or_o speak_v to_o another_o of_o that_o name_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n compare_v the_o write_a word_n with_o the_o voice_n from_o heaven_n call_v it_o to_o sinner_n a_o more_o sure_a word_n 2._o as_o this_o world_n be_v so_o dark_a a_o place_n that_o our_o own_o reason_n the_o counsel_n or_o example_n of_o other_o will_v often_o leave_v we_o comfortless_o to_o wander_v and_o fall_v in_o snare_n except_o we_o look_v to_o the_o light_n of_o the_o word_n which_o shine_v in_o this_o dark_a place_n so_o they_o have_v the_o lord_n approbation_n and_o commendation_n who_o do_v apply_v their_o heart_n to_o and_o satisfy_v themselves_o with_o this_o word_n as_o the_o only_a and_o sufficient_a ground_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o rule_v of_o their_o manner_n to_o keep_v they_o from_o confusion_n and_o difficulty_n and_o these_o who_o make_v it_o a_o lamp_n to_o their_o foot_n and_o a_o light_n to_o their_o path_n may_v be_v sure_a to_o get_v at_o last_o such_o a_o clear_a and_o satisfactory_a sight_n of_o christ_n as_o shall_v banish_v all_o darkness_n and_o doubt_n and_o such_o a_o near_a union_n and_o fellowship_n with_o he_o the_o bright_a morningstar_n glorious_o direction_n and_o comfort_n do_v add_v here_o that_o as_o they_o will_v find_v these_o they_o must_v know_v this_o first_o that_o it_o be_v not_o of_o any_o private_a interpretation_n and_o though_o only_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n the_o author_n of_o the_o scripture_n can_v full_o persuade_v heart_n that_o they_o be_v his_o mind_n yet_o if_o man_n will_v consider_v that_o a_o great_a many_o of_o these_o truth_n that_o be_v reveal_v in_o scripture_n be_v not_o only_o agreeable_a to_o natures-light_n but_o may_v be_v in_o some_o measure_n know_v by_o it_o the_o one_o to_o wit_n the_o light_n of_o nature_n teach_v that_o there_o be_v one_o god_n the_o first_o cause_n of_o all_o omnipotent_a wise_a righteous_a and_o good_a that_o it_o be_v reasonable_a he_o shall_v be_v serve_v and_o that_o according_a to_o his_o own_o will_n which_o therefore_o he_o be_v both_o wise_a and_o good_a must_v have_v some_o way_n reveal_v that_o reasonable_a creature_n have_v immortal_a soul_n and_o so_o die_v not_o as_o the_o beast_n that_o there_o be_v no_o true_a happiness_n in_o these_o thing_n wherein_o man_n do_v ordinary_o seek_v it_o that_o since_o vice_n and_o virtue_n for_o since_o they_o have_v slight_v the_o usemaking_a of_o christ_n righteousness_n which_o make_v sinner_n righteous_a and_o the_o study_n of_o holiness_n which_o prove_v they_o righteous_a they_o their_o sin_n do_v stain_v a_o holy_a profession_n that_o they_o have_v make_v before_o the_o world_n for_o if_o these_o man_n have_v not_o have_v a_o fair_a profession_n and_o high_a esteem_n in_o the_o church_n they_o can_v not_o have_v be_v spot_n and_o blemish_n while_o they_o feast_v with_o the_o lord_n people_n which_o be_v here_o make_v another_o aggravation_n of_o their_o guilt_n 4._o when_o man_n do_v not_o only_o live_v in_o sin_n but_o do_v make_v a_o sport_n of_o it_o beguile_v their_o own_o heart_n with_o groundless_a apprehension_n that_o there_o be_v neither_o such_o evil_a nor_o hazard_n therein_o as_o the_o word_n hold_v forth_o and_o their_o own_o conscience_n sometime_o sugge_v for_o this_o be_v another_o aggravation_n they_o sport_v themselves_o in_o their_o own_o deceive_n 5._o when_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n of_o their_o live_n in_o the_o slavery_n of_o their_o lust_n they_o be_v careful_a to_o keep_v up_o their_o esteem_n with_o the_o godly_a and_o attend_v all_o occasion_n of_o converse_n with_o they_o that_o so_o they_o may_v cloak_v their_o sin_n for_o it_o be_v here_o make_v another_o aggravation_n of_o their_o guilt_n that_o all_o this_o wickedness_n be_v commit_v while_o they_o feast_v with_o the_o lord_n people_n 6._o when_o man_n lust_n be_v so_o vigorous_a within_o that_o they_o manifest_v their_o predominancy_n in_o their_o very_a outward_a carriage_n