engagement_n of_o those_o only_a who_o be_v full_o resolve_v to_o amend_v their_o life_n and_o become_v good_a man_n so_o that_o if_o any_o man_n persist_v impenitent_a which_o unfit_v he_o for_o receive_v he_o be_v also_o unfit_a for_o every_o thing_n else_o and_o unworthy_a to_o perform_v any_o other_o action_n of_o religion_n as_o for_o this_o business_n of_o worthy_a communicate_v then_o there_o be_v no_o more_o cause_n of_o complaint_n against_o it_o for_o the_o difficulty_n and_o hardship_n of_o it_o than_o there_o be_v against_o all_o religion_n the_o same_o duty_n that_o be_v require_v to_o a_o worthy_a receive_v be_v no_o less_o require_v to_o make_v any_o of_o we_o a_o good_a man_n to_o confer_v a_o right_n to_o heaven_n to_o a_o worthy_a prayer_n promise_v or_o thanksgiving_n so_o that_o if_o any_o man_n will_v not_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n because_o he_o be_v wicked_a and_o will_v not_o be_v at_o the_o pain_n to_o attain_v those_o virtue_n which_o be_v necessary_a to_o a_o worthy_a communion_n if_o he_o understand_v himself_o he_o must_v for_o the_o same_o reason_n keep_v back_o from_o prayer_n and_o praise_n and_o all_o pretence_n to_o religion_n for_o unless_o he_o will_v labour_v after_o these_o duty_n and_o perform_v they_o he_o be_v unmeet_a to_o come_v to_o god_n and_o be_v very_o unworthy_a in_o all_o of_o they_o and_o therefore_o so_o long_o as_o he_o be_v unfit_a for_o the_o sacrament_n he_o be_v unfit_a for_o every_o thing_n else_o and_o if_o he_o resolve_v to_o continue_v so_o may_v as_o well_o resolve_v to_o renounce_v his_o baptism_n and_o the_o whole_a christian_a profession_n and_o as_o these_o temper_n which_o be_v require_v to_o a_o worthy_a communion_n be_v no_o more_o than_o be_v require_v in_o every_o good_a man_n in_o every_o worthy_a prayer_n praise_n or_o other_o act_n of_o religion_n so_o be_v it_o to_o be_v observe_v 3_o lie_n that_o however_o they_o may_v be_v commend_v yet_o be_v they_o not_o necessary_o require_v as_o some_o have_v imagine_v in_o more_o intense_a and_o transport_v degree_n in_o it_o than_o in_o other_o instance_n of_o devotion_n that_o which_o have_v deter_v good_a people_n from_o the_o sacrament_n more_o than_o any_o thing_n beside_o be_v
neglect_v it_o and_o therefore_o if_o any_o person_n otherwise_o good_a be_v seldom_o see_v at_o the_o bless_a sacrament_n that_o be_v no_o part_n of_o their_o goodness_n but_o their_o fault_n so_o that_o therein_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v imitate_v 2._o though_o they_o may_v be_v acceptable_o good_a whilst_o through_o innocent_a scruple_n and_o hohone_a ignorance_n they_o be_v afraid_a to_o receive_v it_o yet_o will_v it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a fault_n even_o in_o they_o to_o neglect_v it_o after_o they_o be_v better_o inform_v which_o will_v not_o be_v forgive_v but_o upon_o their_o amendment_n of_o it_o a_o good_a man_n can_v indulge_v himself_o in_o any_o know_a sin_n for_o he_o cease_v to_o be_v good_a and_o acceptable_a to_o god_n if_o he_o persist_v in_o any_o of_o they_o after_o he_o be_v plain_o tell_v of_o they_o and_o his_o duty_n be_v evident_o set_v before_o he_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v reveal_v from_o heaven_n against_o all_o unrighteousness_n say_v st._n paul_n rom._n 1.18_o and_o he_o that_o break_v one_o law_n say_v st._n james_n be_v guilty_a of_o all_o