lord_n which_o be_o but_o dust_n and_o ash_n he_o do_v not_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o small_a matter_n to_o come_v and_o pray_v to_o god_n and_o speak_v to_o god_n as_o too_o many_o poor_a creature_n do_v that_o come_v to_o god_n without_o that_o reverence_n of_o he_o in_o their_o heart_n and_o such_o a_o gesture_n in_o their_o body_n both_o public_o and_o in_o their_o family_n and_o closet_n as_o become_v person_n in_o their_o draw_v nigh_o to_o god_n by_o prayer_n and_o so_o solomon_n press_v we_o to_o reverence_n and_o fear_v upon_o this_o account_n eccles_n 5.2_o be_v not_o those_o of_o old_a do_v when_o they_o speak_v to_o god_n and_o oh_o that_o the_o consideration_n of_o god_n greatness_n and_o that_o vast_a disproportion_n that_o be_v between_o he_o &_o we_o be_v more_o upon_o our_o heart_n that_o so_o we_o may_v fear_v before_o he_o continual_o and_o so_o i_o shall_v come_v in_o the_o five_o place_n to_o speak_v to_o this_o fear_n of_o god_n with_o respect_n to_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o and_o the_o fruit_n and_o effect_n of_o it_o which_o be_v set_v forth_o in_o the_o description_n by_o two_o thing_n first_o a_o think_v high_o of_o god_n in_o all_o his_o attribute_n second_o a_o have_a respect_n to_o all_o his_o commandment_n 1_o this_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v that_o whereby_o the_o soul_n be_v make_v to_o think_v high_o of_o god_n in_o all_o his_o attribute_n it_o bring_v a_o soul_n to_o think_v high_o of_o god_n name_n which_o be_v his_o attribute_n see_v it_o in_o david_n a_o man_n fear_v god_n psal_n 111.9_o 10._o holy_a and_o reverent_a be_v his_o name_n and_o he_o subjoin_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n etc._n etc._n 2_o this_o fear_n of_o god_n cause_v the_o soul_n to_o have_v respect_n to_o all_o god_n commandment_n the_o man_n that_o true_o fear_v god_n he_o tremble_v at_o the_o word_n of_o god_n have_v god_n say_v it_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v say_v the_o poor_a humble_a soul_n what_o ever_o it_o be_v that_o god_n command_v though_o it_o bring_v never_o so_o much_o loss_n or_o shame_n or_o suffer_v upon_o i_o yet_o if_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v in_o my_o heart_n i_o shall_v do_v it_o a_o soul_n that_o true_o fear_v god_n will_v endeavour_v to_o avoid_v in_o thought_n word_n or_o deed_n what_o ever_o offend_v god_n and_o dishonour_v god_n as_o he_o will_v avoid_v hell_n and_o therefore_o solomon_n tell_v we_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v to_o depart_v from_o evil_a prov._n 3.7_o yea_o to_o hate_n evil_a prov._n 8.13_o and_o therefore_o take_v a_o soul_n that_o have_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n upon_o his_o heart_n and_o he_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o dreadful_a thing_n to_o sin_n against_o god_n and_o to_o dishonour_n god_n in_o thought_n word_n or_o deed_n and_o therefore_o as_o much_o as_o may_v be_v such_o a_o soul_n will_v avoid_v the_o occasion_n of_o sin_n you_o may_v see_v it_o in_o agur_n in_o prov._n 30.8_o 9_o say_v he_o give_v i_o neither_o poverty_n nor_o riches_n and_o why_o because_o both_o those_o state_n be_v dangerous_a temptation_n to_o sin_n against_o god_n and_o the_o best_a way_n to_o avoid_v the_o sin_n be_v to_o avoid_v the_o temptation_n but_o alas_o how_o many_o be_v there_o in_o this_o our_o day_n that_o be_v bold_a and_o venturous_a upon_o temptation_n that_o will_v rush_v in_o upon_o they_o without_o fear_n how_o few_o be_v there_o that_o have_v this_o in_o their_o prayer_n to_o god_n lord_n give_v i_o not_o riches_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a how_o do_v many_o run_v into_o multitude_n of_o business_n in_o the_o world_n which_o so_o take_v up_o their_o time_n and_o heart_n that_o they_o be_v not_o fit_a to_o serve_v god_n in_o their_o generation_n not_o consider_v that_o of_o our_o saviour_n how_o hardly_o shall_v they_o that_o have_v riches_n enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n it_o teach_v the_o soul_n to_o avoid_v the_o occasion_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o abstain_v from_o all_o appearance_n of_o evil_a according_a to_o that_o of_o paul_n in_o 1_o thess_n 5.22_o and_o sure_o if_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v not_o to_o be_v lead_v into_o temptation_n than_o we_o be_v not_o to_o lead_v ourselves_o into_o temptation_n but_o first_o to_o seek_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o the_o righteousness_n thereof_o and_o all_o these_o thing_n shall_v be_v add_v unto_o you_o and_o thus_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n teach_v to_o abstain_v from_o what_o god_n have_v forbid_v and_o to_o do_v what_o god_n have_v require_v to_o think_v high_o of_o god_n in_o all_o his_o attribute_n and_o to_o have_v respect_n to_o all_o his_o commandment_n and_o thus_o you_o have_v the_o description_n open_v and_o prove_v concern_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n i_o can_v come_v to_o the_o other_o duty_n of_o give_v glory_n to_o his_o name_n and_o therefore_o shall_v make_v some_o application_n of_o what_o have_v be_v
