a and_o nothing_o move_v hereat_o persever_v in_o the_o trust_n of_o his_o goodness_n whereof_o she_o have_v hear_v and_o which_o she_o have_v conceive_v in_o her_o mind_n suffer_v herself_o in_o no_o wise_a to_o be_v turn_v from_o it_o promise_n we_o must_v not_o cease_v to_o trust_v in_o god_n though_o he_o seem_v at_o the_o first_o not_o to_o hear_v our_o prayer_n nor_o to_o fulfil_v his_o promise_n so_o also_o must_v we_o do_v we_o must_v trust_v unto_o the_o word_n alone_o although_o god_n himself_o and_o all_o creature_n pretend_v otherwise_o then_o the_o word_n preach_v but_o this_o be_v thrice_o most_o hard_o to_o nature_n &_o reason_n to_o be_v so_o utter_o destitute_a and_o to_o depend_v on_o the_o word_n of_o god_n without_o any_o feel_n of_o comfort_n even_o when_o a_o man_n feel_v and_o tri_v all_o thing_n to_o be_v contrary_a god_n give_v unto_o we_o such_o a_o mind_n and_o faith_n that_o we_o may_v so_o do_v especial_o at_o the_o point_n of_o death_n and_o in_o extreme_a necessity_n second_o whereas_o the_o cry_n and_o faith_n of_o this_o woman_n seem_v to_o have_v suffer_v repulse_n the_o disciple_n come_v with_o their_o faith_n dout_v not_o but_o that_o they_o shall_v entreat_v the_o lord_n but_o when_o they_o think_v that_o they_o shall_v make_v he_o more_o easy_a to_o be_v entreat_v they_o find_v he_o to_o be_v much_o more_o hard_a repel_v as_o it_o appear_v and_o as_o they_o think_v the_o faith_n and_o prayer_n both_o of_o the_o woman_n &_o also_o of_o themselves_o neither_o do_v christ_n here_o hold_v his_o peace_n and_o leave_v they_o in_o doubt_n as_o before_o but_o he_o seem_v plain_o to_o deny_v that_o which_o they_o ask_v say_v i_o be_o not_o send_v but_o to_o the_o lose_a sheep_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n this_o stroke_n be_v much_o more_o grievous_a than_o that_o former_a where_o not_o only_o the_o person_n of_o the_o entreater_n be_v repel_v but_o all_o hope_n also_o which_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v leave_v be_v cut_v of_o namely_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o intercession_n of_o all_o the_o other_o saint_n and_o elect_v for_o it_o be_v almost_o the_o last_o refuge_n to_o they_o that_o suffer_v distress_n and_o feel_v the_o indignation_n of_o god_n to_o get_v themselves_o to_o godly_a &_o holy_a man_n seek_v for_o comfort_n and_o help_v whereunto_o as_o charity_n require_v they_o find_v they_o ready_a and_o willing_a but_o even_o they_o also_o some_o time_n do_v in_o vain_a ask_v help_n and_o succour_n for_o neither_o be_v they_o hear_v and_o so_o the_o case_n of_o they_o that_o be_v in_o distress_n become_v worse_a and_o more_o lamentable_a so_o the_o afflict_a and_o desolate_a may_v true_o object_v unto_o christ_n all_o those_o word_n wherein_o he_o have_v promise_v that_o he_o will_v hear_v his_o saint_n as_o 18.19_o matth._n 18.19_o if_o two_o of_o you_o shall_v agree_v in_o earth_n upon_o any_o thing_n whatsoever_o they_o shall_v desire_v it_o shall_v be_v give_v they_o of_o my_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n again_o whatsoever_o you_o shall_v it_o be_v a_o flash_n of_o lightning_n wherewith_o the_o hart_n and_o all_o trust_n be_v sever_v and_o break_v in_o a_o thousand_o piece_n for_o what_o trust_n can_v there_o be_v leave_v when_o he_o hear_v that_o that_o do_v not_o pertain_v unto_o he_o which_o because_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n he_o trust_v to_o have_v obtain_v but_o unto_o other_o here_o not_o so_o much_o as_o a_o word_n can_v be_v leave_v if_o one_o do_v according_a as_o he_o feel_v but_o what_o do_v this_o woman_n she_o do_v not_o so_o fall_v from_o hope_n canaan_n the_o great_a constancy_n &_o faith_n of_o this_o woman_n of_o canaan_n she_o still_o stick_v to_o the_o word_n which_o she_o have_v hear_v of_o christ_n albeit_o