faithful_a by_o the_o influence_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o the_o discipline_n of_o his_o gospel_n thus_o the_o holy_a spirit_n have_v think_v fit_a to_o signify_v man_n happiness_n and_o his_o duty_n by_o the_o very_a same_o expression_n whether_o first_o to_o suggest_v one_o principal_a point_n of_o wisdom_n that_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v never_o think_v of_o our_o happiness_n but_o we_o shall_v at_o the_o same_o time_n think_v of_o our_o duty_n too_o and_o the_o necessary_a dependence_n that_o the_o one_o have_v upon_o the_o other_o or_o second_o to_o intimate_v that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o citizen_n that_o he_o be_v either_o militant_a or_o triumphant_a but_o it_o be_v a_o everlasting_a essential_a to_o he_o that_o he_o be_v holy_a and_o in_o this_o both_o state_n must_v agree_v as_o therefore_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n may_v just_o ravish_v our_o thought_n with_o the_o notion_n it_o bear_v of_o the_o beatific_a presence_n of_o god_n of_o the_o company_n of_o angel_n of_o glory_n pleafure_n and_o joy_n that_o be_v unmixed_a and_o eternal_a so_o it_o may_v as_o just_o serve_v to_o awaken_v our_o care_n and_o diligence_n and_o strict_a inspection_n of_o ourselves_o to_o the_o single_a virtue_n of_o humility_n can_v by_o itself_o be_v entitle_v to_o glory_n but_o only_o in_o conjunction_n with_o those_o other_o virtue_n that_o must_v be_v build_v upon_o it_o and_o three_o because_o of_o other_o parallel_a text_n which_o may_v serve_v to_o guide_v we_o in_o the_o interpretation_n of_o this_o particular_o that_o in_o st._n luke_n 18._o 17._o where_o our_o saviour_n say_v that_o except_o a_o man_n receive_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n as_o a_o little_a child_n he_o shall_v in_o no_o wise_n enter_v therein_o in_o which_o word_n as_o the_o resemblance_n of_o a_o little_a child_n do_v express_o signify_v the_o duty_n of_o my_o text_n so_o by_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n that_o must_v be_v receive_v that_o must_v be_v take_v into_o we_o can_v possible_o be_v mean_v any_o thing_n but_o the_o discipline_n of_o grace_n in_o our_o heart_n for_o these_o reason_n i_o conclude_v that_o by_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n in_o the_o text_n be_v be_v bless_v because_o he_o be_v proper_o dispose_v and_o qualify_v to_o become_v a_o true_a disciple_n a_o good_a christian._n this_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o word_n i_o shall_v form_v my_o discourse_n upon_o they_o in_o this_o method_n 1._o i_o shall_v show_v the_o nature_n and_o reasonableness_n of_o the_o duty_n of_o humility_n 2._o i_o shall_v show_v its_o influence_n usefulness_n and_o necessity_n in_o order_n to_o attain_v the_o true_a christian_a state_n first_o humility_n be_v a_o quality_n that_o relate_v not_o to_o man_n fortune_n but_o their_o mind_n it_o call_v no_o man_n from_o his_o rank_n nor_o dive_v he_o of_o his_o title_n poverty_n of_o spirit_n be_v well_o consistent_a with_o height_n of_o place_n and_o the_o overture_n of_o grace_n be_v as_o free_a to_o
