all_o the_o saint_n and_o angel_n in_o heaven_n and_o to_o put_v forth_o the_o extremity_n of_o those_o affection_n towards_o the_o great_a and_o bless_a god_n in_o love_v and_o delight_v in_o he_o to_o the_o utmost_a of_o its_o capacity_n yet_o when_o that_o soul_n have_v act_v with_o the_o great_a ardency_n of_o all_o these_o affection_n towards_o god_n still_o be_v there_o more_o of_o worth_n and_o excellency_n in_o god_n than_o all_o these_o affection_n can_v reach_v unto_o and_o infinite_o more_o do_v he_o still_o deserve_v to_o be_v love_v and_o delight_v in_o it_o be_v true_a a_o gracious_a soul_n in_o heaven_n shall_v have_v other_o object_n to_o delight_n in_o as_o saint_n and_o angel_n and_o the_o glorious_a place_n of_o its_o habitation_n the_o high_a heaven_n but_o whatever_o joy_n or_o delight_n the_o soul_n express_v in_o or_o towards_o any_o of_o these_o object_n it_o be_v because_o of_o the_o divine_a excellency_n and_o perfection_n that_o be_v communicate_v to_o they_o and_o do_v shine_v forth_o glorious_o in_o they_o but_o still_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a object_n of_o their_o joy_n here_o on_o earth_n a_o saint_n joy_n be_v chief_o in_o god_n hab._n 3._o i_o will_v rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o god_n of_o my_o salvation_n psal_n 34.2_o my_o soul_n shall_v make_v she_o boast_v in_o the_o lord_n psal_n 33.1_o rejoice_v in_o can_v find_v god_n gracious_o smile_v upon_o it_o go_v on_o still_o o_o soul_n seek_v he_o and_o mourn_v after_o he_o and_o remember_v for_o thy_o comfort_n though_o weep_v may_v endure_v for_o a_o night_n yet_o joy_n will_v come_v in_o the_o morning_n there_o be_v a_o time_n come_v when_o thy_o sorrow_n shall_v be_v turn_v into_o joy_n yea_o when_o thou_o shall_v have_v fullness_n and_o happiness_n to_o he_o for_o the_o great_a the_o good_a be_v that_o be_v enjoy_v if_o mix_v with_o continual_a fear_n of_o lose_v it_o the_o less_o joy_n and_o delight_n be_v there_o unto_o any_o in_o the_o possess_n of_o it_o because_o the_o fear_n of_o be_v deprive_v of_o so_o great_a a_o good_a abate_v so_o much_o of_o the_o happiness_n and_o comfort_n that_o otherwise_o will_v accrue_v unto_o the_o soul_n in_o the_o enjoy_n of_o it_o that_o it_o make_v it_o to_o be_v very_o little_a comparative_o to_o what_o it_o will_v be_v that_o which_o otherwise_o will_v be_v unexpressible_o delectable_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n by_o our_o fear_n of_o lose_v it_o gives_z little_a contentment_n to_o we_o while_o we_o be_v possess_v of_o it_o now_o though_o there_o be_v just_a cause_n for_o we_o to_o fear_v the_o loss_n of_o all_o earthly_a enjoyment_n and_o possible_o it_o may_v be_v necessary_a that_o god_n shall_v suffer_v such_o fear_n to_o prevail_v upon_o we_o that_o worldly_a thing_n may_v have_v less_o of_o our_o heart_n and_o affection_n and_o himself_o the_o more_o yet_o as_o to_o heaven_n and_o the_o happiness_n thereof_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n for_o any_o such_o fear_n nay_o though_o the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n be_v ten_o thousand_o time_n great_a than_o what_o we_o can_v promise_v ourselves_o in_o all_o worldly_a enjoyment_n yet_o that_o which_o add_v to_o the_o excellency_n of_o that_o happiness_n be_v this_o that_o it_o be_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o certain_a and_o secure_a than_o any_o worldly_a thing_n can_v be_v the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n be_v not_o only_o a_o full_a and_o complete_a happiness_n but_o it_o be_v also_o a_o secure_a happiness_n it_o be_v a_o full_a happiness_n holy_a soul_n though_o they_o be_v never_o satisfy_v till_o then_o yet_o be_v they_o then_o full_o satisfy_v in_o heaven_n there_o be_v a_o cessation_n of_o desire_n in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n in_o that_o