he_o go_v about_o by_o this_o other_o repulse_n as_o with_o a_o certain_a force_n to_o wrest_v they_o out_o of_o her_o hart_n she_o suffer_v not_o herself_o to_o be_v fraied_a away_o neither_o with_o that_o ungentle_a silence_n neither_o with_o this_o hard_a answer_n she_o continue_v steadfast_o in_o a_o sure_a confidence_n believe_v that_o under_o this_o difficulty_n which_o christ_n do_v pretend_v that_o grace_n be_v as_o yet_o hide_v and_o lay_v up_o for_o she_o which_o she_o have_v hear_v report_v of_o he_o she_o can_v not_o be_v bring_v as_o yet_o to_o judge_v christ_n not_o to_o be_v bountiful_a and_o gracious_a and_o that_o he_o can_v deny_v the_o help_n which_o she_o desire_v this_o be_v to_o persevere_v strong_o in_o faith_n moreover_o she_o follow_v jesus_n even_o into_o the_o house_n as_o mark_n write_v she_o be_v instant_a upon_o he_o fall_v down_o before_o he_o and_o say_v lord_n help_v i_o here_o the_o lord_n give_v a_o deadly_a &_o the_o last_o blow_n say_v unto_o her_o face_n that_o she_o be_v a_o dog_n and_o unworthy_a to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o bread_n of_o the_o child_n what_o may_v she_o answer_v hereunto_o for_o he_o seem_v to_o signify_v in_o these_o word_n that_o she_o be_v of_o the_o number_n of_o the_o damn_a and_o desperate_a which_o can_v look_v for_o no_o part_n with_o the_o elect_a this_o word_n seem_v eternal_a and_o that_o can_v not_o be_v gainesayd_a for_o he_o which_o do_v not_o pertain_v to_o the_o company_n of_o the_o elect_a by_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n what_o may_v he_o hope_v to_o be_v leave_v for_o he_o this_o woman_n be_v not_o yet_o discourage_v and_o pass_v hope_n but_o yield_v to_o this_o judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n she_o confess_v of_o she_o own_o accord_n that_o she_o be_v a_o dog_n neither_o desire_v she_o any_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v give_v to_o dog_n namely_o the_o crumb_n which_o fall_v from_o their_o master_n table_n seem_v she_o not_o to_o have_v use_v marvellous_a cunning_n she_o take_v christ_n in_o his_o own_o word_n he_o have_v make_v her_o like_a unto_o a_o dog_n she_o acknowledge_v it_o and_o desire_v that_o he_o will_v only_o suffer_v she_o to_o be_v a_o dog_n according_a to_o his_o own_o say_n what_o shall_v he_o here_o do_v how_o shall_v he_o escape_v he_o be_v now_o as_o it_o be_v even_o take_v for_o the_o crumb_n under_o the_o table_n be_v grant_v to_o the_o dog_n for_o unto_o dog_n they_o be_v say_v to_o be_v due_a christ_n the_o fruit_n of_o constant_a perseverance_n &_o trust_n in_o christ_n here_o therefore_o christ_n be_v as_o it_o be_v overcome_v do_v open_v himself_o whole_o and_o grant_v the_o desire_n of_o the_o woman_n and_o make_v that_o she_o be_v not_o now_o a_o dog_n but_o a_o true_a israelite_n
these_o thing_n be_v write_v for_o the_o instruction_n and_o comfort_n of_o all_o we_o whereby_o we_o ought_v to_o learn_v how_o deep_o sometime_o christ_n hide_v his_o grace_n from_o we_o and_o how_o we_o must_v not_o judge_v of_o god_n according_a to_o our_o own_o sense_n and_o opinion_n but_o only_o according_a to_o his_o word_n for_o we_o see_v here_o that_o albeit_o christ_n show_v himself_o very_o hard_o to_o this_o woman_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o plain_o deny_v to_o help_v she_o but_o whatsoever_o he_o answer_v howsoever_o it_o seem_v to_o pretend_v a_o denial_n yet_o be_v it_o not_o a_o denial_n but_o do_v hang_v in_o doubt_n and_o leave_v a_o entrance_n for_o faith_n although_o but_o small_a for_o he_o say_v not_o at_o her_o first_o petition_n i_o will_v not_o hear_v she_o but_o he_o hold_v his_o peace_n neither_o promise_v nor_o deny_v help_n so_o to_o the_o second_o petition_n which_o the_o apostle_n make_v he_o say_v not_o she_o be_v not_o