before_o the_o disciple_n eye_n 3._o howsoever_o christ_n have_v ordain_v sundry_a degree_n of_o office-bearer_n in_o his_o house_n yet_o he_o will_v have_v no_o majority_n of_o power_n of_o any_o one_o over_o the_o rest_n of_o that_o office_n but_o will_v have_v man_n so_o far_o from_o affect_v of_o it_o as_o a_o young_a child_n be_v who_o know_v not_o what_o strive_v for_o state_n do_v mean_a youth_n that_o he_o may_v have_v life_n 3._o the_o natural_a man_n be_v utter_o ignorant_a of_o justification_n by_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o incline_v to_o seek_v justification_n by_o work_n for_o he_o say_v what_o good_a thing_n shall_v i_o do_v that_o i_o may_v have_v eternal_a life_n 4._o the_o natural_a man_n presume_v on_o his_o own_o strength_n as_o able_a to_o do_v whatsoever_o good_a work_n can_v be_v prescribe_v unto_o he_o for_o what_o shall_v i_o do_v say_v he_o 5._o a_o natural_a man_n may_v seem_v to_o have_v a_o good_a estimation_n of_o christ_n and_o call_v he_o good_a master_n and_o make_v fair_a offer_n to_o serve_v god_n and_o follow_v the_o command_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o he_o find_v void_a of_o all_o real_a truth_n herein_o which_o to_o himself_o and_o other_o he_o seem_v to_o have_v as_o in_o this_o man_n be_v find_v ver._n 17._o and_o he_o say_v unto_o he_o why_o calleâ—â—_n thou_o i_o good_a there_o be_v none_o good_a but_o one_o that_o be_v work_n must_v be_v teach_v that_o to_o keep_v the_o whole_a law_n in_o all_o point_n without_o the_o least_o sin_n be_v the_o only_a way_n to_o heaven_n by_o work_n which_o way_n to_o every_o man_n from_o my_o youth_n up_o 3._o all_o the_o righteousness_n that_o a_o natural_a man_n can_v conceive_v himself_o to_o have_v attain_v unto_o will_v not_o give_v true_a quietness_n to_o his_o conscience_n for_o this_o youth_n for_o all_o this_o be_v ask_v what_o lack_v i_o yet_o ver._n 21._o jesus_n say_v unto_o he_o if_o thou_o will_v be_v perfect_a go_v and_o sell_v that_o thou_o have_v every_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o bestow_v as_o god_n direct_v all_o which_o god_n have_v give_v unto_o he_o good_n land_n and_o life_n when_o he_o be_v call_v by_o god_n unto_o it_o and_o therefore_o christ_n give_v not_o here_o a_o simple_a counsel_n to_o this_o man_n but_o a_o special_a command_n to_o renounce_v the_o love_n of_o riches_n which_o be_v his_o idol_n and_o to_o bestow_v his_o good_n as_o he_o be_v command_v and_o that_o upon_o promise_n of_o more_o durable_a riches_n in_o heaven_n that_o so_o he_o may_v make_v the_o man_n who_o will_v appear_v perfect_a to_o be_v see_v a_o gross_a worshipper_n of_o mammon_n for_o sell_v and_o give_v to_o the_o poor_a be_v a_o particular_a and_o express_a command_n give_v to_o this_o man_n 3._o presuppose_v a_o man_n upon_o a_o special_a command_n sell_v all_o and_o distribute_v all_o to_o the_o poor_a as_o be_v command_v to_o this_o man_n yet_o unto_o the_o perfect_a of_o he_o there_o will_v be_v require_v more_o to_o wit_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v a_o follower_n of_o christ_n enter_v himself_o christ_n disciple_n deny_v himself_o take_v up_o his_o cross_n and_o follow_v christ_n that_o so_o he_o may_v have_v righteousness_n and_o life_n eternal_a by_o he_o alone_o for_o it_o be_v here_o write_v if_o thou_o will_v be_v perfect_a not_o only_o sell_v all_o etc._n etc._n but_o also_o and_o come_v and_o follow_v i_o ver._n 22._o but_o when_o the_o young_a man_n hear_v that_o say_n he_o go_v away_o sorrowful_a for_o he_o have_v great_a possession_n the_o young_a man_n have_v no_o will_n of_o this_o bless_a bargain_n but_o go_v away_o sorrowful_a in_o the_o example_n learn_v 1._o how_o trial_n do_v bring_v man_n forth_o to_o the_o light_n and_o make_v they_o