misconstrue_v god_n who_o as_o if_o he_o have_v hide_v these_o thing_n because_o he_o will_v have_v they_o seek_v and_o lay_v the_o other_o open_a for_o neglect_v bend_v themselves_o whole_o to_o the_o seek_v of_o these_o earthly_a commodity_n and_o do_v no_o more_o mind_n heaven_n than_o if_o there_o be_v none_o if_o we_o can_v imagine_v a_o beast_n to_o have_v reason_n how_o can_v he_o be_v more_o absurd_a in_o his_o choice_n how_o easy_a be_v it_o to_o observe_v that_o still_o the_o high_o we_o go_v the_o more_o purity_n and_o perfection_n we_o find_v so_o earth_n be_v the_o very_a task_n so_o also_o constant_a in_o continue_v it_o constant_a both_o in_o time_n and_o in_o matter_n both_o in_o a_o set_a course_n and_o hour_n reserve_v for_o this_o work_n and_o in_o a_o unwearied_a prosecution_n of_o it_o once_o begin_v those_o that_o meditate_v by_o snatch_n and_o uncertain_a fit_n when_o only_o all_o other_o employment_n forsake_v they_o or_o when_o good_a motion_n be_v thrust_v upon_o they_o by_o necessity_n let_v they_o never_o hope_v to_o reach_v to_o any_o perfection_n for_o these_o feeble_a beginning_n of_o lukewarm_a grace_n which_o be_v wrought_v in_o they_o by_o one_o fit_a of_o serious_a meditation_n be_v soon_o extinguish_v by_o intermission_n and_o by_o mis-wonting_a perish_v this_o day_n meal_n though_o large_a and_o liberal_a strengthen_v and_o yield_v not_o to_o a_o easy_a distraction_n there_o be_v no_o hardness_n in_o this_o practice_n but_o in_o the_o beginning_n use_n shall_v give_v it_o not_o ease_v only_o but_o delight_n thy_o companion_n entertain_v thou_o this_o while_n in_o love_a discourse_n or_o some_o inexpected_a business_n offer_v to_o interrupt_v thou_o never_o any_o good_a work_n shall_v want_v some_o hindrance_n either_o break_n through_o the_o let_v except_o it_o be_v with_o incivility_n or_o loss_n or_o if_o they_o be_v importunate_a pay_v thyself_o the_o time_n that_o be_v unreasonable_o borrow_v and_o never_o weary_a the_o mind_n of_o man_n be_v of_o a_o strange_a metal_n if_o it_o be_v not_o use_v it_o rust_v if_o use_v hardly_o it_o break_v brief_o be_v soon_o dull_v than_o satisfy_v with_o a_o continual_a meditation_n whence_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o those_o ancient_a monk_n who_o intermedle_v bodily_a labour_n with_o their_o contemplation_n prove_v so_o excellent_a in_o this_o divine_a business_n when_o those_o at_o this_o day_n which_o have_v mew_v and_o mure_v up_o themselves_o from_o the_o world_n spend_v themselves_o whole_o upon_o their_o bead_n and_o crucifix_n pretend_v no_o other_o work_n but_o meditation_n have_v cold_a heart_n to_o god_n and_o to_o the_o world_n show_v nothing_o but_o a_o dull_a shadow_n of_o devotion_n for_o that_o if_o the_o thought_n of_o these_o latter_a be_v as_o divine_a as_o they_o be_v superstitious_a yet_o be_v without_o all_o interchangeablenesse_n bend_v upon_o the_o same_o discourse_n the_o mind_n must_v needs_o grow_v weary_a the_o thought_n remiss_a and_o languish_a the_o object_n tedious_a while_o the_o other_o refresh_v themselves_o with_o this_o wise_a variety_n employ_v the_o hand_n while_o they_o call_v off_o the_o mind_n as_o good_a comedian_n so_o mix_v their_o part_n that_o the_o pleasantness_n of_o the_o one_o may_v temper_v the_o austereness_n of_o the_o other_o whereupon_o they_o gain_v both_o enough_o to_o the_o body_n and_o to_o the_o soul_n more_o than_o if_o it_o have_v be_v all_o the_o while_n busy_v beside_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o object_n let_v this_o assiduity_n of_o