of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n i_o can_v not_o therefore_o perform_v that_o which_o she_o desire_v but_o he_o only_o say_v i_o be_o not_o send_v but_o to_o the_o lose_a sheep_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n leave_v all_o thing_n in_o doubt_n and_o in_o the_o midst_n between_o a_o plain_a grant_n and_o a_o denial_n so_o when_o she_o have_v the_o three_o time_n desire_v he_o he_o say_v not_o thou_o be_v a_o dog_n get_v thou_o hence_o the_o bread_n of_o the_o child_n be_v not_o due_a unto_o thou_o but_o he_o say_v it_o be_v not_o good_a to_o take_v the_o child_n bread_n etc._n etc._n again_o leave_v in_o doubt_n whether_o she_o be_v a_o dog_n or_o no._n nevertheless_o all_o these_o say_n do_v pretend_v outward_o rather_o a_o denial_n of_o help_n then_o provoke_v she_o to_o hope_n but_o in_o very_a deed_n they_o do_v contain_v in_o they_o rather_o a_o promise_n and_o hope_n than_o a_o denial_n yea_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o a_o promise_n and_o a_o certain_a expectation_n of_o help_n howbeit_o most_o deep_o hide_v and_o altogether_o secret_a under_o that_o silence_n and_o answer_n although_o they_o be_v hard_a and_o a_o denial_n only_o sound_v outward_o by_o these_o it_o be_v show_v how_o our_o hart_n be_v wont_a to_o be_v affect_v in_o tentation_n for_o according_a as_o that_o feel_v in_o tentation_n so_o christ_n here_o behave_v himself_o it_o feel_v all_o thing_n to_o be_v deny_v when_o as_o it_o be_v far_o otherwise_o wherefore_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o leave_v it_o own_o feel_n by_o a_o sure_a faith_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n it_o conceive_v and_o hold_v fast_o the_o promise_n of_o help_n deep_o hide_v under_o the_o denial_n and_o yield_v unto_o the_o sentence_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o as_o this_o woman_n do_v so_o shall_v we_o overcome_v and_o take_v the_o lord_n in_o his_o word_n that_o he_o can_v not_o but_o help_v us._n so_o that_o if_o we_o feel_v in_o our_o conscience_n at_o any_o time_n god_n rebuke_v we_o pronounce_v we_o sinner_n and_o unworthy_a of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n than_o we_o feel_v as_o it_o be_v hell_n and_o it_o seem_v unto_o we_o that_o we_o be_v pass_v all_o hope_n and_o recovery_n for_o ever_o sin_n when_o god_n pronounce_v we_o sinner_n we_o ought_v to_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v our_o sin_n &_o pray_v former_a eye_n which_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o they_o that_o be_v penitent_a for_o their_o sin_n then_o if_o any_o have_v the_o skill_n of_o this_o woman_n that_o he_o can_v take_v the_o lord_n in_o his_o own_o judgement_n and_o say_v yea_o lord_n i_o be_o a_o sinner_n and_o altogether_o unworthy_a of_o thy_o grace_n but_o thou_o have_v promise_v forgiveness_n to_o sinner_n neither_o do_v thou_o come_v to_o call_v the_o righteous_a but_o as_o paul_n say_v to_o save_v sinner_n he_o true_o shall_v bring_v to_o pass_v that_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v enforce_v even_o by_o his_o own_o judgement_n to_o have_v mercy_n upon_o he_o so_o do_v manasses_n when_o be_v penitent_a he_o pray_v for_o pardon_n as_o we_o read_v in_o his_o prayer_n he_o yield_v to_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n acknowledge_v himself_o a_o most_o grievous_a sinner_n and_o so_o he_o bind_v god_n with_o his_o promise_n which_o have_v promise_v forgiveness_n of_o sin_n to_o sinner_n not_o to_o the_o righteous_a the_o same_o also_o do_v david_n observe_v psal_n 51._o against_o thou_o only_o say_v he_o have_v i_o sin_v and_o do_v this_o evil_n in_o thy_o sight_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o thy_o say_n and_o find_v pure_a when_o thou_o be_v judge_v for_o that_o do_v purchase_v unto_o we_o all_o displeasure_n that_o we_o