that_o can_v be_v appoint_v and_o that_o although_o some_o one_o man_n can_v do_v it_o by_o his_o rare_a and_o singular_a wisdom_n which_o notwithstanding_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o never_o be_v yet_o yet_o that_o it_o be_v in_o no_o wise_a convenient_a for_o so_o many_o and_o all_o the_o whole_a to_o hang_v upon_o one_o and_o such_o a_o one_o too_o as_o may_v sometime_o be_v so_o weak_a a_o man_n to_o bear_v such_o a_o burden_n as_o that_o many_o other_o under_o his_o government_n may_v be_v find_v much_o strong_a than_o he_o then_o if_o we_o come_v unto_o experience_n and_o lay_v before_o we_o in_o what_o sort_n he_o govern_v we_o before_o when_o as_o he_o have_v we_o under_o his_o government_n or_o in_o what_o sort_n he_o govern_v yet_o those_o that_o abide_v under_o his_o obedience_n whether_o any_o thing_n may_v be_v say_v more_o hardly_o or_o not_o as_o yet_o i_o say_v not_o but_o sure_o thus_o much_o we_o may_v be_v bold_a to_o abide_v by_o that_o in_o comparison_n of_o the_o government_n under_o which_o we_o be_v now_o it_o be_v not_o very_o singular_a benefit_n to_o be_v holpen_v back_o to_o that_o other_o again_o so_o for_o aught_o that_o yet_o appear_v we_o can_v see_v that_o any_o great_a benefit_n can_v come_v unto_o we_o if_o we_o shall_v turn_v to_o their_o profession_n thereby_o 2_o what_o inconvenience_n may_v come_v thereby_o be_v a_o thing_n very_o hard_o to_o be_v full_o gather_v be_v so_o great_a and_o so_o divers_a withal_o as_o in_o our_o judgement_n it_o seem_v to_o be_v where_o first_o of_o all_o we_o can_v like_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o much_o deprive_v of_o the_o scripture_n themselves_o as_o under_o they_o we_o be_v partly_o by_o the_o law_n that_o they_o make_v against_o such_o as_o shall_v read_v they_o otherwise_o than_o themselves_o think_v good_a and_o partly_o for_o that_o they_o do_v so_o much_o inhibit_v all_o translation_n in_o our_o vulgar_a tongue_n which_o one_o thing_n only_o we_o take_v to_o bode_n very_o much_o ill_a and_o whatsoever_o after_o ensue_v to_o come_v almost_o only_o of_o it_o for_o the_o inconvenience_n that_o we_o be_v persuade_v will_v come_v in_o thereby_o will_v be_v as_o we_o take_v it_o many_o and_o great_a some_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n other_o as_o touch_v our_o civil_a estate_n here_o in_o this_o life_n religion_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n first_o we_o doubt_n that_o ourselves_o shall_v be_v much_o thereby_o corrupt_v and_o be_v occasion_n to_o many_o other_o to_o fall_v to_o the_o same_o corruption_n likewise_o then_o also_o that_o on_o the_o conscience_n of_o many_o there_o shall_v be_v lay_v over_o grievous_a burden_n ourselves_o may_v be_v corrupt_v by_o their_o profession_n two_o principal_a way_n in_o the_o estimation_n of_o god_n goodness_n to_o we_o and_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o our_o duty_n to_o he_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o be_v infinite_a but_o now_o we_o have_v to_o enter_v no_o further_o into_o the_o consideration_n thereof_o than_o to_o this_o present_a purpose_n do_v appertain_v and_o that_o be_v only_o in_o these_o two_o thing_n first_o in_o the_o work_n of_o our_o redemption_n then_o in_o his_o providence_n towards_o we_o in_o other_o matter_n they_o in_o the_o work_n of_o our_o redemption_n christ_n have_v both_o satisfy_v for_o we_o to_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n and_o therewithal_o himself_o direct_v we_o towards_o the_o attain_n thereof_o in_o both_o these_o point_n we_o doubt_n very_o much_o that_o by_o join_v with_o they_o in_o their_o profession_n we_o shall_v be_v find_v blasphemous_a to_o god_n and_o very_o hurtful_a to_o our_o own_o soul_n health_n first_o in_o