CXX IN my distresse I cried unto the Lord and he heard me 2 Deliver my soul O Lord from lying lips and from a deceitfull tongue UNto the Lord in my distresse I cri'd and he me heard 2 From lying lips deceitfull tongues my soul Lord do thou guard 3 What shall be given unto thee or what shall be done unto thee thou false tongue 4 Sharp arrows of the mighty with coals of Iuniper 3 What shall be giv'n thee Or what shall be done false tongue to thee 4 Sharp arrows of the strong with coals of Juniper that be 5 Wo is me that I sojourn in Mesech that I dwell in the tents of Kedar 5 Now wo is me that I sojourn in Mesech thus so long That I do dwell within the tents to Kedar that belong 6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace 7 I am for peace but when I speak they are for war 6 My soul it hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace so far 7 I am for peace but when I speak they ever are for war PSAL. CXXI I Will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help 2 My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth UP to the hils I 'le lift mine eyes from whence my help comes forth 2 My help it cometh from the Lord which heaven made and earth 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved he that keepeth thee will not slumber 4 Behold he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep 3 Thy foot he 'l not let move he will not slumber that thee keeps 4 Behold he that keeps Israel he slumbers not nor sleeps 5 The Lord is thy keeper the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand 6 The Sun shall not smite thee by day nor the Moon by night 5 The Lord thee keeps on thy right hand the Lord thy shade is right 6 The Sun shall not thee smite by day nor yet the Moon by night 7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even for evermore 7 The Lord shall keep thy soul he shall preserve thee from all ill 8 The Lord thy going out and in keep henceforth ever will PSAL. CXXII I Was glade when they said unto me Let us go into the house of the Lord. CXXIV IF it had not been the Lord who was on our side now may Israel say 2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us IF God had not been on our side may Israel now say â—… If God had not been our side when men rose us to slay 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick when their wrath was kindled against us 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us the stream had gone over our soul. 3 They had us swallowed quick when as 'gainst us their wrath was kindled 4 Then overwhelm'd us waters had the stream our soul had covered 5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 6 Blessed be the Lord who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth 5 Then likewise waters that are proud gone ov're our soul had they 6 Blest be the Lord who to their teeth not gave us as a prey 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers the snare is broken and we are escaped 7 Our soul 's escaped as a bird out of the foulers snare
