mental_a reservation_n and_o equivocation_n but_o say_v with_o great_a confidence_n it_o have_v be_v receive_v in_o the_o roman_a church_n for_o no_o less_o than_o four_o hundred_o year_n and_o that_o in_o some_o case_n they_o be_v all_o still_o agree_v in_o it_o see_v parson_n treatise_n of_o mitigation_n c._n 7._o sect._n 2._o 3._o c._n 10._o sect._n 1_o 2._o we_o do_v not_o deny_v that_o innocent_a xi_o have_v condemn_v equivocation_n and_o mental_a reservation_n in_o swear_v as_o at_o least_o scandalous_a and_o pernicious_a in_o practice_n and_o therefore_o we_o can_v charge_v the_o pope_n with_o abet_v this_o doctrine_n but_o we_o can_v but_o reflect_v on_o what_o our_o author_n say_v about_o the_o depose_v doctrine_n that_o although_o pope_n have_v believe_v it_o and_o act_v by_o it_o yet_o the_o great_a number_n oppose_v it_o and_o what_o shall_v we_o say_v in_o this_o case_n if_o the_o generality_n of_o their_o casuist_n in_o some_o case_n approve_v it_o and_o think_v it_o no_o lie_n or_o perjury_n as_o in_o that_o of_o confession_n but_o if_o it_o be_v real_o so_o in_o any_o one_o case_n than_o it_o may_v be_v some_o other_o fault_n but_o it_o be_v not_o a_o lie_n or_o perjury_n in_o any_o other_o when_o a_o man_n do_v not_o think_v himself_o bind_v to_o speak_v all_o he_o know_v 3._o that_o as_o we_o high_o commend_v the_o pope_n condemn_v such_o doctrine_n and_o practice_n now_o so_o we_o have_v reason_n to_o think_v the_o contrary_n do_v not_o once_o want_v the_o encouragement_n and_o approbation_n of_o the_o roman_a see_n as_o may_v be_v sound_a in_o the_o resolution_n of_o some_o case_n by_o pius_n v._o relate_v to_o some_o missionary_n who_o be_v to_o be_v send_v hither_o and_o than_o it_o be_v declare_v that_o if_o they_o be_v summon_v before_o possible_a assistance_n to_o put_v they_o into_o the_o best_a way_n for_o their_o salvation_n but_o yet_o there_o may_v be_v some_o particular_a doctrine_n own_v in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n which_o may_v give_v man_n too_o much_o encouragement_n to_o put_v off_o true_a repentance_n as_o 1._o the_o easiness_n of_o be_v put_v into_o a_o state_n of_o grace_n by_o the_o sacrament_n of_o