glorious_a place_n there_o be_v more_o of_o happiness_n than_o the_o soul_n be_v able_a to_o receive_v or_o bear_v and_o as_o this_o happiness_n be_v full_a and_o satisfactory_a so_o be_v it_o also_o secure_a it_o be_v a_o happiness_n that_o can_v be_v lose_v the_o gate_n of_o the_o new_a jerusalem_n that_o be_v of_o heaven_n be_v therefore_o say_v to_o stand_v open_a to_o show_v there_o be_v no_o fear_n of_o any_o enemy_n approach_v to_o take_v away_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o saint_n there_o god_n will_v never_o take_v away_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o saint_n from_o he_o the_o devil_n nor_o sin_n can_v take_v it_o away_o neither_o shall_v man_n himself_o either_o lose_v or_o throw_v it_o away_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o saint_n in_o heaven_n be_v not_o like_o the_o happiness_n of_o man_n in_o paradise_n which_o be_v in_o his_o own_o keep_n and_o so_o be_v soon_o lose_v by_o he_o but_o it_o be_v in_o god_n hand_n and_o so_o it_o can_v be_v lose_v as_o the_o power_n of_o god_n now_o preserve_v and_o keep_v a_o saint_n for_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o heaven_n therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n 1_o pet._n 1.5_o you_o be_v keep_v by_o the_o mighty_a power_n of_o god_n through_o faith_n unto_o salvation_n so_o the_o love_n the_o grace_n the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o have_v bestow_v the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n upon_o they_o will_v for_o ever_o secure_a the_o enjoyment_n of_o it_o to_o they_o and_o as_o the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n can_v be_v lose_v so_o it_o shall_v never_o decay_v it_o be_v therefore_o call_v by_o the_o apostle_n 1_o pet._n 1.4_o a_o inheritance_n sight_n and_o fruition_n of_o god_n what_o kind_n of_o sight_n or_o vision_n of_o god_n saint_n shall_v have_v in_o heaven_n which_o shall_v be_v 1._o immediate_a and_o clear_a 2._o transform_v 3._o joyful_a 4._o permanent_a and_o perpetual_a this_o sight_n and_o vision_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n will_v be_v a_o great_a happiness_n because_o god_n be_v 1._o a_o universal_a good_n 2._o a_o pure_a and_o unmixed_a good_n 3_o a_o suitable_a good_n 4_o a_o all_o sufficient_a good_n 5._o a_o satisfy_v good_n 6._o a_o everlasting_a good_n have_v in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o former_a chapter_n lay_v down_o a_o brief_a description_n of_o heaven_n and_o the_o happiness_n thereof_o i_o now_o come_v to_o a_o more_o particular_a distinct_a handle_n of_o the_o several_a branch_n of_o it_o now_o here_o the_o first_o thing_n that_o i_o shall_v instance_n in_o as_o a_o part_n of_o that_o happiness_n be_v the_o company_n and_o society_n that_o the_o saint_n shall_v eternal_o enjoy_v in_o heaven_n which_o be_v comprehend_v in_o these_o four_o particular_n fellowship_n with_o all_o the_o saint_n communion_n with_o angel_n the_o sight_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o our_o bless_a and_o glorious_a redeemer_n and_o the_o eternal_a vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n himself_o first_o the_o happiness_n of_o believer_n in_o heaven_n consist_v in_o their_o fellowship_n and_o society_n with_o the_o saint_n and_o people_n of_o god_n that_o have_v live_v in_o all_o age_n of_o the_o world_n the_o communion_n of_o saint_n and_o the_o great_a delight_n the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v take_v therein_o be_v that_o we_o often_o read_v of_o in_o scripture_n holy_a david_n speak_v of_o it_o with_o great_a pleasure_n psal_n 42.4_o i_o go_v say_v he_o to_o the_o house_n of_o god_n with_o the_o voice_n of_o joy_n and_o praise_n but_o why_o so_o it_o be_v say_v he_o with_o a_o multitude_n that_o keep_v holiday_n such_o society_n be_v the_o delight_n of_o his_o soul_n psal_n 