join_v and_o that_o no_o further_o than_o their selve_o do_v either_o the_o suffering_n or_o else_o the_o good_a work_n of_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n or_o on_o earth_n with_o the_o suffering_n and_o merit_n of_o christ_n then_o by_o help_v ourselves_o unto_o it_o by_o the_o mediation_n of_o angel_n or_o saint_n or_o by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o man_n on_o earth_n only_o so_o far_o as_o themselves_o do_v it_o and_o not_o seek_v the_o same_o alone_a by_o the_o mediation_n of_o christ_n and_o by_o the_o write_a word_n of_o god_n for_o we_o take_v the_o satisfaction_n of_o christ_n his_o mediation_n and_o word_n to_o be_v such_o as_o that_o no_o other_o satisfaction_n mediation_n or_o word_n can_v be_v find_v any_o thing_n meet_v to_o be_v so_o far_o match_v withal_o again_o we_o find_v not_o that_o the_o work_n of_o redemption_n that_o be_v wrought_v in_o christ_n be_v available_a to_o the_o salvation_n of_o any_o but_o only_o of_o those_o that_o so_o cleave_v unto_o it_o that_o they_o utter_o renounce_v all_o other_o help_v whatsoever_o they_o be_v in_o the_o former_a therefore_o we_o see_v not_o how_o it_o may_v be_v avoid_v but_o that_o needs_o we_o must_v be_v find_v to_o have_v do_v great_a dishonour_n to_o christ_n in_o the_o other_o we_o be_v persuade_v that_o we_o shall_v clean_o overthrow_v our_o own_o salvation_n concern_v the_o providence_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o in_o other_o matter_n providence_n their_o profession_n we_o fear_v will_v lead_v we_o somewhat_o aside_o and_o teach_v we_o to_o attribute_v many_o of_o those_o thing_n that_o fall_v out_o among_o we_o to_o some_o other_o than_o god_n alone_o sometime_o unto_o creature_n as_o the_o angel_n and_o saint_n in_o heaven_n or_o to_o the_o power_n of_o man_n on_o earth_n and_o sometime_o to_o a_o fiction_n of_o man_n devise_n as_o fate_n or_o fortune_n and_o although_o we_o willing_o grant_v that_o in_o divers_a of_o these_o they_o use_v such_o limitation_n withal_o that_o it_o seem_v they_o will_v be_v loath_a for_o to_o go_v overfar_a therein_o yet_o go_v but_o so_o far_o as_o they_o do_v in_o their_o common_a profession_n we_o see_v not_o how_o we_o can_v avoid_v it_o but_o that_o if_o we_o shall_v join_v with_o they_o therein_o we_o shall_v be_v far_o amiss_o persuade_v in_o
they_o do_v in_o allthing_n agree_v with_o they_o freedom_n of_o will_n work_n and_o merit_n of_o work_n be_v indeed_o jolly_a matter_n to_o puff_n we_o up_o high_a in_o our_o own_o estimation_n but_o we_o can_v be_v proud_a enough_o without_o they_o sufficient_a for_o we_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v that_o we_o may_v be_v save_v let_v we_o leave_v the_o glory_n thereof_o whole_o to_o god_n and_o take_v no_o part_n thereof_o to_o ourselves_o since_o the_o fall_n there_o be_v not_o in_o man_n any_o inclination_n at_o all_o unto_o good_a that_o be_v of_o that_o kind_n save_v only_o in_o those_o that_o be_v regenerate_v and_o that_o which_o be_v in_o they_o be_v not_o ever_o continual_a but_o sometime_o very_o rare_a and_o weak_a likewise_o and_o ever_o be_v the_o special_a work_n of_o god_n in_o we_o and_o though_o our_o work_n that_o be_v do_v in_o faith_n and_o love_n have_v reward_n promise_v unto_o they_o and_o so_o consequent_o by_o promise_n du_fw-fr yet_o be_v the_o best_a of_o they_o on_o our_o part_n or_o so_o much_o thereof_o as_o be_v we_o so_o unperfect_a and_o weak_a that_o by_o right_n they_o can_v otherwise_o than_o by_o merciful_a acceptance_n deserve_v nothing_o at_o al._n and_o when_o we_o be_v sure_o we_o have_v most_o absolute_a redemption_n full_o and_o whole_o in_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n what_o need_v we_o trouble_v ourselves_o further_o to_o search_v