i._n e._n of_o that_o eternal_a punishment_n which_o be_v denounce_v not_o bare_o to_o some_o one_o but_o to_o all_o jam._n 2.10_o so_o that_o when_o once_o this_o great_a duty_n of_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n be_v clear_o lay_v out_o and_o his_o conscience_n be_v enlighten_v and_o possess_v with_o a_o sense_n of_o it_o he_o can_v be_v no_o good_a man_n who_o wilful_o hold_v off_o still_o and_o refrain_v to_o come_v to_o it_o whilst_o he_o be_v perplex_v with_o doubt_n about_o it_o indeed_o and_o either_o through_o the_o loose_a discourse_n of_o some_o think_v himself_o not_o oblige_v or_o through_o the_o unreasonable_a rigour_n and_o severity_n of_o other_o after_o all_o his_o repentance_n and_o full_a purpose_n of_o amendment_n think_v himself_o still_o unprepared_a to_o come_v to_o it_o for_o the_o pitiableness_n of_o his_o ignorance_n and_o unwilled_a mistake_n so_o long_o as_o they_o last_v his_o neglect_n of_o it_o may_v be_v excuse_v and_o connive_v at_o but_o if_o after_o all_o his_o doubt_n have_v be_v solve_v and_o thing_n have_v be_v set_v in_o a_o clear_a light_n he_o continue_v still_o to_o slight_v it_o then_o he_o be_v guilty_a of_o a_o very_a great_a fault_n which_o will_v not_o be_v forgive_v till_o he_o repent_v and_o amends_o it_o to_o he_o that_o know_v to_o do_v good_a and_o do_v it_o not_o say_v st._n james_n to_z him_z it_o be_v sin_n jam._n 4.17_o and_o when_o any_o wilful_a sin_n stand_v charge_v on_o our_o account_n it_o will_v not_o be_v strike_v off_o till_o we_o forsake_v and_o turn_v away_o from_o it_o for_o to_o all_o such_o sinner_n god_n declaration_n be_v this_o except_o you_o repent_v you_o shall_v all_o imitate_v nay_o if_o they_o continue_v in_o this_o neglect_n after_o their_o conscience_n be_v right_o instruct_v and_o inform_v about_o it_o they_o cease_v to_o be_v good_a and_o commit_v a_o damn_v fault_n a_o impenitent_a continuance_n in_o any_o one_o know_a sin_n put_v any_o person_n out_o of_o a_o gracious_a state_n whilst_o they_o be_v hold_v back_o pure_o by_o doubt_n and_o scruple_n and_o wart_n of_o knowledge_n without_o their_o own_o fault_n their_o omission_n be_v fit_a to_o be_v connive_v at_o and_o they_o may_v continue_v acceptable_o good_a notwithstanding_o it_o but_o if_o still_o they_o persist_v in_o it_o after_o they_o know_v more_o and_o be_v better_o instruct_v they_o be_v guilty_a of_o a_o very_a criminal_a neglect_n which_o will_v not_o be_v pass_v over_o but_o upon_o the_o same_o term_n as_o all_o other_o know_v sin_n be_v i._n e._n their_o repentance_n of_o it_o if_o they_o stay_v away_o out_o of_o ignorance_n and_o mistake_v all_o they_o can_v expect_v be_v to_o be_v pity_v but_o not_o to_o be_v commend_v for_o it_o and_o if_o out_o of_o wilfulness_n after_o their_o conscience_n have_v be_v set_v right_o they_o will_v be_v severe_o punish_v unless_o they_o be_v reclaim_v from_o it_o so_o that_o no_o man_n must_v ever_o hope_v to_o justify_v himself_o in_o refrain_v the_o lord_n table_n because_o he_o have_v good_a company_n and_o know_v of_o several_a other_o who_o he_o take_v to_o be_v very_o holy_a person_n that_o be_v wont_a to_o refrain_v it_o too_o chap._n vi_o of_o two_o more_o hindrance_n the_o content_n a_o ten_o hindrance_n be_v because_o other_o who_o be_v unworthy_a of_o it_o be_v admit_v to_o join_v in_o it_o but_o 1._o they_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v