16.3_o but_o to_o the_o saint_n the_o excellent_a one_o of_o the_o earth_n in_o who_o be_v all_o my_o delight_n o_o how_o rejoice_o do_v his_o soul_n speak_v when_o such_o company_n come_v unto_o he_o i_o be_v glad_a when_o they_o say_v unto_o i_o come_v let_v we_o go_v up_o unto_o the_o house_n of_o the_o lord_n psal_n 122.1_o it_o be_v true_a david_n great_a delight_n be_v in_o god_n and_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o and_o therefore_o say_v he_o i_o will_v go_v unto_o god_n my_o exceed_a joy_n and_o cheer_v psal_n 42.4_o but_o next_o unto_o god_n the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o communion_n with_o they_o be_v those_o he_o most_o esteem_v and_o therefore_o though_o his_o go_v to_o the_o house_n of_o god_n be_v chief_o to_o meet_v with_o god_n who_o his_o soul_n do_v most_o pant_v and_o account_v by_o a_o godly_a man_n to_o be_v such_o delightful_a company_n here_o on_o earth_n whilst_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o grace_n be_v in_o they_o in_o conjunction_n o_o how_o delightful_a will_v their_o company_n be_v in_o heaven_n when_o they_o shall_v be_v free_a from_o all_o sin_n and_o corruption_n have_v nothing_o but_o grace_n in_o they_o in_o perfection_n here_o on_o earth_n the_o communion_n of_o saint_n be_v sweet_a and_o desirable_a though_o mix_v with_o communion_n with_o the_o world_n so_o that_o while_o we_o have_v fellowship_n with_o they_o we_o be_v to_o have_v fellowship_n with_o sinner_n at_o the_o same_o time_n and_o indeed_o there_o be_v no_o society_n so_o pure_a and_o holy_a but_o there_o be_v and_o will_v be_v a_o number_n of_o unholy_a one_o among_o they_o to_o be_v full_a of_o holiness_n ourselves_o and_o to_o have_v none_o but_o holy_a one_o in_o our_o company_n be_v a_o desirable_a thing_n on_o earth_n but_o enjoy_v only_o in_o heaven_n here_o the_o chaff_n and_o the_o wheat_n must_v grow_v together_o all_o that_o be_v now_o call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o all_o holy_a but_o saint_n and_o sinner_n dwell_v together_o in_o the_o same_o house_n sit_v together_o at_o the_o same_o table_n lie_v together_o in_o the_o same_o bed_n yea_o eat_v both_o of_o the_o same_o spiritual_a meat_n and_o drink_v the_o same_o spiritual_a drink_n enjoy_v the_o same_o ordinance_n partake_v of_o the_o same_o sacrament_n even_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o bless_a lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n so_o that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n though_o they_o have_v communion_n one_o with_o another_o yet_o have_v they_o fellowship_n with_o sinner_n also_o and_o this_o will_v always_o be_v the_o state_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n while_o they_o be_v here_o but_o now_o in_o heaven_n believer_n shall_v have_v communion_n with_o the_o saint_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n and_o with_o none_o but_o they_o for_o all_o sinner_n shall_v be_v eternal_o exclude_v out_o

to_o be_v mention_v for_o a_o enjoyer_n of_o what_o he_o have_v take_v so_o much_o pain_n for_o because_o by_o that_o time_n he_o have_v with_o great_a toil_n and_o labour_n and_o it_o may_v be_v with_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o sin_n and_o guilt_n also_o obtain_v what_o he_o desire_v his_o life_n be_v at_o a_o end_n and_o he_o force_v to_o leave_v it_o unto_o other_o but_o who_o shall_v enjoy_v it_o he_o know_v not_o o_o this_o shortness_n of_o our_o life_n and_o the_o uncertainty_n of_o our_o enjoyment_n of_o all_o worldly_a thing_n shall_v put_v a_o check_n to_o our_o eager_a pursuit_n after_o they_o for_o they_o and_o we_o must_v soon_o part_v again_o there_o may_v be_v indeed_o some_o ignorant_a and_o forgetful_a person_n who_o may_v have_v no_o such_o sad_a and_o melancholy_a thought_n to_o disturb_v they_o in_o their_o carnal_a pleasure_n