for_o this_o be_v a_o further_a aggravation_n of_o their_o sin_n they_o have_v eye_n full_a of_o adultery_n 7._o when_o man_n become_v so_o impotent_a to_o resist_v their_o lust_n that_o the_o satisfy_n thereof_o become_v their_o very_a element_n out_o of_o which_o they_o can_v rest_v as_o the_o word_n here_o signify_v they_o can_v cease_v from_o sin_n which_o be_v also_o another_o aggravation_n of_o their_o guilt_n 8._o when_o sinner_n become_v infectious_a and_o ensnare_a with_o the_o bait_n as_o the_o word_n beguile_v in_o the_o original_a signify_v of_o fair_a pretence_n many_o other_o to_o swallow_v down_o their_o foul_a error_n and_o profane_a practice_n this_o also_o be_v a_o high_a aggravation_n of_o their_o guilt_n 9_o when_o man_n make_v it_o their_o heart-exercise_n whereabout_o they_o spend_v their_o wit_n and_o affection_n to_o fulfil_v their_o fleshly_a desire_n for_o this_o be_v here_o the_o last_o aggravation_n of_o their_o sin_n a_o heart_n they_o have_v exercise_v with_o covetous_a practice_n doct._n 4._o although_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o the_o lord_n people_n may_v without_o guiltiness_n admit_v into_o their_o ordinary_a and_o intimate_a society_n the_o worst_a of_o man_n while_o they_o do_v not_o discover_v themselves_o as_o be_v clear_a concern_v ahithophel_n and_o judas_n yet_o do_v the_o admission_n of_o such_o into_o their_o society_n oftentimes_o prove_v a_o great_a snare_n especial_o to_o those_o that_o be_v admit_v while_o they_o take_v occasion_n therefrom_o to_o harden_v themselves_o in_o those_o sin_n and_o to_o count_v the_o less_o of_o that_o vileness_n the_o commission_n whereof_o do_v not_o mar_v their_o esteem_n and_o society_n with_o the_o godly_a for_o this_o be_v one_o thing_n that_o help_v these_o soul-deceiver_n to_o deceive_v themselves_o and_o willing_o to_o overlook_v the_o evil_n of_o their_o own_o condition_n that_o notwithstanding_o of_o all_o their_o wickedness_n they_o be_v admit_v to_o the_o society_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o do_v pass_v among_o they_o for_o such_o while_o they_o feast_v with_o you_o 5._o when_o man_n labour_v not_o to_o mortify_v their_o inward_a lust_n the_o lord_n oftentimes_o do_v just_o suffer_v they_o to_o manifest_v the_o predominancy_n of_o these_o lust_n over_o they_o in_o their_o outward_a carriage_n as_o grace_v which_o be_v lively_o within_o will_v put_v some_o beauty_n upon_o the_o outward_a man_n eccl._n 8.1_o so_o corruption_n vigorous_a within_o will_n ready_o bewray_v the_o person_n to_o be_v its_o slave_n isa_n 3.9_o have_v eye_n full_a of_o adultery_n or_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o original_a of_o the_o adulteress_n 6._o so_o bewitch_a be_v the_o spirit_n of_o error_n where_o it_o enter_v and_o so_o devote_v be_v delude_v soul_n unto_o their_o seduce_a teacher_n that_o though_o these_o teacher_n be_v judicial_o plague_v of_o god_n as_o ordinary_o such_o be_v with_o profanity_n of_o life_n yet_o this_o do_v not_o make_v their_o follower_n loath_a at_o they_o or_o abhor_v their_o error_n for_o though_o they_o do_v riot_n in_o the_o day_n time_n and_o have_v eye_n full_a of_o adultery_n yet_o be_v they_o still_o beguile_v unstable_a soul_n 7._o those_o who_o be_v not_o root_v in_o knowledge_n by_o clear_a information_n and_o frequent_a meditation_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o have_v not_o their_o heart_n establish_v with_o grace_n by_o the_o frequent_a exercise_n thereof_o will_v ready_o be_v a_o prey_n to_o soul-deceiver_n for_o these_o who_o they_o beguile_v be_v here_o call_v unstable_a soul_n 8._o no_o man_n do_v serve_v one_o idol_n alone_o but_o many_o at_o once_o he_o that_o be_v wed_v to_o worldly_a pleasure_n will_v be_v also_o to_o his_o creditâ—_n the_o want_n whereof_o do_v mar_v his_o pleasure_n and_o if_o pleasure_n and_o credit_n be_v two_o of_o a_o man_n idol_n ready_o gain_n will_v be_v the_o three_o that_o so_o he_o may_v the_o more_o easy_o attain_v to_o the_o other_o two_o
