busy_v ourselves_o about_o some_o work_n and_o will_v take_v in_o hand_n some_o enterprise_n without_o have_v respect_n to_o the_o end_n but_o in_o pursue_v the_o thing_n we_o conceive_v some_o hope_n which_o make_v that_o man_n be_v more_o diligent_a about_o his_o work_n and_o because_o he_o hope_v well_o of_o his_o work_n his_o heart_n and_o stomach_n increase_v and_o he_o go_v forewarde_o the_o more_o earnest_o and_o with_o great_a affection_n now_o as_o the_o work_v be_v diverse_a and_o the_o purpose_n and_o the_o enterprise_n also_o and_o that_o there_o be_v both_o good_a and_o bad_a and_o that_o by_o the_o good_a we_o tend_v unto_o a_o good_a end_n and_o by_o the_o evil_a unto_o a_o evil_a end_n and_o that_o the_o one_o come_v of_o a_o good_a desire_n &_o sound_v conscience_n and_o in_o the_o 24._o 25._o 26._o 27._o 28._o 29._o and_o 30._o verse_n and_o now_o speak_v of_o they_o which_o be_v void_a of_o their_o hope_n he_o say_v when_o a_o wicked_a man_n die_v his_o hope_n perish_v etc._n etc._n the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o threaten_n may_v have_v two_o meaning_n and_o both_o true_a for_o first_o of_o all_o when_o the_o wicked_a do_v see_v themselves_o to_o prosper_v in_o this_o world_n they_o delight_v and_o rejoice_v in_o themselves_o they_o promise_v unto_o themselves_o perpetual_a felicity_n and_o do_v brag_v and_o boast_v so_o much_o as_o they_o can_v hope_v that_o all_o shall_v go_v well_o for_o they_o and_o that_o no_o evil_a shall_v happen_v unto_o they_o david_n say_v for_o the_o wicked_a have_v make_v boast_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n desire_v and_o the_o covetous_a bless_v 14._o psal_n 10._o 3._o psalm_n 9_o 17._o wisd_v 5._o 14._o himself_o but_o they_o feel_v the_o contrary_a as_o david_n say_v the_o wicked_a shall_v turn_v into_o hell_n and_o thus_o it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o wicked_a shall_v perish_v when_o he_o die_v the_o hope_n of_o the_o ungodly_a be_v like_o the_o dust_n that_o be_v blow_v which_o be_v esteem_v of_o in_o this_o world_n many_o do_v set_v in_o foot_n to_o commend_v he_o and_o flatter_v he_o every_o man_n labour_v to_o do_v he_o service_n and_o to_o grant_v his_o request_n every_o man_n bow_v and_o humble_v himself_o before_o he_o and_o be_v at_o his_o commandment_n for_o they_o hope_v to_o win_v something_o by_o he_o the_o flatterer_n which_o be_v in_o king_n saul_n court_n which_o serve_v he_o in_o persecute_v of_o david_n and_o encourage_v he_o thereto_o hope_v great_o that_o saul_n will_v do_v they_o good_a and_o promote_v they_o unto_o honour_n &_o think_v not_o that_o saul_n shall_v so_o soon_o have_v be_v take_v away_o but_o the_o miserable_a end_n of_o saul_n have_v make_v they_o void_a of_o their_o hope_n also_o all_o their_o like_a do_v prove_v that_o when_o the_o wicked_a die_v that_o the_o hope_v they_o have_v do_v perish_v this_o be_v a_o ordinary_a thing_n and_o therefore_o it_o have_v no_o need_n of_o probation_n these_o two_o interpretation_n be_v true_a as_o have_v be_v say_v but_o to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v compel_v to_o say_v that_o solomon_n use_v here_o a_o rehearse_n we_o will_v choose_v the_o second_o sense_n for_o the_o meet_a to_o the_o end_n that_o
to_o move_v we_o to_o goodness_n &_o to_o turn_v we_o from_o evil_a after_o the_o doctrine_n and_o advertisement_n of_o the_o despise_n of_o fool_n direct_v to_o we_o his_o word_n exhort_v promise_a forbid_v &_o threaten_v the_o exhortation_n be_v my_o son_n hear_v etc._n etc._n in_o this_o exhortation_n to_o the_o end_n he_o will_v be_v hear_v with_o more_o reverence_n and_o fear_n he_o speak_v as_o the_o father_n to_o his_o child_n here_o we_o may_v say_v that_o solomon_n speak_v in_o the_o person_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o only_a father_n of_o all_o or_o in_o the_o person_n of_o the_o pastor_n &_o teacher_n 25._o mat._n 25._o of_o the_o church_n who_o call_v those_o his_o child_n which_o he_o instruct_v &_o teach_v because_o he_o beget_v they_o to_o god_n &_o to_o his_o church_n through_o the_o word_n david_n use_v this_o manner_n of_o speak_v likewise_o do_v s._n paul_n and_o s._n john_n therein_o they_o attribute_v nothing_o to_o themselves_o neither_o by_o any_o mean_n do_v derogate_v from_o the_o fatherhood_n of_o god_n for_o it_o have_v please_v god_n to_o make_v they_o partaker_n of_o this_o honour_n when_o he_o do_v use_v they_o as_o instrument_n to_o increase_v we_o may_v follow_v it_o with_o true_a and_o continual_a repencance_n detest_a evil_a &_o love_v good_a with_o all_o our_o desire_n and_o forsake_v not_o when_o solomon_n add_v this_o he_o give_v we_o well_o to_o understand_v that_o he_o do_v not_o only_o allure_v we_o to_o hear_v but_o to_o obey_v and_o therewith_o immediate_o he_o answer_v to_o a_o question_n which_o may_v be_v make_v to_o wit_n how_o shall_v we_o hear_v god_n see_v he_o be_v a_o invisible_a &_o incomprehensible_a spirit_n he_o give_v i_o say_v the_o solution_n admonish_v we_o not_o to_o forsake_v the_o teach_n of_o our_o which_o do_v reject_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o not_o acknowledge_v jesus_n christ_n for_o head_n but_o antichrist_n and_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n but_o forasmuch_o as_o we_o ourselves_o can_v discern_v the_o church_n of_o the_o wicked_a from_o that_o of_o the_o faithful_a we_o must_v ask_v of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n and_o discretion_n and_o undoubted_o he_o will_v give_v it_o us._n for_o they_o shall_v be_v after_o the_o exhortation_n he_o put_v the_o promise_n by_o 9_o mat._n 7._o 9_o a_o figure_n and_o similitude_n as_o if_o he_o do_v say_v like_a as_o