disdain_v to_o suffer_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o do_v against_o our_o will_n yield_v unto_o his_o sentence_n when_o he_o pronounce_v we_o sinner_n such_o a_o great_a thing_n be_v it_o to_o acknowledge_v sin_n and_o to_o embrace_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n we_o all_o confess_v ourselves_o sinner_n in_o word_n but_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o lord_n speak_v that_o in_o our_o hart_n and_o pronounce_v we_o sinner_n we_o do_v not_o abide_v by_o that_o which_o before_o we_o confess_v we_o have_v lever_n be_v count_v righteous_a and_o free_a from_o that_o judgement_n but_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v if_o god_n must_v be_v just_a in_o his_o word_n that_o thou_o be_v a_o sinner_n than_o also_o may_v thou_o use_v the_o right_n of_o sinner_n which_o god_n himself_o have_v daughter_n be_v sick_a for_o who_o through_o faith_n she_o obtain_v health_n by_o a_o miracle_n so_o also_o fall_v it_o out_o with_o we_o when_o we_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o spiritual_a sickness_n supper_n here_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o very_a rich_a &_o sumptuous_a feast_n which_o god_n have_v make_v through_o christ_n by_o the_o gospel_n which_o set_v before_o we_o great_a good_a thing_n and_o rich_a treasure_n and_o he_o send_v his_o servant_n to_o bid_v man_n to_o this_o sumptuous_a supper_n that_o be_v the_o apostle_n be_v altogether_o send_v with_o one_o word_n into_o so_o exercise_v and_o show_v his_o love_n that_o no_o man_n can_v worthy_o complain_v any_o whit_n of_o he_o whereby_o he_o shall_v trouble_v or_o dismay_v his_o conscience_n but_o that_o all_o that_o will_v confess_v the_o truth_n may_v be_v enforce_v to_o say_v that_o he_o have_v so_o live_v that_o he_o have_v be_v a_o example_n to_o every_o man_n of_o live_v well_o which_o will_v only_o but_o love_n for_o we_o will_v not_o presume_v of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n as_o though_o that_o be_v have_v every_o man_n may_v do_v what_o he_o listen_v whether_o it_o be_v profitable_a or_o very_o willing_o have_v do_v all_o thing_n that_o i_o ought_v wherefore_o i_o be_o quiet_a &_o already_o excuse_v neither_o have_v they_o any_o more_o which_o they_o may_v right_o require_v of_o i_o but_o be_v enforce_v to_o acquit_v and_o discharge_v i_o but_o here_o i_o must_v attain_v unto_o this_o also_o that_o my_o hart_n be_v so_o pure_a and_o my_o conscience_n so_o good_a before_o god_n that_o he_o may_v not_o by_o any_o mean_n accuse_v and_o condemn_v i_o howbeit_o we_o find_v not_o this_o in_o ourselves_o god_n we_o can_v not_o of_o ourselves_o attain_v to_o a_o pure_a hart_n &_o be_v able_a but_o i_o have_v offend_v much_o often_o than_o i_o know_v wherefore_o our_o own_o conscience_n do_v witness_n against_o we_o accuse_v and_o convince_a we_o although_o before_o the_o wrap_v in_o dout_v but_o if_o it_o doubt_v then_o be_v it_o by_o and_o by_o convince_a for_o it_o stand_v not_o before_o god_n but_o fly_v and_o tremble_v god_n by_o what_o mean_v we_o attain_v to_o such_o pureness_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n as_o can_v stand_v before_o god_n wherefore_o the_o principal_a part_n of_o our_o doctrine_n must_v here_o help_v we_o to_o wit_n that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v send_v of_o the_o father_n do_v come_v into_o the_o world_n and_o have_v suffer_v and_o die_v for_o us._n whereby_o he_o have_v reconcile_v the_o good_a will_n and_o favour_n faith_n which_o have_v perfect_a pureness_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n which_o he_o gage_v for_o i_o or_o rather_o which_o he_o give_v unto_o i_o for_o he_o alone_o be_v he_o of_o who_o we_o read_v the_o conscience_n strive_v and_o tremble_v dare_v come_v