the_o man_n christ_n jesus_n here_o at_o the_o very_a first_o arise_v a_o difficulty_n for_o in_o every_o intercession_n there_o be_v three_o party_n the_o person_n offend_v the_o person_n offend_v the_o intercessor_n distinct_a from_o they_o both_o now_o if_o christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n make_v intercession_n to_o god_n for_o man_n than_o he_o make_v intercession_n to_o himself_o because_o he_o be_v true_a god_n which_o can_v be_v how_o then_o shall_v christ_n be_v mediator_n ans._n this_o point_n have_v so_o trouble_v the_o church_n of_o rome_n that_o for_o the_o resolve_v of_o it_o they_o have_v devise_v a_o error_n avouch_v that_o christ_n be_v mediator_n only_o as_o he_o be_v man_n not_o as_o he_o be_v god_n which_o be_v untrue_a for_o as_o both_o nature_n do_v concur_v in_o the_o work_n of_o satisfaction_n so_o likewise_o they_o do_v both_o concur_v in_o the_o work_n of_o intercession_n and_o therefore_o a_o more_o meet_a and_o convenient_a answer_n be_v this_o christ_n jesus_n god-man_n in_o both_o nature_n be_v direct_o our_o mediator_n to_o the_o first_o person_n the_o father_n as_o s._n john_n say_v 2.1_o if_o any_o man_n sin_n we_o have_v a_o advocate_n with_o the_o father_n jesus_n christ_n the_o just_a and_o thus_o we_o have_v three_o person_n in_o the_o work_n of_o intercession_n real_o distinguish_v the_o party_n offend_v be_v god_n the_o father_n the_o not_o man_n we_o that_o believe_v in_o christ_n be_v man_n not_o god_n christ_n himself_o both_o man_n and_o god_n it_o may_v be_v further_a reply_v that_o this_o answer_n will_v not_o stand_v because_o not_o only_o the_o father_n be_v offend_v but_o also_o the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o therefore_o there_o must_v be_v a_o mediator_n to_o they_o also_o answer_n the_o intercession_n of_o christ_n be_v direct_v to_o the_o father_n the_o first_o person_n immediate_o now_o the_o father_n the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v all_o one_o indivisible_a essence_n and_o by_o consequent_a one_o and_o the_o same_o will_n whereupon_o the_o father_n be_v appease_v by_o christ_n intercession_n the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v also_o appease_v with_o he_o and_o in_o he_o thus_o then_o intercession_n be_v make_v to_o the_o whole_a trinity_n but_o yet_o immediate_o and_o direct_o to_o the_o first_o person_n and_o in_o he_o to_o the_o rest_n the_o second_o point_n to_o be_v consider_v be_v the_o manner_n of_o his_o intercession_n unto_o his_o father_n we_o must_v not_o imagine_v that_o christ_n now_o in_o heaven_n kneel_v down_o on_o his_o invaluable_a merit_n of_o his_o death_n and_o passion_n in_o which_o he_o be_v well_o please_v and_o we_o must_v further_o understand_v that_o as_o on_o the_o cross_n he_o stand_v in_o our_o room_n so_o in_o heaven_n he_o now_o appear_v as_o a_o public_a person_n in_o our_o stead_n represent_v all_o the_o elect_a that_o shall_v believe_v in_o he_o as_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v 9.24_o christ_n jesus_n ascend_v up_o into_o heaven_n to_o appear_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n for_o us._n and_o for_o the_o second_o christ_n make_v request_n for_o we_o in_o that_o he_o will_v according_a to_o