and_o delight_n and_o such_o may_v for_o the_o present_a be_v outward_o merry_a and_o jovial_a but_o what_o will_v become_v of_o this_o heavenly_a creature_n but_o at_o death_n the_o saint_n shall_v know_v their_o old_a friend_n and_o fellow-servant_n and_o then_o those_o heavenly_a and_o triumphant_a chariot_n shall_v carry_v up_o their_o depart_a soul_n with_o shouting_n and_o acclamation_n of_o joy_n into_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n where_o they_o shall_v make_v relation_n of_o the_o strange_a and_o wonderful_a providence_n of_o god_n towards_o they_o while_o they_o be_v here_o and_o join_v together_o in_o the_o high_a praise_n of_o god_n for_o evermore_o in_o this_o world_n the_o sight_n of_o one_o angel_n though_o a_o messenger_n of_o peace_n and_o one_o that_o bring_v good_a tiding_n along_o with_o he_o yet_o do_v cause_n fear_n and_o amazement_n but_o in_o heaven_n the_o saint_n shall_v behold_v all_o the_o shall_v enjoy_v in_o heaven_n and_o a_o truth_n of_o great_a certainty_n yet_o the_o way_n and_o manner_n of_o the_o saint_n converse_v with_o they_o there_o be_v very_o dark_a and_o obscure_a and_o that_o to_o which_o we_o be_v now_o altogether_o stranger_n let_v therefore_o the_o certainty_n thereof_o suppress_v our_o curiosity_n and_o satisfy_v our_o mind_n until_o we_o come_v thither_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v a_o full_a revelation_n and_o enjoyment_n thereof_o together_o be_v make_v not_o only_o like_a unto_o but_o equal_a with_o the_o angel_n three_o the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n lie_v in_o this_o that_o there_o they_o shall_v have_v a_o sight_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o their_o bless_a and_o glorious_a redeemet_n now_o this_o be_v a_o happiness_n so_o great_a that_o a_o saint_n can_v but_o account_v himself_o recompense_v with_o infinite_a gain_n and_o advantage_n though_o he_o lose_v his_o life_n in_o the_o attain_n of_o it_o christ_n say_v the_o apostle_n col._n 3.11_o be_v all_o in_o all_o it_o be_v doubtless_o a_o bless_a and_o glorious_a sight_n to_o behold_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n when_o he_o be_v here_o upon_o earth_n when_o in_o the_o day_n of_o his_o flesh_n he_o humble_v himself_o and_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o form_n of_o a_o servant_n for_o certain_o he_o be_v the_o comiy_a person_n
be_v our_o happiness_n must_v not_o be_v something_o below_o but_o something_o better_a than_o ourselves_o because_o it_o must_v perfect_v we_o but_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v worse_o than_o ourselves_o and_o the_o soul_n in_o cleave_v to_o they_o be_v secret_o conscious_a to_o itself_o that_o it_o do_v both_o debase_v and_o disparage_v be_v own_o excellency_n in_o adhere_v to_o they_o and_o therefore_o it_o meet_v with_o no_o satisfaction_n in_o they_o for_o so_o long_o as_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o be_v both_o less_o than_o the_o soul_n and_o worse_o than_o the_o soul_n it_o be_v impossible_a the_o soul_n shall_v receive_v satisfaction_n and_o contentment_n in_o they_o but_o now_o god_n be_v infinite_o great_a and_o therefore_o he_o can_v fill_v the_o soul_n and_o god_n be_v also_o infinite_o good_a and_o therefore_o he_o can_v satisfy_v the_o soul_n so_o that_o it_o shall_v not_o desire_v any_o thing_n above_o he_o or_o beside_o he_o as_o nothing_o can_v be_v the_o appetite_n of_o the_o soul_n unto_o himself_o satisfy_v all_o its_o crave_n charm_v all_o its_o restless_a motion_n and_o cause_v all_o its_o faculty_n in_o the_o pure_a and_o most_o complacential_a manner_n to_o conspire_v together_o how_o to_o give_v up_o themselves_o whole_o and_o entire_o to_o himself_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o no_o good_a short_a of_o the_o high_a and_o the_o chief_a good_a can_v