shall make the ephod of gold of blue and of purple of scarlet and fine twined linen with cunning work 7 It shall have the two shoulder-pieces thereof joyned at the two edges thereof and so it shall be joyned together 8 And the ‖ Or embroidered curious girdle of the ephod which is upon it shall be of the same according to the work thereof even of gold of blue and purple and scarlet and fine twined linen 9 And thou shalt take two onyx-stones and grave on them the names of the children of Israel 10 Six of their names on one stone and the other six names of the rest on the other stone according to their birth 11 * Wis 18.34 With the work of an engraver in stone like the engravings of a signet shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel thou shalt make them to be set in ouch as of gold 12 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel And Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial 13 ¶ And thou shalt make ouches of gold 14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends of wreathen work shalt thou make them and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches 15 ¶ And thou shalt make the breast-plate of judgement with cunning work after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it of gold of blue and of purple and of scarlet and of fine twined linen shalt thou make it 16 Four-square it shall be being doubled a span shall be the length thereof and a span shall be the breadth thereof 17 And thou shalt †Heb. fill in it fillings of stone set in it settings of stones even four â—oâ—â— of stones the first row shall be a ‖ Or. ruby sardius a topaz and a carbuâ—â—â— this shall be the first row 18 And the second row shall be an emeraud a sapphire and a diamond 19 And the third row a figure and agate and an amethyst 20 And the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper they shall be set in gold in their †Heb. fillings enclosings 21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel twelve according to their names like the engravings of a signet every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes 22 ¶ And thou shalt make upon the breast-plate chains at the ends of wreathen work of pure gold 23 And thou shalt make upon the breast-plate two rings of gold and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breast-plate 24 And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breast-plate 25 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two ouches and put them on the shoulder-pieces or the ephod before it 26 ¶ And thou shalt make two rings of gold and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breast-plate in the border thereof which is in the side of the ephod inward 27 And two other rings of gold thou shalt make and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath towards the fore-part thereof over against the other coupling thereof above the curious girdle of the ephod 28 And they shall binde the breast-plate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod and that the breast-plate be not loosed from the ephod 29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breast-plate of judgement upon his heart when he goeth in unto the holy place for a memorial before the LORD continually 30 ¶ And thou shalt put in the breast-plate of judgement the Urim and the Thummim and they shall be upon Aarons heart when he goeth in before the LORD and Aaron shall bear the judgement of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually 31 ¶ And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue 32 And there shall be an hole in the top of it in the midst thereof it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it as it were the hole of an habergâ—on that it be not rent 33 ¶ And beneath upon the ‖ Or skirts hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue and of purple and of scarlet round about the hem thereof and bells of gold between them round about 34 A golden bell and a pomegranate a golden bell and a thou shalt make the girdle of needle-work 40 ¶ And for Aarons sons thou shalt make coats and thou shalt make for them girdles and bonnets shalt thou make for them for glory and for beauty 41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother and his sons with him and shalt anoint them and †Heb. fill their band consecrate them and sanctifie them that they may minister unto me in the priests office 42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover †Heb. flâ—sh of their nakedness their nakedness from the loyns even unto the things they shall †Heb. be reach 43 And they shall be upon Aaron and upon his sons when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place that they bear not iniquity and die It shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him CHAP. XIII 1 In the â—â—pe of a lineâ— girdle kidden at Euphrates God prefigureth the destruction of his people 12Vnder the parable of the bottles filled with wine he foretelleth their drunkenness in misery 15 He exhorteth to prevent their future judgements 22 He sheweth their abominations are the cause thereof THus saith the LORD unto me Go and get thee a linen girdle and put it upon thy loyns and put it not in water 2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD and put it on my loyns 3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time saying 4 Take the girdle that thou hast got which is upon thy loyns and arise go to Euphrates and hide it there in a hole of the rock 5 So I went and hid it by Euphrates as the LORD commanded me 6 And it came to pass after many days that the LORD said unto me Arise go to Euphrates and take the girdle from thence which I commanded thee to hide there 7 Then I went to Euphrates and digged and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it and behold the girdle was marred it was profitable for nothing 8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me saying 9 Thus saith the LORD After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem 10 This evil people which refuse to hear my words which walk in the ‖ Or stubb â—nness imagination of their heart and walk after other gods to serve them and to worship them shall even be as this girdle which is good for nothing 11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loyns of a man so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah saith the LORD that they might be unto me for a people for a name and for a praise for a glory but they would not hear 12 ¶ Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word Thus saith the LORD God of Israel Every bottle shall be filled with wine and they shall say unto thee Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine 13 Then shalt thou say unto them Thus saith the LORD Behold I will fill all the inhabitants of this land even the kings that sit upon Davids throne and the priests and the prophets and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with drunkenness 14 And I will dash them †Heb. a man against his brother one against another even the fathers and the sons together saith the LORD I will not pity nor spare not have mercy †Heb. from destroying them but destroy them 15 ¶ Hear ye and give ear be not proud for the LORD hath spoken 16 Give glory to the LORD your God before he cause * If. 8.22 darkness and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains and while ye look for light he turn it into the shadow of death and make it gross darkness 17 But if ye will not hear it my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride and * La. 1.2 16 and 2.18 mine eye shall weep sore and run down with tears because the LORDs flock is carried away captive 18 Say unto the king and to the queen Humble your selves sit down