manifest_v what_o they_o be_v as_o here_o this_o youth_n especial_o if_o he_o be_v a_o great_a man_n in_o the_o world_n therefore_o it_o be_v mark_v that_o he_o have_v great_a possession_n 3._o a_o natural_a man_n may_v be_v sorrowful_a when_o he_o can_v with_o heaven_n in_o his_o own_o way_n when_o he_o can_v get_v heaven_n and_o his_o own_o will_n in_o this_o world_n also_o for_o it_o be_v say_v he_o go_v away_o sorrowful_a ver._n 23._o then_o say_v jesus_n unto_o his_o disciple_n very_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o that_o a_o rich_a man_n shall_v hardly_o enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n 24._o and_o again_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o it_o be_v natural_a corruption_n which_o iâ—_n in_o man_n ready_a to_o entangle_v and_o drown_v the_o man_n mind_n and_o his_o time_n and_o affection_n in_o the_o world_n and_o care_n and_o pleasure_n of_o it_o therefore_o say_v christ_n a_o rich_a man_n shall_v hardly_o enter_v in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n 3._o whatsoever_o difficulty_n be_v tell_v we_o of_o in_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n they_o serve_v only_o to_o make_v we_o despair_v of_o our_o own_o strength_n and_o ability_n and_o to_o flee_v in_o unto_o god_n to_o who_o nothing_o be_v impossible_a for_o he_o can_v â—o_o loose_v the_o fail_v to_o malign_v envy_n traduce_v and_o injure_v to_o his_o power_n the_o more_o painful_a and_o faithful_a his_o fellow-servant_n be_v for_o he_o smile_v his_o fellow_n servant_n 3._o one_o way_n own_o and_o other_o estimation_n 3._o as_o among_o the_o virgin_n in_o the_o parable_n so_o in_o the_o visible_a church_n all_o be_v not_o wise_a christian_n but_o some_o wise_a and_o real_o such_o as_o they_o profess_v themselves_o to_o be_v other_o be_v counterfeit_a christian_n and_o foolish_a 4._o as_o among_o the_o virgin_n in_o the_o parable_n so_o in_o the_o visible_a church_n only_o these_o be_v wise_a who_o with_o the_o outward_a lamp_n of_o open_a profession_n labour_v to_o be_v furnish_v inward_o with_o the_o save_a grace_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n namely_o faith_n work_v by_o love_n and_o repentance_n mortify_v their_o sinful_a lust_n that_o in_o newness_n of_o life_n they_o may_v glorify_v god_n but_o whoso_o be_v destitute_a of_o inward_a grace_n in_o their_o heart_n they_o be_v foolish_a for_o the_o lamp_n of_o their_o outward_a profession_n without_o oil_n do_v serve_v to_o no_o purpose_n when_o matter_n come_v to_o a_o trial_n 5._o as_o in_o the_o parable_n the_o bridegroom_n come_v when_o they_o be_v not_o aware_a so_o will_v christ_n come_v unto_o judgement_n in_o a_o day_n and_o hour_n that_o man_n know_v not_o 6._o as_o in_o the_o parable_n among_o who_o they_o have_v live_v but_o every_o man_n shall_v be_v judge_v according_a to_o that_o which_o be_v within_o he_o 8._o as_o in_o the_o parable_n the_o self-conceit_n of_o the_o virgin_n ver_fw-la 11_o 12._o help_v not_o they_o so_o the_o opinion_n which_o unrenew_v person_n within_o the_o visible_a church_n have_v of_o their_o interest_n in_o christ_n their_o vain_a confidence_n to_o be_v watchful_a now_o and_o to_o examine_v well_o our_o own_o case_n and_o to_o see_v that_o we_o be_v sure_a of_o the_o inward_a anoint_v of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n whereby_o we_o be_v make_v indeed_o holy_a be_v the_o only_a way_n to_o be_v certain_a of_o our_o salvation_n when_o christ_n come_v to_o judgement_n for_o this_o use_n christ_n command_v we_o to_o make_v of_o the_o parable_n say_v watch_v therefore_o ver._n 14._o for_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v as_o a_o man_n travel_v into_o a_o far_a country_n who_o call_v his_o own_o servant_n and_o deliver_v unto_o they_o
