great_a and_o honour_n never_o so_o glorious_a yet_o the_o faithful_a soul_n know_v that_o the_o world_n promise_v much_o and_o perform_v little_a and_o it_o cozen_v we_o but_o the_o lord_n be_v true_a in_o all_o his_o promise_n and_o what_o he_o have_v promise_v the_o soul_n believe_v therefore_o say_v he_o though_o my_o sense_n and_o taste_v and_o all_o fail_v and_o if_o many_o sorrow_n wind_n last_v he_o stay_v it_o out_o but_o now_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o hold_v up_o his_o head_n unless_o he_o be_v lift_v up_o by_o the_o chin_n and_o by_o the_o comfort_n of_o his_o profession_n but_o he_o that_o be_v a_o gracious_a man_n though_o all_o the_o frame_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n stagger_v yet_o he_o be_v support_v and_o bear_v up_o himself_o upon_o the_o promise_n profession_n of_o religion_n and_o yet_o though_o he_o be_v somewhat_o stout_a in_o his_o way_n yet_o his_o heart_n be_v naught_o too_o and_o that_o you_o may_v know_v he_o and_o that_o he_o may_v know_v himself_o let_v we_o do_v three_o thing_n first_o let_v we_o see_v what_o he_o can_v say_v for_o himself_o second_o wherein_o his_o falseness_n appear_v and_o the_o evidence_n of_o it_o three_o labour_n and_o therefore_o this_o be_v his_o comfort_n he_o hope_v it_o be_v good_a and_o of_o the_o right_a kind_n for_o say_v he_o the_o lord_n have_v open_v my_o eye_n to_o see_v myself_o and_o to_o discover_v my_o sin_n unto_o myself_o and_o make_v know_v the_o vileness_n of_o my_o sin_n and_o my_o misery_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o same_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v as_o a_o after_o a_o saviour_n what_o not_o desire_v heaven_n how_o then_o can_v i_o dream_v or_o think_v that_o god_n will_v show_v mercy_n to_o my_o soul_n in_o the_o pardon_n of_o my_o sin_n if_o no_o desire_n no_o christ_n no_o desire_n no_o heaven_n but_o i_o have_v no_o desire_n therefore_o no_o heaven_n no_o christ_n no_o happiness_n the_o lord_n settle_v these_o thing_n upon_o your_o soul_n give_v audience_n and_o attendance_n and_o acceptance_n and_o entertainment_n to_o these_o base_a course_n nay_o they_o invite_v they_o and_o provide_v for_o they_o nay_o they_o bestow_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o cost_n for_o the_o entertainment_n of_o their_o lust_n they_o seek_v out_o occasion_n to_o commit_v their_o sin_n the_o adulterer_n go_v in_o the_o twilight_n to_o meet_v his_o quean_n and_o the_o drunkard_n go_v to_o the_o alehouse_n to_o meet_v with_o his_o base_a companion_n thus_o they_o invite_v their_o lust_n and_o provide_v for_o their_o lust_n this_o be_v that_o the_o apostle_n dissuade_v we_o from_o 13.14_o rom._n 13.14_o make_v no_o provision_n for_o the_o flesh_n to_o fulfil_v the_o lust_n thereof_o yet_o these_o man_n make_v provision_n for_o their_o base_a lust_n their_o mind_n be_v plot_v and_o their_o endeavour_n labour_v to_o provide_v all_o course_n that_o may_v give_v entertainment_n to_o their_o lust_n therefore_o no_o marvel_n they_o find_v such_o long_a continuance_n in_o their_o sin_n because_o they_o make_v such_o provision_n for_o they_o but_o now_o if_o you_o will_v observe_v how_o these_o man_n entertain_v christ_n you_o may_v discover_v it_o by_o these_o two_o passage_n passage_n 1_o first_o observe_v how_o they_o entertain_v the_o power_n of_o christ_n spirit_n in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n and_o second_o how_o they_o entertain_v the_o presence_n of_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o child_n first_o concern_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n if_o it_o be_v so_o that_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n come_v powerful_o home_o to_o the_o conscience_n and_o will_v open_v the_o eye_n and_o awaken_v the_o heart_n of_o ungodly_a man_n and_o will_v pluck_v they_o from_o their_o sin_n oh_o what_o a_o uproar_n there_o be_v and_o how_o do_v man_n take_v up_o arm_n against_o the_o truth_n and_o beat_v off_o the_o power_n of_o the_o word_n that_o it_o may_v not_o prevail_v with_o the_o heart_n and_o awaken_v they_o and_o that_o it_o may_v not_o rule_v in_o their_o life_n christ_n note_v such_o as_o these_o for_o opposer_n of_o goodness_n 19.27_o luke_n 19.27_o bring_v hither_o my_o enemy_n that_o will_v not_o that_o i_o shall_v reign_v over_o they_o and_o slay_v they_o before_o my_o face_n the_o word_n will_v pluck_v the_o cup_n from_o the_o drunkard_n mouth_n and_o the_o adulterer_n from_o enjoy_v his_o dalliance_n with_o his_o mate_n but_o their_o heart_n swell_v and_o they_o groan_n to_o be_v under_o that_o truth_n and_o under_o the_o rule_n thereof_o and_o to_o the_o damsel_n that_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o divination_n meet_v he_o and_o the_o devil_n say_v these_o man_n be_v the_o servant_n of_o the_o most_o high_a god_n which_o show_v unto_o we_o the_o way_n of_o salvation_n the_o devil_n acknowledge_v that_o this_o be_v the_o word_n and_o the_o very_a truth_n the_o devil_n acknowledge_v these_o be_v the_o service_n which_o god_n command_v and_o