for your ‖ Or head-tires principalities shall come down even the crown of your glory 19 The cities of the south shall be shut up and none shall open them Judah shall be carried away captive all of it it shall be wholly carried away captive 20 Lift up your eyes and behold them that come from the north where is the flock that was given thee thy beautiful flock 21 What wilt thou say when he shall †Heb. visit upon punish thee for thou hast taught them to be captains and as chief over thee shall not sorrows take thee as a woman in travail 22 ¶ And it thou say in thine heart * Ch 5.19 and 16.10 Wherefore come these things upon me for the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered and thy heels ‖ Or shall be violently taken away made bare 23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots then may ye also do good that are †Heb. caught accustomed to do evil 24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness 25 This is thy lot the portion of thy measures from me saith the LORD because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in falshood 26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face that thy shame may appear 27 I have seen thine adulteries and thy neighings the lewdness of thy whoredom and thine abominations on the hills in the fields wo unto thee O Jerusalem wilt thou not be made clean †Heb. after when â—et when shall it once be CHAP. XIV 1 The grievous famine 7 causeth Jeremiah to pray 10 The Lord will not be intreated for the people 13 Lying prophets are no excuse for them 17 Jeremiah is moved to complain for them THe word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning †Heb. the words of the dearths or restraints the dearth 2 Judah mourneth and the gates thereof languish they are black unto the ground and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up 3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters they came to the pits and found no water they returned with their vessels empty they were ashamed and confounded and covered their heads 4 Because the ground is chapt for there was no rain in the earth the plowmen were ashamed they covered their heads 5 Yea the hind also calved in the field and forsook it because there was no grass 6 And the wilde asses did stand in the high places they snuffed up the wind
If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever and they have no rest day nor night who worship the beast and his image and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name 12 Here is the patience of the saints here are they that keep the commandments of God and the saith of Jesus 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me Write Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord ‖ Or from henceforth saith the Spirit Yea. from henceforth Yea saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them 14 And I looked and behold a white cloud and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man having on his head a golden crown and in his hand a sharp sickle 15 And another angel came out of the temple crying with a load voice to him that sat on the cloud * Joel 3.13 Thrust in thy sickle and reap for the time is come for thee to reap for the harvest of the earth is ‖ Or dried ripe 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth and the earth was reaped 17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven he also having a sharp sickle 18 And another angel came out from the altar which had power over fire and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle saying Thrust in thy sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth for her grapes are fully ripe 19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth and cast it into the great wine-press of the wrath of God 20 And the wine-press was troden without the city and bloud came out of the wine-press even unto the horse-bridles by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs CHAP. XV. 1 The seven angels with the seven last plagues 3 The song of them that overcome the beast 7 The seven vials full of the wrath of God ANd I saw another signe in heaven great and marvellous seven angels having the seven last plagues for in them is filled up the wrath of God 2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire and them that had gotten the victory over the beast and over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name stand on the sea of glass having the harps of God 3 And they sing * Exod. 15.1 the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb saying Great and marvellous are thy works Lord God Almighty * Psal 145.17 just and true are thy ways thou king of saints 4 * Jer. 10.7 Who shall not fear thee O Lord and glorifie thy name for thou onely art holy for all nations shall come and worship before thee for thy judgements are made manifest 5 And after that I looked and behold the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened 6 And the seven angels came out of the temple having the seven plagues clothed in pure and white linen and having their breasts girded with golden girdles 7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God who liveth for ever and ever 8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power and no man was able to enter into the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled CHAP. XVI 2 The angels pour out thrir vials full of wrath 6 The plagues that follow thereupon 15 Christ cometh as a thief Blessed are they that watch ANd I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels Go your ways and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth 2 And the first went and poured out his vial upon the earth and there fell a noisom and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast and upon them which worshipped his image 3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea and it became as the bloud of a dead man and every living soul died in the sea 4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters and they became bloud 5 And I heard the angel of the waters say Thou art righteous O Lord which art and wast and shalt be because thou hast judged thus 6 For they have shed the bloud of saints and prophets and thou hast given them bloud to drink for they are worthy 7 And I heard another out of the altar say Even so Lord God Almighty true and righteous are thy judgements 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire 9 And men were ‖ Or burned scorched with great heat and blasphemed the name of God which hath power over these plagues and they repented not to give him glory 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast and his kingdom was full of darkness and they gnawed their tongues for pain 11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores and repented not of their deeds 12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates and the water thereof was dried up that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet 14 For they are the spirits of devils working miracles which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world to gather them to the battel of that great day of God Almighty 15 * Matth. 24.43 Chap. 3 3◠Behold I come as a thief Blessed is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments lest he walk naked and they see his shame 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon 17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven from the throne saying it is done 18 And there were voices and thunders and lightnings and there was a great earthquake such as was not since men were upon the earth so mighty an earthquake and so great 19 And the great city was divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fell and great
