if_o it_o be_v restore_v unto_o he_o in_o the_o very_a beginning_n and_o act_n of_o his_o repentance_n from_o whence_o do_v that_o appear_v sure_o i_o be_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n in_o scripture_n for_o to_o warrant_v it_o and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o than_o it_o follow_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n may_v be_v restore_v unto_o man_n before_o their_o actual_a repentance_n which_o you_o deny_v because_o the_o very_a beginning_n of_o repentance_n or_o a_o thought_n to_o repent_v be_v no_o perfect_a actual_a repentance_n no_o such_o repentance_n as_o you_o require_v to_o regain_v the_o spirit_n and_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o therefore_o see_v that_o the_o scripture_n inform_v we_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n abide_v and_o dwell_v in_o man_n heart_n and_o soul_n for_o ever_o john_n 14._o 15._o 16_o and_o 1_o john_n 1._o 20._o 27._o we_o may_v safe_o say_v that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n be_v never_o take_v away_o from_o david_n but_o continue_v in_o he_o still_o again_o to_o what_o end_n shall_v this_o prayer_n of_o david_n serve_v if_o god_n have_v now_o restore_v his_o spirit_n to_o he_o he_o have_v as_o yet_o commit_v no_o such_o sin_n since_o the_o restitution_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o he_o as_o may_v cause_n god_n to_o deprive_v he_o of_o it_o and_o therefore_o this_o prayer_n of_o his_o be_v not_o so_o fit_v to_o the_o purpose_n in_o this_o sense_n therefore_o we_o must_v take_v it_o in_o the_o ap●…st_a sense_n and_o as_o david_n do_v intend_v it_o david_n he_o be_v afraid_a leave_v god_n shall_v deprive_v he_o of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n for_o those_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v against_o he_o before_o and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n and_o ground_n of_o this_o his_o prayer_n now_o therefore_o this_o his_o prayer_n and_o the_o whole_a psalm_n have_v reference_n only_o to_o his_o former_a and_o not_o to_o his_o future_a sin_n it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o this_o prayer_n of_o david_n extend_v mere_o to_o the_o spirit_n which_o he_o have_v before_o his_o sin_n commit_v and_o not_o to_o the_o spirit_n new_o restore_v to_o he_o