out_o whether_o that_o we_o may_v not_o think_v that_o our_o good_a work_n have_v in_o some_o sense_n merit_v also_o tradition_n tradition_n so_o far_o as_o they_o do_v not_o swarve_v from_o the_o write_a word_n or_o be_v to_o aedifieng_v we_o do_v not_o mislike_v otherwise_o we_o think_v we_o have_v already_o so_o much_o to_o do_v that_o be_v express_o command_v unto_o we_o that_o we_o think_v they_o hinder_v we_o much_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n sacrifice_n that_o encumber_v we_o with_o more_o the_o preesthood_n and_o sacrifice_n of_o jesus_n christ_n we_o account_v to_o be_v of_o that_o sufficiency_n in_o themselves_o and_o so_o proper_a to_o he_o alone_o that_o we_o can_v yet_o be_v persuade_v either_o that_o we_o need_v or_o that_o we_o may_v set_v up_o any_o other_o but_o that_o we_o must_v needs_o bewray_v either_o our_o great_a ignorance_n in_o the_o one_o or_o that_o we_o have_v a_o very_a slender_a and_o overbase_a a_o account_n of_o the_o other_o otherwise_o if_o these_o will_v not_o serve_v needs_o must_v we_o be_v more_o out_o of_o hope_n to_o get_v any_o good_a by_o those_o that_o be_v bring_v in_o by_o they_o howbeit_o his_o preesthood_n continue_v forever_o and_o his_o sacrifice_n once_o make_v be_v a_o full_a satisfaction_n for_o all_o so_o that_o we_o need_v never_o be_v careful_a for_o any_o thing_n else_o to_o be_v join_v withal_o as_o for_o their_o purgatory_n purgatory_n and_o the_o silly_a help_n that_o they_o have_v allot_v thereunto_o we_o can_v neither_o stand_v in_o fear_n of_o the_o one_o nor_o if_o we_o shall_v be_v distress_v by_o it_o can_v hope_v of_o any_o relief_n of_o the_o other_o of_o their_o purgatory_n we_o can_v stand_v in_o fear_n both_o because_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o tell_v we_o of_o any_o such_o place_n and_o beside_o that_o it_o lap_v up_o all_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o remembrance_n thereof_o to_o all_o believer_n in_o the_o death_n and_o suffering_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o in_o so_o full_a and_o comfortable_a manner_n that_o it_o leave_v to_o we_o no_o dread_n at_o all_o of_o any_o such_o torment_n to_o be_v afterward_o suffer_v for_o sin_n by_o any_o of_o we_o and_o because_o it_o be_v so_o evident_a to_o all_o the_o world_n that_o it_o be_v at_o the_o first_o a_o heathenish_a opinion_n among_o the_o gentiles_n before_o they_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n and_o have_v be_v since_o use_v in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n as_o a_o compendious_a way_n to_o get_v in_o money_n and_o that_o beyond_o all_o measure_n and_o mean_v the_o help_n that_o they_o use_v to_o relieve_v the_o soul_n that_o they_o suppose_v to_o be_v afflict_v therein_o can_v do_v little_a good_a both_o because_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v any_o satisfaction_n for_o sin_n to_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n but_o only_o the_o death_n and_o suffering_n of_o christ_n and_o because_o that_o those_o help_n of_o they_o beside_o that_o they_o be_v very_o weak_a in_o themselves_o be_v not_o ordain_v of_o god_n to_o be_v the_o mean_n to_o apply_v the_o same_o unto_o any_o but_o only_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o party_n themselves_o wrought_v in_o they_o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n image_n in_o their_o worship_v of_o saint_n and_o image_n there_o be_v some_o odds_n howbeit_o we_o can_v find_v the_o better_a of_o they_o both_o their_o worship_v of_o saint_n i_o mean_v to_o be_v any_o better_a than_o plain_a idolatry_n so_o oft_o at_o least_o as_o it_o go_v beyond_o that_o honour_n which_o in_o the_o second_o table_n and_o five_o commandment_n be_v appoint_v to_o father_n &_o mother_n and_o