satisfy_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n now_o this_o good_a be_v only_a god_n himself_o and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o in_o heaven_n be_v that_o which_o only_o give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n in_o all_o its_o capacity_n and_o desire_n the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v the_o same_o which_o god_n himself_o enjoy_v now_o the_o infinite_a blessedness_n of_o god_n consist_v in_o the_o fruition_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o himself_o for_o himself_o be_v his_o own_o happiness_n now_o this_o also_o be_v to_o be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n even_o a_o intimate_a and_o immediate_a enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o sure_o this_o must_v needs_o be_v infinite_o satisfactory_a to_o they_o enlarge_v therefore_o o_o holy_a soul_n make_v room_n for_o thy_o own_o glory_n and_o happiness_n spread_v forth_o thyself_o wide_a yea_o stretch_v out_o thy_o desire_n as_o large_a as_o heaven_n itself_o for_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n will_v fill_v and_o satisfy_v they_o six_o and_o last_o god_n be_v a_o permanent_a and_o everlasting_a good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v nèeds_o be_v a_o great_a yea_o the_o great_a happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n be_v god_n a_o universal_a good_a as_o he_o be_v and_o do_v the_o saint_n in_o the_o enjoy_n of_o he_o enjoy_v all_o good_a in_o he_o be_v god_n as_o he_o be_v a_o pure_a and_o unmixed_a good_a and_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o be_v there_o no_o mixture_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_a as_o there_o be_v not_o be_v god_n the_o most_o suitable_a good_a unto_o all_o our_o desire_n as_o he_o be_v be_v he_o also_o a_o all-sufficient_a good_a able_a to_o relieve_v and_o supply_v all_o our_o want_n and_o necessity_n as_o he_o be_v be_v god_n also_o a_o satify_v good_a that_o can_v give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n as_o he_o can_v yet_o if_o he_o be_v not_o a_o permanent_a and_o a_o abide_n good_a the_o soul_n can_v not_o be_v happy_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o for_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o good_a though_o it_o be_v after_o million_o of_o year_n enjoyment_n thereof_o be_v that_o which_o will_v fill_v the_o soul_n with_o bitterness_n and_o sorrow_n while_o it_o do_v enjoy_v it_o o_o how_o will_v the_o soul_n sigh_n and_o say_v it_o be_v true_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n i_o now_o partake_v of_o a_o great_a happiness_n yea_o the_o great_a that_o i_o can_v possible_o enjoy_v but_o alas_o there_o be_v a_o time_n a_o come_n when_o i_o must_v part_v with_o this_o my_o happiness_n o_o my_o soul_n thou_o shall_v not_o be_v always_o thus_o happy_a thy_o blessedness_n be_v every_o moment_n wear_v away_o thy_o happiness_n grow_v less_o and_o less_o daily_a because_o the_o time_n of_o enjoy_v it_o grow_v short_a and_o short_a and_o must_v not_o yea_o can_v it_o be_v otherwise_o but_o that_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o happiness_n short_o must_v abate_v much_o of_o the_o comfort_n and_o delight_n that_o otherwise_o the_o soul_n will_v take_v in_o it_o but_o now_o on_o the_o other_o side_n when_o a_o godly_a man_n consider_v with_o himself_o it_o be_v true_a the_o enjoyment_n of_o this_o world_n whereof_o i_o have_v a_o large_a share_n and_o wherewith_o i_o have_v be_v often_o refresh_v and_o delight_v be_v of_o a_o perish_a nature_n and_o but_o of_o a_o short_a continuance_n if_o not_o long_o before_o as_o be_v the_o case_n of_o many_o yet_o to_o be_v sure_a at_o death_n they_o and_o i_o must_v take_v our_o eternal_a leaf_n one_o of_o another_o but_o this_o be_v my_o comfort_n i_o have_v a_o interest_n in_o that_o god_n