at_o that_o time_n insensible_a of_o the_o small_a and_o our_o exceed_a great_a business_n be_v apt_a to_o make_v we_o utter_o neglect_v and_o forget_v those_o that_o be_v exceed_o small_a and_o o_o what_o nothing_o be_v the_o best_a and_o great_a of_o the_o creature_n in_o comparison_n of_o god_n and_o what_o toy_n and_o trifle_n be_v all_o our_o other_o business_n in_o the_o world_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o business_n which_o we_o have_v with_o he_o but_o i_o have_v be_v stop_v in_o these_o admiration_n by_o consider_v that_o the_o wise_a creator_n have_v fit_v and_o order_v all_o his_o creature_n according_a to_o the_o use_n which_o he_o design_v they_o to_o and_o therefore_o as_o the_o eye_n must_v be_v receptive_a only_o of_o so_o much_o light_n as_o be_v proportion_v to_o its_o use_n and_o pleasure_n and_o must_v be_v so_o distant_a from_o the_o sun_n that_o its_o light_n may_v rather_o guide_v than_o blind_v we_o and_o its_o heat_n may_v rather_o quicken_v than_o consume_v we_o so_o god_n have_v make_v our_o understanding_n capable_a of_o no_o other_o knowledge_n of_o he_o here_o than_o what_o be_v suit_v to_o the_o work_n of_o holiness_n and_o while_o we_o have_v flesh_n and_o fleshly_a work_n to_o do_v and_o lawful_a necessary_a business_n in_o the_o world_n in_o which_o god_n own_o command_n employ_v we_o our_o soul_n in_o this_o lantern_n of_o the_o body_n must_v see_v he_o through_o so_o thick_a a_o glass_n as_o shall_v so_o far_o allay_v our_o apprehension_n as_o not_o to_o distract_v we_o and_o take_v we_o off_o the_o work_n which_o he_o we_o and_o his_o love_n may_v be_v so_o reveal_v as_o to_o quicken_v our_o desire_n and_o draw_v we_o on_o to_o a_o better_a state_n but_o not_o so_o as_o to_o make_v we_o utter_o impatient_a of_o this_o world_n and_o utter_o weary_a of_o our_o life_n or_o to_o swallow_v we_o up_o or_o possess_v we_o of_o our_o most_o desire_a happiness_n before_o we_o arrive_v at_o the_o state_n of_o happiness_n while_o the_o soul_n be_v in_o the_o body_n it_o make_v so_o much_o use_v of_o the_o body_n the_o brain_n and_o spirit_n in_o all_o be_v operation_n that_o our_o wise_a and_o merciful_a creator_n and_o governor_n do_v respect_v the_o body_n as_o well_o as_o the_o soul_n in_o his_o order_n dispose_n and_o represent_v of_o the_o object_n of_o those_o operation_n so_o that_o when_o i_o consider_v that_o certain_o all_o man_n will_v be_v distract_v if_o their_o apprehension_n of_o god_n be_v anywhit_o answerable_a to_o the_o greatness_n of_o his_o majesty_n and_o glory_n the_o brain_n be_v not_o able_a to_o bear_v such_o high_a operation_n of_o the_o soul_n nor_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o passion_n which_o will_v necessary_o follow_v it_o much_o reconcile_v my_o wonder_a mind_n to_o the_o wise_a and_o gracious_a providence_n of_o god_n even_o in_o set_v innocent_a nature_n itself_o at_o such_o a_o distance_n from_o his_o glory_n allow_v we_o the_o presence_n of_o such_o grace_n as_o be_v necessary_a to_o bring_v we_o up_o to_o glory_n though_o it_o reconcile_v i_o not_o to_o that_o doleful_a distance_n which_o be_v introduce_v by_o sin_n and_o which_o be_v delight_n if_o they_o have_v but_o such_o a_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o be_v equal_a to_o sight_n it_o be_v no_o thanks_o to_o the_o persecutor_n to_o forbear_v his_o cruelty_n against_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n if_o he_o see_v christ_n come_v with_o his_o glorious_a angel_n to_o take_v vengeance_n on_o they_o that_o know_v not_o god_n and_o obey_v not_o the_o gospel_n and_o to_o be_v admire_v in_o his_o saint_n and_o glorify_v in_o they_o that_o now_o believe_v 2_o thes._n 1._o 7_o 8_o 9_o 10._o i_o deny_v not_o but_o this_o happy_o necessitate_a holiness_n be_v best_a in_o itself_o and_o therefore_o will_v be_v our_o state_n in_o heaven_n but_o what_o be_v there_o of_o trial_n in_o it_o or_o how_o can_v it_o be_v suitable_a to_o the_o state_n of_o man_n that_o must_v have_v good_a and_o evil_a set_v before_o he_o and_o life_n and_o death_n leave_v to_o his_o choice_n and_o that_o must_v conquer_v if_o he_o will_v be_v crown_v and_o approve_v his_o fidelity_n to_o his_o creator_n against_o competitor_n and_o must_v live_v a_o rewardable_a life_n before_o he_o have_v the_o reward_n but_o though_o in_o this_o life_n we_o may_v neither_o hope_v for_o nor_o desire_n such_o overwhelm_a sensible_a apprehension_n of_o god_n as_o the_o rest_n of_o our_o faculty_n can_v answer_v nor_o our_o body_n bear_v yet_o that_o our_o apprehension_n of_o he_o shall_v be_v so_o base_a and_o small_a and_o dull_a and_o unconstant_a as_o to_o by_o bear_v down_o by_o the_o noise_n of_o worldly_a business_n or_o by_o the_o presence_n of_o any_o creature_n or_o by_o the_o tempt_a bait_n of_o sensuality_n this_o be_v the_o more_o odious_a by_o how_o much_o god_n be_v more_o great_a and_o glorious_a than_o the_o creature_n and_o even_o because_o the_o use_n of_o the_o creature_n itself_o be_v but_o to_o reveal_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o have_v such_o sleight_n and_o stupid_a thought_n of_o he_o as_o will_v not_o carry_v we_o on_o in_o