reach_v unto_o the_o worship_n which_o in_o the_o first_o table_n and_o in_o the_o first_o &_o second_o commandment_n be_v before_o take_v up_o unto_o god_n as_o also_o we_o think_v themselves_o shall_v perceive_v that_o if_o they_o do_v it_o as_o a_o duty_n that_o they_o owe_v unto_o they_o or_o as_o a_o thing_n that_o saint_n do_v like_a of_o or_o to_o get_v some_o benefit_n at_o their_o hand_n in_o all_o these_o point_n they_o do_v but_o waste_v &_o lose_v their_o labour_n for_o that_o they_o owe_v they_o no_o such_o duty_n neither_o do_v they_o like_v that_o they_o shall_v offer_v they_o any_o such_o nor_o yet_o can_v help_v they_o in_o those_o thing_n that_o they_o crave_v at_o their_o hand_n and_o as_o for_o their_o image_n neither_o be_v they_o bless_v of_o god_n to_o yield_v any_o such_o fruit_n as_o they_o require_v at_o their_o hand_n neither_o shall_v we_o so_o maintain_v the_o dignity_n of_o our_o creation_n be_v ordain_v to_o repraesent_a the_o person_n of_o god_n to_o all_o these_o his_o creature_n if_o we_o shall_v so_o servile_o abase_v ourselves_o to_o stock_n and_o stone_n when_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v make_v we_o the_o head_n over_o they_o not_o they_o over_o we_o priest_n concern_v the_o marriage_n of_o those_o that_o be_v of_o the_o clergy_n see_v that_o both_o the_o scripture_n allow_v of_o it_o in_o all_o estate_n and_o degree_n whatsoever_o and_o that_o god_n in_o his_o wisdom_n ordain_v the_o same_o and_o see_v that_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o antiquity_n have_v have_v it_o in_o continual_a use_n it_o be_v a_o thing_n we_o think_v more_o plain_a than_o that_o we_o may_v allow_v any_o controversy_n thereof_o to_o be_v make_v if_o this_o will_v not_o serve_v let_v they_o but_o turn_v back_o their_o eye_n to_o themselves_o and_o but_o make_v a_o indifferent_a search_n how_o fowl_n and_o manifold_a pollution_n have_v break_v forth_o among_o they_o since_o the_o time_n that_o they_o have_v abandon_v marriage_n from_o their_o order_n and_o that_o one_o thing_n we_o think_v will_v be_v sufficient_a to_o teach_v they_o that_o herein_o they_o be_v far_o overshoot_v and_o have_v find_v it_o true_a in_o themselves_o by_o experience_n that_o which_o before_o they_o may_v have_v learn_v at_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o lord_n that_o general_o it_o be_v not_o good_a for_o any_o estate_n of_o man_n to_o live_v unmarried_a when_o as_o thereby_o they_o so_o quik_o bring_v all_o their_o order_n so_o fowl_n out_o of_o order_n faith_n as_o for_o their_o inhaerent_a justice_n and_o that_o with_o some_o distemper_a affection_n as_o it_o seem_v they_o charge_v we_o to_o allow_v of_o none_o other_o but_o that_o which_o be_v putative_a and_o only_a faith_n the_o substance_n of_o this_o matter_n be_v before_o special_o touch_v it_o be_v not_o needful_a here_o to_o say_v any_o more_o thereof_o so_o these_o be_v in_o effect_n those_o great_a matter_n for_o who_o sake_n we_o be_v charge_v to_o have_v translate_v so_o corrupt_o and_o so_o consequent_o in_o the_o judgement_n of_o some_o that_o we_o have_v not_o the_o word_n of_o god_n at_o all_o among_o we_o whereunto_o will_v they_o add_v but_o this_o little_a correction_n that_o for_o these_o matter_n we_o have_v it_o not_o to_o their_o good_a like_n thereunto_o can_v we_o be_v content_a to_o yield_v and_o therewithal_o think_v that_o we_o still_o must_v want_v all_o authority_n of_o scripture_n for_o they_o otherwise_o they_o have_v sufficient_o find_v even_o in_o the_o ruin_n of_o their_o own_o usurpation_n and_o doctrine_n that_o we_o have_v the_o scripture_n among_o we_o as_o also_o not_o many_o of_o themselves_o do_v charge_n we_o but_o only_o for_o these_o and_o for_o a_o few_o such_o other_o beside_o of_o such_o