between_o who_o and_o i_o death_n shall_v never_o part_v nay_o between_o who_o and_o good_a not_o only_o universal_o unmix_o suitable_o sufficient_o and_o satisfactory_o but_o perpetual_o and_o everlasting_o and_o never_o shall_v i_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o they_o shall_v stick_v at_o no_o difficulty_n or_o danger_n for_o the_o attain_n of_o they_o and_o shall_v not_o the_o fore-thought_n of_o heaven_n and_o the_o contemplation_n of_o the_o glory_n and_o and_o that_o in_o so_o great_a a_o measure_n as_o shall_v enable_v he_o to_o mount_v up_o with_o wing_n like_o eagle_n to_o run_v and_o not_o be_v weary_a and_o to_o walk_v and_o not_o faint_a in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n the_o joy_n and_o consolation_n of_o heaven_n and_o of_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n be_v his_o continual_a strength_n and_o support_n the_o reason_n of_o all_o that_o sloathfulness_n and_o deadness_n that_o be_v to_o be_v find_v in_o christian_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o their_o duty_n be_v because_o they_o be_v such_o stranger_n unto_o heaven_n have_v so_o have_v as_o the_o apostle_n say_v of_o himself_o and_o other_o his_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n how_o easy_o may_v he_o be_v difference_v from_o other_o man_n he_o that_o have_v a_o spirit_n of_o discern_a will_v quick_o observe_v something_o of_o that_o which_o his_o soul_n be_v take_v with_o in_o heaven_n to_o appear_v in_o his_o duty_n and_o conversation_n that_o will_v distinguish_v he_o from_o the_o careless_a and_o negligent_a christian_a yea_o take_v the_o same_o man_n when_o he_o have_v be_v converse_v with_o heaven_n and_o solace_v his_o soul_n with_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a contemplation_n and_o how_o do_v he_o excel_v not_o other_o only_a but_o himself_o also_o o_o what_o a_o difference_n be_v there_o between_o what_o he_o be_v then_o and_o what_o he_o be_v in_o his_o common_a and_o ordinary_a conversation_n for_o doubtless_o it_o may_v be_v aver_v of_o such_o a_o soul_n return_n from_o its_o contemplate_v view_v of_o that_o blissful_a state_n that_o there_o be_v such_o heavenly_a impression_n make_v upon_o it_o as_o cause_v it_o to_o ascend_v in_o frequent_a thought_n and_o ejaculation_n towards_o heaven_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o its_o earthly_a employment_n and_o to_o intermingle_v that_o which_o be_v heavenly_a with_o its_o earthly_a speech_n and_o discourse_n among_o other_o whereas_o a_o christian_a that_o be_v careless_a and_o negligent_a of_o himself_o give_v way_n to_o earthliness_n and_o vanity_n abate_v and_o lessen_v the_o exercise_v of_o his_o soul_n in_o the_o contemplation_n of_o heaven_n and_o heavenly_a thing_n he_o soon_o become_v as_o weak_a as_o vain_a and_o sometime_o as_o profane_v also_o as_o another_o man_n who_o be_v altogether_o estrange_v unto_o this_o life_n of_o heavenly_a contemplation_n the_o way_n therefore_o for_o christian_n to_o shake_v off_o their_o deadness_n and_o dulness_n in_o duty_n and_o to_o be_v rid_v of_o their_o sloathfulness_n and_o heaviness_n in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n be_v to_o betake_v themselves_o to_o heaven_n where_o christ_n who_o be_v their_o life_n and_o strength_n be_v and_o from_o whence_o alone_o all_o their_o quicken_a and_o enliven_a influence_n do_v

