peculiar_a in_o that_o glory_n prepare_v for_o the_o soul_n above_o that_o of_o the_o body_n not_o only_o that_o the_o soul_n in_o its_o own_o nature_n be_v capable_a of_o a_o great_a perfection_n and_o excellency_n than_o the_o body_n but_o also_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o time_n for_o whereas_o the_o body_n shall_v remain_v under_o the_o power_n of_o death_n and_o corruption_n until_o the_o general_a resurrection_n the_o soul_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n shall_v be_v triumph_v in_o glory_n so_o that_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o saint_n will_v come_v under_o a_o double_a consideration_n 1._o before_o the_o resurrection_n 2._o after_o the_o resurrection_n 1._o before_o the_o resurrection_n when_o the_o soul_n shall_v remain_v separate_v from_o the_o body_n of_o which_o i_o shall_v speak_v somewhat_o brief_o because_o among_o other_o wretched_a doctrine_n hatch_v of_o old_a and_o late_o revive_v this_o be_v find_v to_o be_v one_o viz._n that_o the_o soul_n die_v or_o sleep_v with_o the_o body_n and_o so_o abide_v till_o the_o great_a day_n of_o the_o general_a resurrection_n when_o it_o shall_v be_v raise_v again_o with_o the_o body_n but_o two_o clear_a scripture_n may_v be_v oppose_v against_o this_o opinion_n the_o first_o be_v in_o heb._n 12.23_o where_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o the_o privilege_n which_o the_o saint_n have_v while_o they_o be_v upon_o earth_n say_v they_o be_v come_v to_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n make_v perfect_a not_o the_o soul_n of_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n live_v on_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n for_o they_o be_v imperfect_a for_o we_o know_v in_o part_n and_o prophecy_n in_o part_n but_o when_o that_o which_o be_v perfect_a be_v come_v that_o which_o be_v in_o part_n shall_v be_v do_v away_o hence_o than_o it_o remain_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n make_v perfect_a must_v be_v no_o other_o than_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o saint_n separate_v from_o the_o body_n and_o translate_v unto_o glory_n now_o if_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n separate_v from_o their_o body_n be_v make_v perfect_a they_o be_v not_o dead_a for_o death_n be_v the_o destruction_n of_o perfection_n the_o body_n be_v never_o so_o imperfect_a as_o when_o it_o be_v dead_a a_o disease_a body_n be_v much_o more_o perfect_a than_o a_o dead_a corpse_n so_o than_o if_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v dead_a with_o their_o body_n they_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v make_v perfect_a that_o they_o shall_v utter_o lose_v those_o beginning_n of_o perfection_n which_o they_o have_v while_o they_o be_v in_o the_o body_n their_o grace_n will_v be_v extinguish_v and_o there_o will_v be_v a_o loss_n to_o they_o of_o that_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o communion_n with_o he_o which_o they_o have_v here_o upon_o the_o earth_n the_o second_o place_n of_o scripture_n i_o shall_v produce_v against_o this_o opinion_n of_o the_o mortalist_n be_v in_o 2_o cor._n 5.6_o 7_o 8._o therefore_o we_o be_v always_o confident_a nature_n exhaust_v the_o spirit_n and_o indispose_v it_o for_o action_n then_o shall_v the_o happiness_n of_o man_n be_v perfect_a when_o a_o glorify_a soul_n shall_v be_v unite_v to_o a_o immortal_a body_n and_o mutual_o communicate_v all_o their_o advantage_n the_o soul_n shall_v be_v happy_a in_o the_o felicity_n of_o the_o body_n and_o the_o body_n happy_a in_o that_o of_o the_o soul_n all_o their_o difference_n shall_v then_o be_v compose_v in_o this_o general_a peace_n the_o soul_n shall_v then_o forget_v all_o the_o revolt_n of_o the_o body_n nor_o shall_v the_o body_n any_o more_o they_o and_o this_o be_v perfect_a in_o regard_n of_o they_o because_o it_o be_v such_o a_o perfection_n as_o they_o be_v capable_a of_o and_o can_v contain_v 2._o it_o be_v perfect_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o subject_n in_o which_o it_o be_v in_o that_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o be_v due_a and_o requisite_a to_o make_v their_o happiness_n complete_a and_o perfect_a without_o any_o defect_n it_o be_v so_o perfect_a that_o they_o need_v no_o more_o knowledge_n of_o god_n then_o that_o which_o they_o have_v and_o who_o can_v deny_v but_o that_o this_o be_v a_o perfection_n of_o knowledge_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o subject_n they_o be_v as_o bless_v every_o way_n and_o so_o especial_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o such_o creature_n can_v be_v and_o that_o be_v a_o the_o state_n of_o glory_n they_o shall_v enjoy_v a_o perfect_a liberty_n from_o wrath_n and_o all_o their_o chain_n of_o fear_n shall_v be_v knock_v off_o the_o glorify_a shall_v no_o more_o fear_n wrath_n than_o the_o glorify_a shall_v hope_v for_o favour_n they_o shall_v no_o more_o dread_a hell_n than_o the_o damn_a true_o desire_v heaven_n their_o perfect_a sense_n of_o god_n love_n towards_o they_o and_o their_o perfect_a love_n of_o god_n will_v cast_v out_o all_o these_o fear_n the_o state_n of_o glory_n be_v a_o fearless_a estate_n as_o far_o above_o fear_n as_o heaven_n above_o earth_n the_o mountain_n of_o glory_n can_v be_v remove_v with_o the_o great_a tempest_n of_o the_o fear_n of_o any_o evil_n 3._o it_o be_v a_o state_n of_o freedom_n from_o all_o affliction_n now_o affliction_n be_v compare_v in_o scripture_n to_o bond_n fetter_n chain_n yoke_n and_o such_o engine_n and_o instrument_n of_o miserable_a bondage_n the_o evil_a of_o sin_n and_o affliction_n be_v twin_n bear_v together_o and_o shall_v cease_v and_o die_v together_o when_o the_o soul_n take_v her_o flight_n to_o the_o mountain_n of_o glory_n she_o cast_v off_o the_o mantle_n of_o suffer_v