forward_o in_o judge_v other_o unworthy_a lest_o they_o be_v mistake_v in_o it_o 2._o when_o some_o who_o as_o they_o have_v great_a cause_n to_o think_v be_v unworthy_a do_v receive_v yet_o ought_v not_o that_o to_o hinder_v they_o from_o join_v in_o it_o for_o if_o it_o be_v a_o sufficient_a hindrance_n it_o have_v equal_o hinder_v our_o saviour_n christ_n and_o the_o primitive_a christian_n it_o ought_v not_o only_o to_o hinder_v we_o from_o the_o communion_n but_o also_o from_o be_v member_n of_o the_o christian_a church_n and_o profession_n but_o it_o be_v plain_o of_o no_o force_n for_o either_o of_o they_o since_o one_o man_n shall_v not_o bear_v another_o but_o every_o man_n his_o own_o burden_n 3._o if_o still_o any_o be_v real_o offend_v at_o the_o communion_n of_o the_o wicked_a upon_o complaint_n make_v in_o the_o congregation_n they_o be_v to_o be_v suspend_v from_o the_o holy_a table_n and_o deny_v the_o sacrament_n a_o eleven_o hindrance_n be_v the_o gesture_n of_o kneel_v which_o be_v require_v to_o it_o when_o any_o be_v absent_a upon_o this_o account_n there_o be_v no_o excuse_n from_o it_o three_o thing_n insist_v on_o to_o prevent_v their_o be_v hinder_v by_o it_o 1._o kneel_v be_v no_o unsuitable_a posture_n in_o receive_v so_o that_o if_o we_o be_v lest_o at_o liberty_n we_o may_v have_v enough_o to_o justify_v ourselves_o in_o make_v use_n of_o it_o 2._o it_o be_v appoint_v by_o our_o governor_n who_o god_n command_v we_o to_o obey_v in_o all_o lawful_a thing_n so_o that_o every_o good_a man_n ought_v to_o observe_v it_o but_o if_o it_o neither_o have_v authority_n to_o enjoin_v nor_o reason_n to_o recommend_v it_o but_o another_o posture_n may_v be_v better_o use_v yet_o 3._o since_o it_o may_v lawful_o though_o not_o so_o well_o be_v use_v too_o for_o the_o sacrament_n sake_n which_o be_v not_o otherwise_o to_o be_v have_v we_o shall_v at_o least_o comply_v with_o it_o no_o hindrance_n to_o this_o compliance_n because_o the_o gesture_n of_o kneel_v be_v different_a from_o what_o our_o saviour_n use_v for_o so_o be_v sit_v too_o and_o therefore_o they_o and_o we_o be_v equal_o concern_v to_o answer_v it_o the_o posture_n he_o use_v be_v no_o part_n of_o the_o institution_n so_o that_o the_o institution_n be_v not_o break_v when_o the_o posture_n be_v alter_v neither_o it_o nor_o any_o other_o have_v any_o command_n of_o god_n for_o it_o so_o that_o none_o be_v necessary_a but_o all_o be_v still_o indifferent_a when_o a_o posture_n different_a from_o that_o at_o the_o first_o institution_n be_v introduce_v in_o sacrament_n our_o saviour_n himself_o and_o they_o too_o have_v submit_v to_o it_o again_o no_o hindrance_n to_o it_o from_o the_o fear_n of_o worship_v the_o bread_n or_o its_o be_v a_o popish_a rite_n a_o conclusion_n of_o this_o point_n a_o ten_o cause_n which_o many_o person_n be_v wont_n to_o assign_v for_o their_o absent_v from_o this_o feast_n be_v because_o other_o who_o be_v unworthy_a of_o it_o be_v admit_v to_o join_v in_o it_o though_o this_o be_v a_o very_a good_a thing_n yet_o they_o fear_v they_o shall_v give_v offence_n in_o do_v it_o with_o all_o partner_n and_o how_o worthy_a soever_o they_o may_v be_v in_o themselves_o will_v be_v defile_v by_o the_o unworthiness_n of_o other_o so_o that_o unless_o they_o can_v receive_v in_o a_o unmixed_a company_n and_o only_o with_o the_o pure_a and_o true_a believer_n they_o think_v best_a