therefore_o we_o never_o meet_v with_o any_o command_n in_o scripture_n require_v we_o to_o be_v as_o great_a as_o wise_a or_o as_o powerful_a as_o god_n be_v but_o to_o be_v holy_a as_o god_n be_v holy_a to_o be_v perfect_a as_o our_o heavenly_a father_n be_v perfect_a and_o to_o purify_v ourselves_o as_o god_n be_v pure_a these_o we_o do_v yea_o all_o the_o command_n threaten_n and_o promise_n a_o effect_n upon_o thou_o this_o be_v as_o sure_a a_o evidence_n of_o heaven_n as_o any_o thou_o can_v have_v and_o that_o which_o can_v deceive_v thou_o for_o it_o be_v a_o earnest_n thereof_o give_v into_o thy_o soul_n before_o hand_n it_o be_v heaven_n begin_v in_o thou_o on_o earth_n for_o holiness_n and_o happiness_n grace_n and_o glory_n be_v but_o one_o and_o the_o same_o thing_n differ_v only_o in_o their_o measure_n and_o degree_n and_o wherever_o there_o be_v a_o work_n of_o grace_n begin_v in_o any_o soul_n god_n will_v carry_v it_o on_o unto_o perfection_n in_o heaven_n duration_n that_o shall_v never_o know_v a_o end_n now_o though_o in_o heaven_n there_o be_v the_o enjoyment_n of_o all_o these_o thing_n for_o there_o be_v no_o sickness_n nor_o disease_n no_o pain_n nor_o sorrow_n but_o a_o perfect_a freedom_n from_o all_o that_o be_v evil_a and_o a_o eternal_a enjoyment_n of_o what_o be_v pleasant_a and_o delightful_a yet_o these_o thing_n be_v the_o least_o and_o mean_a part_n of_o the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n it_o be_v true_a be_v there_o nothing_o more_o nothing_o great_a nor_o better_o to_o be_v enjoy_v than_o what_o these_o thing_n amount_v unto_o a_o eternity_n of_o health_n without_o sickness_n of_o pleasure_n without_o pain_n of_o delight_n without_o sorrow_n be_v a_o very_a great_a happiness_n but_o when_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o usual_a to_o say_v of_o any_o man_n that_o he_o be_v content_a to_o have_v they_o who_o say_v concern_v silver_n and_o gold_n that_o a_o man_n be_v content_a to_o be_v enrich_v with_o they_o no_o the_o common_a expression_n in_o this_o case_n be_v not_o that_o man_n be_v content_a to_o be_v rich_a but_o that_o they_o be_v covetous_a after_o riches_n and_o so_o for_o honour_n and_o outward_a greatness_n we_o say_v not_o that_o man_n be_v willing_a to_o be_v honour_v and_o advance_v above_o their_o neighbour_n but_o they_o be_v ambitious_a in_o seek_v after_o promotion_n and_o why_o then_o shall_v it_o be_v say_v of_o a_o christian_a only_o that_o he_o be_v content_a to_o be_v happy_a content_a to_o be_v with_o god_n in_o heaven_n now_o if_o worldly_a man_n desire_n work_v thus_o strong_o after_o earthly_a and_o temporal_a enjoyment_n which_o can_v make_v they_o happy_a when_o attain_v sure_o the_o desire_n of_o a_o christian_a shall_v work_v as_o strong_o after_o heavenly_a and_o eternal_a enjoyment_n which_o when_o attain_v can_v and_o will_v make_v they_o true_o and_o real_o happy_a and_o here_o i_o will_v add_v one_o thing_n let_v the_o whole_a creation_n be_v ransack_v let_v earth_n and_o heaven_n be_v search_v there_o be_v nothing_o no_o person_n no_o object_n to_o be_v find_v in_o either_o that_o can_v

know_v from_o under_o who_o own_o hand_n write_v i_o copy_v out_o this_o follow_a relation_n concern_v herself_o be_v employ_v in_o holy_a meditation_n which_o be_v both_o her_o daily_a practice_n as_o also_o her_o daily_a delight_n and_o solace_n and_o contemplate_v of_o the_o joy_n of_o heaven_n and_o how_o to_o secure_v her_o interest_n in_o that_o state_n of_o blessedness_n she_o do_v with_o great_a desire_n of_o soul_n as_o her_o own_o word_n be_v strive_v to_o take_v the_o kingdom_n above_o with_o a_o holy_a violence_n and_o to_o storm_n heaven_n by_o importunate_a prayer_n and_o god_n be_v please_v as_o she_o add_v bless_v his_o name_n to_o carry_v she_o up_o as_o it_o be_v unto_o mount_n nebo_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o give_v she_o a_o prospect_n of_o the_o heavenly_a state_n that_o have_v be_v attain_v by_o some_o and_o may_v be_v attain_v still_o by_o other_o and_o true_o such_o a_o heaven_n upon_o earth_n as_o be_v hereby_o enjoy_v by_o such_o holy_a soul_n shall_v be_v motive_n sufficient_a to_o excite_v and_o provoke_v christian_n to_o a_o diligent_a pursuit_n hereof_o the_o effect_n whereof_o be_v joy_n unspeakable_a and_o glorious_a to_o conclude_v