forth_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o say_v almighty_a god_n i_o be_o innocent_a before_o the_o world_n and_o quiet_a in_o mind_n so_o that_o no_o man_n can_v lay_v any_o thing_n to_o my_o charge_n or_o find_v fault_n with_o i_o for_o albeit_o i_o have_v not_o do_v all_o thing_n yet_o i_o ask_v pardon_n of_o every_o one_o that_o he_o will_v forgive_v i_o for_o god_n his_o sake_n even_o as_o i_o again_o forgive_v all_o by_o this_o mean_n i_o have_v cut_v of_o the_o complaint_n of_o all_o who_o have_v no_o more_o which_o they_o may_v right_o lay_v against_o i_o but_o before_o thou_o i_o must_v lay_v aside_o this_o trust_n and_o confidence_n and_o must_v whole_o acknowledge_v the_o guiltiness_n of_o innumerable_a sin_n and_o be_v yet_o secure_a and_o untractable_a &_o acknowledge_v not_o their_o sin_n neither_o will_v confess_v and_o acknowledge_v they_o the_o other_o a_o mercy_n seat_n seat_n the_o mercy_n seat_n for_o christ_n and_o his_o work_n be_v not_o my_o life_n and_o my_o work_n but_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o law_n and_o from_o the_o work_n of_o all_o man_n yea_o and_o that_o by_o a_o great_a distance_n than_o man_n be_v unlike_a or_o differ_v from_o man_n for_o neither_o can_v i_o say_v that_o i_o and_o cesar_n or_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n be_v the_o same_o thing_n yet_o i_o be_o much_o near_o and_o like_a unto_o either_o of_o they_o than_o a_o mortal_a man_n and_o a_o sinner_n be_v unto_o christ_n the_o lord_n who_o be_v not_o only_o a_o pure_a and_o holy_a man_n free_a from_o all_o spot_n and_o blot_n but_o be_v moreover_o god_n also_o therefore_o let_v the_o law_n and_o the_o pureness_n of_o thy_o heart_n yea_o and_o thy_o good_a conscience_n avail_v in_o earth_n only_o towards_o man_n but_o where_o the_o mercy_n seat_n be_v to_o wit_n at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o mediator_n between_o thou_o &_o god_n thither_o no_o man_n work_n &_o merit_n ought_v into_o one_o part_n but_o my_o faith_n must_v fly_v and_o leap_v far_o unto_o a_o other_o part_n and_o join_v itself_o unto_o he_o which_o be_v pure_a and_o have_v no_o sin_n of_o who_o the_o in_o this_o doutfulnes_n of_o mind_n the_o foundation_n fail_v slide_v away_o under_o thou_o like_o unto_o sand_n move_v or_o stir_v and_o so_o faith_n be_v of_o no_o force_n or_o value_n at_o all_o wherefore_o it_o be_v not_o unfit_o call_v feign_v and_o paint_a faith_n through_o which_o one_o see_v as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n through_o which_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v represent_v the_o colour_n of_o the_o glass_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o in_o deed_n of_o that_o colour_n so_o they_o also_o believe_v that_o that_o affection_n be_v in_o god_n that_o he_o vouchsave_v to_o regard_v our_o work_n and_o merit_n which_o they_o paint_v forth_o according_a to_o their_o own_o opinion_n and_o dream_n which_o be_v utter_o false_a rash_a and_o unaduised_a and_o so_o judge_v god_n &_o all_o thing_n according_a to_o they_o they_o see_v only_o as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n but_o so_o only_o thou_o shall_v behold_v he_o with_o pure_a and_o clear_a eye_n if_o thou_o do_v well_o separate_v the_o judgement_n seat_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_n one_o from_o the_o other_o that_o heaven_n with_o the_o star_n thereof_o may_v remain_v pure_a to_o grace_n &_o remission_n of_o sin_n obtain_v by_o the_o mediator_n where_o christ_n reign_v with_o his_o work_n and_o the_o earth_n also_o with_o her_o tree_n and_o herb_n wherefore_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o bring_v no_o commodity_n at_o all_o neither_o be_v there_o any_o need_n of_o they_o and_o they_o be_v cause_n of_o great_a hindrance_n to_o a_o christian_a common_a weal_n then_o can_v be_v think_v and_o can_v not_o by_o any_o mean_n be_v reform_v what_o can_v be_v more_o profitable_a then_o that_o they_o be_v utter_o overthrow_v and_o abolish_v moreover_o that_o judgement_n or_o right_n but_o that_o he_o show_v himself_o pliant_a unto_o other_o and_o have_v regard_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o he_o shall_v know_v will_v be_v acceptable_a and_o profitable_a to_o his_o neighbour_n when_o therefore_o it_o do_v nothing_o hinder_v thy_o faith_n and_o profit_v thy_o neighbour_n to_o yield_v somewhat_o of_o thy_o own_o right_n if_o thou_o do_v it_o not_o thou_o be_v without_o charity_n &_o neglecte_v that_o christian_a softness_n &_o patient_a mind_n that_o paul_n here_o speak_v of_o yea_o if_o thou_o have_v regard_v hereof_o as_o he_o that_o true_o one_o shall_v use_v the_o good_n of_o a_o other_o that_o other_z will_v not_o be_v offend_v but_o will_v take_v it_o in_o good_a part_n and_o will_v not_o grudge_v rather_o to_o give_v more_o and_o can_v take_v he_o from_o thou_o if_o thou_o thyself_o do_v not_o cast_v he_o of_o there_o be_v no_o cause_n therefore_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v careful_a see_v that_o he_o be_v our_o father_n and_o thanks_n in_o these_o word_n the_o apostle_n teach_v how_o our_o care_n be_v to_o be_v cast_v upon_o god_n and_o the_o meaning_n of_o that_o which_o he_o say_v be_v this_o god_n how_o the_o godly_a must_v cast_v their_o care_n upon_o god_n only_o be_v not_o careful_a but_o if_o any_o thing_n chance_n which_o may_v make_v you_o careful_a as_o in_o deed_n innumerable_a such_o be_v wont_a to_o of_o the_o scripture_n shall_v be_v simple_o declare_v and_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n the_o state_n of_o ecclesiastical_a person_n not_o reprove_v but_o as_o soon_o as_o thou_o shall_v begin_v to_o condemn_v by_o the_o scripture_n all_o those_o thing_n which_o have_v be_v hitherto_o bring_v in_o under_o a_o false_a name_n of_o religion_n and_o to_o teach_v that_o they_o be_v to_o be_v reject_v as_o be_v of_o no_o importance_n thou_o preach_v seditious_o and_o trouble_v the_o world_n with_o unchristian_a doctrine_n but_o how_o do_v the_o present_a text_n pertain_v unto_o we_o a_o great_a and_o they_o that_o praise_v they_o enjoy_v the_o honour_n and_o pleasure_n thereof_o their_o case_n in_o all_o thing_n agree_v with_o the_o case_n of_o the_o false_a prophet_n and_o yet_o they_o dare_v boast_v themselves_o to_o be_v preacher_n and_o teacher_n of_o christ_n and_o worshipper_n of_o god_n persecution_n of_o who_o the_o preacher_n of_o god_n word_n must_v look_v for_o &_o desire_v help_n in_o the_o time_n of_o trouble_n and_o persecution_n the_o next_o thing_n whereby_o this_o deed_n do_v comfort_n and_o encourage_v the_o preacher_n of_o christ_n be_v that_o it_o show_v where_o help_n be_v to_o be_v ask_v when_o a_o tempest_n be_v rise_v to_o wit_n not_o of_o the_o world_n for_o not_o man_n wisdom_n or_o power_n but_o christ_n himself_o and_o he_o alone_o be_v able_a to_o help_v they_o he_o they_o must_v call_v upon_o in_o every_o distress_n with_o full_a confidence_n in_o he_o they_o must_v trust_v as_o his_o disciple_n here_o do_v for_o unless_o they_o tranquillity_n of_o mind_n be_v now_o disturb_v but_o suffer_v we_o to_o wrestle_v and_o labour_n with_o our_o infirmity_n for_o a_o while_n that_o we_o may_v acknowledge_v how_o we_o be_v altogether_o nothing_o and_o that_o all_o thing_n do_v depend_v on_o his_o grace_n and_o power_n as_o paul_n confess_v of_o himself_o 2._o cor._n 1._o that_o it_o behove_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v so_o press_v and_o trouble_v out_o of_o measure_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o trust_v in_o ourselves_o but_o in_o god_n which_o raise_v the_o dead_a such_o sleep_n of_o god_n david_n oftentimes_o feel_v
